The best thing we did for our day was hire Kristina. She was extremely helpful, knowledge, and kind throughout the whole wedding planning process and our wedding day. Our wedding day was truly the best day of our lives and that’s thanks to Kristina for running the show and handling everything on that day! When it started raining at dinner she made sure to set up a small tent over the outdoor bar, she even brought in bistro lights to string around it - a small detail we had forgotten about! She handled all the communication between our vendors so everyone knew the plan day of. She helped facilitate my untraditional wedding ceremony, making it seamless and natural. She was always easy to reach throughout the planning process, and was really there to support with anything I asked for help with. I cannot suggest Kristina and her team enough, it will be the best decision you made!!!
Kristina is who you want with you on your wedding day. From the moment we talked on the phone I knew she would be the best person to help coordinate our day. We hired her for just day of coordination, but her team goes above and beyond just that.
We got married on the hottest July day you could imagine, and had some issues with the venue that were identified at the rehearsal. Kristina worked with my dad, and executed a plan to bring the vision of our day to life flawlessly... which included doubling the dance floor due to a soggy tent floor, and trouble shooting coverage for additional eye sores at the venue.
When I walked down for the ceremony the whole space was transformed. Even though her and her team had been working like dogs all day - she was cool as cucumber and managed the timeline to a t. Kristina and her team are professional and well put together - but also just cool and fun people that you want on your team.

At the beginning of our wedding planning journey I was in search of a Day-of-Coordinator since after signing with our venue, they changed their tune about the role of their event planner. After reaching out to Purple Orchid to get some initial information, Kristina suggested we have a phone call to talk about their services and options. Kristina was very open about all of their options from Full Service Planning to Day-of-Coordinator, and helped me decide what would be the best for us.
Ultimately we chose to go with their Day-of-Coordination option. Once signing with Purple Orchid, Noelle was assigned to our wedding as our Coordinator. Unfortunately, we had one bump after another, after another with our venue. I was beyond thankful to have Noelle by our side!! With the Day of Coordinator service we had three phones which were evenly scheduled throughout the time leading up to our wedding, a site visit and the month prior lots and lots of communication. When things really took a turn with our venue, Kristina even stepped in to help set things straight. They Purple Orchid team is truly a team that works together to make magic happen!
On the day of our wedding Noelle and her partner DJ were at the inn early to begin ensuring everything was getting set up and running smoothly. My family and I did not need to worry about the flow of the ceremony, cocktail hour or reception. Noelle and DJ took care of everything!
I cannot say enough positive things about working with Jarron and the Purple Orchid team. At each checkpoint along the way he made sure that we were thinking through all the details and moving the process along. He rolled with every change and new idea with grace and positivity. On the day of, we were able to completely remove ourselves from the logistics and know that things were in good hands. Jarron beautifully set our tables, attended to a million details and I'm sure took care of a million more things we never even saw.
We hired Purple Orchid for day of wedding coordinator and we were thrilled to work with Kristina! She is sincere, knowledgeable and truly loves what she does. From start to finish, Kristina was always there for us and went beyond her duties. If I could give her and the company 10 stars, I would! Please do yourself a favor and hire Purple Orchid for your wedding or any special event you may be having!

We hired Catie from Purple Orchid to be our day-of wedding planner. In the months that led up to our event, she helped take the stress out of planning my daughter’s wedding. She provided detailed charts and calendars to help us organize our thoughts, our budget, and our logistical scheduling for the day. On the day of the wedding, my daughter and I were able to truly enjoy every moment of the festivities because Catie–seemingly effortlessly–took care of every detail of vendor coordination, setup and breakdown. Her services were invaluable, and if I had to do it again, I’d spring for the full coverage service. Wonderful.
Kristina helped us plan an intimate ceremony on the beach, as well as a full ceremony and reception for all of our friends and family. She helped us find all our vendors and arranged phone calls with vendors for us to get to know each other before hiring. Kristina also helped us with our vision and decor for the wedding. She used the many ideas we had saved on Pinterest and put together a vision board that encapsulated all of our desires perfectly. Kristina made sure the wedding planning process was as stress free as possible and was always available to answer questions or address any worries. She also was present throughout our wedding day to make sure everything went exactly to plan and make sure we were happy. Thank you, Kristina!!
We hired Noelle as our Day of Coordinator, which turned out to be an excellent choice. Friendly, patient, and organized, she made sure our wedding day went smoothly. While we didn't have a planner (which at the end of the day, was SO STRESSFUL and would not recommend if you have the financial means to hire a full planner), Noelle made sure that on wedding day, there would be as little stress as possible - and with this she was successful! Thank you Noelle for your hard work - everything ended up coming together just fine, and we have Purple Orchid to thank for helping make it happen.
I hired Purple Orchid to help with day-of coordination as I did most of the planning. I live in Georgia and was getting married in Maine and Kristina did a phenomenal job of helping me bring my vision to life from afar. I gave her a few photos of my vision and she absolutely delivered more than I could have ever imagined! She knew exactly what I wanted and the vibe I was going for without me even having to explain. "Moody romantic" is what someone told me during my wedding and I just about died because it's exactly what I wanted. As for the day of coordination, she made everything so easy and kept us on time!! If anything went wrong on the day of, we didn't know it. As far as I know our wedding had no hiccups and it was the absolute perfect day. If you want a stress free wedding day, look no further! Kristina at Purple Orchid is your girl!!!
Working with Noelle Hotham as my day of coordinator for my wedding was an absolute DREAM! I am so thankful I had the opportunity to work with her & would suggest anyone to work with Noelle. She is kind, thoughtful & GIFTED! She took all of my ideas & put them to life. My family & I did not have to worry about a single thing on my wedding day because Noelle had it all taken care of. It was the best day of our life & because of Noelle, it was 100% stress free!
Rachel, Kristina and Shannon made our wedding the dreamiest day we could have imagined. Day of was totally stress free which is saying something because they helped us navigate LOTS of logistical challenges in planning- including our rental company canceling 60 days out and casual hurricane winds on the island on wedding day. They not only thought through every detail they also were so supportive and encouraging. I feel so much gratitude to Rachel especially who just totally got us as a couple and it was like having a REALLY helpful friend in this process! Worth every penny and then some!
Woof - avoid like the plague!
We had a great experience with Noelle up until the end of our wedding night. Up to that point, Noelle had offered to make sure all of our furniture was under the tent at the end of the night. My wife happened to drive by a few days later to just do a final scan and saw that the furniture was really far away from our tent and she had to move it all back herself. We asked Noelle what happened - if she had just said “whoops I forgot, sorry!” that would have been the end of it. Instead we got an email from Kristina stating that because we hadn’t paid extra (something we 100% would have done if we’d been told to - we just wanted a stress-free wedding night) that Noelle and her assistant hadn’t done it. We were obviously confused because why hadn’t Noelle just told us she couldn’t do it? We would have paid someone to come back the next day but instead we only found out when we drove by days later. Instead of Kristina apologizing, she blamed the entire situation on a guest being grumpy while cleaning up at the end of the night (Kristina says the guest swore at Noelle, the guest says she swore when the trash bag she was throwing stuff into broke…) Then she listed out things Noelle OFFERED to do and we repeatedly asked if we should find someone else to cover (like pressing play on a phone while we walked down the aisle) as us “taking advantage” of her kindness. There seems to be some internal employee stuff happening with Purple Orchid - my guess is that our coordinator offered to do things for free that she was supposed to charge us for and then blamed us when Kristina found out.
Couples - DO NOT go with Purple Orchid! All we wanted was a text letting us know that something our coordinator offered to do couldn’t be done so we could have found someone else to do it. Id we’d gotten an apology, that would have been the end of it. Instead we got Kristina freaking out on us and accusing us of being bridezillas. There are plenty of wedding coordinators in the state of Maine - you don’t need this drama at your wedding!
Kristina was our partner in crime for over two years (thanks to Covid and having to delay for 9 months), and we are so thankful to have her throughout the entire process. It was a difficult time planning and replanning the wedding, and Kristina was supportive, honest and kept us apprised of all the next steps. No matter what we knew we could count on her to bring our vision to life and she was a huge help coordinating with all of our vendors.
We had no hesitation handing over the reins on the day of, confident that all the details would come together and everything turned out perfectly!
Simply the best!!! I would give 10 stars if I could!! We knew from our first call with Kristina that she was The One to help us coordinate our perfect wedding. She has a very calm and no-nonsense demeanor that cuts through all the wedding planning craziness and kept us focused on what needed doing. She was always available to problem solve or to come up with creative ideas for what we were working on. When the pandemic unexpectedly arrived a few weeks before our original wedding date she guided us effortlessly through no less than 3 postponements, navigating a large vendor team and three days of events to reschedule with ease, and then was with us through the repeated re-envisionings of our wedding as the rules and restrictions changed. We truly felt like we were in it together and that she was authentically invested in the success of our wedding. When we were finally - 3 YEARS (!) after booking her - able to go forward with our wedding, it couldn’t have gone better. Kristina (& her team) showed up with a detailed binder with step by step instructions and a timeline for our wedding weekend. Everything was set up perfectly, and she successfully navigated a minor wind storm for our guests at our welcome dinner. On our wedding day, Kristina was our #1 fan and also our first line of defense: she protected us to ensure that we never felt rushed but also that we did everything we wanted to do (like finish photos early so we could join cocktail hour). We were able to actually eat our wedding meal, and still get the photos we wanted and talk to all our guests. Our much-awaited weekend was literally perfect, all thanks to Kristina!!
There are not many words to describe how amazing Jarron at Purple Orchid was during our wedding process. After many changes and lots of discussions my Husband and I decided to proceed with our 2020 wedding. Although we had to cut the number significantly Jarron somehow made us feel better about every decision and excited about the wedding we were planning. I went into every phone call anxious about the worlds impact on our wedding and left every call relieved and trusting of Jarron and his planning skills.
On the day of Jarron absolutely killed it. My mother and I gave him pictures of what we wanted everything to look like and a bunch of rentals/supplies. I couldn’t have imagined the tables/decor better myself. He made sure my Husband and I were always taken care of (i.e had a drink, had something to eat, no one was bothering us etc.) He made sure everyone was respectable and socially distancing/wearing masks when needed. The timing of the whole event was remarkable, and I truly got to enjoy every single second.
Jarron went above and beyond his duties of a day of coordinator. I don’t know how you could do a wedding without him to be honest. I’ll forever think back about this day with a smile and absolute gratitude for all he did for us.
Kristina is a DREAM. Planning a wedding is never easy, and planning a wedding during a pandemic is a whole different beast. Kristina was there for us as we planned, re-planned, and RE re-planned our wedding. She supported us through this process, staying level headed and always making sure we were prioritizing our needs and what we wanted out of our wedding weekend. We knew she was the best, and this was just reinforced during our actual wedding - our parents and wedding party were blown away by her calm direction and thoroughness. We trusted her fully, and were still amazed at what she made happen. Highly recommend!!!
Purple Orchird has a wonderful team! Me and my fiancé ended up not going with any kind of planner (we will see if that was a mistake or not) but purple orchid rep, Kristina, was VERY nice and helped me out even when she knew that we weren't going to hire them. She understood my situation and wanted what was best for me. I cant imagine the kind of service they will provide for people who actually give them money! They are fantastic people and if you need a planner, purple orchid are the ones to hire!
We are still on cloud 9 from our wedding and cannot thank Kristina and her team enough for making it all happen. From the endless phone calls to all the last minute details to the most perfectly orchestrated day, Kristina did a truly phenomenal job. Even my mom has not stopped raving about our incredible coordinator--we didn't have to worry about a thing and could not have imagined a better day.

Kristina and her team did an amazing job as the "day of Coordinator" for our Wedding in June. We have multiple modes of transportation, multiple locations, and just a lot of logistics that needed to be executed. Kristina was able to take all of the burden off of my family/wedding party to allow us to just enjoy the day. She made sure every detail was thought through, communicated with our vendor team, and allowed us to have the wedding of our dreams! I highly recommend the Purple Orchid for your event planning needs!
Kristina and her team were amazing to work with! They made sure everything ran smoothly and all the details were covered! While I love event planning and organizing I am so happy we brought on Kristina to help! She checked in with us throughout the year to make sure we were on track booking vendors and not forgetting important details. As much as I love planning I am so incredibly happy we had Kristina to run the show the day of our wedding! She set up everything beautifully, coordinated with all the vendors and wrangled people into position when needed, so we didn't have to worry about a thing! She made it so we could just focus on having a great time with our guests and I couldn't have wished for anything more!
I couldn’t be happier with our decision to use the Purple Orchid team for our day of coordination needs. We had Nikki as our main coordinator and Jarron as an additional assistant for our wedding. Nikki was so personable, dependable, and reassuring. Leading up the event she made time for several calls and helped me immensely as I filled in a few gaps in my planning process to ensure the big day went smoothly. Nikki had great ideas to help make things flow seamlessly, and she quickly took care of anything my guests and family asked during the event. When I stepped onto the venue for my first look I saw a space that had been transformed exactly as I had envisioned. Jarron was amazing, as well—putting aside a plate of apps so my husband and I wouldn’t miss our appetizer hour, and he also had an amazing suggestion of how we could enter the barn before our first dance that our guests loved. There's been a saying since my wedding that I made two great decisions: first, saying yes to my now husband, and second, hiring Kristina. I can't properly express the amount of stress and pain and worry I escaped precisely because I knew I was in Kristina's hands. All but 1 vendor I chose came from her lists of preferred vendors (the only outlier being referred by a friend) and she always had honest feedback and advice on who to choose that would be best for our personal vision. One thing I most appreciated was Kristina making a point of saying to the wedding party that the wedding day was about my husband and I, and they should not bother the happy couple on the day, instead go to her and she will solve it aka I didn't have to worry about anything. I also had a huge almost disaster when the photographer had the wrong date down for our wedding the day before it was to go down! But I didn't have to do a thing because Kristina was on it and it was like I never even knew there was an issue in the first place. Highly recommend!
Kristina and her team (Katherine & Jarron) were amazing! I think my laid back personality frightened Kristina at first as I'm a super procrastinator, but she helped make sure all tasks were complete before the wedding. They made sure my day went smoothly. Zach and I were not bothered with anything the day-of and had the best day of our lives. Jarron cleaned up as much as possible making the clean-up the following day super easy. I would highly recommend Kristina and her crew. Kristina is super organized and experienced, and easy to work with. Thanks so much!
Brian and I are still trying to find the right words to think you and your team for what was a fairytale wedding for us. From the moment I first talked to you I knew you were the planner I wanted to work with. You made everything so easy to plan and make last minute changes. The amount of compliments we received about YOU from Saturday night is incredible. You transformed the boring classic white wedding tent wedding into a colorful wildflower explosion party that was just ABOVE and BEYOND what I ever even knew was possible!
It still baffles me all that planning we did with a million email and just paper discussions on a vision turned into that magical weekend. From taking control at the church rehearsal (still cracking up about that night and Fr. Ed) to the boat then riding around in golf carts when I probably should have been getting ready… oops.. you let my carefree spirit run free and I felt doted on hand and foot. “No” literally never came out of your mouth when I asked for an adjustment….or when I wanted to carry a bale of hay (still sorry about almost giving you..and my mother..and sister.. a heart attack). I remember asking you early on when you said what was the most important thing for me and I told you it was to have my parents stress free and enjoy the night. Im SO pleased that they not only enjoyed the night.. they too cannot believe the quality wedding you were able to put on. The number of “wows” and “stunning” and “best wedding we’re ever been to” comments are still coming in. EVEN your first aid skills were tested and THAT couples asked me the other night to personally thank you for being so kind and helpful with her bum toe.
We hired Kristina 2 months leading up to our wedding at Camp Takajo on Long Lake in Maine. She helped us finalize all the planning and was indispensable the weekend of our wedding. She's very connected locally, has great taste, has seen it all, and is unflappable. Without Kristina, we would have still gotten married :) but we would have been crazed leading up to the wedding and would not have been able to enjoy the weekend fully w/our friends and family.
I got married this past August, and worked with Chelsea and Meli. Those two are AMAZING!!! I can not say enough nice things about the team. I had Chelsea help with our rehearsal walk through, and I'm so glad I did. I would hire this team again in a heartbeat. They made sure everything ran smoothly day of, and I didn't worry about a thing. Originally when I started planning my wedding, I wasn't going to hire a wedding planner. I'm so glad we made room in our budget to allow for one. Well worth the money, I highly recommend The Purple Orchid, Event Planning! After my wedding my other vendors reached out to me and said how much they loved working with the wedding planners. Thank you so much ladies!!
We are so happy that we decided to hire The Purple Orchid for day 0f planning for our September wedding. Chelsea was our planner, with Nikki helping out the day of. Hiring a wedding planner was an expense I had to convince my fiance into, but he ended up being so happy that we did and we were both blown away by Chelsea's hard work and everything she did for us to make our day awesome! Seriously, Chelsea went so above and beyond the duties of a "day of" planner - I could not have put together the schedule and timeline for the day without her help. She also reached out to all my vendors prior to the wedding to make sure everyone was on the same page. She was so amazing the day of the wedding, running around and making sure everything was perfect, and stayed late to make sure everything was taken care so we didn't have to worry about anything. To top it all off, we loved her personality and felt so comfortable leaving everything in her hands. We liked her so much, we wanted her to stay and hang out with us after the wedding! We let her off the hook since she was probably exhausted after a 12+ hour day of hard work :) Thank you so much Chelsea and Purple Orchid for everything and making our wedding day so special!
We loved working with Kristina and her staff! They helped us with all the small logistical aspects leading up to our big day and were the magic behind the scenes the day of our wedding. Our ceremony and reception venue required multiple vendors and they were great with helping us work with everyone to keep it organized. Kristina and her staff went above and beyond for us and we can't thank them enough!
Where to begin with Kristina- our wedding was amazing beyond our wildest dreams and we couldn't have done it without her. For a long time we ambitiously attempted to plan a large-ish wedding on a private property from long distance single-handedly and once we realized that this was impossible to do while working full-time jobs, we sought out a planner. From our first conversation with Kristina she immediately started making suggestions and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to work with someone who has as much experience as she has, and who has worked with so many local vendors. Kristina was fantastic and just what we needed-- she was responsive and professional, mentioned every detail that we might have overlooked, and was straightforward while being kind, encouraging, and unbelievably generous. On the day of the wedding I was able to leave the site to get ready and had total confidence in Kristina that everything would be in the right place, and when I came back everything was set in the right place and beautiful beyond anything I could imagine. She was super lovely with our family members, and despite having a million things to do she made sure that we were happy, relaxed and well-fed. It was such a pleasure working with Kristina and we would recommend her to friends and family in a heartbeat. There are many talented event planners in Maine but if you're looking for a team with a deep breadth of experience in the area and who have worked with basically everyone, hire PO as soon as possible. And enjoy every moment!
We worked mostly with Chelsea and she exceeded all of our expectations as our wedding coordinator. Chelsea has such a confident, upbeat attitude, which really helped lower our stress levels throughout planning. We hired her for day-of coordination for our wedding at a flower farm. The venue was a blank slate property in the sense that all vendors needed to be brought in, as nothing was provided by the venue. Even though we had hired for day-of coordination, rather than using full planning services, Chelsea went above and beyond. She reached out to vendors and made sure the wedding schedule was given to all vendors and everyone was on the same page. She was organized, reliable, and made sure we had all of our bases covered.
There were many moving pieces with our wedding, and we are SO happy to have found Chelsea. She really helped us feel at ease and kept us on track with our priorities and timeline. She has the most awesome, positive personality, and handled everything calmly and professionally. Chelsea (and Mel) really helped the entire day run smoothly. We were able to enjoy the day with friends and family, thanks to her. If you are wondering whether you have room in the budget for a coordinator- you NEED to make room.

We truly loved working with the Purple Orchid. I worked mostly with Kristina early on with my preliminary plans, but Chelsea ultimately took on the role of our primary planner and she did an amazing job. All my preliminary work with Kristina was flawlessly passed on to Chelsea and she (and Mel) were SO organized and professional throughout my whole rehearsal and wedding. They kept everyone on track and helped manage all the vendors. Throughout the planning process it was awesome to have someone to discuss all my ideas and random questions; every communication from The Purple Orchid is very prompt, professional and so helpful. Chelsea is super detail oriented and seems to be able to do a million things at once. At the beginning we sort of wondered if we really needed a planner but went with it and by the end of the wedding we realized how crucial it was to have The Purple Orchid focus on all the details to make everything run smoothly so we and our families could enjoy our day! They did an amazing job.
Hiring Purple Orchid was hands down the BEST decision we made in our wedding planning process. Our wedding day was a complete fairytale and we were able to live every moment fully because Kristina and Meli were there to take care of everything for us as coordinators. We started planning about two years prior to our actual wedding day, and being from New York, we needed someone with knowledge of the area. I immediately clicked with Kristina and felt in such good hands. She was so patient with me every step of the way and always made me feel like a priority, even though my wedding was so far away and she surely had events that were sooner and more pressing. She led us to incredible vendors and as we got closer to the wedding, our stress level actually DECREASED because she handled all of the coordination in the weeks and days leading up. She made us feel so relaxed and well taken care of on the day and on top of it all, she is just such a kind and fun person to have with you on that very special day. Her and her assistant Meli had everything under control, and we quite literally worried about nothing the day of. We trusted them completely and it was PERFECT. My family and friends all commented on how well put together everything was and my response to them was always "Kristina and Meli are amazing!!!!" We'll miss them and wish they could plan every event in our lives! We can't say enough incredible things about The Purple Orchid, they are a MUST have for your Maine Wedding.
While we felt OK about our pre-wedding engagement with Kristina, she sent her colleague Chelsea to our venue for the rehearsal. Kristina had clearly not prepped Chelsea well for the day and we were VERY upset. We had worked tirelessly on our schedule of events together - down to the minute - and Chelsea showed up with a blank piece of paper with our names on it and no background of our story, flow of the day, etc. She even opened the rehearsal by saying 'if you could all SHUT UP for 15 minutes, we can all get out of here'. This was extremely unprofessional and shocking to us having worked with Kristina.
Then, we did our walk around the property only to have 'to do's' delegated to us the night before our wedding by the planner. This was also shocking to us. We were told to relinquish control to Kristina and her staff a week before our wedding and now we're being asked to make arrangements the day before our wedding? What were we paying for then?!
To seal the deal, we were told by our venue to send some friends over in the morning to 'babysit' the planners as they required a tremendous amount of oversight.
On our wedding day, Kristina did manage to pull everything together; however, instead of relieving my stress as a bride, her staff elevated my anxiety level and caused me to put my friends and family to work. We are devastated by the lack of consistent service we were afforded during this important time.
While Kristina is highly skilled as a day-of planner, we don't trust her staff and would caution brides/grooms-to-be when enlisting her services.
We worked with The Purple Orchid to plan our July 2016 wedding. We opted to do the full package and are so grateful for Kristina's help!
Kristina assisted us with every step. One thing I loved about working with Kristina was that I never second-guessed decisions. She helped us narrow down options, make a decision, and then move on to the next task. Kristina was very knowledgeable and worked with us on major tasks, such as choosing vendors and reviewing contracts, as well as the smaller details such as putting together a detailed hour-by-hour timeline for our wedding day and making sure all vendors had it well in advance. She was always available during wedding planning to answer questions, make suggestions, and keep us on track.
Besides doing wonderful work, she was also very organized, professional, and personable. About a month before our wedding, we planned a weekend to meet with vendors, but ended up getting a flat tire and which delayed us about 4 hours. Kristina waited for us anyways to attend the final walk-through appointment with our venue and contacted vendors whose appointments we missed. She rescheduled them for us and was more concerned about our flat tire than anything else!

We hired Purple Orchid Event Planning in December 2015 for our July 2016 wedding. We purchased the full Maine Wedding Planner package. True to how the package is advertised, Kristina's service was virtually unlimited. She particularly excelled during the first month of planning and the last week before (and of course the day of) the event. She helped us quickly identify a wedding site by pre-filtering locations based on our tastes, date restrictions and budget. My wife and I live in Boston, so she arranged to have us tour five sites in one day. We ended up choosing a location we would never have considered without the benefit of her experience. She has a great approach where she proposes several options for each vendor need, depending on your budget and tastes, and offers editorial perspective where necessary. She makes the process much more manageable while also making you feel like it is still your day. She is a great sounding board and voice of calm and reason during a process that could otherwise be rather stressful. We truly rarely felt stressed through the whole planning process. Fast forward to the week before the wedding: Kristina was on top of every detail. Our particular crisis was the mobile bathroom vendor canceling our reservation five days before the wedding. We never worried about it, and Kristina took care of it. Come the Friday before the weekend, we handed off a car full of table cards, Ketubah, photos for display, etc. and then stopped worrying about any details. She and her team took care of everything the weekend of the wedding, and we never worried about any of it. Highly recommended, especially for outdoor weddings--and for couples short on time.
We can't say enough good things about Kristina and The Purple Orchid. Kristina answered every question and helped with every stress I had throughout the whole wedding planning process. When I finally met Kristina the night of the rehearsal dinner I knew I had nothing to worry about. She has one of those personalities where you just know you can trust her! During the wedding day Kristina and Mellie took care of EVERYTHING! They made sure everything was perfect. One little thing that really meant a lot to us was Kristina bringing food over to our grandparents who were too hot/tired to go outside to the "cocktail area". That was so thoughtful and really made us feel taken care of.
Absolutely the best money we spent for our wedding! Kristina was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was professional but also felt like a friend right from the beginning. She made me feel at ease and wasn't afraid to interject her opinion (which was right and made the best sense!) I was so grateful to have Kristina execute everything that my husband and I put together for the wedding. Even though we hired her as a day-of coordinator, she regularly touched based with us throughout our wedding planning process and also provided some great recommendations and feedback. If it wasn't for her, we may not have met our caterer - and the food was to die for!!

My now husband and I got married in September up in Rangeley, ME. We agreed to hire a day of wedding coordinator to ease the stress of our wedding day and to appoint one person to be in charge, so that everyone else could day a back seat and enjoy the ride, and what an amazing ride it was! Thank god for Kristina and Chelsea. Planning a wedding in a little town in the mountain/lake region two states away is not easy. They met with us a month or two before the wedding day at the venue and we outlined the day of wedding activities and I instantly felt secure in our decision. Chelsea was our coordinator for the wedding day and she executed everything flawlessly, I truly could not have ask for a better go-to person. I had so many details and she made sure everything was precisely how I had envisioned it. This was by far the best decision we made for the wedding and honestly worth every penny, I cannot recommend them enough!

Hiring Kristina as our day-of wedding coordinator was one of the best decisions of our whole wedding process. She coordinated with each of our vendors (and we had many!) prior to the wedding weekend and arrived on site early the day of to make sure everything was set up beautifully and in order. It was so helpful knowing she would be there to not only set everything up at both the ceremony and reception locations, but troubleshoot anything that might come up throughout the day. I knew I wouldn't have to worry about logistics and could just focus on getting married and having fun! She took care of everything on our wedding day--the decorations were beautiful and creatively arranged, and the schedule of events ran so smoothly. She was always willing to give advice or answer questions during my planning. She also knows most of the vendors in the area and had a great system in place. I met Kristina once before the wedding at our wedding site and otherwise communicated via email and phone. I would highly recommend getting a day-of coordinator especially at venues that are very hands on and don't offer their own staff. It makes your life SO much easier come wedding day. It made all the work we put into months of planning worth it to see everything come together beautifully and have the ability to just experience every moment of my wedding day and not worry. Kristina and Chelsea did a terrific job -- I highly recommend The Purple Orchid for your wedding!!
Kristina was a great wedding planner. She was extremely good at getting a sense of the style/mood we were going for, and then recommending places that fit that style. She was also an immense, immense help day-of. She helped solve dozens of small problems that (inevitably) emerge. Without her, much of our wedding day would have been spent troubleshooting, which would have greatly detracted from our experience.
If you are looking to have a cheaper-then-average wedding, I would just recommend being really explicit about your budget, and continuously checking in about whether you are on track to make it. Many of her vendors, though fantastic, are not particularly cheap (which isn't a bad thing necessarily, since they're all very professional), but nevertheless I'd recommend being very explicit about your constraints and where you're willing to sacrifice elegance for affordability.
Kristina and her team was so amazing. We loved her from the moment we met her. She was fabulous to work for and all of our other vendors raved about her! We think the world of her and would recommend her to any couple planning a special day! Kristina was more than just a planner - she became a friend !
Working with Kristina was FANTASTIC. My husband and I planned a wedding in Maine from NYC, and my parents were in Pittsburgh. As disjointed as that sounds, Kristina and her team pulled everything together and made the whole process seamless and as pain-free as a wedding planning can be :) Everything about our day was completely perfect, and every detail handled -- I didn't have to lift a finger on the day-of (except to put a ring on it!)

Kristina and her assistant Chelsea proved their worth and more on our wedding day! I don't know how I would have made it through the event without them! Kristina solved problems and worked out glitches independently and when she requested my input she always had helpful suggestions so I never felt overly stressed, even when my timeline had to be modified halfway through the event! Kristina and Chelsea never stopped moving, and were on top of everything, communicating with all of our vendors and coordinating each step of my wedding flawlessly. Purple Orchid was not only efficient and professional, but also fun and personable as well. It was a pleasure working with Kristina and we recommend her services to anyone planning any event!

Hiring Purple Orchid Event Planning for my Maine wedding was the best decision I ever made. After speaking with a number of different Maine wedding planners, Kristina stood out as capable, knowledgeable, and ready to take on the job. I hired her soon thereafter and decided to go with the “full service” package- and to this day, it was the best “wedding purchase” I made.
I am a bride located in Massachusetts and wanted to have a lakeside, backyard wedding in Western Maine. Both the groom and I were set on getting married on Kezar Lake, a place that is very special to us for several reasons. However, both sets of our parents were very concerned with our choice of location. They weren’t sure it could fit 100 guests, they were terrified that the ground was not level enough, and they had no idea where to put the tent. They were worried about parking, finding adequate vendors, and catering to the guests’ needs. The groom and I were adamant about the location, and arranged for Kristina to meet us on Kezar Lake to obtain her professional opinion.
Kristina arrived on time and her professionalism was apparent from the start. We showed her where we envisioned the ceremony and reception, expecting her to be as doubtful as our parents. To our delight, she said that our vision would definitely work and even suggested a perfect place for the cocktail hour under the trees.
Throughout the course of the next year, Kristina was instrumental in executing the vision I wanted. I set up a Pinterest page, so that she could see ideas, styles, and themes that I liked. She listened to what I wanted and was receptive when I explained what I didn’t want. She was attentive to my style and also came up with great ideas. She gave me the names of amazing vendors, all of whom were in my price range. She kept me on my deadlines and reminded me of my to-do list. When my parents decided last minute that they needed a fancy port-a-potty, Kristina found them a vendor right away. We found out she made an unexpected trip to the lake (a 2 hour drive) to make sure that the Port-a-Potty and tent would work.
Fast forward to the wedding day: Kristina was incredible. She took care of all my needs and more. After all the frenzy of the previous days, I was actually able to enjoy the day. She helped set up the tables, made sure the decorations were perfect, put up signs, set up the escort cards. She constantly checked in on me, brought me sparkling water, and kept us to our schedule. We had an incident where the dock broke with the entire wedding party on it – and she dried the groomsmens’ pants! At the reception, I actually saw her filling up water glasses- something that was definitely not in her job description. Kristina wanted to make sure it was the best possible day ever and it was. We received compliments from every wedding guest including several “best wedding we’ve ever been to”. It couldn’t have been the wonderful day it was without the help of the Purple Orchid team.
Seriously, do yourself a big favor and hire Kristina. You won’t regret it!
Kristina from The Purple Orchid was absolutely wonderful in every aspect of her services. Always available and in touch, getting each detail just right. We were out of state and she became our hands on the ground, she saw exactly what we wanted and when above and beyond what we expected. All of our guests said that this wedding weekend event was unlike anything they had ever been to, it exceeded all of their expectations. That made my son, my daughter in law and us very very happy. By all means use her services, you won't be disappointed!!!
My husband and I were married last weekend in Maine. We had the best time at our wedding. It went better than we could have ever imagined, and we totally agree that this is because of Kristina.
Kristina was on point from the very beginning. She was in constant contact through email, phone, and in-person meetings. She kept track of details, made helpful suggestions, and even got in touch with vendors when I couldn't. She is easy to connect with and, even in the most chaotic moments, always comes across as calm and capable.
Bottom line: we were able to enjoy our day so much more because we knew Kristina was organized and in control. We couldn't have done it without her!
Kristina and her assistant Clementine were so key to having our day go smoothly. I cannot say enough good things about them. They never stopped moving and there was no task that they didn't mind jumping in on- grabbing buckets of ice, setting tables and centerpieces, directing the band where to go, marshaling the buses bringing in our guests who were staying off-site, and working with our MC to arrange the big introduction when we entered the reception as Mr and Mrs.
They were friendly, helpful, efficient and all around wonderful to work with. One of the best decisions we made in planning our wedding, hands down. I think the most praise I can give is this: having The Purple Orchid on our team allowed my husband and I to actually enjoy our wedding day, and for that alone, their help was priceless.
With Kristina and Clementine there to run day-of coordination for us, I didn't have to worry about anything the day of the wedding. If I had questions or concerns I just had to ask and they would get answered or remedied right away. At one point, I even had some uninvited visitors as the girls were getting ready in the morning and I said to Kristina, "I don't know if this is part of your job description..." To which she promptly replied, "It can be!" And she kindly asked the guests to return for the scheduled ceremony. What a great attitude! My mom was equally impressed with Kristina's positive attitude and ability to get things done efficiently and beautifully. She was exactly what we hoped she would be when we hired her as our day-of coordinator.
I just wanted to take a minute to write a review about my wedding planner. I know when i was first starting to look for a wedding planner i was overwhelmed with who to chose. However the minute i met Kristina in a coffee shop in Portland, i knew immediately she was the right fit for me and my fiance. She was down to earth, friendly and seemed very knowledgeable about planning a wedding. Throughout the process we continued to email back and forth, and every time she immediately responded back quickly. This was so helpful especially since i was planning a maine wedding from California. Kristina kept me informed and on track throughout the year and when the wedding day came she exceeded my expectations. She followed all of the directions i had left her, and executed my "vision" perfectly. She was great the day of the wedding and kept everything moving seamlessly. I dont know what me and my parents would have done without her! I didnt have to think about any of the details on my wedding day and instead could spend time with my new husband, friends and family! i cant thank you enough for all your hard work kristina, and i hope you have many more successful weddings in the future!

Kristina doesn't even belong on these charts-she is so incredible that 5 stars is not enough! Working with Kristina is like working with your best friend, if your best friend is extremely detail oriented, has great vendor contacts and makes it look like everything comes together with ease! Having done a fair amount of the planning and decor myself, I know it is NOT the case, but she made it look effortless AND her complete control of the timeline, the vendor parties and the in-house parties made it possible for me to enjoy the day without a single care.
She was able to recommend vendors and find me the perfect ones for me when some didn't fit (who knew finding an officiant that meshed would be so hard?); she negotiated great rates with the vendors we picked and dealt with the unexpected last minute issues (extra charge for the agreed upon outside bar-sorted with finesse, one of the rented buses gets hit by a car? no problem, replacement on its way without any disruption to guests) with humor and speed.
There are so many details that go into making a wedding amazing, and most are really fun to deal with, but Kristina deals with those that aren't fun (and the personalities that aren't fun) with grace and efficiency-I cannot possibly recommend her highly enough -other than to say HIRE HER, HIRE HER, HIRE HER. She is amazing and will bring her energy and expertise to create a wonderful day for you. I am going to have to come up with a party just to work with her again soon!
I truly could not have asked for a better experience than the one I had with Kristina. My only regret is not bringing her in earlier! Kristina is calm, genuine, incredibly hard working, creative and immensely efficient. I was planning a wedding in Maine from across the country and there was so much I didn't know that I didn't know. Less than a month before the wedding we made the decision that we needed help bringing it all together and fortunately we landed on Kristina for the job. I am a pretty laid back person, but being as completely clueless as I was to the process and to the details and not reaching out to Kristina until the final weeks before the wedding, certainly made our wedding a difficult one to take on. Kristina was able to put me at ease in such a natural way and took care of things that went far and away above and beyond her ‘job’ as if it were nothing. Our guests even took note and initiated feedback regarding her sweet nature, positive attitude and ‘energizer bunny’ work ethic. She made us feel completely taken care of and allowed us to relax and just enjoy the day, each other and our guests. Kristina’s assistance was ultimately invaluable to us and we would choose her in a heartbeat if we had it to do all over.
Kristina and her Purple Orchid team were amazing! I could not have pulled off my wedding without them! We hired them as Day of Planners and they were professional, discrete and all over the wedding timetable so that myself and my husband (or any of the family) had to worry about anything the whole night. My (new!) husband and I were so pleased with our wedding on 8/3/13 in Freeport, ME. Kristina is connected with some great vendors who made our day really perfect. She always kept us updated and emailed or called us with important details or deadlines, though never was information or communication overwhelming. She also put together an inspired presentation for the reception site-- when I showed up ready to work and set up the day before the wedding she sent me home so rest while she took care of everything from table decorations to outdoor activities. I'm not sure if and when she slept, but I was grateful to get the extra time. Our reception was in a barn and many of my skeptical (city-living) relatives were shocked to see how beautifully it was decorated. I would highly recommend her services. She is super flexible and ready to tackle and solve any problem that might arise (they always do). The Purple Orchid will help plan the perfect Maine wedding-- it certainly was for us! Working with Kristina is like having a very knowledgeable, organized friend planning your wedding.
She is very low-key and makes the whole thing feel easy. We married in Maine, but live in another state so she had weekly calls with us so we were all on the same page. It worked out very well.
But I have to say, where Kristina really shines is the day before and day of! She transformed the backyard into the vision that had been swimming around in our heads for months. On our wedding day she made sure everything ran smoothly so we could just enjoy ourselves and our guests.
It was the perfect day in so many ways, and we owe much of that to Kristina.
Our best "splurge" for our wedding day was our day of coordinator. Planning a wedding from across the country was challenge enough, I didn't want to chase people around to make sure things were running accordingly on my special day.
Kristina did an amazing job setting up, following the schedule, and checking in with us to make sure we still wanted to go through with our scheduled events. She's great, and absolutely worth it. I highly recommend anyone who is getting married to hire a day of coordinator. It's your day, and you don't want to miss it!
Working with Kristina was the best decision we made in planning our wedding. She worked incredibly hard in the months before the wedding and in the few days leading up to it, including a series of site visits to the difficult-to-reach island where our wedding was held. She was always available to discuss issues with us, and she made hugely valuable connections with other vendors in the area (band, photographer, etc.).
Because of the island location of our wedding, a great deal of attention to detail was required, and Kristina did a great job. As one example of many, she worked with the island school bus driver and developed a detailed, essentially minute-by-minute schedule of where and what time the bus would pick up our guests.
Although it went well above and beyond what we expected, Kristina was a huge help in planning our rehearsal dinner as well. She put in a great deal of time arranging logistics and making connections with vendors for that event too.
Kristina was always a pleasure to work with and we HIGHLY recommend her to other couples.

There are too many amazing things to say about Kristina. My now husband and I chose a space that we could make our own. We knew that we would need help with day of stuff since we would be busy doing our own thing. We looked on the knot and found Kristina. From the first meeting I was like yup, we are hiring you. She came to the table with a lot of knowledge and helpful tips. We were on a budget, but your wouldn't have known looking at our wedding. It was more than I could have ever imagined.
Kristina gave us a lot of great vendor recommendations and I am so glad we took her up on them. She was there with design and decorating tips. She was afraid to say maybe that isn't a great idea. Especially when my husband wanted to put tulle everywhere just because he thought it was pretty.
Kristina was there bright and early and stayed through everything. She was on top of everything. I am pretty easy going but when we had to move our ceremony from the top of the mountain to the bottom (1 day before the wedding)she was there to calm me down. Kristina was there every step of the way.
She made the night run great. Kristina was there to give me my flowers to walk down the isle, a plate of food when we went to go take pictures, and she made sure guests were where they needed to be for all the special moments. She thought quick on her feet about the heat and no air conditioning issue. If I lived in Maine I would hire her for every event, I mean I might pay her to travel to me just to have her at my event.
If you hire Kristina you will not be disappointed. She will make your day/event the best it can be. She took our simple rustic wedding and made it AMAZEBALLS!!! Set up a meeting with her and you will see exactly why you need her!
I have to say Kristina is a god send!! Literally she was with me throughout the whole planning piece of our destination wedding and I cannot thank her enough! She is so reasonably priced for what she does and I could not have done any of it without her. She is not just a wedding planner but she is a wedding/life coach as well lol. Every time I felt stressed she told me everything was going to be fine and set my mind at ease. Even the couple of days before when I was stressed about the horrible weather forecast she told me not to worry that she would make sure everything was perfect...and boy it was! The whole day was a dream..literally. The weather forecast said down pour the day of but it cleared up just in time to walk down the aisle. Everything went as planned and everything was amazing. Kristina made sure the timing was perfect and communicated with all the vendors way before the wedding . She thought of everything ..things I completely forgot about lol. I recommend Kristina for any bride that wants her dream wedding to come true. She really did so much more than I asked for and she did it perfectly.
Kristina was amazing. It was such a relief to be able to hand over the coordination to her on the day of. I was able to totally relax and just be present in the wedding, which was wonderful. I really enjoyed working with Kristina - she was down to earth and really positive. She had some great suggestions for the wedding, decorations and planning, which really came in handy. In addition to being there on the day of the wedding, she also drove up to the site (an hour each way!) to do a walk through in advance. It was a lifesaver to have her go through everything with me in advance. Her rates are super reasonable. I'd definitely recommend her. She was a pleasure to work with.
We hired Kristina and her two staffers as our day-of coordinator for our 130-guest wedding at my parents' farm in Maine. She went above and beyond, showing up early to get set up and making sure everything was done the way we had discussed in the days leading up to the wedding. She and her staff also poured champagne, cut the cake, set up our table settings, cleaned the dishes, and broke down everything at the end of the night. All our rentals were cleaned and placed back in their containers in a super efficient and organized manner. Our DJ took us aside and told he had never seen a wedding coordinator work as hard as Kristina and we had to agree. It was a huge relief to my parents and to me and my husband to have her there - we couldn't have done this wedding without her.
