The food from Mattisons was amazing! That said, there are some things future couples should keep in mind. This appears to be a newer venue, and it feels like they are still working through some operational issues. After booking, you receive a packet that includes detailed guidance on tipping, and tipping remained a major focus throughout the planning process. About a week before the wedding, I had a call with the coordinator to review logistics and ensure everything would run smoothly. Unfortunately, nearly 10 minutes of that conversation focused solely on tips and having them prepared. During the reception, my stepmother and two bridesmaids were also approached regarding tips, which they later told me made them uncomfortable. The DJ was, unfortunately, the biggest disappointment. He provides a lengthy packet asking for music preferences. I sent an email outlining the important songs and what music we enjoyed and trusted him to use his professional judgment for the rest, assuming he knew how to keep the energy flowing at a wedding. I strongly recommend future couples fully plan every song and complete the packet in detail. The music during dinner felt random, unfamiliar, and very outdated. My bridal entrance music also lacked the cues that normally signal guests to stand, so most people remained seated and seemed unsure what was happening. The dancing portion of the evening suffered as well, and the atmosphere stayed fairly flat until many guests had already left. Ironically, the music only improved after my husband personally requested a song, and the DJ reportedly told him he would only play it if he got out on the dance floor. I also would not recommend the Chantilly cake option. It was not a true Chantilly cake and definitely did not appear to use a whipped cream–based frosting. When I mentioned this to the coordinator, her response was, “Well, everyone liked it but you.” I was not complaining for the sake of complaining. I simply wanted to provide feedback so future couples would know what to expect or so the venue could reconsider how it is labeled on the menu. My bridesmaids also felt frustrated with parts of the coordination process. I received repeated texts and calls about the same issues, and some questions being asked so close to the wedding should have already been resolved well in advance. I even received a phone call the night before my wedding, during my rehearsal dinner, reminding me that I had not booked the bridal cabin upgrade (an additional $600 charge), even though I was already fully aware of that decision. Overall, the venue itself is gorgeous and my wedding photos are stunning. If aesthetics are your top priority, this venue absolutely delivers. Just be aware that there are still some kinks in communication, coordination, and vendor management that may require extra attention on your part and the venue itself is not cheap. Sometimes I do think it would have been better to book a venue that wasn't all inclusive and booked everything myself. There was also a huge love bug issue so keep that in mind depending on the season you choose to book.

e most amazing staff!! I could not speak more highly of Diamond C Ranch. Our wedding was perfect. Nothing I would change about the entire day. I could not recommend this venue more!!
