Joe, Sue and their team were so helpful, professional, patient and kind. We had to postpone our wedding due to COVID and ended up switching from a venue to a tent wedding and Joe never skipped a beat. They set up a professional cook tent in my parents backyard and handled the event with such grace. My celiac friend commented that the severs were more than accommodating by bringing her a separate plate filled with foods she could eat. Everyone has told me they thought the food was delicious and I couldn’t agree more! One thing that we really wanted was an open bar and we were able to get a terrific package deal with the Cue that we simply couldn’t pass up. The charcuterie table was gorgeous as well! Everyone was so friendly and eager to do whatever they could to make the evening special. I would book them again in a heartbeat. Thank you!!
The Cue is fantastic. We booked the Cue for our large wedding reception for September 2020. They had a BBQ and catering menus for weddings. We had everything booked and then the pandemic happened. They were very flexible and was willing to work with us with whatever we choose to do. We ended up having to cancel the large reception and had just a small dinner after the ceremony with 10 people. They came to our rental home and did a small, private reception dinner. It was amazing. Their food is fantastic. They were so nice and approachable and flexible. They set up everything and cleaned the place as if they were never their. I would highly recommend them for future events.
The Cue came through! Sue, Joe and Danica were absolutely amazing. The food and service were top notch. Sue communicated with me from start to finish and made sure everything went smoothly on our wedding day. No one does it better than The Cue! Thank you!!
When I first emailed The Cue to discuss catering, I mentioned that several family members (including myself) had dietary restrictions, which their site claims to accommodate. They got back to me promptly and provided general info. I replied in order to elaborate on those intolerances & allergies to make sure they could handle it.
...I never heard from them again. I felt like they didn’t want the hassle, so they decided to ignore me. Needless to say, I went with another caterer.
Last weekend The Cue Danbury catered my daughter’s wedding. It was through The Cue that we found our venue, Wood Acres Farm. Once the location was booked, the caterer was an obvious choice. I have used The Cue (formerly Event Caterers) for many family gatherings and knew that they would help create a magical day for Kate & Sean. The experience Joe, Sue, Lisa and staff bring to an event is unrivaled. They have an uncanny ability to oversee every detail with ease and flare. Lisa, our day of the event coordinator, was a fabulous leader, attending to every element throughout the day. Our guests were treated to endless hors d’oeuvres and refreshing drinks during the cocktail hour. Dinner was served family style with continuous trays of mouth watering edible delights. Everything was cooked to perfection and served in style. The Cue was very accommodating to our guest with food allergies and preferences, making sure, prior to the event, that there would be no issues. Everyone from The Cue was helpful, courteous, hardworking and friendly. They definitely enriched our fairytale day. I would highly recommend The Cue for your next catered event!
The Cue has to be one of the best catering companies out there. The food at our wedding was amazing - to quote one of the guests, "You guys win best food at a wedding, hands down, end of story, forever." The service was impeccable - we had a family style meal and there was never a single table left wanting anything - they anticipated needs, and checked in with all guests. Lisa, our day of coordinator, was a pleasure to work with, and so much fun. Everything that they did for us was executed perfectly, and we loved working with them.
My husband and I got married at Candlelight Farms Inn in September 2017 and used the Cue/Event Caterers. We could not have found a better catering company! Sue & Joe were so easy and great to work with throughout the entire process. We chose to do a BBQ buffet and our guests are still talking about the amazing food (the mac and cheese is my personal favorite)! Several guests have told us they will be making a trip to The Cue for seconds. We also had several vegans and vegetarians and Sue & Joe made an excellent seasonal dish for them as well, we didn’t have a single unhappy guest.
On top of providing excellent food, their service really is above and beyond. Their staff made sure my husband and I had a drink in our hands and made sure to keep a constant supply of hors d’oeurves delivered during our photos. Sue also made sure that my husband and I got our dinner immediately so we didn’t forget to eat. She was so easy to work with and very quick to respond to any and all of our questions (and I had several) throughout the planning process. There are a lot of moving parts to a wedding at Candlelight and Sue and Joe were so great at making sure everything went smoothly. Everything was set up and coordinated exactly how we wanted it. Their staff worked together with our other vendors to make sure our day went perfectly and it did! I learned after the fact from our venue that there was an issue with the bathroom trailer we rented and Joe actually was coordinating to try to fix it, which was totally above and beyond his job description.
I would definitely use them for a party in the future and highly recommend their services, especially to anyone getting married at Candlelight Farms!! I’d also suggest checking out The Cue to give their BBQ a try!
Our wedding was just this past September 16, 2017. Never in my life have I had food the quality of Event Caterers, nor have I seen the professionalism I saw with them in the years (two to be exact) and days leading up to the wedding, and the wedding night itself. The options they provide as you meet with them to pick a menu extend beyond elegance and taste. The possibilities are endless. The taste test, the meetings and all of the in between went effortlessly and flawlessly. Joe and Sue have an uncanny eye for what they do, and they do it well. Our guests have been talking about the food for A MONTH, and stated they've never had food this elegant, tasteful and well put together, as they did at our wedding. The tomato soup and grilled cheese in small cups was a HUGE hit for appetizers, and the food was perfectly cooked. We chose "Family Style", which offered a more elegant option for a buffet style meal. The mixed antique plates added a beautiful decorative touch to our wedding as well, and the staff, bartenders included, were friendly and fun! Sue has a heart of gold for her couples and her job. She is there for every bit of your day, including anything needed prior to the wedding. The day of, she helped set up the decorations also, and danced with us that night!!! We ran out of bourbon the night of the wedding and their staff graciously ran to get more. We LOVED getting to work beside them for our special day, and love that they were a huge success in starting us off as husband and wife. Joe's professionalism and Sue's smile and way of making things run perfect, is something you don't see often in a restaurant business, which I'll admit as I worked in one for 10 years prior. Fantastic people, even better food and drinks!!! Not a single food item was disliked by ANYONE, even our picky friends!! We love you, Joe and Sue!!
Event Caterers is the catering company to use if you are getting married at Candlelight Farms Inn, or in fact, any other venue - they are that good. Food was extremely important to us, and to say it simply, their food is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Fresh, seasonal, local ingredients are used in a unique, gourmet presentation. You will not be disappointed in their food. In addition, they have a wide selection to choose from to satisfy every one's taste. Event Caterers did a great job accommodating several dietary needs at our wedding making sure all of our guests were taken care of. The team at Event Caterers is easy to work with, flexible and professional. On the day of our wedding, Event Caterers' staff went above and beyond to make sure every task was attended to, food came out fast and every guest was satisfied. Great vendor, worth the price.
When my husband and I decided to have our wedding at Candlelight Farms in New Milford, CT there were certain vendors that were suggested to us because they handle most weddings there. We wanted a classic outdoor wedding but with higher end food and when we had our tasting of smoked BBQ we were sold. Our guests have continued to tell us over the past month since our wedding how delicious the food was however we have also received several negative reports about the waitstaff in addition to negative encounters I had myself.
We met with our day of coordinator a month before the wedding and went through in detail everything we wanted to make sure happened that day. We informed her that one thing that was most important was that we had a member of the staff assigned to us and the bridal party during cocktail hour while we took pictures. When we arrived to the farm someone took our order for drinks after the ceremony. When the ceremony ended a server came over with drinks for the boys but nothing for the girls. Someone in the bridal party ran over to get me a drink so I had one while we waited for the server to come back with the girls' drinks but the server never came back. Luckily the bridal party pictures did not take too long so everyone other than my husband and I were able to join the cocktail hour and eat and drink. Pictures took about an hour and a half and although I had the one drink right after the ceremony I did not get another one all of cocktail hour because we did not have anyone attend to use at all that entire time even though we specifically told them that was important to us. As we finished taking pictures I stopped a server and asked if she could get me a drink but she told me she was 16 and wasn't allowed to serve alcohol. About 15 minutes later our guests started to sit down for the reception and I still did not have a drink so one of my bridesmaids ran to the bar and came back with a drink for me before we made our entrance. While we were lining up another server came up to us with 2 glasses of champagne. I told her I already had a drink and she said to me "Well you asked for these and it takes a very long time to walk from one end of this place to the other". My bridal party just stared at her with disbelief and took the champagne from her because several people did not have a drink so they wouldn't go to waste. Most other reports were that the bartender was rude - even to my mother in law.
Another thing we asked for that did not happen was have popcorn made. We brought our antique popcorn machine, kernels, oil and special popcorn bags and the popcorn machine was never even set up although they told us in our meeting that it would not be a problem.
Lastly, we had several people with allergies at the wedding and as someone with an allergy myself I know how difficult weddings can be. I wanted to make sure we knew exactly what food was allergen free and it was an extremely difficult process to get a straight answer from them. It took several unanswered phone calls and emails to get them to answer us and propose acceptable solutions for our special guests.
I am giving 3 stars because the food was very good however I was majorly disappointed in their all around service. As 2 people who work in the restaurant industry it never crossed our minds that our guests wouldn't be treated well which is completely unacceptable from a leading caterer in the area especially for what we paid.
We chose Event Caterers to cater our wedding which was held at Candlelight Farms Inn in New Milford, CT. They were the first and last stop when it came to our dining choice for the wedding. Several of our friends have used them for their special events which extends beyond the wedding spectrum. They’ve been knock outs at all of them. We initially met with Joe Yorio (the owner) and Sue to discuss what we had in mind. They had an extensive menu to sift through; after much deliberation we narrowed it down to what would be a very delicious wedding menu. We had our first tasting several weeks later; we loved it all but wanted to try a few other items. Joe had recommended we come back closer to the wedding because the accompanying fruits/vegetables would be in season. After that second visit, we knew we had a menu everyone would enjoy (and they did!). Not only did Joe, Sue, and their staff make some amazing food, but their presentation and professionalism was uncanny. We chose a “family style” service. Everyone passed the different menu options around during dinner and just watching the interaction between everyone at their tables was worth it. Everyone loved the food and kept asking for more. We’d love to recommend Event Caterers to cater your upcoming wedding, bon appetite!
Joe and Sue did a superb job with catering to a menu for vegetarian bride and meat eating groom and an assortment of allergies and tastes. The guests loved the food, the array of desserts was gone almost immediately and they handled the running out of alcohol and restocking without bothering the bride and groom. They cooked outdoors in a tent for an outdoor tent wedding. The staff was exceptional, professional and timely. The tasting and their professionalism was fantastic. Our only complaint was that we wish there was more dessert since we did not get to taste it. Otherwise, Sue and Joe and team are a pleasure to work with and we were truly happy with our pick.
Joe and his team at Event Caterers were fantastic. My husband is a chef, so as you can imagine, the food at our wedding was extremely important to us. We met Joe while looking at wedding venues. We visited a venue (different from the venue we ultimately chose) and Joe and his team were setting up for an event taking place later that evening. My husband was immediately impressed by Joe's mobile kitchen. We can't stand chafing dishes and pre-cooked/re-heated food so this was a huge selling point for us. Joe cooks all food on premises.
Throughout the course of the year, Joe worked closely with us to create a menu that reflected the local Hudson Valley area and captured the Autumn season. As you can imagine, we had some strong opinions and demands, and Joe responded always with "no problem - we can make it happen." Joe even took a day to meet us at our venue (which he had never been to before) to scout the site, meet other vendors and nail down details with us.
We did family style service which I would highly recommend. The food was delicious. We are still getting rave reviews - "best food I've ever had at a wedding" etc. And keep in mind that our guests included a lot of chefs and food industry folks (tough crowd).
Joe and his team were wonderful the day of. Professional, thorough, clean, attentive, friendly. The owner of the farm venue where we were married has extremely high standards - perhaps even higher than ours - and even he was impressed and said that he would recommend Joe and Event Caterers to his future wedding couples.
Menu recommendation: Joe's roast Long Island duck with pumpkin ravioli! People are still talking about it…
Event Caterer's served us the most amazing food ever. Every guest loved their meal and were hoping to get seconds. They set up our venue for the cocktail hour and reception with ease. Sue is a wonderful coordinator and Joe a truly great chef. My only complaint was that throughout the year of planning, it was hard to get them to respond to emails or phone calls. I don't think is a con though because the month of the wedding, they were all hands on deck. They are very busy throughout the year but if you have a chance to book them, do it! They are worth every penny.
Joseph, Kelly and their entire staff were tremendous. The food each and every time I tasted and especially throughout the entire event was scrumptious. Every detail was perfectly executed and trust me there were alot! I am extremely picky and detail oriented and had so many little things to personalize our wedding. They were so pleasant, accomodating, professional, friendly, and overachieving, with the most delicious food I've ever eaten! We are self proclaimed foodies and have very particular guests who attended, they provided vegan meals, kids meals, and everything I mentioned for ideas were enthusiastically and deliciously exectued; ie: Spiked sno-cones, wine and cheese table, appetizers including tuna tartar and philly cheesesteak rolls, to die for tomato soup and grilled cheese shooters, the best salmon I've ever had... People are still raving weeks later about the wedding, the details, and THAT FOOD! I will use them for every party that I need catered in the future and highly recommend their services.
Joe and his staff made our dream wedding meal a reality. The food was amazing, and the staff was so friendly, and we actually got to eat!!!!
