The Grand Hall at Power & Light

Tyler and Dom, wedding planner Lindsee and Fernando Productions were excellent at pivoting when a family emergency arose the week of the wedding. Their punctuality and professionalism were greatly needed and appreciated.

My husband and I toured many venues around Kansas City for our wedding. The moment we stepped into The Grand Hall we knew that this was the venue for us. Tyler (their Event Coordinator) gave us a personal tour of the space and he was so knowledgable and kind about answering any questions we had for our wedding weekend. The space was perfection, absolutely breath taking. It had marble, accents of gold...very regal and elegant. The Grand Hall offers the second floor Mezzanine to be used as our cocktail hour space offering sofas, lounge chairs and multiple rounds for people to stand at while our guests ate Hors D'oeuvres and drank alcohol while waiting for us to take our personal one-on-one photos on top of The Grand Hall's Rooftop Terrace. The venue also provided a bridal suite and a grooms suite for the 'getting ready' process. Dom, the Bar Manager, was very informative about which alcohol would suit our wedding day best and made sure to find us our preferred Champagne and we even got to choose a personal cocktail for both the bride and groom. The bartenders were extremely sweet and our guests loved how much fun they were having while serving everyone. Tyler and Dom were an amazing pair to work with and they made sure our wedding day was flawless. The space held our 170 person guest count very comfortably and the dance floor was extremely large for all of the tables that fit around it. We could not have imagined having our wedding reception anywhere else, the space was absolutely perfect. The Grand Hall has done an amazing job choosing Tyler and Dom to support us- we wouldn't have wanted to do it with anyone else!

The Grand Hall is an incredible wedding venue. My husband and I had a nightmare COVID scenario and The Grand Hall worked so hard with us to make it work. They let us have a "micro-wedding" in Oct. 2020, and later to come back for a vow renewal with all our family and friends we had originally invited in Oct. 2021. The Grand Hall team was flawless and took amazing care of us at both of our events. If anything went wrong, we had no idea. Our photos are beautiful and the space was so elegant. All of our guests told us how awesome the venue was.

As father of the bride, everything was first class. Every detail handled. Very supportive and responsive staff. Well-coordinated with other vendors. Special kudos for "above and beyond" successful efforts to restore heat on what was the coldest day of the year (2/12/2021). Can't say enough good things.

The Grand Hall was a wonderful venue fir our daughter & son in laws wedding celebration. The attention to every detail from Dom & Tyler exceeded all of our expectations! Guests are still talking about the beautiful space and the “get ready rooms” were incredible!

Not very many people are able to plan two weddings at the same venue with the same team, and we could not be happier with Tyler and Dom’s creativity and genuine interest in making our day(s) special. They were incredibly flexible and tremendous partners throughout the whole experience. Tyler walked us through many different floor plans for both events and showed us pictures of past weddings and events for inspiration. With our numbers changing so often, we had to adjust the floor plan quite a few times. He also helped us quickly whenever we had a question on billing or timing of payments. Dom helped us research some amazing cocktails for our signature cocktails. For our first one, he helped us create the “Should’ve been Singapore Sling” to reflect our cancelled Honeymoon. For our second event, he helped us create “Maldivian Biyadhoo” and suggested that we look into specialty glasses from our vendor Ultrapom. The glasses were very reasonable and made a huge difference. He also worked with us to track down specific wines and liquors and gave us some suggestions. I would recommend doing the high-end liquor package (comes with a free signature cocktail), it was well worth it. There were so many other great benefits at the Grand Hall: 30 minutes on the rooftop, selecting the tower light color, rooms to get ready, and it’s right across from the Hilton President Hotel/Drum Room…. Overall, we had an amazing experience at the Grand Hall and could not be more pleased with the sincere service and experience of the Grand Hall team.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about The Grand Hall! The best day of my whole life was spent here and I wouldn't change one thing. The event space alone is absolutely stunning and has so much opportunity to create the image you're looking for. Tyler the event coordinator and Dom the venue manager were incredible to work with. Each time we met leading up to wedding day they were professional and welcoming and their response time was quick. The day of the wedding was absolutely perfect! Tyler and Dom went above and beyond to make sure the venue was set up the way we designed and the bar ran smoothly. I wish I could relive this day over and over. Again, I cannot recommend this venue enough!

So wonderful we got married here TWICE! We were one of those COVID couples who had to make the decision of whether to have a small, intimate wedding in 2020 or postpone until it was safe to celebrate with all our family and friends. Well, thanks to The Grand Hall, we actually got to do both! We fell in love with The Grand Hall from the moment we visited it back in 2019, and immediately knew this is where we wanted to have our celebration. I don't think we ever could have imagined what the next year would bring, but I can't tell you how grateful we were to work with Tyler and Dom. They were so flexible and accommodating and went out of their way to make sure that our day was perfect despite the COVID situation that was out of our control. We've heard horror stories from other COVID brides and grooms who worked with vendors that weren't willing to work with them despite the circumstances, and our experience was the exact opposite. Because they were so great to work with, we actually decided to have an intimate wedding here in 2020 and a big celebration in 2021, so we got the best of both worlds! In addition to our amazing experience with the staff, we love the downtown vibe of the building and the fact that it's so gorgeous on its own that you don't have to put a lot of effort into planning out elaborate decorations. Also, the bride and groom suites that you can get ready in are clutch! It's so nice not to have to worry about where everyone is getting ready on the day of the wedding. If you're considering The Grand Hall, take it from someone who got married there twice in less than 365 days - do it! You won't be disappointed.

The Grand Hall was the perfect location for our wedding! We delayed and downsized due to COVID, and Tyler and Dom were so easy to work with throughout the process. We loved The Grand Hall from the moment we walked in for our tour, and so did each of our guests. It's so convenient to be able to get ready on site, and the photos on the roof are gorgeous!

Tyler and Dom were an absolute delight to work with. They were able to answer all of my questions throughout the whole process and we're quick to respond. We wanted to change a few things for the seating chart and they were able to completely change it quickly and it worked out perfectly. They were very laid back and just overall easy to work with. We can't say enough about their help and overall work.

Talk about stunning and exquisite!!! The Grand Hall was absolutely a dream wedding venue for my husband and I. We celebrated our 10 years wedding renewal in style at the one and only beautiful historical Grand Hall. From the start of our wedding until the end Tyler and Dom and staff did an outstanding job of professionalism, service and class. We were blown away by everything. The Grand Hall was truly a dream reception venue! We had to downsize our wedding due to COVID, but Dom and Tyler were amazing to work with and were so flexible in making sure it was still the best possible day for us. We decided to have a large reception next year when it's safe to have big crowds again, and we've already booked The Grand Hall because we loved it so much. From the wedding party suites on site to get ready at to the grand staircase entrance to every tiny detail, it was the perfect reception venue for us and we can't wait to work with them again next year!

The Grand Hall is such a unique venue—you can’t go wrong. Tyler and Dom helped us through planning, replanning (due to pandemic) and day of. Tyler was there with my wedding planner coordinating everything. He helped me with my veil when it was blowing in the wind, he always made sure my bridesmaids and groomsmen were comfortable and checked in multiple times to make sure everything was on track. I cannot imagine getting married anywhere else. All of my guests were astounded by the beauty of the venue. It definitely made our special day one of a kind.

The Grand Hall lived up to its name and was the perfect venue for our fall wedding. While we had been stressing about the venue decision, we knew the Grand Hall was the one as soon as we saw it. The Art Deco architecture throughout space is stunning and timeless. We were concerned the space might be too large for our event (approximately 175 people), but the in-house team did a great job at spacing everything to balance the bar area/dance floor/tables. The Bridal and Groom suites were extremely convenient and were really put to good use. We did our "First Look" on the morning of the wedding on the 31st floor's terrace, and despite some heavy wind/cloud cover, it turned out perfect. I also wanted to thank the management for allowing us extreme flexibility when it came to changes in the bar packages. While the venue altered the options, we were able to still receive either comparable or superior options at no extra cost to us for the hassle (these changes were also proactively discussed with us well in advance of our wedding). We can't thank the team at the Grand Hall enough for making our wedding day go so smoothly.

Absolutely beautiful space and the most wonderful staff! Everyone was so easy to work with, responsive, helpful, etc. And you just cant bet the space, hands down one of the more gorgeous places in KC. They made planning easy, the day went off without a hitch. Our guests were in awe. Thank you thank you thank you!

We booked the Grand Hall as our reception venue within two days of being engaged! After seeing photos on social media and reading reviews, there was no question about booking with the Grand Hall for our November wedding. The space itself is one of a kind and so unique to Kansas City. Because of this, we knew our guests would also love it and they did! The mezzanine level was perfect for our cocktail hour and guests had plenty of space to enjoy themselves. The ballroom is so spacious that it allows for couples to have the room set up in various ways. We spent most of the day getting ready at the Grand Hall and utilized the space for our pictures. By the time the reception began, we really understood why everyone said the space was so magical! With the uplighting from Fernando Productions and the floral with Hitched, everything came to life! Overall, the service at the Grand Hall couldn't have been better. We appreciated everything that Jessica, Lauren, and the team did to make our day so memorable. They were quick to answer our emails, especially as our day came closer about table set ups, coat check, etc. Our ceremony was offsite and ended sooner than we expected. Most of our Guests showed up to the Grand Hall sooner than we had intended. However, Jessica and Lauren worked with our planner at Hitched to jump into action for the cocktail hour. Overall, this space and the service is one of the reasons why our day was so magical! Do not hesitate to book with the Grand Hall as it is the most beautiful venue in town!

Our November 2019 wedding at The Grand Hall was absolutely fabulous! The building is beautiful and has so much character and the staff are on point! Thank you so much for such a memorable day for us and our guests!

When I first stepped into The Grand Hall in search of the perfect venue, my first thoughts were that the space looked like an elegant scene from a Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire movie. As a HUGE classic film fan—and as someone with a HUGE family needing lots of space—I knew The Grand Hall would be my venue of choice. The guests could not stop gushing about the service and the buildings elegance. The team was excellent to work with, very friendly and helpful! From the moment I entered the venue on Wedding Day to the moment I left a married woman, I felt like Cinderella in a beautiful ballroom. If I could give The Grand Hall more than 5 stars, I would! Definitely recommend this venue to all!

I am MoG and The Grand Hall is a Stunning Venue! Jessica was awesome-very accommodating to work with. The suites for the wedding party were perfect. The Bar Mgr and Bartenders were great! The signature cocktail was an old fashion which received rave reviews including other cocktails ordered by guests. They worked seamlessly with our wedding planner which made for an incredible event everyone is still talking about. We all stayed across the street at the Hilton President Hotel, which was ideal!

This venue is absolutely breathtaking! It turns any reception into the most elegant affair. The Grand Hall came recommended to us from several different people. As soon as we walked in the doors we knew it was the place for us but we had no idea exactly how beautiful it would be on our wedding day. The staff was amazing to work with and made the process very easy. By far the most beautiful venue in KC!

Our wedding was an absolute dream thanks to the ladies at The Grand Hall. They did everything to make our day perfect, were super easy to work with and were always enthusiastic and super sweet. If we asked for something, they made it work. They took a lot of the stress away from the planning. The venue speaks for itself. We wanted a classic, elegant wedding and that is exactly what we got with The Grand Hall.

This venue turned our wedding into a fairy tale! Every part of it felt so luxurious and grand. The space is absolutely stunning, all of the girls there are incredible, and my coordinator went so above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect - thinking of all those little things I didn't and helping to make sure they got done! Every question I had was answered with perfect clarity, and they worked with me every step of the way. I knew every guest at my wedding had an amazing time, which was really the most important thing to me and my groom. The location was ideal, right across the street from the event hotel, the Hilton President, was very reassuring to me that everyone would be able to safely get to and from the wedding after enjoying our open bar. The views of the city from the rooftop terrace were incredible, and we were able to get so many beautiful pictures of just the groom and I up there on the big day. It is comfortable any time of year since it is indoors, it is so absolutely stunning that you won't even want to add many decorations, but it is so open that you can't add too many. Despite the large open feel, our small(er) wedding of 130 felt very intimate and close. I have no regrets with my decision to get married at The Grand Hall. It, and the amazing people that come with it, allowed our wedding to be everything we dreamed it could be, and then some!

The Grand Hall is absolutely STUNNING. The tall ceiling, beautiful staircases, elegant fixtures and gold/metallic accents - my husband and I fell in love with the space 100%! However, I did not rate 5/5 stars for a few reasons. 1. Your space rental comes with a special photo session on their rooftop Beacon Lounge balcony, included! It's so beautiful, especially at sunset, check out their photos to see what I mean. The staff even was accommodating enough to allow us to have two mini photo sessions because we had an outfit change, which I was very grateful for. Yet when we arrived at the top floor for our photo shoot, we were greeted by ~25 strangers - tenants of the apartment having a celebration. Okay. Jessica apologized to us and went to talk with them, we went and took photos on the balcony. She later said something about them not having reserved the space properly. I figured they would be asked to leave and be gone by the time we changed our outfits for the second shoot, but they weren't. Still there. Jessica did not explain why they were not asked to leave. This space was contractually ours. My husband and I never got to take any photos inside the Beacon Lounge, because it was being occupied by 25 strangers. I brought this fact up to Jessica later and mentioned how it upset me, and received no explanation. 2. The bar was not stocked properly. We bit the bullet and purchased the premium bar, because it was important to my husband's family to provide certain alcohol, and the venue requires you to use their in house bar. At our meeting, my husband offered to make suggestions to help them properly stock the bar, as he already knew which specific liquors in our package that his family would primarily be drinking. They told us it was unnecessary; they had a system for stocking the bar, and if anything ran out during the night, it would be restocked. Okay, great. Prior to our ceremony starting, my dad had to ask them to replace an incorrect beer selection. At 7pm, barely into our cocktail hour, they were out of one liquor. Not sure when it was restocked, but I was told it eventually was, and then ran out again around 11. About an hour before our reception ended, I was personally trying to get a drink at the bar - and was told they were out of 3 of the 6 liquors we chose in our package. How does that happen if you're properly stocking the bar with the overpriced fees we paid you? It doesn't. We offered ahead of time to provide valuable input, because my husband knew there might be a problem. We were told there wouldn't be an issue, and there was. When I brought it up to Jessica, she first tried to deny it, until I explained that it was to ME personally that the bartenders told they were out of alcohol. She backtracked. There were many, many things I loved about our wedding day. As I said before, I would still recommend the Grand Hall to ANYONE, as it is a hands-down gorgeous space that I haven't seen anything in the area compare to. Their bride and grooms' suites are perfect and legitimately smell like perfume and cologne, respectively, in such a classy way and I have no idea how they make that happen. I would choose them again in a heartbeat. But I would also caution anyone choosing them to ask all the hard questions, and make sure you are getting what you paid for. They're a new venue, and it shows at times, but I wish them all the success in the world in the future. 3/5 for the staff support we received, 12/10 for the venue itself.

This might sound crazy, but my husband and I booked this venue before we even saw it. Luckily, we got the best venue imaginable and it was the best decision we ever made! My parents helped us out when we were extremely busy and already behind looking at venues. They had an appt and a nearby venue and just stumbled across the Grand Hall since it was also on our list. They knocked on the door without an appt and was given a tour. At some point during the appointment, my dad turned to my mom and said, “this is it.” When I called to schedule a tour to see for myself, I was informed there was only one Saturday left in the summer. So we decided to put down a deposit that day sight unseen after the rave reviews from my parents. My fiancé and I went and saw it a few days after and it was everything we dreamed of! With the Grand Hall we didn’t have to compromise on anything that we would have at so many other venues. We got the perfect location, gorgeous bridal suite AND groom suite (which is hard to come by), a dramatic staircase rooftop for pictures, the coolest mezzanine for cocktail hour, and of course the stunning ceremony/reception space. On top of all that, we had the privilege of working with their team. Jessica, Rose, and Lauren were all incredible to work with and take so much time and effort to ensure your day is exactly what you want. Also, have to recommend doing a pomegranate moscow mule with them as a signature drink! They were the biggest hit ever at our wedding! Having our wedding at the Grand Hall was everything I dreamed of and more!

The Grand Hall was the perfect venue for our wedding and reception. It’s beauty fit my vision to a tee. Despite changes with the staff, there was a smooth transition. All of our guests loved how beautiful the venue looked. The bridal suite is the perfect getting ready spot. There was enough room for all of my bridesmaids, mother, mother-in-law, and myself to get ready. The guys enjoyed their groom suite as well. I would highly recommend The Grand Hall for an elegant, timeless wedding.

The Grand Hall in 3 words: Elegance, Class, Gorgeous!!!! We received endless compliments from guests about how incredible our venue was, and we agree! Some said it was the best they'd ever been to and that we scored a 10/10 for venue! The bridal and groom suites were incredible, and the rooftop photo shoot makes for gorgeous photos. There are a few reasons why I did not give the 5th star: 1. You have to use their in-house bar services, which are phenomenal, but they certainly get ya for every penny so be prepared to have a pricy bar tab! 2. We did not get a Friday night rehearsal, which you kind of need if you plan to use that beautiful staircase. A wedding was booked that night and we had to do our rehearsal the day of our wedding which was fine, but not ideal. The Grand Hall is more expensive so we figured it would be included, but be aware that I think you have to pay more to reserve the Friday night rehearsal option. 3. There were several times in the process that I felt our wedding got lost in the mix. Granted we did go through a few coordinators during our long engagement, and The Grand Hall is ALWAYS booked and busy, but I felt that I had to stay on top of details and remind the team of details throughout the process even up until the week before our wedding (which made us uncomfortably nervous). That said, their team is fun, dynamic, and professional and between them and our amazing planner the day went perfect. Overall, if you are looking for an elegant, classic, timeless location you can't go wrong with the Grand Hall. Even with the few negatives, its beauty and the feel of the place outweighs them and we would probably choose it over and over again! PS - they allow dogs for a limited amount of the wedding!! We were able to have our German Shepherds stop by for a photo shoot - very accommodating and made the day more memorable!

The minute we walked into The Grand Hall, we knew it was our venue! The building speaks for itself - beautiful, full of history, and brings a sense of romance to all who enter. The team at The Grand Hall is wonderful to work with. They are enthusiastic, efficient, helpful, friendly, and fun. All of our other vendors were happy to hear we chose The Grand Hall, because The Grand Hall has formed good working relationships with so many vendors in Kansas City. Our guests were amazed with the venue, which provided the perfect intimate ceremony space, while also accommodating a large group of people for cocktail hour and dinner, and a perfect sized dance floor for the dancing that ensued throughout the entire night. We are SO happy with our decision to have our wedding at The Grand Hall, and I can't recommend it enough!

Ever since moving into the building, I dreamed of having my wedding at The Grand Hall and the venue didn't disappointment. The day of the wedding was perfect and all the guests raved about the ballroom and the decor. Communication from the team was great. My only complaint was the day before the wedding when I had paid extra to rent the space for the rehearsal and for our vendors to have extra time to set up. Due to a large event the night before, it took some time to remove all the equipment and my vendors could not start setting up until two hours after my allotted time started. I feel this was not adequately acknowledged and/or addressed, particularly as quite a bit of money was paid to the venue and no apology was received for this inconvenience or an adjustment in the cost this day. Otherwise, would highly recommend this venue to couples.

I cannot say enough positive things about The Grand Hall! The venue itself is gorgeous and the coordinators are fantastic!!! We had the most amazing night! Any and every question I had, Jessica was prompt to answer them! The best part about this venue is the bride and groom suites! It's the most accommodating venue. We each had 8 people in our wedding party, all of whom fit perfectly in the rooms and could easily get ready for the day in! Since I chose to have my ceremony and reception in the same location, it was really important to me that I had some sort of aisle to walk down and let me tell you, walking those stairs with my dad was the most grand entrance I could have possibly had. The Grand Hall made all of my wedding dreams come true. We got compliment after compliment about the venue! Thank you guys for everything!

The Grand Hall was the first venue I toured after I got engaged and nothing else could compare to it after! Talk about love at first site! The classic elegance of the building is unmatched and the service of the staff is the same! McCall was so helpful through out the entire planning process and made sure everything was perfect and smooth on the day of! The bridal suite is the best in Kansas City and I took advantage of the early entry to spend the morning getting ready there and relaxing with my bridal party. The grand staircases leading down to the ceremony and reception area were exactly what I was looking for and allowed for a one of kind entrance. 5 stars all around! I hope to experience the venue again as a guest in the future!

After looking at numerous locations in Kansas City for my daughter’s wedding reception, we happened by The Grand Hall in October 2016 before they were officially opened. Once we had our tour my daughter was sold. The elegance and beauty of the venue took our breath away. The bridal suite is gorgeous and spacious for everyone to get ready. And the boys had a great time in the groom’s room as well. We had a cocktail hour on the mezzanine floor and heard nothing but wonderful comments from our guests about the venue. They all loved roaming around looking at the ballroom below. The history and classic elements of the hall are simply gorgeous that no other decorating was needed other than the tables. The staff were very accommodating with our need to get my mother with her walker from the mezzanine down to the main floor. The location cannot be beat with hotels within walking distance as well as Power and Light for entertaining guests who traveled from out of state and stayed a few days. There is no other venue in KC like The Grand Hall. It is appropriately named as it is GRAND!

The Grand Hall is truly a dream wedding venue. After looking at a few venues, it only took stepping in and meeting the staff to know that this was the venue for us. From the beautiful detail, to the amazing, one-of-a-kind staff, the incredible preferred caterer list, and everything else... I wish we could get married and do the whole day over again!! The bride / groom suite are the perfect spot to start your day and everything was set and ready to go from the moment we arrived. We were a little bit concerned with our large guest count and The Grand Hall handled it flawlessly. They drafted the perfect floor plan, etc... to ensure that everyone was comfortable and there was plenty of space to dance the night away. This venue is truly one of the best and I plan on recommending it to every single person I know with an upcoming wedding!

I can't say enough great things about the Grand Hall ladies but especially McCall. The monthly check ins, the easiness and the accommodations made my life SO easy! They are flexible but also knowledgeable in all things weddings - I want to have another event just so we can party here again!

The beauty of this venue really sells itself. The “perks” of using the venue for your event keeps you enticed. Meeting with the staff makes the decision final. When my husband and I were looking for venues for our wedding, the Grand Hall was in the top 5. The tour however made the decision a no-brainer for us. We met with Nicholle (her personality meshed PERFECT with ours), she showed us the amazing space (we were left breathless), and she told us that we could pick the color of the tower lights on our wedding day! SOLD!!!! Working with the ladies at the Grand Hall was a delight. They are all very professional. They respond to emails QUICKLY, (unlike some of the other venues on our original list.) McCall was our go-to girl. She was spectacular. She was very accommodating to us and our guests, she really went above and beyond. The venue was soooo clean and beautiful the entire day. With 200 guests, I’m sure that was no easy task. We highly recommend The Grand Hall, and would recommend it to anyone hosting any type of event. They do more than just weddings people!!!!!

We had our wedding at the Grand Hall in September and it could not have gone better! From the moment we walked into the space when searching for a venue, we knew it had to be here! The architecture creates a romantic, timeless feel that that requires minimal decorating. Working with Becky was seamless. She handled coordination before the event and during the event with ease and allowed ourselves and guests to enjoy the event freely without concern. We have gotten so many compliments on the beauty of the space and from our guests and could not have asked for a better experience. I would HIGHLY recommend the Grand Hall for your next event.

The Grand Hall at Power & Light is an exceptional venue, and I would encourage any couple beginning their search to look there. You will be blown away with the elegance of the space, as well as the professionalism of the staff. The location is perfect and super convenient with many hotels in the area within walking distance. The venue’s beauty speaks for itself, and tons of décor is not needed from outside vendors. The bridal and groom’s suites are incredible, and the rooftop is such a unique place for photos. My husband and I got married there on September 1, 2018, and I wouldn’t change a thing about our special day. The planning process was extremely easy with all of the help from our event manager, Becky. She was very organized and quick to respond to my emails. Going in to the wedding day, I had 100% confidence that everything would run smoothly, and it did. I didn’t have to worry about a single thing due to The Grand Hall team, and the rest of my exceptional vendors. My guests were awed by the space, and I received many compliments from them on what an awesome venue we chose. You won’t be disappointed in choosing The Grand Hall!

The Grand Hall was a stunning venue for our ceremony and reception! Our guests snapped so many photos and we received tons of compliments! I only had a few issues. For instance we were told twice (once at booking and again at the rehearsal dinner) that free parking should be fairly easy to find due to our wedding being on a Sunday— (this was one my first questions because I know how downtown can be) However our guests still ended up spending $20 each to park their cars because of an event at the sprint center. Now to be fair, there is an option to rent the Grand Halls very expensive parking lot but we opted out cause we were told parking wouldn’t be an issue. Another issue I had was the fact that although we paid thousands of dollars to rent the space, strangers were still allowed to enter for scheduled “tours” during our decorating time. Some of them, while waiting on their tour to start, even walked down the aisle as it was being decorated. Now we had NO knowledge the “event space” of the building would still be open to the public so I chose to speak with my Grand Hall coordinator about it but she said she didn’t see anything wrong with it and that it is their space and they can do as they please with their space...and it is something they have always done. Um ok. She did say I could speak with her manager but frankly her response shocked me so I didn’t pursue. While our coordinator was very responsive and professional all the way up to the wedding, multiple family members noticed on the day of the wedding that it felt like we were “bothering” her whenever we had any request. You know that feeling you get when someone says “that’s not my job.” Yes, that was the mood, (eventhough it was her job and what we were asking for was a reasonable request) For example, our request(s) to get into the locked bridal suite that housed all of our belongings...You want to have access to your items AND also keep them secure. If you are not allowed to have a key, the coordinator should not be annoyed to come let you in or take their sweet time in doing so. Again she was never unprofessional per say, just not the helpful attitude you hope to get after you paid so much for service. Overall beautiful space, but customer service needs to improve to match the price.

The Grand Hall just happened to be the last of 10 venues that we looked at for our wedding and as soon as I walked in I knew that was going to be the spot! It has a ornate upscale feel and we loved all the gold and hanging lanterns. The Bride and grooms suite really sold it for me too, it was unlike anything I had seen in Kansas City. Even the bathrooms were glamorous! Working with the staff was such a pleasant experience they really did make everything simple leading up to the big day and really accommodated every ask for the day of! We got so many compliments from our guests on the space and even I was in awe of how everything looked once it was all set up! This is also the perfect venue to have a full stage and band! There is so much space and having a band and large dance floor was one of the top things I wanted and it couldn't have worked out better here! All in all, we had the best experience with this venue and would HIGHLY recommend it to any bride/groom looking for the perfect space to have their perfect night!

OH. MY. GOSH. Can I get married again?? The Grand Hall is without a doubt the most beautiful venue I have ever seen, and I cannot believe I get to say that we had our wedding reception there. McCall and the whole Grand Hall team made our day incredibly organized, beautiful, and easy, we haven't stopped talking about it. My husband and I had time to go to the top of the building, just us two to take photos which was an amazing time to spend together, and the mezzanine floor was perfect for our cocktail hour. So many of our guests have said that this was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. Although I am biased since it was mine, I cannot wait to attend another wedding at the Grand Hall to experience the beauty again. Thank you Grand Hall team! We are so appreciative of everything you did to make our day perfect.

Getting married at the Grand Hall was a dream. My husband and I were thrilled to have such a historical and elegant venue to vow our lives to each other and celebrate with our family and friends! McCall was so sweet and amazingly supportive in our planning and execution of the event. Thank you to The Grand Hall staff for maintaining a fabulous building that will forever be our favorite part of the Kansas City skyline!

WOW! Where do I even start. The second that my mom and I walked into The GrandHall... I knew I had to have my wedding there. The event space is breathtaking and can hold a lot of people. The bridal suite is absolutely stunning. The fun part about the The Grand Hall is that you can do some much with the space. I used black, blush, and white linens. However, I have seen other awesome colors used too. I highly recommend having your wedding there. The staff were helpful and made me feel special. I loved being a Grand Hall Bride. I can't stop saying awesome things about The Grand Hall.

We had our wedding reception May 26, 2018 at The Grand Hall at Power and Light and couldn’t have imagined a more amazing and beautiful night! The Grand Hall was the very first venue we toured after getting engaged Dec. 26, 2016. We toured in December 31, 2018. It had our hearts immediately. We looked at about 12 other venues but nothing even came close. It was a mutual decision that our hearts were with The Grand Hall. The venue is so classic and elegant and the suites can’t be beaten. Nicholle was the lead coordinator for the Grand Hall on my wedding day. She was nothing short of amazing. I was that type A-controlling bride and Nicholle responded to my hundreds of emails and questions immediately. It never took more than a day or 2 to get a question answered (and normally not even that long, usually a couple hours after I sent an email I would get a reply). She was at GH bright and early wedding day, we did early entrance and arrived at 8 am to get ready in the GORGEOUS bridal suite. She was there all day and night long to help with anything that needed help. At one point she even helped bustle my dress on the elevator when a couple buttons came undone. Between her and my coordinator I felt so taken care! While it is on the pricier side, if your budget allows TGH is a classic, elegant, timeless space. I’m so happy we chose the Grand Hall for our wedding reception.

The Grand Hall was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding. Becky is the best coordinator to work with, she is super timely on emails, etc. and is so patient and willing to work with you to have the absolute best day. They were so accommodating and made for the best reception. If this venue will fit your budget, I HIGHLY recommend it. If you aren't super into decorating, it doesn't matter because the Grand Hall is so beautiful on its own. Honestly, I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful place to celebrate our favorite day.

The Grand Hall was one of the first decisions that we made regarding our wedding planning and it was one of the best! The venue is so beautiful and made for the perfect reception venue. Camille was so easy and fun to work with. She made sure that every detail we had discussed was well executed. The Grand Hall went over and beyond to make our reception wonderful!
