My fiancé and I toured this hotel as a possible wedding venue with Marco Buelna. We loved it and everything they were offering. He was very professional. They offer 2 different rooms. We wanted the larger of the two and he told us the minimum food and beverage cost. We agreed to that cost to reserve the larger space. It was right before the holiday weekend so I expected the contract that Tuesday as it was Friday, but he insisted the contract would come to us Friday evening. It did not so I sent an email/text. We got it the next day. As we were reviewing the contract the date was wrong, there were errors with the payment dates, he did not include the discounted blocked room rates or have the courtesy block included for that matter. The biggest red flag was that the room we wanted was not listed. So I replied to the email with all these questions. The I noticed that the contract expired within 3 days of us receiving it which was weird as it was a holiday weekend. I called that Tuesday and he was not in that day, again weird to expire a contract when your not available for questions. So the front desk transferred me to the manager so I left a message as I was worried about losing the space with how the contract was set up to put you on second tier priority if not received. I didn’t hear back from him but got a text from the bot via Marco saying he would fix it when he returned. Well come the next day we heard nothing, so then I had to call he said he would address my email and fix everything. Well later that evening Marco calls back and says they don’t reserve the rooms… then further tries to tell us that they think we would fit better in the smaller space because of our guest count (100). Keep in mind they were going to divide that space for our ceremony and per Marco the room would not be flipped and the remaining space would be used for the reception. So we wouldn’t be getting the full space anyway. When we questioned why the guest count would matter as we agreed to meet the minimum required, he repeated the same thing but then says he’ll talk to his team. He also has stated that if a larger guest count came in he would bump us to the smaller room, which is a big issue. I asked why they would continue to offer that date and time if we were contracted for that space by way of the food and her carafe minimum. He doesn’t call back the next day so I had my fiancé call him. He then tells her no he can’t reserve the space and that we could still be potentially bumped into the smaller room which we did not like. So then she questioned how they would take our money for the bigger space and then put us in a space that was 2000 less when they don’t refund. He then says we’ll the only way he could guarantee is if we were to pay an extra 2-3000!!! I could not believe what I heard and how he tried to get more money out of us. What the North Shore Ballroom was trying to do is get the price for post renovations. Marco’s professionalism deteriorated after that tour and the business ethics went with it. I would not recommend this venue to couples. We did not sign the contract and told him we were no longer interested in moving forward.
My husband and I couldn't be happier, truly, with our perfect wedding day. The team at the Four Points managed to take all the stress out of planning a wedding. They really took care of us and made sure everything was perfect so we could enjoy our special day.
Robyn was absolutely amazing to work with! I had no worries at all the day of, or leading up to the big day. I explained my vision for decorations, gave her a few photos and she and her team nailed it! The food was perfect, four months later and we are still talking about it! Perfect night!
My hotel block through this hotel was very stress free, which is needed during this stress filled time in your life! They gave us (the bride and groom) a hotel room for free for having the block through them. We were told by all of our guests that the rooms were wonderful and very clean and well taken care of. There was also a bar in the hotel which stayed open for us after the wedding was over.
geat job
Had a great experience throughout planning, but unfortunately for our reception numerous things went wrong - the Banquet Manager was "sick" which we didn't find out about until after we had made a complaint and since he was the one who knew several specifics that were happening that night, I found myself having to deal with situations no bride should have to. Also, our "open bar" until midnight ran out of beer at 9pm, which we were guaranteed would not happen even after we have warned that this was a heavy drinking crowd...enough said.
Where do I begin, how about with Robin Cole. She is a nice lady but hard to get ahold of, takes forever(if she even does) to get back to you, and can be unorganized. For as much time and money, especialy money, you are spending there, you would hope communication would be much better. It is an extremely huge day that you are planning there, so you need to feel as comfortable as possible but I didn't. Don't get me wrong the venue and food were WONDERFUL. It's been a month already and I'm still hearing about how beautiful the hotel was and how delish the food was. Prices are decent, and the rest of the staff is great, very polite. Dee, on the other hand, is sooooo great. I love that guy! He is so wonderful, we met him a few weeks before and was told that he would be there that day to help. As far as I know, he did everything that day, and I'm glad he did. After seeing everything he did(decorating, organizing, directing, set up) he is one of the best guys there. I felt so relieved and relax with him there, very plesant to work with!!
I loved working with Robin and coordinating all the little details about our wedding reception. She was so accomodating, the staff set all of our items up for us, and we received many compliments about the venue. My only concern is that she is so busy, and sometimes days go by with an unanswered phone call or email. But overall we are very happy with our decision!
