The Silver Spoon

They were at the Henry Clay this past weekend for an event and one of their employees was unprofessional and rude. A small child was hurt at the event and bleeding and they offered no help! In fact when brought to management how the man treated the guest the management supported the ignorance of the employee!!! Do not hire them! Do not go to Henry Clay! Unprofessional all the way around !!!!

The people who work here are super nice, friendly, and easy to work with. However, there was a little bit of confusion because I asked them if all of our meats could be grilled and they said no problem. However, when we had our tasting they said they would rather not do grilled because it wouldn't retain the heat. It ended up being fine, I was just frustrated that I told my guests grilled chicken and fish and then it ended up being fried. The salad was also different from what we thought we decided....it was still good.

We used TSS to cater our wedding and were very happy with everything! I was nervous to find out that we were required to use this caterer when booking our wedding at the Henry Clay, and more so when I realized we were not going to have a tasting before the event. TSS did a wonderful job and put my fears to rest! The food was delicious and was executed beautifully. Plus, they provide tables, chairs, linens, and dinnerware, as well as set up and take down the space and coordinate everything with the other vendors. I didn't use a wedding planner, so this was a big help to me! The only downside I can find is that they are fairly pricey, but the food was delicious and the service was impeccable. I would recommend them and would use this company again.

Yes thats right, a caterer and yum! And I'm a bit of a foodie. Also, I know what your thinking and I SO agree, it is CRAZY that we are going to spend such a large amount on food and there wasnt a tasting! But what you have to realize is that these people are amazing, the food will be cooked to perfection. I really was not thrilled that I HAD to use this caterer if I wanted to have my wedding at the Derby Museum. I wanted to have options. And TSS is kinda pricey by comparison. Let me tell you- you get what you pay for. The food was great. Service very attentive. They did so much extra: set up the whole place, coordinated with all vendors (without my help and we didnt use a planner), the tables and entire venue was exactly as I requested, food and cake was packed up without me asking (thank you!!), they allowed for alot of flexibility in beer/wine/alc selection. I cant say enough positive things about the food and service you provided. Thank you so much!

Kathy Hensley does an amazing job. The Silver Spoon is the exclusive caterer at the Henry Clay, which is where our wedding was. Normally, I would be a little worried about booking such an important event where I am forced to use one caterer, but working with Kathy was so easy and the food is THAT good that it really made no difference. There didn't seem to be anything that she could NOT make happen -- from the delicious raw bar at our cocktail hour to our delicious dinner to the superb bar service, Silver Spoon did an amazing job. They worked very well with our florist and helped us navigate the ins and outs of the Henry Clay when we were unsure of how to use the space. I highly recommend TSS for any event where you can bring in your own caterer.

I could talk about the Silver Spoon ALL DAY! I loved every second working with them. Brides who are having a reception at the Henry Clay: Don’t even THINK about hiring a wedding coordinator. The Silver Spoon does EVERYTHING- from setting up your favors and name cards, to cleaning and packing away your cake servers and champagne flutes (seriously, they were sparkly clean), and even sending you home with leftover food and cake! They also collected our presents and cards right after the cocktail hour ended, so that they were not sitting on a table all night long, and locked them up until our parents were ready to load them into cars at the end of the night. The food itself is very good. They will work with you to create a menu that fits your budget. Also, we wanted something that wasn’t on the menu (Chicken Marsala) and they were able to make it- it was delicious! We were not able to taste any of the food beforehand, but we did go to the bridal show at the Henry Clay and tried the hor d'oeuvres, so we knew they were good. I cannot say enough fabulous things about Dina- she was our go-to person for all the planning and was there at the reception from the cocktail hour through the end. She made everything run SO smoothly that I did not have to worry about a thing. The staff (bar, servers, etc.) were all excellent, and fun to be around! They were super helpful, always made sure my husband and I had everything we needed, and I even saw a few having some fun of their own jamming out to our DJ while working hard! While their prices were a little more than we wanted to pay for our catering, after it was all over, we felt that because of the outstanding service that we experienced, the Silver Spoon was worth every last penny we paid. They think of all the things you don't think about while planning your wedding, and I highly recommend them!

The Silver Spoon offers great service. They pay attention to every detail and your glass will never be empty. They are willing to bend over backwards for you. The food is amazing also!!!

The Silver Spoon is the exclusive caterer for the Henry Clay, and I couldn't have been happier with them. Kathy, Michelle and Dina were all fabulous. I know they put on a lot of events, but I felt like their only client. They were extremely responsive. Kathy was very reasonable and in our meetings, she suggested ways to save money, rather than pushing ideas that would drive up the cost. At the reception, the food was fantastic -- I received many compliments from our guests. I have never had better food at a wedding. My guests commented that the service was excellent. The servers anticipated guests' needs but were not intrusive at all. At the end of the night, Kathy had packed up two full meals including appetizers from the cocktail hour and cake for my husband and me to enjoy.

Kathy and Michelle made me feel very comfortable and were always willing to talk or help me with whatever I needed. Many people complemented the food and the evening went flawlessly because of the expertise of TSS. My only negative was that it ended up costing a little more than expected.

The catering service was awesome. More so the pre-wedding meetings where they helped us to layout the flip of the room, the food, and just all the evening details with our wedding planner. They were accommodating and understanding with our budget and they just really helped make our day even more spectacular than we had ever imagined possible.

It was required that we use Silver Spoon catering with our venue, but I am so glad we did!!! I can't say enough good things about the Silver Spoon. They have this down to an art and had all of the little details planned out perfectly. Kathy and her staff really took care of everything so we could enjoy our reception. Not to mention that the food was delicious! Several of our guests commented on how good the food was and there was a heated debate at the wedding as to which of the appetizers was the most delicious (they were all great!). When we met with Kathy, she also gave us some really good ideas that we wouldn't have thought of - she suggested a southern autumn-y bourbon drink that our guests raved and raved about. We were also able to choose our own beer and wine (and they have an amazing selection!). They almost served as the role of wedding planner, making sure we stayed on schedule during the reception. I would highly, highly recommend them!

Kathy was our point of contact and she is an absolute dream! she made sure every detail was just exactly what we had asked for! I wanted my husband's dinner to be special and they accomodated my request. The food was phenomenal!

Not only was the silver spoon fabulous to work with, they made sure every detail of the day was taken care of! We received SO many compliments on the food and staff who were so prepared and friendly! I would recommend them to anyone!

I decided on this caterer because I liked the items they had listed on the menu. On one hand they were very helpful, handling details that seemed more appropriate for a wedding coordinator (i.e. the guest book, favors, etc). On the other hand they were a little difficult at times (i.e. we never got to do a tasting because they were "too busy") there was some confusion over the menu (we had selected to serve beef and chicken and they thought we wanted to serve both beef and chicken to each and every guest, who would serve both beef and chicken on the same plate and not as an either or option?) and we had to add a kitchen tent because apparently servers cannot walk from the kitchen indoors to the tented area. They were also a little difficult when it came to scheduling a time to meet. I had suggested a Friday afternoon which she had said she was unavailable for and so we met on a Monday, but when I told her I was meeting with the venue representative on Friday she somehow became available. I am not sure if her schedule just opened up or what but I found that a little unusual. I thought that the presentation of the food would have been a little better and given how much money we spent, nearly $5,000 for only 45 people, I thought the food would have been a little better, but guests seemed happy and they were very helpful when it came to coordinating miscellaneous wedding details. They were also very nice and responded promptly to e-mails.

All our guests raved about the food at our wedding. We had basic dishes but all the food was all too delectable to describe. The staff was very professional and helpful before the wedding, during the wedding and even after. They set up the reception area for us left the venue SPOTLESS. THere is a wide variety of entrees and appetizers to chose from. I can't give enough compliments about this company. They're definitely worth hiring!

We really enjoyed working with the Silver Sppon for our wedding reception at the Henry Clay! Kathy and her team are more than just caterers, they really help to coordinate every detail of the reception and we were so appreciative!! The wait staff was fabulous and very attentive! Our guests raved over the service they recieved!! Highly Recommend!!

This was one of the best meals I've ever had at a wedding. The menu options were fantastic and the quality of food was unparalleled.
