ce floor was packed the whole night and our guests are still raving about the band. Their price was very reasonable and the end result was just perfect. We strongly recommend the TVK Orchestra for your event! Longer version: When we began planning our wedding in the summer of 2019, we knew we wanted a big brassy band that could deliver modern hits but also Sinatra and swing standards as both of us love to swing dance. After researching many bands online, we found Tom and the TVK Orchestra and they seemed like they would be a perfect fit. Shortly after, we met Tom in a Starbucks and immediately knew he was the band leader for us. He and his band have many years of experience and have played thousands of weddings. He reassured us that he knew the type of sound we were hoping for and that he and his team would deliver that. Spoiler alert: he was absolutely right and definitely delivered! Through the remainder of 2019 and early 2020, Tom worked with us to learn more about our specific needs and styles. We would routinely text him YouTube links of different versions of songs that we liked and he would always respond by saying he and his band could definitely do that. No problem at all. It was so reassuring to know that the music for the reception was one thing we would not have to worry about. When the pandemic struck in early 2020, we and many other couples postponed their weddings to 2021. This understandably was a major blow to everyone in the wedding industry. Obviously, we were disappointed that we had to postpone (as most couples were) and that had to be very difficult for Tom and his band. However, through the entire pandemic, Tom constantly reassured us that everything would be ok and that he and his band would be ready to go wherever and whenever we ended up having our wedding. Tom was truly the steady hand at the helm that helped us weather that storm. Tom and his orchestra also worked seamlessly with our other vendors (specifically the venue and the lighting/draping vendor) to deliver a beautiful performance that was jaw-dropping acoustically and visually. All night long, guests kept asking us “Where did you find this band??!!” Even now, whenever the topic of our wedding comes up, people immediately start raving about the band. The TVK Orchestra delivered, big time. Considering all of the music that the TVK Orchestra provided for us (trumpet at the church, trio for cocktail hour, 7 piece band for dinner, and 16 piece band for 3 hours of dancing), the price was very very reasonable. Listening to them play all night, we were so happy and so amazed by their talent. Clearly, they had done this many times as they knew exactly what songs to play to keep the dance floor full and yet also played our special requests. It was absolutely perfect. The flexibility and professionalism of Tom’s team was really apparent. Whether it was the trio, the 7 piece, or the 16 piece band, they all sounded awesome. If you’re looking for a talented and experienced band of any size for your event, we strongly recommend Tom and the TVK Orchestra. You will get beautiful music from true professionals at a very reasonable price. Hire them! You will not regret it.

was the most important aspect to us for our wedding and TVK exceeded all our expectations. Tom was so easy to work with, he was prompt with his responses, flexible and understanding of the immense stress and uncertainty of planning a wedding during Covid. Our wedding ended up being a lot smaller than originally planned and we were concerned our dance floor would be empty, but to our surprise TVK kept our guests dancing all night! It truly meant the world to me that our guests were able to enjoy themselves all thanks to TVK. We also hired them for our ceremony (piano and violin) and cocktail hour (solo piano) = best decision as well! Do not hesitate to hire them for your wedding...it will be the best decision you make and you will not be disappointed!!

Most importantly, the TALENT and energy of this band is truly unmatched! The band played songs that EVERYONE could enjoy, and the dance floor was packed with 240 guests all night long. They definitely kept the party going, and we are still receiving so many compliments on how incredible the band was. Everything we read about TVK said they were fantastic - it is TRUE! Tom and his team were extremely professional from the get go. They were patient while we went back and forth around band size, accommodating to the stricter requirements of our venue and most of all phenomenal performers during the reception. They kept people on the dance floor the entire time, knowing the perfect time to take a break (even volunteered to cut one break out!) and knowing the best timing for the variety of music we wanted. I cannot recommend TVK enough!! They definitely made our wedding night one to remember!!

THEY WERE FANTASTIC!!! The dance floor was packed the entire night. The compliments were non stop. The venue told us they were the best band they had seen. The bridal party from the wedding in the next room came to our reception because of the band. They made a perfect night even more so! We will plan our next child’s wedding around TVK’s schedule!

veryone was on the dance floor the whole night. They played a great mix of modern songs and songs from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. We even had a cousin offer to pay them to play longer. The one thing I wish they had done was tell us how many songs they'd be able to fit into the amount of time we paid for. We checked off a lot of songs on their list, and we would have narrowed it down more if we knew more of an estimate of how many they could fit in. Aside from that they were fantastic!

At first, we were skeptical that we couldn't find any videos of them online, but rest assured that they will exceed all of your expectations. During the planning process, Tom was incredibly responsive, kind, and professional. We had a number of special request songs, including our first dance and the "Curly Shuffle" for my grandfather, and TVK Orchestra learned and played all of them beautifully. Tom was a wonderful MC - he coordinated expertly with our other vendors, made us and all of our guests feel welcome, and kept the evening on track. The band was BEYOND talented. I had everyone from my teenage cousin to my grandfather call me after the wedding to rave about them. Everyone said it was the best wedding they had been to, largely thanks to TVK.

Not only did they play for the reception (9 piece band)but they also took care of all of our ceremony music (strings, trumpet, etc) and our after party (DJ). There are so many things to worry about when planning a wedding but once we signed the contract with TVK, we felt so good because they were committed to making sure the reception ran smoothly. They played our entire requested song list which included contemporary dance songs, classics, R &B, a polka, the Hora, and tons more!! They announced the bride and groom, wedding party, cake cutting, first dance, dad-daughter dance, etc etc and just kept the party interesting and FUN. We had a huge dance floor and it was literally full the entire time. They even let my daughter (the bride) sing two songs with the band which was so much fun. I can't say enough good things about TVK...we searched for a band because we were very, very picky about the sound and professionalism of a band and they met all of our expectations. My father in law played bass and sang with the band for one song, and it was a highlight of the night. I think I even grabbed the mic and helped sing along for one song (sorry!) but they were very flexible and didn't mind. Tom is an experienced musician and band leader, he doesn't want to rip you off like some Chicago bands (astronomically over priced) - he just wants to play great music and make sure his clients are happy. He coordinated with the other vendors to ensure his time line matched theirs. He took the time to get to know every aspect of our wedding. Top notch. 2) Flexible - Throughout the entire wedding reception the band was always receptive to everything that was happening. Whether that was when to announce different events throughout the night, letting our family members play the drums during "Superstition" or sing "Satisfaction," or letting us hand out glow in the dark tambourines during the dance party, they were accommodating at every venture. 3) Musicians - This band sounds amazing. They will not only learn just about any song that you ask them too, but they'll play it like you've never heard it. They learned "That Girl" by Justin Timberlake for our first dance. They played these amazing medleys of songs during our dance party. Bottom line is, they have it all. You will not be disappointed. I can't tell you how many people have told me since the wedding that our wedding was one of the best they have ever been to (including one person who found it more fun than his own... haha). I would highly recommend them, and I would hire them again in a heart beat.

They were so good at reading the crowd and choosing the best songs to entertain (though I know they’ll play only the songs you request if that’s what you prefer). In addition, I know one of them helped my bridesmaid with her faulty dress strap when she was on a break, and another captured a special moment of me and my groom together and sent it to my mom. These things might seem small, but it meant a lot to me as it showed they truly cared about the event… it wasn’t just another gig! Perhaps one of the most noteworthy things TVK did, however, was learn a brand new song for our first dance. We REALLY appreciated this! All and all I would absolutely recommend TVK Band.

Tom, who came to meet us at a Starbucks near our home after work hours, which was so helpful. Tom brought several videos so we could hear the band and see their style. Tom was thoughtful, very kind, open-minded and so very easy for us to work with. My husband and I agreed on TVK instantly and booked TVK the next day. We decided on an eight piece band for our January 9, 2016 wedding in downtown Chicago. As our wedding plans developed, we worked with Tom to add a string trio to play during cocktail hour and a jazz pianist to play during dinner. We updated the contract to include each of these additional musicians and the process was incredibly seamless. Two months prior to our wedding day, Tom sent us a set list and asked us to identify certain songs that we wanted the band to play. We also submitted additional songs that were not on the list, which TVK had no problem including. They know how to play many, many more songs than were even on the expansive set list! We also completed a music timeline for the day - details like first dance, wedding party entrance song, parent entrances, etc. To illustrate Tom's flexibility, here are two small examples from our wedding. My husband and his mom did not decide their mother/son dance song until the Wednesday prior to our wedding, and TVK performed it beautifully! My dad and I decided to dance to an Irish song, so Tom prepared an mp3 version of the song and used TVK's equipment to play the song. I, along with my mom, aunts, and cousins, also performed some traditional Irish dancing during one of the band's breaks, and TVK set up all necessary music for that segment too. Tom provided all MC services and coordinated everything so perfectly. Our dance floor was PACKED from the minute TVK started until 12:30a when they ended the music. We had a huge dance floor at the University Club of Chicago and it was completely crowded the entire time. Choosing the band was such a big and important decision for us because we wanted our wedding reception to be a really fun party for our 272 guests. And a big, really fun party it certainly was, thanks to TVK! I would recommend this band to every bride one hundred times over. On a day when logistics matter and you really want to be able to rely on the vendors, TVK is the perfect band. Each musician is professional, very nice, and extremely talented. We never had any worries about our band thanks to Tom's prompt and polite responses and ability to work within our budget to create the perfect sound. My husband and I, along with our entire family, are just so thrilled with the big party that was our wedding reception. We owe so much of that fun vibe to Tom and TVK!

KBEAT from the radio version in which they incorporated while playing live. Tom told me they were going to play the sheet music and instead I got live music with a digital drum recording. Very disappointing. However, they did do a great job at the reception and are reasonably priced. Would recommend if you don't have songs for them to play outside their own playlist.

It seems everyone there could not stop complimenting the band, the dance floor was full the entire night, and multiple of our friends who were at the wedding booked TVK that night for their own weddings in the future! We had provided them a request of 3-4 songs to play, but mostly just let them take care of what to play and it couldn't have gone any better. I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anybody. the reviews here are right! We went to see them play a wedding over Thanksgiving weekend, then immediately booked them that Monday for our July 2014 reception. They were amazing! Stuck to our list of must-play songs (and were good about not playing anything from our do not play list), sounded beautiful and had amazing energy. We had our school marching band come to surprise our guests, and TVK played along, starting a song then kind of dropping it halfway through as the marching band made their big entrance — it was a great moment. Two members of TVK provided our ceremony music, too, and did a beautiful job (piano and flute). I really have zero complaints. They were professional, easy to work with and Carly, who handles event coordination, was very responsive on email. They ended our reception with "We Are Young" by Fun, and it was just the best moment, our friends and family circling us as the band played. They really made our wedding.

He organized our timeline, worked out all the details that we wanted, was able to get the band ready to play any songs that was not on their song list. It was perfection! And with all that said, a few engaged friends are looking to book them next!

To me, the Band was one of the most important vendors we planned to hired and they couldn't have been better. We were SO HAPPY with them and their overall presence, music selection, quality of sound and emceeing at our wedding in September. We worked very closely with Crystal, often going back and forth on song selections, schedule for the evening and pretty much every single detail. Everything went off without a hitch, and they were even able to set up in just 45 minutes as we had a room flip from having our ceremony and reception in the same space. Sometimes, they are a little slow to get back to you via email and phone, but in the end, you'll have an amazing band who impresses all your guests and keeps people dancing all night. We got so many compliments on the song selection and how they played music for all ages, but not in an annoyingly obvious way. Crystal has an incredible voice and the band's overall sound is really really great. Tip: Definitely take a look at their song list and select your favorites ahead of time. We did this and they played EXACTLY what we wanted, yet made sure to keep an eye on the crowd and keep the dance floor vibe going.
