I wish I could give more stars than 5! Kim was incredibly easy to work with and her work is absolutely beautiful. I got SO many compliments for the calligraphy on my wedding envelopes. Her communication and dedication was amazing and I am so happy that I worked with her.

As a lover of all things paper I always hoped to have hand lettered envelopes for our wedding invitations. Luckily, we found Kim, who is incredible. Kim is so wonderful to work with! First of all, her work is gorgeous!! She does script matching and was able to match the calligraphy on my envelopes to what was on my invitations! Secondly, she was very timely with everything. She always replied to emails or calls promptly and finished all of my envelopes in one week (I had about 150 invitations). Additionally, she was so helpful with how to word things on the envelopes and wedding address etiquette. She provided a word document that explained a lot and then read through and proofread ALL of the addresses prior to addressing the envelope! She spotted so many small errors I had made! I'm so happy that I found Kim, she's the best!!

Kim was the best vendor I've worked with thus far. She was highly responsive, efficient, and reasonably priced. I'd highly recommend her to any bride - it's obvious why she has five stars from everyone! One piece of advice to other brides - purchase an extra envelope with your address on it, to frame after the fact. And a second with a fake address for photographs. You'll be glad you did! I almost didn't want to send out my invitations because I was so obsessed with how beautiful they are. Wonderful. Just wonderful.

This was NOT the case with my experience with The Constant Scribe, Kim. Right from the start with our initial phone conversation, Kim was professional, organized, informative, kind and caring. Meeting her in person at her charming studio merely reinforced what I already suspected: that she loves what she does, is really good at it, and cares about her customers' desires and their satisfaction. Our initial request involved an unusual style of lettering and Kim jumped through hoops to make it happen just as we had hoped. Kim was wonderful to work with and the final product was absolutely beautiful. When I met Kim she was collaborative on the process and great to bounce ideas back and forth with. We always talked through the options available and vetted them out to land on something that I was ecstatic about. She was always responsive, easy to work with, and always delivered our items early. We came to Kim with an odd request -- a Quaker-style marriage contract (really an English-language variation on the Jewish ketuba) decorated with Norwegian rosemaling that our guests could sign at the ceremony. We could not have asked for a better calligrapher to make what ended up being a truly unique treasure we'll keep for the rest of our lives. She made room for our somewhat belated request in her busy schedule, was communicative and enthusiastic, checked in with us at every stage of the process, and even gave us flowers when we came to pick up the final product! Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!! My fiance and I talked to a couple caligraphers and they were pretty expensive and we're giving us 2 month time frames to have envelopes completed. I reached out to Kim when I decided I wanted some custom signs made for our wedding last minute. I think she typically focus on invitations and envelopes but she was really helpful and excited to help me execute our ideas. She asked great questions to make sure she understood my vision and even suggested tying in a theme from our wedding invitations to the sign to create similarity. Kim did great a keeping me in the loop on her progress, sending me pictures along the way to ensure accuracy and that I was happy with the final product. She is a real expert at what she does and its clear that she loves it!!

I really did not think I needed to use a professional to address my invitations, however I am SO extremely glad I did!! Kim was an absolute delight to work with. I am a bride who is getting married in the spring, and I have always done the elegant, classy and yes, fun things with our wedding! Kim (The Constant Scribe) is remarkable. Kim helped me propose to my now fiancee by turning a typed letter into a truly amazing keepsake that my fiancee will have for the rest of our lives. You see, part of my proposal plan involved having a letter delivered to my fiancee after we had finished dinner (and after I had excused myself so that I could surreptitiously watch her read the letter). Because the letter played such a central role in the proposal, presentation was very important. Kim delivered flawlessly. Her calligraphy is beautiful, and she even created a special envelope to fit the letter such that the pages did not need to be folded. To this day, my fiancee will pull the letter out from time to time, and (second to her ring, I think) it is her most treasured keepsake from the proposal.

Kim went above and beyond in doing the calligraphy for my invitations! She took time to thoroughly explain how her process worked and advised me on which envelopes to select, based on my budget. I hardly know where to begin to describe the amazing experience I had working with Kim. From the very start, she set herself apart from the other vendors I had been working with for my wedding. She was very prompt in all her email correspondence, she was informative, she was enthusiastic, and she was super super super nice. I planned my wedding in Chicago from China, and as you may imagine, it got very stressful at times. She wrote our table names, candy names for our sweet table, photo booth signs and helped design door knob hangers we put in our goody bags. And she did such a great job! I had long-admired Kim's calligraphy (which, really, should be referred to as art), and so I was thrilled to work together through the process of creating wedding announcements for my January 2013 wedding. Kim's calligraphy is art because of her extraordinary talent and knowledge of her craft. As an artist, she also has an incredible sense of style and taste. Because of these attributes, she transformed my wedding announcements into something beautiful that was far more wonderful than my limited imagination could have conceived. Working with Kim will give any bride peace of mind (which, as we all know, is important!) because of the immense confidence that can be placed in her, both as a kind person and as a skilled calligrapher. I personally felt assured and stress-free while working with Kim, and ended up with beautiful, customized calligraphy!

After a change of heart, we decided to use a calligrapher and it was one of the best decisions we made. I was referred to Kim from the Papyrus store at the Water Tower Place and she did the most BEAUTIFUL job addressing my outer envelopes, name cards and table numbers. Not only is her penmanship flawless, she is the most WONDERFUL person I worked with throughout my wedding planning. Kim helped me find the perfect script to match my invitation. We chose the citadel font and it was so classic and elegant. Our guests gave us so many compliments. When I found out that the company I ordered my invitations from were running 2 weeks behind schedule, Kim was very accommodating. Not only did she work overtime to complete my envelopes, she finished them early and there were 270 long difficult Greek last names. I also want to mention that she is very detail oriented. When I sent her my guest list, she took the time to study each address carefully and caught multiple mistakes that I had made. Kim was very easy to communicate with over email and would always get back to me right away to answer my questions. I was going to order Crane place cards that were over my budget and I emailed her for advice. She is so talented and creative and came up with an even more beautiful place card design. She custom designed each name card to fit on my favors perfectly. They turned out better than the Crane ones and I stayed within my budget. Kim did an excellent job designing my table numbers. I gave her the picture frames and she found beautiful paper to match and the numbers looked so pretty. I highly recommend Kim! Kim is not only an amazing calligrapher she is a wonderful designer who truly cares about her brides. She is very professional, her calligraphy is flawless and she is such a pleasure to work with! We couldn't be happier with the results.

We found The Constant Scribe on The Knot website. We emailed Kim (and others) for pricing and samples. We liked what she had to offer. However, what we got was far better than we ever imagined. Kim had all of the envelopes, both outside and inside addressed faster than we expected. I can't express how beautiful the envelopes turned out. A friend of mine told me she was going to save the envelopes because of how beautiful they turned out. I used a really ornate font for my letterpress invitations, & I was hoping to have something similar for the envelopes. A day after sending Kim a sample of the font she sent me back 2 different examples of how she could address the envelopes using the same font. Her work was amazing, she kept me up to date on the whole process, and even caught a mistake I had made with a zip code. She had all 70 of my invitations addressed in record time, and they were carefully packaged for pickup. Her rates were extremely reasonable, and she was gracious and enthusiastic throughout the process.

I was hesitant about using a calligrapher at first. We weren’t having a formal wedding, so I could have addressed the envelopes myself. However, it was the best money we spent! Kim was so pleasant and easy to work with and responded very quickly to emails (major brownie points in my book). She did a fantastic job and really worked with us to find a lettering that matched the style of our event. She also sent me an email the day before the wedding sending her congratulations. It was the sweetest thing! Overall I was very impressed.

Kim did such a beautiful job for our wedding - our designs were more modern and sleek so we did not want to have the curly, traditional calligraphy. Instead, she was true to the overall theme, creating very cool, minimalist block calligraphy! Easy to work with, speedy and kind. A great person to have on board for your wedding =) Highly recommended.

She sent me many samples and we were able to work together on ideas. She is so creative and gifted and she helped guide me on making decisions that were perfect! She did my wedding invitation envelopes and my place cards along with a personal note that I included with each invite AND 2 beautiful poems that I just had framed. Of all the different vendors we have used thus far in our wedding planning, Kim is our favorite by far! Our Guests received their invitations and had nothing but wonderful things to say. We were so excited to put our invitations in the mail and they looked so beautiful. Kim put the finishing touch on them! I can not say enough wonderful things about Kim! She is warm and responsive...and an absolute joy to work with! Her talent is amazing and as such, my invitations looked oustanding (I chose a modern font). She fixed a couple of errors (our friends moved and I negated to update an address) at no charge.
