Our wedding cake was beyond amazing! Not only did it taste great but it looked great as well. They were able to decorate our cake using the flowers that our florist brought. Our wedding cake was lavender with raspberry filling. It was delicious! It was still delicious a few days after the wedding! We also had cupcakes as the “grooms cake”. We had sports team logos on top of the cupcakes which my husband was very happy about. We did a tasting at the bakery and we had a good selection to choose from and they were very helpful. They were even able to make a few of the cupcakes gluten free as my sister in law has a gluten allergy.

The cake mattered. You can find great table art at a dozen bakeries in Austin, but if you want a cake that is more than just a pretty face, when you take a bite, Sugar Shaker does not disappoint. We had a traditional brides cake with a lace pattern and multiple flavors and a German chocolate grooms cake in the shape of a Jack Daniels bottle. Both were stunning to look at and tasted like a little slice of heaven. Several guests made a point of asking about the bakery because it was so good. They are also 100% professional, communicate quickly and will do what they say, when they say it. And their charcuterie style tasting was one of our favorite planning appointments. We found Sugar Shaker Bakery at the Austin Bridal Expo. What really drew us to Sugar Shaker was their incredible customer service and their willingness to let us mix and match the cake flavors, fillings and frostings for our wedding cake and cupcakes. Choosing the flavors at the tasting was too much fun! We ended up going with a 6 inches cake just for us and 3 types of mini-cupcakes (banana fosters, apple cinnamon and marble). Also, as part of our package for booking at the wedding expo, we received a complimentary cake topper. We worked with Rebecca at the Rustic Rabbet to create an adorable wooden “You’re my greatest adventure “ cake topper. Everyone at the wedding kept complimenting our cupcakes. There were hardly any cupcakes left at the end of the night. We would definitely recommend Sugar Shaker Bakery for your wedding cake and cupcake needs. You and your guests will be soo happy!

Our cake was AMAZING! Angela worked so well with my undecidedness, and my husband’s picky choices! The flavors were through the roof! It was a total hit at the wedding! Everyone loved it! My favorite was the marble cake with coconut pecan caramel filling! I loved every single bit of it. We had three tiers, the rest was chocolate and strawberry. Cannot thank them enough. We had an amazing cake! Thank y’all soooo much!!!!

We visited Sugar Shaker and immediately knew they were the crew we wanted in charge of our wedding cakes! All of the flavors we tried were AMAZING and they were great working with us to create the perfect flavors. Then they got to know us and helped us pick designs for the cakes. Last minute my husband wanted a sushi cake and they made the change no problem and wow did they deliver! They are truly experts with a local bakery feel. We didn't get to try the groom's cake at the wedding so we ordered a small cake to try and they decorated it for us without us asking! That just shows how awesome they are. We will be choosing them for any special cakes we need in the future!

They were great. I had no worries. They matched my theme perfect with my cake. The maple bacon is die for! They were on time and had everything ready to go! They are awesome!

The tasting went well. All the favors were absolutely delicious! Cake was moist and light. Icing was full of vanilla flavor and a thick substantial icing. Not that light whipped stuff. We discussed designs. My fiancé and I wanted scrolling similar to what was on our wedding invitations but the scrolling would be gray in color (our wedding colors were gray and plum) with plum colored ribbon on the base of each tier, which I was to supply. Also, one of them boasted about having their first cake, which had scrolling in it, featured in a magazine). We were so impressed with the quality of the cake, filling and icing that at the end of the tasting that we left a deposit of half the cost of the cake. I walked away from the tasting having felt confident in my choice and that we would have a bomb a@# tasting cake and a beautiful design to accompany it. I begin to receive emails stating my payment is due within days of sent email. Additionally, the email did not have the correct filling listed. Again we requested strawberry and it said vanilla. I call them up, inform them of the inaccuracy and to confirm due date of the final payment. They note that is a system error that they are working to get fixed and that my payment was not due on the date the email indicated. They acknowledged the mistake about the filling and vowed to correct it. Subsequent to the conversation, the filling info was correctly noted. Again, pretty annoying but I get it, things happen. It is now a month out and I placed four calls and left 2 messages requesting a return call. My reason for calling this time was to inquire about that size cake stand I should purchase. I request a call back or email (at this point, I'm getting desperate). They finally email me back, instructing me on what size cake stand to purchase. Note: I pay in full a week later. Fast forward to the week of the event. I am calling to confirmed payment because I have not heard from them. I wanted to make sure everything was okay and we were good to go for the event. I called them 3 days before the event. I also texted them on this text apparatus thing they have. No return call. Two days before the event, I call again. No return call. I call again 1 day before the event. No return call. The day of the event. You guessed it! NO RETURN CALL!! Their voicemail recording notes to text them, if you are calling and it is the day of your event and they would get back to you. I have no idea what kind of business they are running were they fail to be responsive to their paying customers. It is absolutely disgraceful!! I get to my venue and the cake is delivered! Thank god! but guess what? They used a freaking stencil on the cake. Scrolling my A@@ (that must have been some magazine you were featured in). The stencil on the cake was lavender when it was suppose to be gray! It wasn't even plum it was lavender. Even if it had been plum, it still wouldn't have been right but at least it would have been close! Not to mention they did not even but the plum colored ribbon on the bases. Probably because the knew the screwed it up. Could also be why they weren't returning my calls and texts the day leading up to my event! You are forewarned. DO NOT USE THEM!!

These ladies were so fantastic and patient with my wife and myself. The only thing that we definitely knew we wanted was the flavour of the cake (funfetti), so we were turned away by a few places as they did not offer this. Sugar Shaker Bakery were more than happy to work with this and were so helpful when it took an extremely long while to finally decide on what style we wanted for our cake. We ended up going for a simple, white three tiered cake as the colour would be inside and we definitely made the right choice as it was so delicious! The cake was absolutely beautiful and delivery & set up was perfectly done (especially on a Friday evening during rush hour), so we truly appreciated that! I didn't get to meet the ladies in person, but through our email communication I got the impression that they were very considerate and I was very glad that we chose them.

The cake flavors here are just honestly so amazing. Go ahead and try the adventurous flavors too - we did one tier with Maple Bacon! We definitely will be coming back to order anniversary and birthday cakes from here as well!

Sugar Shaker bakery made us such a beautiful cake. Not only did the cake look lovely but tasted delicious!! Highly recommend their handmade vanilla bean! Delivery and set up were right on time and customer service was wonderful! I highly recommend these ladies!!

Our wedding cake and grooms cake - everyone's favorite red velvet armadillo - were spectacular. We received compliments from virtually everyone, even after the wedding day. Will use again and highly recommend. Very professional, easy to work with, responsive to questions and no issues with delivery and setup.

The Whataburger cake we had made for the grooms cake for our wedding last night was out of this world. Everyone who came in was beyond amazed at the cake on top of the fact that it was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend this bakery for anything you need!!

WOW. My cake was just as wonderful at my wedding for 200 guest as it was the day my husband and I went in to try it!! Their pricing, is amazing, their cake OUTSTANDING, and they are truly amazing to work with. My guest told me that the cake was the best they have EVER had at a wedding!! Truly amazing!

Wow Wow WOW! My wedding cake tasted FANTASTIC! They made the process so easy! We got everything we wanted and more. They even accommodated a guest who was gluten free with a Gluten free cupcake! So amazing! Highly recommend!

We met with them a few months before the wedding. They set up a tasting for us at their kitchen. It was so good. They are super nice and easy to work with. We ended up getting a princess fun fetti cake with naked icing. I just showed them a picture of my vision and they made it come to life. Even better than I had imagined. I had so many compliments on how beautiful and tasty my cake was. I think it was the best I have ever had! I will be using Sugar Shaker bakery again next time I need a cake.

We found Sugar Shaker Bakery at a bridal extravaganza and their samples were really good. Their pricing also worked with our budget. At the bridal extravaganza we were told they would deliver the cakes for free because our venue was really close. When we went for a tasting, we liked the flavors but didn't like the pushy sales tactic. We were told we had 24 hours to decide or we would have to pay a $75 delivery fee. Because we were on a budget and we liked the cake flavor, we went with them. We got the 'princess' flavor cake with coconut icing and coconut filling. They delivered the cakes on time and they looked really good, BUT they didn't taste very good! Taste is super important to me. I was really looking forward to the cake. I even altered the schedule of events so we could have time to sit and eat some cake. The cake didn't taste like the samples at all. It was very plain and didn't taste like the princess cake flavor we tried on multiple occasions. The coconut filling was super thin and was the only part of the cake that tasted as good as it did at our tasting. The frosting was the worst part. We didn't go with some cheaper cake vendors (HEB) because their frosting was way too sweet. The frosting on our wedding cake was way too sweet, again different from the tasting. If our samples tasted like the cake we got, we wouldn't have gone with Sugar Shaker Bakery. Overall they did a great job with decorating and delivering, but the flavors weren't consistent and our cake didn't taste anything like the samples. If taste doesn't matter too much to you, they are a great option.
