**ATTENTION FUTURE BRIDES, COUPLES and anyone considering Sun Valley... please read this before you book.**
Here are bullets if you don't have time to read the entire message belo...w:
- Paid $750 extra for an outdoor ceremony... then our family and guests had to wipe down 250 chairs themselves after it rained.
(with t-shirts from guests cars since they would not provide us with paper towels.)
- Paid extra for additional chairs. Paid extra for the ceremony arch. Everything is an additional charge.
- We were told they were cashing our damages check 10 minutes before I walked down the aisle while guests were already seated.
- Bridal suite was entered multiple times without knocking & once while I was changing into my reception dress.
- Our 93-year-old grandpa couldn't get a Diet Coke during dinner because the bar was closed. He was thirsty, but they wouldn't accommodate... UNTIL we told them to "watch their social media and Google Business Profile" then however, they gladly assisted us.
- Beautiful venue. Terrible experience.
- We left feeling like policies mattered more than people.
- I would never recommend this venue to another couple.
I never imagined I'd be writing a review like this after my wedding, but I also don't want another couple to have the experience we did.
We paid an additional $750 to have our ceremony onsite, paid extra for additional ceremony chairs because they only provide 200. Right before our ceremony, it rained briefly. Once it stopped, instead of helping us get ready for the ceremony after we had paid thousands of dollars to them, my father-in-law and our guests were wiping down 250 chairs themselves because the venue wouldn't provide paper towels or assist. It was heartbreaking to watch our family and friends doing that moments before I walked down the aisle.
Then, about **10 minutes before I was supposed to walk down the aisle**, while guests were already seated, Megan approached my mom, my mother-in-law, and myself to tell us they would be cashing our damages and infractions check because empty beer cans had been found on the property in a cooler. There was no opportunity for us to explain that they came from the party bus and had nowhere else to go because the transportation company had another wedding party to pick up immediately afterward. Instead of handling it after the ceremony or asking us about it first, this conversation happened at one of the most emotional moments of our lives.
Throughout the day, it felt like we were constantly being watched instead of supported. At one point during the reception, while I was changing into my second dress, Megan repeatedly entered the bridal suite without knocking because she kept trying to find/catch vaping. I was literally getting undressed. It was uncomfortable and completely inappropriate.
Another situation that really upset our family was during dinner when our 93-year-old grandpa simply wanted a Diet Coke. Because the bar closes for an hour, he couldn't get one. For a venue that requires you to purchase alcohol through them, it was disappointing that there wasn't a way to accommodate such a simple request.
The biggest disappointment wasn't any one policy—it was how we were treated. We felt scrutinized, unsupported, and like policy enforcement mattered more than the people celebrating one of the biggest days of their lives.
I truly hope other couples have a different experience than we did, but based on ours, I cannot recommend Sun Valley.
