I got a no-chip manicure for my wedding at Studio 718. The staff was very helpful and did a really good job on both my nails and my MOH's. Their location was perfect for my Starved Rock wedding. I highly recommend going there for your pre-wedding mani or pedi.
We all LOVED getting pampered and pretty at Studio 718. I only knew vaguely what I wanted for my bridal updo, and my stylist created exactly the look I wanted (and incorporated my bridal crown in a unique way) based off the little I gave her. My makeup was gorgeous! My makeup artist (a 30-year veteran) wisely steered me away from my go-to cat eye and created a more timeless look without being too pushy. I was even sent off with an "emergency" lash kit in case my look needed a refresher mid-day.
The staff was extremely prompt with our time frame and graciously accommodated a few of my tardy bridal party members. We were given a table for food/drinks and even our stylists didn't mind getting us mimosa refills and straws mid-updo. My updo and makeup lasted all through my windy wedding day and well into the next day.
Talented and knowledgeable staff that really made all of us feel special for our important day. Highly recommend!
I booked them back in January for my August wedding when prices were $55 and $45 for hair and makeup application. I hadn’t heard from the salon at all since then. So, I emailed them earlier this month to confirm appointments. Finally, I got a response a few days later saying that they have new prices and they went up to $80 and $97 and that my appointments were now at 9/10:30 A.M. instead of the noon time I thought we had agreed on.
The reason I chose this salon was because they were the most reasonably priced with the best work. I’m not mad about having to pay extra, I’m mad that I wasn’t locked into their prior rates as I started this booking back in January.
I have since cancelled all bookings with them and have found a salon that I can trust. I’m very disappointed as I was so looking forward to working with them. Plus, Emily is a sweetheart.
I just had my wedding at Starved Rock Lodge on Friday, June 8th, 2018.
I found this salon on google and picked them based on their pricing and 4+star reviews on google and yelp. I booked my hair & makeup trial in March and was quoted $55 for hair and $45 for makeup. The hair & makeup trial was perfect. I was very pleased.
I booked 5 appointments in March for hair and makeup for myself, my mom, and my bridesmaids for Friday morning on June 8th. At the time of booking we were quoted $55 for hair and $45 for makeup.
Later on, in May I decided I wanted to treat my girls to manicures, so I booked 4 appointments for no chip manicures for Thursday, June 7th (the day before). I bought my girls the no chip manicures, we had a wonderful time.
The day of our hair & makeup, we arrived 15m early and got started right away. Upon check out we were charge double at what we were originally quoted. When we questioned this, they only offered one of us a 10% discount. I ended up paying $260 for my hair, makeup application and my mother's makeup application (she opted out of my offer for the nails so I offered to pay for her makeup instead). Despite the unexpected doubling in price we still had a good time (it was my wedding day after all). However, the hair styling did not last long. By the time I got back to the lodge, almost all the curls had fallen out of my hair (she literally used an entire bottle of hair spray on my head). My maid of honor's no chip manicure completely peeled off from her thumb nail. The only thing that lasted all night was the makeup application, which was done beautifully.
Considering we had booked these appointments in March, I would have expected this salon to at least email us or even tell us on Thursday when we were in for our no chip manicures that they had raised their prices. But they didn't, in the least I feel like they should have honored the prices they had originally quoted us at. Despite that, everyone is friendly and goes out of their way to make you feel special, but I would only recommend this salon for makeup application. Skip the hair and manicures.
I got married 12/29/17 and it was a SNOWY day! All the staff were there already ready to get the day started. This salon really stood out to me because they really strive to go above and beyond. We had me, the bride, 4 bridesmaids, bride's mom, groom's mom, and the bride's grandmother all getting their hair and makeup done that day. A couple weeks before the wedding they emailed me an itinerary with times and hair and makeup stylists which made the morning flow so smoothly. And what was even more amazing is that we were able to get Hy-Vee to deliver breakfast and the studio had a table for us to set out all our food, and of course mimosas! Let's talk about the hair. All my bridesmaids looked absolutely amazing. Everyone had a little bit of a different hair style, and each bridesmaid looked absolutely beautiful! I had an up-do, and I wanted to to do an "outy braid" on the side and my hair stylist knocked it out of the park. It was really perfect! My hair stylist was Emily Westerman, she was so great and such a perfectionist! One of my bridesmaids had clip in extensions, and again Emily picked the most perfect hair style that worked with her thin hair and blended in the extensions so well. We got so many compliments throughout that day with everyones hair and makeup, and the pictures turned out so well! I highly recommend this studio for weddings!
The staff was amazing! Everyone looked great and they did hair and makeup for my wedding party and the moms. They were very friendly and sweet. They were reasonably priced, and able to accomidate a last minute flower girl. I would go to them again for any basic or celebration hair and makeup needs!
I got my make-up done as did my mom and two of the bridesmaids by Roseanne, Absolutely professional and beautiful work! We all felt like princesses! Latisha did our nails and toes and they were beautiful. She did and art work of I Do and a rhinestone on my big toe which was an adorable touch!
I loved how my stylist, Jenna, fixed my hair for the wedding. I had a few different ideas, and she worked with me very easily so that it turned out just how I wanted. I also had my makeup done, and was very pleased. I normally don't wear too much make-up, and the artist was able to make me look awesome without looking overdone. I marked them 4 stars because some of my bridesmaids weren't as pleased with their hair.
