rive to provide every couple, and because we believe important context is missing from your review, we’d like to provide additional information for future couples considering Sun Valley. Regarding the ceremony, our staff immediately began drying the ceremony chairs after the rain using venue towels. Given that there were approximately 250 chairs and rain continued on and off throughout the day, we appreciated the assistance of your wedding planners and content creator so the ceremony could begin on time. At no point were guests asked or expected to prepare the ceremony space, nor should guests have used their own clothing to dry chairs. Many of the items referenced as “extra charges” are entirely optional enhancements selected during the planning process. Our ceremony package, additional seating, décor upgrades, and rental enhancements allow couples to customize their wedding day according to their preferences. In addition, Sun Valley provided your wedding with $750 in complimentary enhancements at no charge. The conversation regarding the Damage & Infraction Retainer did not occur ten minutes before the ceremony or with you directly. It took place approximately one hour before the ceremony with a family representative after our management team documented multiple contract violations that had already occurred. Following the event, additional violations resulted in the retention of the $750 Damage & Infraction Retainer in accordance with the agreement signed prior to the wedding. These documented violations included prohibited activities that required additional cleanup, replacement of venue property, and enforcement of venue safety policies throughout the event. Regarding the bridal suite, our staff knocked before entering while performing normal venue responsibilities. With a full bridal party, family members, and music playing in the suite, it appears our knock simply was not heard. We certainly regret if that created an uncomfortable moment, as that was never our intention. With respect to your grandfather, our bartenders believed he was requesting an alcoholic beverage during the scheduled bar closure. As soon as we learned he simply wanted a Diet Coke, it was promptly delivered directly to his seat. Sun Valley’s policies exist to protect every couple, every guest, and every event we host. They include rules regarding smoking, vaping, marijuana use, outside alcohol, and glassware on the dance floor—policies that are applied consistently to every wedding without exception. While enforcing those policies is not always the most enjoyable part of our job, they exist to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and consistent experience for every couple who celebrates with us. We care deeply about every wedding we host and work incredibly hard to create an exceptional experience for each couple. While we recognize that no venue is the right fit for every couple, we also know that one review cannot fully reflect the experience of the hundreds of weddings we have been honored to host over the years. We encourage prospective couples to read the experiences shared by our many other couples, which reflect the level of service, care, and professionalism our team is committed to providing every weekend.
