The Owl House went above and beyond for our wedding! My husband and I were thrilled with the exceptional service and unforgettable food they provided for our wedding!
Mary, the Event Coordinator, was a dream to work with. She is thoughtful, w...ell organized, and sweet as can be! Having never hired a caterer before, Mary unwearyingly walked me through every detail. She promptly responded to my hundreds of emails. If she couldn’t answer my questions right away she would let me know when I could expect an answer. She helped me stay within our budget while still getting our perfect reception dinner. She set up a wonderful tasting and an extremely helpful venue visit while being mindful of our busy schedules. Mary helped me create my timeline and on the day of she kept everything running flawlessly!
Matty, the Head Chef, is delightful and extremely passionate about his work. At our tasting, Matty enthusiastically described how he would incorporate our favorite foods, produce from our farm and other local farms, and cuisine that reflected our German heritage. He created a cohesive menu while providing substantial options for our guest with special dietary needs including vegan, vegetarian, omnivore, dairy free, gluten free, and nut allergies. We had some major issues the day of the wedding with some of our venue’s kitchen equipment not working. Matty didn’t miss a beat. He did some impressive problem solving and pulled off hors d’oeuvres and dinner without a hitch, all with a smile on his face!
Our guests raved about the food–many said it was the best wedding food they have ever had! The hors d’oeuvres table was kept picturesque and full of blistered shisito peppers drizzled in olive oil & sea salt and a beautiful mezze spread of shiitake mushroom ragout, pickled vegetables, beet hummus, basil arugula walnut pesto, chicken liver mousse, arctic char gravlax, cured meats, crudité, fresh baguettes, and pimento, cheddar, swiss, chèvre cheeses. The buffet dinner featured a beautiful salad with fresh edible flowers and a vibrant cider salad dressing, a wild rice & shiitake salad with currants echoing our black currant signature cocktail, delicious grilled summer vegetables with a bright chimmichurri sauce, a French lentil and roasted fingerling potato salad with a Dijon vinaigrette, cider-brined grilled chicken, and artisan German bratwurst and bockwurst grilled sausages. The servers were professional and pleasant and did an excellent job keeping everything clean and fully stocked!
We highly recommend the Owl House, not only for their delicious food, but for constantly delivering incredible service!
