Take the advice from the bad reviews and find another vendor--it is not worth the risk with this company. I tried very hard to see the good in this company and Michael, but this is a company that is at best horribly managed, and at worst disgus...tingly greedy. You will likely get inexcusable communication, misleading info., and a chronic headache from dealing with it all (just like multiple other reviews here mention).
Back in February of 2021 I paid in full for a wedding in June of 2022, fast forward to May 2021 the wedding had been cancelled--I reached out to all of the vendors to ask about potential refunds since it was over a year out from the date we had booked. Michael said he would give a full refund, which was great given it was over two thousand dollars. I waited around all summer, then all fall and nothing. According to Chef Michael he had sent a check out at least three times and it "got lost" and then Venmo "must be having issues" because the return would not go through. I spoke with this man on almost a weekly basis (via phone call, text, and email), sometimes multiple times a week, with multiple lies and changing stories coming up as things went along. The standard in this regard has been pathetic.
Fast forward to November, he tells me I can come get a check from him personally because he wanted to make sure I got the return. He cancelled the day of the first time, and then told me he would be there the next day with the check. I explain that I am a little over two hours away and would have to call off work, and that there could not be any change of plans or excuses given how drawn out the entire process had been and the loss of pay from needing to take the day off to drive to Dublin. I drive to him, sit and wait, and then get the check (which was dated wrong), Michael himself confirms everything, I drive home, auto deposit the check, and it clears. A week later his bank pulls the check back and/or it bounced due to lack of funds and completely overdrafts my bank account. I tell Michael this and he promises that it will be fixed and claims that he had fraud happen to his account and that must have been the problem (convenient). Since then I have talked to him more than a multitude of times, been given contact info. to a man who claimed to be his accountant (but this seems to be fake as well), apparently three-four wires have just "had issues" making it to my bank account, and received a fraudulent wire receipt two times. Despite me speaking to both his bank and my own, this man cannot seem to figure out the issue, or he simply is a compulsive liar.
How this place is in business and how someone sleeps well at night knowing how poorly things are ran is beyond me. I am now in the process of taking things to court since this could not be handled professionally, and I encourage anyone else in a similar position to just try and get things sorted a more formal route (such as formal mediation with the DA's office or a date in small claims court--or both) rather than wasting time trying to deal with the owner of this company. If you don't have any grounds or time to pursue a court claim, take a second a write a complaint on the BBB website.
Beyond tasteless customer service, professionalism, and integrity. Maybe the food is good (I wouldn't know and either way it wouldn't be worth it imo), but the ethics and communication are deplorable. Hopefully they do better or move on from this type of work.
