The Peninsula Room

We hosted a rehearsal dinner in the Bay and Tap Rooms this past Friday. The venue is spectacular! Working with Madi was a dream; she is professional, understanding and can make things happen, even allowing for a last minute guest count addition. The food was absolutely wonderful. The menu offered a good variety to choose from so there was something to please everybody. We added a vegan option for the five vegans in our party. The servers and bartender were professional, hard-working and super friendly. The view from the venue is gorgeous. We can’t wait to return for a visit!

We just had our wedding here on a Friday! It was ABSOLUTELY stunning! There is nothing like it. The character of the venue is something you can’t find anywhere else. A great for venue for photos as well. They have beach access for gorgeous sunsets and water views. The staff was wondering. So easy to work with. Food was unreal. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about it. The drinks were so refreshing. They have everything you need and more. I will recommend this venue to anyone!

I honestly cannot recommend this venue enough! Barb, Madi, and the entire staff at The Peninsula Room are truly sensational! From the very start, the communication was great and they made the entire process effortless. During the day of, Madi was amazing and went above and beyond so many times to make sure we had the best day. If food is important to you, the food at The Peninsula Room was by far the best wedding food I've ever had! All of our guests are still talking about it. Highly recommend the carving station!! Our guests also loved that the bar had so many options that you could literally get any drink you wanted. The bartenders and staff were great and did a fabulous job! I highly recommend checking out The Peninsula Room.

My family and I were incredibly thankful for an amazing Peninsula Room experience. Barb and Madi were the best to work with. This beautiful venue exceeded our expectations in every way. Barb, you were right on this destination, they did come and we had an awesome turnout. Everything from the beautiful picturesque ceremony spot to the cocktail hour to reception was amazing! Our guests were very happy with the quality and quantity of the food and also the special vegan option was delicious. Another bonus that was greatly appreciated was the nonalcoholic beer and wine option, thank you! A week later and we’re still talking about how perfect and some said magical our daughter’s wedding was. Lastly, your staff was exceptional in every way, very professional and the venue itself was super clean and well cared for. PERFECTION is the best word to describe our entire experience at The Peninsula Room. Barb, Madi and the entire team made us, including our mothers, feel special from the tasting, email communications to the day of our wedding. The location was breathtaking, service was amazing and the food was incredible. Our guests are still talking about the appetizers, the main course and late night snacks. Barb was extremely kind and generous during the reception (and through the entire process) making sure we ate, stayed hydrated and had a great time. We had always hoped to have our wedding their since our first visit 7 years ago. It truly exceeded our expectations.

We had our wedding at the Peninsula Room in July 2023. It really is the perfect venue! We were looking for something with a mix of scenery - from the waterfront ceremony lawn, to the cozy cocktail patio, and the beautiful reception hall this spot really has a it all. The whole team at the Peninsula Room was easy to work with and the food was also excellent. This place is special!

Our wedding at the Peninsula Room was my dream wedding. We fell in love with the grounds one sunny fall day and talked about how cool it would be to get married there- to our surprise it was a wedding venue! It is truly a gorgeous location. It is so charming we honestly decided to have fewer outdoor decorations just to appreciate the natural beauty. Madi and Barb go above and beyond to make your day fantastic. They are very responsive to emails throughout the week and patient with the many questions. We utilized the bridal suite for the girls which was perfect for getting ready (even our hair and makeup girls were impressed with the space). The boys used the area adjacent to hang out before the wedding which worked perfectly. It was raining and 55 degrees on our wedding day (much to my horror lol), and I was so torn on whether to do the ceremony outside or inside. They never pressured me and told me they could accommodate either with essentially a moment's notice. We decided to do it outside with light misting and it was still perfect and beautiful. The ceremony was quite shorter than we had expected because of the conditions so the peninsula room extended the open bar for the guests out of the kindness of their hearts. The covered and heated outdoor patio made for the perfect place to warm up after the ceremony for cocktail hour which I was so happy could still be used despite the weather. The reception went perfectly smooth even without a wedding planner so I KNOW their team had quite a hand in that. Honestly the rain ended up making it the most cozy and magical day. 10/10 recommend!

The Peninsula Room was a DREAM. The views, setting, food, service, and atmosphere are perfect. You cannot curate a more naturally-gorgeous setting: guests drive through the old mission peninsula past lake views and grapevines and arrive at the shady lawn for the ceremony, which is so romantic. The lake absolutely glistens in the background. The Peninsula Room itself is beautiful and has a luscious yard for games and a perfect pergola for cocktail hour. This is how you do a northern Michigan wedding! Planning our wedding was easy with Madi. She met with us multiple times to go over details and was highly coordinated and communicative over email. The service at our rehearsal dinner and on our wedding day was out of this world. The servers were extremely prompt, kind, and professional and kept the drinks, appetizers, and food moving and made sure everything came out on time. Our food was delicious. As the bride and groom, we were too busy to sit and enjoy the appetizers but our guests got to eat an incredible selection of delicacies. The dinners were superb. This is not typical wedding food at all. Everything is prepared fresh and with local ingredients. I can't tell you how smoothly our day went - highly recommend this venue for your dream wedding!

We had our wedding here in September and it really was the most beautiful venue! The ceremony on the front grounds was truly breathtaking and intimate. The happy hour under the pergola was absolutely gorgeous and flowed perfectly into the reception hall. Can't forget the food - top notch!! Madi was so amazing to work with - so responsive and helpful with any question that we had. Can't thank her enough!!

The Peninsula Room is a picture perfect venue that is very accommodating. They’re food is delicious and is sourced from local farmers so it’s very fresh. The staff was very responsive to our emails and answered every question we had. Great location!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about the Peninsula Room. It was the perfect venue for our wedding. We loved the look of the ceremony space with the trees and the water; however, it was the staff and experience itself that had us in awe on the day of the event. Everyone was so friendly and committed to ensuring we and our guests had an incredible celebration. Our venue coordinator Madi was very responsive and answered all of our concerns, and she was present on the day ensuring things ran smoothly. The food was exceptional. Many of our friends and family have told us that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. The space itself is so perfect for transitioning from the outdoor ceremony to cocktail hour and then reception. The cocktail hour space is really fun, and we loved that our guests could wander in and out of the reception space with the band to sit outside and enjoy the northern Michigan summer evening. Highly recommend booking your wedding here!!

Our daughter was married on the Great Lawn in front of the Peninsula Room and her reception followed in the Peninsula Room. The staff were fantastic! We had to delay the wedding a bit due to a brief rain shower and the staff were so helpful in making alternate accommodations if they were needed. Food, service and accommodations were exceptional. Guests also enjoyed the lovely patio and outdoor fireplace. The Great Lawn is a beautiful setting for an outdoor wedding with the Grand Traverse Bay in the background. Highly recommend this venue for an “Up North” Wedding.

The Peninsula Room was SUCH an amazing venue! The natural beauty of the place sold us immediately. The ceremony space on the front lawn has beautiful views of West Bay. The gardens and patio area where we held cocktail hour were gorgeous. The staff was very accommodating to whatever we needed. We wanted a very simple and chill wedding and we got it. All of our guests had a fun time and loved that they could have the option to hang out outside by the fire pit or play yard games or dance or sit inside. There were so many beautiful areas to take pictures. The food was DELICIOUS. We got to work with Barb, who was so kind and personable. As we got closer to our wedding day, communication became a little spottier, which I am guessing is more due to the fact that this wedding season was probably more hectic than normal due to COVID. But, after a second follow-up email we would get a response! Our actual wedding day was perfect and ran very smoothly!

The Peninsula Room was a perfect venue for a wedding. The view from the ceremony is like something out of a fairy tale with the picturesque pines and the beautiful blue water. There isn't much else to be said about the ceremony that can't be communicated by looking at the pictures on the website but trust us when we say that the pictures don't bring justice to the pure magic that comes from sunlight shining through those trees on a lovely summer day. For preparation, the bridal suite was just the right size and had the necessary mirrors and hangers for last minute touches. There wasn't a room for the groom to get ready, so make sure you're already wearing your pants when you arrive or you'll be changing in the bathroom. The reception was also excellent. While you do have to move away from the view, the food and drink is certainly worth changing locations. Having everything in the same location made it very smooth for our guests and ourselves. The Peninsula Room itself looks so nice on the inside that it really doesn't need additional decorating (unless that's something you want). The food was excellent - we went with the plated meals, the Harbor Selection, and they had it out way faster than we thought possible. The drinks were a hit too, we had so many comments on how much people liked the North Peak beers. The staff had a great balance of being attentive and friendly, but also never in the way. Our only issue is that communication prior to the wedding was sometimes lacking and we would sometimes have to send multiple emails to get an answer. However, on the day of the wedding, everything went flawlessly, so it's a minor note in our books, just something to be aware of if you are an early planner.

This venue is so beautiful! We had our reception here and also had a shuttle bus service for our guests. Our guests raved about the appetizers, the outdoor area and the view of the water! We loved how accommodating Barb was and how everything went so smoothly! Barb allowed us to have a dessert table, and we needed help setting up a couple of tables during the transition of cocktail hr to dinner and the staff was so accommodating and swift. I loved that we were able to park our cars overnight and since our wedding was a Friday, we were able to set up at whatever time on Thursday for as long as we wanted. The Peninsula room also offered beautiful linens, chiavari chairs, and colored napkins. One thing my husband and I noticed, and our guests did too, that we would change, are the cocktails. We had an open bar and The Peninsula Room allowed us to have signature drinks which were so tasty (he had a paloma and I had a vodka basil lemonade); however, they were extremely weak, as if there was no alcohol in any of our drinks! Our guests either asked for double shots of vodka or vodka on ice or switched to wine. So I would make note of that if you were to have a wedding with them.

The Peninsula Room and ALL of the supporting staff were AMAZING! My daughter's wedding was a casualty of Covid and needed to be rescheduled for several months later. The Peninsula Room easily worked with us on the reschedule and was very accommodating. We had the privilege of working with Barb Olson over the whole planning process for both the lawn ceremony AND the reception and I have to say, she was attentive, friendly, clear, and just made what could have been an overwhelming process - simple and enjoyable. I also can't say enough about the Peninsula Room. The outside wedding location - overlooking the Bay in Traverse City is absolutely stunning. The Peninsula Room and the accompanying garden spaces were absolute perfection for cocktail time, dinner and all the normal wedding fun - dancing, cake cutting, etc. We heard from every one of our guests that the food was perfect. The filet mignon, whitefish, pork & vegetarian offerings thrilled every person at the wedding. The bar offerings - beer, wine & alcohol were all excellent. I have some wine snob friends - and even they were raving. I highly recommend The Peninsula Room and Barb Olson for your upcoming wedding. A++++!!!

I had the pleasure of coordinating a wedding at the Peninsula Room recently through my wedding planning company, Up North Events. I really enjoyed working with the staff at this location! Sarah was super helpful with ALL of my questions leading up to the event. She provided helpful insight for ceremony logistics and reception layouts, as this was my first time doing an event at this venue. The day of the wedding, Barb was there with her staff to ensure everything was set up correctly and on time. It was a rainy day so we used the backup location inside the reception room for the ceremony. They were very flexible with the rain and allowing the couple to decide what they wanted to do. Staff was quick to get everything ready to hold the ceremony indoors, helped hold the doors open for the processional, and were just all around very attentive all day and evening. All the catering staff were willing to help if asked for something, and everyone was on point with dinner, bar, and dessert service. Professional, friendly, and on top of it. I had no concerns regarding the catering, which freed me up to ensure everything else was going smoothly. The food was SO good! It is such a neat location and the wedding was lovely.

My daughter's wedding at the Peninsula Room was flawless! There is quite a trick, I learned, to getting the wedding the couple is envisioning right, and making it about them. This place and all the people involved got it. Outrageously great food (a definite must have for the bride and groom), impeccable service, and a perfectly paced evening. Of course, the setting cannot be topped. We had the ceremony on the lawn and with it, the stunning view and northern Michigan vibe to be among the trees there. The Peninsula Room was perfect for food, drink and dancing with the bonus of having a pergola and lawn space to get outside for a change of pace or to sit by the fire at the firepit. We had simple decorations and the room shone. Not only was the evening a great one, the planning process was also wonderful - smooth and professional. Highly recommend!

We were able to have a wedding beyond our wildest dreams thanks to the Peninsula Room and staff. We cannot say enough good things. The service was incredible, they were so attentive and genuinely kind. Sarah was absolutely amazing to work with. She went above and beyond for us. I would have lost my mind without her. We got so many compliments on how beautiful the space was (inside and out), how awesome the service was and how absolutely incredible the food was. Many people told us it was the best wedding food they have ever had. I highly highly recommend booking them for your special day. I would pick the Peninsula Room over and over again.

My Dream Wedding Venue! My wedding ceremony and reception were both held on this property 7/13/19. Everything was beyond perfect from the planning to the big day! Sarah Parker was our event coordinator and went out of her way to get us anything we needed and answer all of our questions in a timely manner! The food is seriously outstanding, especially for a wedding. Many compliments on the food from our guests! Service was top notch and very personal thanks to Barb! So many beautiful places to take pictures and a lovely bridal suite to get ready with my gals! As a local, I am so grateful to have been married here in my hometown and thankful to all the hardworking staff who made it happen so flawlessly!

Literally can't say enough good things about this venue!!! The food was AMAZING, the staff was so friendly and super helpful, and the views were to die for! Working with Kate for all the planning ahead of time was a breeze, couldn't have asked for anyone better!

The Peninsula Room is the ideal venue for any couple whose priorities are food and atmosphere. We loved the warmth of the dining space and the layout makes it very easy to accommodate a decent number of guests. We had 11 tables, 8-10 people per table and there was plenty of space to move around. Our food selection was very important to us so when we saw that they prepare all the food on site and offer plated options we were sold. Every meal was delicious, all of our guests agreed. From cocktail hour to late night pizza, the Peninsula Room did an amazing job. It felt so relaxed but very classy as well which was exactly what we wanted. The staff was friendly and we always had answers to our questions very quickly, it was the easiest wedding planning I had ever heard of. Many of our guests said that this venue and the experience as a whole made it the best wedding they had ever attended. I would reccomend this venue to all couples, whether it's a small elopement or a grand ceremony. The site is breathtaking, the food is excellent, and the experience you and your guests will have here will last a lifetime.

Beautiful, perfect spot. Ceremony on a wooded lawn in front of the lake ♥️ followed by a beautiful, indoor, fall reception. The interior is equally beautiful and decorates itself. All inclusive venue for a very reasonable price made wedding planning easy! Superb bridal treatment and excellent dinner service. Wonderful, perfect day! I'm a happy bride :)

We had such an awesome experience with the Peninsula Room for our wedding. I can't sing their praises enough! By nature, my husband and I aren't planners and were mostly daunted by the task of putting together a wedding, but Barb, Kate, and the team made things wonderfully easy for us. The location is visually stunning and with an interesting, rich history. (Ask Barb about the ghost — I think her name was Genevieve?) We had a rainy wedding, which made the beautiful, rustic space incredibly cozy. And the food was REALLY outstanding. I mean, we were impressed during the initial tasting but assumed that it was easier to cook for 2 than 100, but the food at the wedding was even better than the tasting! We got so many compliments from our guests. Where this team really shines though is in the details... the little things you could never anticipate. We had an issue with our table place cards and they helped fix it. There were probably a ton of these types of issues that cropped up that they handled. In another example, we had to improvise and the reading of our vows inside due to the rain. My mother had gotten us these charmingly cheesy Mr & Mr champagne flutes that I had completely forgotten about. Barb somehow remembered these and quietly slipped in with them, right after we finished our vows, so we could toast each other. It's such a minor detail, but it's one that sticks out because I remembered thinking, "Wow, these guys are really exceptional!" It's clear that this is a group of seasoned professionals who were able to work with our complete lack of planning skills and really help make this day so special for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The Peninsula Room (and all the staff) were a pleasure to work with this fall! From the initial tour with Barb, to the follow up conversations with Kate, they went above and beyond to make our celebration perfect. Even when the dessert vendor didn't set up the display as expected, Kate's team stepped in so we would not have to worry before the ceremony. In addition, the location is stunning. The outdoor ceremony space was perfect for our 110 person wedding (though a little windy for our day!) and the Peninsula Room looks even better with the dimmed lighting and tables set up. The outdoor fireplace and S'mores station were a huge hit with our guests, as were the grounds for additional photos. We couldn't have been happier with our choice!

The Peninsula Room is truly the perfect Traverse City venue with the friendliest and most accommodating staff! This location had special meaning to us personally, so we really wanted everything to be JUST right. They made every single step of the planning process simple, fun and stress free! I cannot say enough good things about the organization and attentiveness of everyone we came in contact with. Our day was just as we had imagined it, and we would recommend The Peninsula Room to anyone looking for a truly magical northern Michigan wedding!

The staff at the Peninsula Room were amazing! We just happened to lose power in the middle of our reception (through no fault of theirs), and they were so accommodating! They brought out candles, and even managed to fill the toilets with water to allow our guests to use the restrooms! Everyone had an amazing time, and our wedding will never be forgotten! We loved the Peninsula Room, and the food was amazing (as expected from our tasting)! :) Our guests are still talking about it!

Most beautiful venue in Traverse City on the old mission peninsula. Your ceremony takes places within the front lawn with tall shaded trees and the lake right behind you! The mission table building has spacious and unique getting ready rooms upstairs where you can overlook the ceremony site from the windows. The cocktail hour location under the pergola almost doesn't even need any decoration because of the gardens they have already there. & the FOOD. I cannot tell you how many guests told us it was the best food, let alone WEDDING food, they had ever had. They also have all their own spirits and wine giving a great local touch on it all. I looked at a lot of venues in TC and nothing spoke to me like this one. Recommend 100 times over!

We cannot say enough good things about this venue! Everything here is absolutely incredible - the views, the food, the grounds, the staff. All of our guests were blown away with our choice of venue. The lawn space for yard games was fantastic for kiddos as they had plenty of room to play. Our tasting was delicious, and on the big day everything was just as good as we had remembered it! We did not hear a single complaint about appetizers or any part of the main meal - only compliments! Kate and her staff are also beyond good. Kate was very accessible for questions leading up to our wedding and very thorough when going through final details the week before our event. We had an unfortunate mishap with our cake and Kate was prepared to send staff to the store to make certain we had dessert. Everything went so perfectly and even as the bride I can honestly say I wasn't worrying about a thing the day of our wedding! The only thing I have to say that is not 100% positive is that we did have a few guests end up with wet bottoms after the ceremony from chairs with cracks in them...the chairs appeared to be dry but there must have been water stuck inside some cushions that seeped out over time. Even so, looking back we cannot believe we ever felt we had to weigh our options when selecting a venue - The Peninsula Room is honestly a no brainer. Book this venue now for a stress free day and never look back!

Planning our TC wedding all the way from Chicago was a daunting task but Kate and the team at the Peninsula Room made everything so easy! They were incredibly accommodating, responsive, flexible, and attentive. We chose to have both the ceremony and reception on the grounds and it was all so beautiful! It was nearly as turnkey as a wedding can probably get with the price including the linens and tables and flatware in addition to the food and drinks and space. It also included a beautiful area upstairs for us to finish getting ready. We worked with Kate to be able to come set up early which saved money on decor and let my OCD-bride self relax a little and we got to rehearse on the lawn with wine in our hands the day before to make sure it was all perfect. Our guests haven’t stopped gushing about the views and the appetizers and the beers and the custom cocktails and the beautiful patio and the delicious food. We couldn’t have dreamt up a more idyllic wedding! Dessert s’mores on the patio were also a memorable hit! And the sunset photos on the water and in the vines are going to be some of our favorites I know. Thank you Peninsula Room crew so much for making our day easy and incredible!

We picked this venue for the obvious reason, the location and the setting. What we didn’t realize was how truly wonderful everything would turn out. Kate was a dream to work with and made sure everything ran perfectly. The food was amazing and everything went just as planned!

Kate was so helpful through our whole experience. She answered every question promptly and has the best staff. The wait staff was very friendly and ensured all guests had enough food and promptly. The venue looked so beautiful on our day and we couldn’t be happier!

I cannot say enough about this venue and Kate. From start to finish the communication was seamless from the first contact to the tasting through to the wedding. It was an incredible location, all the guests were so complimentary of the location and the food! Every little detail was perfect and as the mother of the bride I was able to just relax and enjoy the night.

The Peninsula Room was the first venue that we visited and we fell in love! We had been to Jolly Pumpkin several times and knew the ambience and wanted that same feeling for our wedding. And the Peninsula Room delivered! From the start the team was excellent to work with. Kate was extremely helpful in answering all of our questions and was very accommodating. We were able to utilize different parts of the estate on our wedding day which made our grand entrance at the reception magical! The food was delicious and we loved that everything was local . The venue was absolutely perfect for us!

This venue delivered way beyond our expectations. The staff were a delight, the food was excellent, which we all know is not common at weddings, and the venue was unbelievably beautiful. I can not imagine a more perfect place to celebrate a wedding! They are very accommodating and made it easy to have the perfect day for our bride and groom. We did not have one hiccup! Not one! As the mother of the bride, I could not have been happier! No matter what time of year you are planning your special day, this venue will be perfect and your wedding celebration will be fabulous!

I loved everything about this venue and am so happy that we chose The Peninsula Room to celebrate our big day. Kate was wonderful to work with leading up to our wedding day. She's really great, and I don't know how to she keeps so organized! Dani was our life saver for the day of and everything went flawlessly with her help- I can't thank her enough! She really went the extra mile to make sure that things went as planned and that our wedding party was taken of. The venue and space is beautiful and our guests were blown away by the picturesque setting and all of the things to explore and see on the property. We took advantage of setting up some lawn games and used the bonfire pit, and I highly recommend using all that the property has to offer. The reception space was cozy, but comfortable and very intimate and personal feeling. All of our guests absolutely loved the food and the large beverage selection. I highly recommend this venue for not only its ambience and food, but for also the wonderful staff that helps to make sure that your day goes smoothly and is special.

This venue was fabulous! There is an outdoor lawn area that allows for guests to sit outside near a fire and play cornhole and such, but also have a great indoor area for dancing and food. There is also beach access and a dock for your guests to go out on. I loved it!! There is a restaurant on site, but everyone was very friendly and stayed in the restaurant and didn't bother the wedding. Food was incredible! My only warning was that the event planners do have a bit of the Traverse City mindset and it takes usually a week for a response to emails, though phone calls are usually quicker. If you're getting married in TC, this is something you will find with most vendors, so don't let it steer you away! I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, but still relaxed venue!

Plain and simply put, this place is absolutely amazing. Everybody that my wife and I worked with the entire time through the entire process were nothing but helpful and accommodating to us and our needs. With any large event, you would expect at least something to go wrong...even just the smallest thing. Nope! Our day was perfect. No errors, no mistakes, nothing went wrong. It rained all morning but even the weather cooperated and the sunshine came out right as we started the ceremony. The Space: The room really has that country/modern feel to it tied together. The room is so nice, actually, that you aren't forced to do much decorating at all, which was one of the big reasons why we went with The Peninsula Room. Air-conditioning for summer events as well and an outdoor area around the build that is really beautiful. The Food: out of all of the weddings I've been to, I have to humbly brag that our food has been the best. The chicken, pork tenderloin, and steak all came out perfect - we had so many compliments on the meal which is exactly what we wanted after spending what we spent on a plated dish. The Booze: Pay for the booze - your guests deserve it. Great craft beer, craft spirits, and high quality wine for 4+ hours. What more can you ask for? The Area: I mean, breath-taking views of the Bay. The outside of their building/grounds are covered in flowers, trees - everything is well taken care of and groomed. It's just a really nice space that can't be beat with the spectacular view. The Communication: Whenever we came up with any questions, I shot an email to their event coordinator, Kate, who was very helpful. It was a pleasure to work with her and I appreciate all of the help she put into making our special day perfect. Her responses were quick and accurate, and after a small mix-up very early on in the planning process, they were nice enough to discount the price for us. All-around great group of people to work with and would highly recommend The Peninsula Room to anyone.

We had an incredible experience on our wedding day, October 8, 2016. This was a destination wedding and we truly were blessed with great vendors! Kate handled all the planing and coordination of our event from our tasting, menu selections, to helping mitigate the wedding itself. We couldn't have done it without her and the wonderful staff at The Peninsula Room. All my questions were answered without hesitation, and we were able to have special requests accommodated. Jolly Pumpkin holds a very special place in our hearts so we couldn't have imagined getting married anywhere else. We were engaged two years prior and shared our announcement from the very place we got married. This is a once in a lifetime event that I will never forget and the venue was beyond perfect. It's beautiful, and filled with wonderful staff. You won't regret getting married here. It truly takes your breath away. We can't wait to come back to Old Mission to this very special place. It was amazing!

This was by far the worst venue I have ever been to!!! Myself, my fiancé and my in-laws drove 3 hours to come visit this venue and when we got there we were told the the event planner was running late. We said ok and had a seat and a drink while we waited. Two hours later the event planner came to our table, did NOT apologize for being two hours late and proceed to tell me that all the information is on there website and walked and talked to another group that she was there for! I have never been more insulted and treated poorly in my life and will not allow it to happen to any other bride!!!!! If you want to have a horrible experience and be over charged for every little thing then this is the place to go! Otherwise STAY AWAY FROM THIS VENUE!!!!!

There are not enough praises I can sing for the beautiful facility and wonderful staff at The Peninsula Room. As a Traverse City local who grew up going to birthday dinners at Bowers Harbor Inn, it's always been a special place to me, and the whole setting--the inn's history, the natural beauty--perfectly captures the magic of northern Michigan that I wanted to feel around me on my wedding day. We're an international couple, so we had over 25 guests joining from Europe, and they were all enchanted by the fantastic view, the charming rooms, the excellent food, drinks, and service, and the overall feel of the evening that this unique venue provided. We wanted to give them Traverse City at its finest, and we certainly did. Because I live in Europe now as well, I knew I wanted to choose a venue that was "all-inclusive" to make planning easier, and we couldn't have made a better decision in choosing this spot. Kate gave us a wonderful tour and tasting about 8 months prior to the wedding, and she was always so timely and helpful in our email and telephone correspondence. I don't know how she does it, remembering all the details for so many weddings--she's truly some kind of wizard! We showed up earlier than expected the day before the wedding to decorate, and Kate still managed to have all of our tables set and the room ready for us. Thank you! On the day before and day of our wedding, the staff was so friendly and helpful, and they do so much throughout the evening that you don't even notice to keep the day running smoothly and keep the guests happy. It was such a relief to be able to enjoy my day and know that the event was in such professional, organized hands. And, the food is amazing! I got so many compliments on it-- people who were so delighted to finally taste fresh, local, gourmet-quality food at a wedding. For the overall quality, and the uniqueness of the place, the Peninsula Room really is the best value in the Traverse City area. I would recommend spending the extra on having the cocktail hour on the front porch (the setting and view are priceless), and also I'm so happy we decided to go with a Friday wedding, as we not only saved money, we were able to decorate the day before since there was no wedding that day, which saved us tons of time and stress on the wedding day. Overall, everyone was so accommodating and helpful and I couldn't recommend it more. Thanks so much to the entire staff! We'll be back next year to celebrate our anniversary at your beautiful site. :)

We went through Mission Table and the Peninsula Room for our wedding ceremony/reception on 7/16/16. We had amazing service! We booked through Barbara and our communication from then on was through Kate. They are very helpful and communicate great! Very professional. Kate is always available from months leading up to the event, to the day of and even the following day. I couldn't image our wedding being anything other that what it was. It was a beautiful backdrop for the wedding ceremony, and the reception went off without a hitch! The food was great, the bar was awesome and the service was amazing. I can't say enough good things about them! Truly helped make our dreams come true! Highly recommend!!
