Union League Cafe is a wedding venue located in New Haven, CT. This French-inspired restaurant is located in the historic downtown, nestled in the theater district. Set in the 19th-century Beaux Arts building, this venue has an air of timeless refinement that is ideal for hosting special occasions. You can make this the backdrop for a truly remarkable occasion. Union League Cafe can host events for up to 150 guests. The Ballroom has high ceilings with ornate details, marble columns, wood paneling, a majestic working fireplace, and a facade of windows looking out at Yale University. Natural light and fresh air can enter the room through oversized French doors. The Sherman Room is furnished with elegant details and suits intimate gatherings. The Restaurant has an atmosphere of a Parisian brasserie, inviting and vibrant. This is the main dining room and is available for large gatherings and private luncheons for up to 100 guests. The Lounge provides another space for smaller weddings and celebrations, with room for up to 50 people for a cocktail reception. These premises are wheelchair accessible, providing comfort and convenience for all visitors. Union League Cafe is available for single-faith, multi-faith, and non-religious weddings, as well as elopements and other events. The venue staff can provide catering and bar services, with customized menus and choice wine pairings. They can also arrange a variety of audio-visual services to help bring your vision to life. You may anticipate exceptional cuusine and outstanding service from the staff.

Union League 100% achieved. The entire venue was the perfect backdrop to our classically elegant wedding, and the entire staff went above and beyond in every way to make sure our evening went smoothly and guests were taken care of in every single way. Throughout the planning process, Stephanie and JC were so patient and gracious with our questions, and accommodating to any of our requests, including menu flexibility and dietary restrictions. It was a pleasure getting to know them and we are so grateful for their assistance. Every one of our guests complimented us on how it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had, and what an amazing atmosphere Union League provided. We were so happy that a place that’s been our ‘special occasion’ restaurant was able to become even more special by hosting our wedding, and we cannot wait to relive our special day by continuing to return to Union League for all the years to come.

alad lol), and the service was perfect. Really appreciated how it was a one-stop shop for excellent food, drink, wedding cake, and beautiful surroundings. And honestly not super pricey for the value: our menu came to $90pp including add-ons for a vegan option, duck confit appetizer, and steak entree. Many thanks to Christina and Stephanie for a smooth planning process and beautiful execution!

The head manager and all the staff worked so hard to make the evening perfect and Christina, the Union League's event coordinator, made every effort to make our evening special and was such a pleasure to work with. I highly, highly recommend the Union League Cafe!

We were able to relax and soak in the day. The skill and flair of the staff was impressive, and all of our guests raved about the quality of the food and the service. We would highly recommend the Union League Cafe for any couple looking for a quietly elegant reception venue in New Haven.

he day after, we were treated like royalty. Christina Fitzgerald, the event planner, is kind, responsive and a true professional. With Union League, you don't need a wedding planner. Everything from the set-up to coordinating vendors was taken care of by the venue. We had the ceremony and dinner/dancing in the upstairs ballroom and cocktail hour in the Sherman Room and a guest count of 80 people. Everything was absolutely flawless. In a word, MAGNIFICENT. Everyone was complimenting how good the food was, including the cake, which was made in-house. The filet was perfectly cooked and warm when served for every guest. The quality of the wine was also very good. The waitstaff was exceptionally professional and accommodating. The elegance of the interior requires little dressing up and there are plenty of beautiful photo opportunities both inside and out. For a truly all-inclusive experience, fine dining, and exceptional service at a great value choose Union League Cafe.

restaurant is so beautiful, little decoration is needed (if any at all). The food was beyond superb and I am still getting compliments from friends and family about it. Bottom line it's beautiful, intimate, elegant, and has excellent French food with impeccable service. I would absolutely recommend Union League Cafe!

st did not even look at the Union League because we thought it would be too pricey, but they allowed us to customize the menu to fit our budget and were well more willing to work with us than any other venue we considered. The service and the food were simply excellent. The only issue was that the dance floor had to be small so that we could accomodate both dinner and dancing for over 100 people in the upstairs ballroom. If you have a wedding of that size, using both floors of the Union League would be ideal. Without a doubt, we loved having our reception at the Union League and would do it all over again given the chance.

iantor Amy Healy is a pleasure to work with and provided us we the assurance that our wedding reception would be everything and more that we asked for- and she and her staff more than delivered! Our guests raved about all of the fabulous food, drinks and and beautiful, delicious wedding cake. The staff was consistantly attentive everyone. If you want an elegant, romantic setting with 5 star food and service- Union League Cafe' should definately be a consideration!

week after Christmas, so all of the greenery and decorations were still up, and we got married in front of the fireplace. We planned our wedding long-distance (we are on the west coast), and Amy the event manager was wonderful and so easy to work with.
