eception were just steps away from each other. There are so many stunning sceneries in nature for some fabulous wedding photos. Working with Madi and Barb made the planning easier. They were very accommodating to our needs. The food is fantastic as well as the drink offerings. The only feedback is the rooms we had to get ready were not closed off to the public and we had drunk people wandering around disrupting us. Drunk people also disturbed our reception set up. And from the wedding couple suite I could see a family throwing a football right where we had set up our sound system and flowers for the ceremony. When I brought it to Madi's attention she did address it. Overall, more oversight would be appreciated so the wedding party doesn't have to. All considering, the Peninsula Room is a wonderful place to get married and will always be a special place for my husband and I.

itional US wedding ceremony at The Peninsula Room on a Sunday afternoon/evening. Both events were above and beyond what we could have hoped for. Barb, Madi, and the entire team are incredible and I loved working with them - thank you! For our Ghanaian Traditional Ceremony (also somewhat a rehearsal lunch), we held it within Mission Table and took photos outside with family on Genevieve’s Patio. The most incredible part of this entire event was that Barb and the Chef worked with my husband to accommodate a traditional Ghanaian meal including - rice, chicken and beef kabobs, meat pies, and fried plantains. When we first asked if it was a possibility they were excited by the idea and said they were “up for the challenge”. Our Ghanaian guests were incredibly impressed by the food and how well the team was able to mirror the recipes while still bringing their own touch. I honestly still can’t believe we found a venue who could make this happen for us. For our Peninsula Room Ceremony, we got married on The Great Lawn, had cocktail hour on the back patio, and of course the reception in the Peninsula Room. The entire day was a dream. Getting married on The Great Lawn was the most beautiful backdrop for our big day! Madi and Barb were very helpful prior to the wedding and on the day of. They answered my questions and provided advice when needed. I went into the weekend feeling so at ease because I knew everything was buttoned up and taken care of. Of course, the food was amazing at both the cocktail hour and reception. My husband and I raved about the food to our guests following our tasting and it lived up to the hype. Another key note is they are very accommodating of people’s allergies and food restrictions which put myself (I have a few allergies) and my guests with restrictions at ease. I wish I could go back and relive this day forever. Thank you Peninsula Room team for giving us the best day and memories we’ll cherish for a lifetime.

We added a vegan option for the five vegans in our party. The servers and bartender were professional, hard-working and super friendly. The view from the venue is gorgeous. Our guests are still talking about the appetizers, the main course and late night snacks. Barb was extremely kind and generous during the reception (and through the entire process) making sure we ate, stayed hydrated and had a great time. We had always hoped to have our wedding their since our first visit 7 years ago. It truly exceeded our expectations.

ise it was a wedding venue! It is truly a gorgeous location. It is so charming we honestly decided to have fewer outdoor decorations just to appreciate the natural beauty. Madi and Barb go above and beyond to make your day fantastic. They are very responsive to emails throughout the week and patient with the many questions. We utilized the bridal suite for the girls which was perfect for getting ready (even our hair and makeup girls were impressed with the space). The boys used the area adjacent to hang out before the wedding which worked perfectly. It was raining and 55 degrees on our wedding day (much to my horror lol), and I was so torn on whether to do the ceremony outside or inside. They never pressured me and told me they could accommodate either with essentially a moment's notice. We decided to do it outside with light misting and it was still perfect and beautiful. The ceremony was quite shorter than we had expected because of the conditions so the peninsula room extended the open bar for the guests out of the kindness of their hearts. The covered and heated outdoor patio made for the perfect place to warm up after the ceremony for cocktail hour which I was so happy could still be used despite the weather. The reception went perfectly smooth even without a wedding planner so I KNOW their team had quite a hand in that. Honestly the rain ended up making it the most cozy and magical day. 10/10 recommend!

The Peninsula Room itself is beautiful and has a luscious yard for games and a perfect pergola for cocktail hour. This is how you do a northern Michigan wedding! Planning our wedding was easy with Madi. She met with us multiple times to go over details and was highly coordinated and communicative over email. The service at our rehearsal dinner and on our wedding day was out of this world. The servers were extremely prompt, kind, and professional and kept the drinks, appetizers, and food moving and made sure everything came out on time. Our food was delicious. As the bride and groom, we were too busy to sit and enjoy the appetizers but our guests got to eat an incredible selection of delicacies. The dinners were superb. This is not typical wedding food at all. Everything is prepared fresh and with local ingredients. I can't tell you how smoothly our day went - highly recommend this venue for your dream wedding!

ver, it was the staff and experience itself that had us in awe on the day of the event. Everyone was so friendly and committed to ensuring we and our guests had an incredible celebration. Our venue coordinator Madi was very responsive and answered all of our concerns, and she was present on the day ensuring things ran smoothly. The food was exceptional. Many of our friends and family have told us that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. The space itself is so perfect for transitioning from the outdoor ceremony to cocktail hour and then reception. The cocktail hour space is really fun, and we loved that our guests could wander in and out of the reception space with the band to sit outside and enjoy the northern Michigan summer evening. Highly recommend booking your wedding here!!

bit due to a brief rain shower and the staff were so helpful in making alternate accommodations if they were needed. Food, service and accommodations were exceptional. Guests also enjoyed the lovely patio and outdoor fireplace. The Great Lawn is a beautiful setting for an outdoor wedding with the Grand Traverse Bay in the background. Highly recommend this venue for an “Up North” Wedding.

and patio area where we held cocktail hour were gorgeous. The staff was very accommodating to whatever we needed. We wanted a very simple and chill wedding and we got it. All of our guests had a fun time and loved that they could have the option to hang out outside by the fire pit or play yard games or dance or sit inside. There were so many beautiful areas to take pictures. The food was DELICIOUS. We got to work with Barb, who was so kind and personable. As we got closer to our wedding day, communication became a little spottier, which I am guessing is more due to the fact that this wedding season was probably more hectic than normal due to COVID. But, after a second follow-up email we would get a response! Our actual wedding day was perfect and ran very smoothly!

e isn't much else to be said about the ceremony that can't be communicated by looking at the pictures on the website but trust us when we say that the pictures don't bring justice to the pure magic that comes from sunlight shining through those trees on a lovely summer day. For preparation, the bridal suite was just the right size and had the necessary mirrors and hangers for last minute touches. There wasn't a room for the groom to get ready, so make sure you're already wearing your pants when you arrive or you'll be changing in the bathroom. The reception was also excellent. While you do have to move away from the view, the food and drink is certainly worth changing locations. Having everything in the same location made it very smooth for our guests and ourselves. The Peninsula Room itself looks so nice on the inside that it really doesn't need additional decorating (unless that's something you want). The food was excellent - we went with the plated meals, the Harbor Selection, and they had it out way faster than we thought possible. The drinks were a hit too, we had so many comments on how much people liked the North Peak beers. The staff had a great balance of being attentive and friendly, but also never in the way. Our only issue is that communication prior to the wedding was sometimes lacking and we would sometimes have to send multiple emails to get an answer. However, on the day of the wedding, everything went flawlessly, so it's a minor note in our books, just something to be aware of if you are an early planner.

Barb allowed us to have a dessert table, and we needed help setting up a couple of tables during the transition of cocktail hr to dinner and the staff was so accommodating and swift. I loved that we were able to park our cars overnight and since our wedding was a Friday, we were able to set up at whatever time on Thursday for as long as we wanted. The Peninsula room also offered beautiful linens, chiavari chairs, and colored napkins. One thing my husband and I noticed, and our guests did too, that we would change, are the cocktails. We had an open bar and The Peninsula Room allowed us to have signature drinks which were so tasty (he had a paloma and I had a vodka basil lemonade); however, they were extremely weak, as if there was no alcohol in any of our drinks! Our guests either asked for double shots of vodka or vodka on ice or switched to wine. So I would make note of that if you were to have a wedding with them.

We had the privilege of working with Barb Olson over the whole planning process for both the lawn ceremony AND the reception and I have to say, she was attentive, friendly, clear, and just made what could have been an overwhelming process - simple and enjoyable. I also can't say enough about the Peninsula Room. The outside wedding location - overlooking the Bay in Traverse City is absolutely stunning. The Peninsula Room and the accompanying garden spaces were absolute perfection for cocktail time, dinner and all the normal wedding fun - dancing, cake cutting, etc. We heard from every one of our guests that the food was perfect. The filet mignon, whitefish, pork & vegetarian offerings thrilled every person at the wedding. The bar offerings - beer, wine & alcohol were all excellent. I have some wine snob friends - and even they were raving. I highly recommend The Peninsula Room and Barb Olson for your upcoming wedding. A++++!!!

She provided helpful insight for ceremony logistics and reception layouts, as this was my first time doing an event at this venue. The day of the wedding, Barb was there with her staff to ensure everything was set up correctly and on time. It was a rainy day so we used the backup location inside the reception room for the ceremony. They were very flexible with the rain and allowing the couple to decide what they wanted to do. Staff was quick to get everything ready to hold the ceremony indoors, helped hold the doors open for the processional, and were just all around very attentive all day and evening. All the catering staff were willing to help if asked for something, and everyone was on point with dinner, bar, and dessert service. Professional, friendly, and on top of it. I had no concerns regarding the catering, which freed me up to ensure everything else was going smoothly. The food was SO good! It is such a neat location and the wedding was lovely.

Of course, the setting cannot be topped. We had the ceremony on the lawn and with it, the stunning view and northern Michigan vibe to be among the trees there. The Peninsula Room was perfect for food, drink and dancing with the bonus of having a pergola and lawn space to get outside for a change of pace or to sit by the fire at the firepit. We had simple decorations and the room shone. Not only was the evening a great one, the planning process was also wonderful - smooth and professional. Highly recommend!

Our food selection was very important to us so when we saw that they prepare all the food on site and offer plated options we were sold. Every meal was delicious, all of our guests agreed. From cocktail hour to late night pizza, the Peninsula Room did an amazing job. It felt so relaxed but very classy as well which was exactly what we wanted. The staff was friendly and we always had answers to our questions very quickly, it was the easiest wedding planning I had ever heard of. Many of our guests said that this venue and the experience as a whole made it the best wedding they had ever attended. I would reccomend this venue to all couples, whether it's a small elopement or a grand ceremony. The site is breathtaking, the food is excellent, and the experience you and your guests will have here will last a lifetime.

the task of putting together a wedding, but Barb, Kate, and the team made things wonderfully easy for us. The location is visually stunning and with an interesting, rich history. (Ask Barb about the ghost — I think her name was Genevieve?) We had a rainy wedding, which made the beautiful, rustic space incredibly cozy. And the food was REALLY outstanding. I mean, we were impressed during the initial tasting but assumed that it was easier to cook for 2 than 100, but the food at the wedding was even better than the tasting! We got so many compliments from our guests. Where this team really shines though is in the details... the little things you could never anticipate. We had an issue with our table place cards and they helped fix it. There were probably a ton of these types of issues that cropped up that they handled. In another example, we had to improvise and the reading of our vows inside due to the rain. My mother had gotten us these charmingly cheesy Mr & Mr champagne flutes that I had completely forgotten about. Barb somehow remembered these and quietly slipped in with them, right after we finished our vows, so we could toast each other. It's such a minor detail, but it's one that sticks out because I remembered thinking, "Wow, these guys are really exceptional!" It's clear that this is a group of seasoned professionals who were able to work with our complete lack of planning skills and really help make this day so special for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

to make our celebration perfect. Even when the dessert vendor didn't set up the display as expected, Kate's team stepped in so we would not have to worry before the ceremony. In addition, the location is stunning. The outdoor ceremony space was perfect for our 110 person wedding (though a little windy for our day!) and the Peninsula Room looks even better with the dimmed lighting and tables set up. The outdoor fireplace and S'mores station were a huge hit with our guests, as were the grounds for additional photos. We couldn't have been happier with our choice!

The cocktail hour location under the pergola almost doesn't even need any decoration because of the gardens they have already there. & the FOOD. I cannot tell you how many guests told us it was the best food, let alone WEDDING food, they had ever had. They also have all their own spirits and wine giving a great local touch on it all. I looked at a lot of venues in TC and nothing spoke to me like this one. Recommend 100 times over!

r choice of venue. The lawn space for yard games was fantastic for kiddos as they had plenty of room to play. Our tasting was delicious, and on the big day everything was just as good as we had remembered it! We did not hear a single complaint about appetizers or any part of the main meal - only compliments! Kate and her staff are also beyond good. Kate was very accessible for questions leading up to our wedding and very thorough when going through final details the week before our event. We had an unfortunate mishap with our cake and Kate was prepared to send staff to the store to make certain we had dessert. Everything went so perfectly and even as the bride I can honestly say I wasn't worrying about a thing the day of our wedding! The only thing I have to say that is not 100% positive is that we did have a few guests end up with wet bottoms after the ceremony from chairs with cracks in them...the chairs appeared to be dry but there must have been water stuck inside some cushions that seeped out over time. Even so, looking back we cannot believe we ever felt we had to weigh our options when selecting a venue - The Peninsula Room is honestly a no brainer. Book this venue now for a stress free day and never look back!

It was nearly as turnkey as a wedding can probably get with the price including the linens and tables and flatware in addition to the food and drinks and space. It also included a beautiful area upstairs for us to finish getting ready. We worked with Kate to be able to come set up early which saved money on decor and let my OCD-bride self relax a little and we got to rehearse on the lawn with wine in our hands the day before to make sure it was all perfect. Our guests haven’t stopped gushing about the views and the appetizers and the beers and the custom cocktails and the beautiful patio and the delicious food. We couldn’t have dreamt up a more idyllic wedding! Dessert s’mores on the patio were also a memorable hit! And the sunset photos on the water and in the vines are going to be some of our favorites I know. Thank you Peninsula Room crew so much for making our day easy and incredible!

She really went the extra mile to make sure that things went as planned and that our wedding party was taken of. The venue and space is beautiful and our guests were blown away by the picturesque setting and all of the things to explore and see on the property. We took advantage of setting up some lawn games and used the bonfire pit, and I highly recommend using all that the property has to offer. The reception space was cozy, but comfortable and very intimate and personal feeling. All of our guests absolutely loved the food and the large beverage selection. I highly recommend this venue for not only its ambience and food, but for also the wonderful staff that helps to make sure that your day goes smoothly and is special.

There is a restaurant on site, but everyone was very friendly and stayed in the restaurant and didn't bother the wedding. Food was incredible! My only warning was that the event planners do have a bit of the Traverse City mindset and it takes usually a week for a response to emails, though phone calls are usually quicker. If you're getting married in TC, this is something you will find with most vendors, so don't let it steer you away! I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, but still relaxed venue!
