I had a complicated experience at Ve'Lace Bridal. The shop is very clean and nicely decorated, and their merchandise is beautiful. I fell in love with a trunk show dress at a different bridal shop, and was told I had to make a decision that d...ay to order it or else it would be gone forever (it was not regularly carried in shops). I was by myself that day and not ready to make a decision. I contacted Ve'Lace after reading many positive reviews, and they told me that they could order a loaner version of that dress from the designer and I could try it on again and make a more informed decision. I ended up ordering the dress, and was so grateful that the woman who helped me at Ve'Lace made that suggestion!
Ve'Lace offers a discount on bridesmaid dresses to brides who order gowns through their shop. I made an appointment for my bridesmaids many weeks in advance, since two of my bridesmaids were traveling from out of state (one from FL). A week or so out from my appointment, I received an email that the appointment had been cancelled. Confused and panicked, I contacted the shop for an explanation. I was told that they were closing early that morning to have a staff holiday party. They rescheduled me to another day and were not terribly sympathetic to the fact that one of my bridesmaids was traveling from FL and was now unable to attend the appointment. I am all for staff holiday parties, but I am not sure why they had to close in the middle of a business day and cancel appointments that had been standing for weeks.
At the rescheduled bridesmaid appointment, we were given minimal assistance from our associate. She helped clip the dresses but did not have much input or suggestions for us.
At a later date, my mother called the shop inquiring about ordering a specific MOTB dress from a designer they carry, and was told she couldn't order it since it was for MOTB dress and not a bridesmaid dress. She ended up ordering the dress elsewhere.
Over the several appointments I had at Ve'Lace, I regularly waited over 20 minutes past my appointment time before I was helped.
Once the dresses were ready, my maid of honor made an appointment to pick up her dress and was then subsequently called to ask if she could reschedule because they wanted to close early.
My alterations specialist was wonderful and did a beautiful job altering my dress. I had several fitting appointments, and on one, I was called 30 mins prior to my appointment (I had already driven almost an hour to get there) and told she left my dress at home and I would have to reschedule. She felt terrible, and did make things right by not charging me for that set of alterations. I understand people make mistakes; it was just simply the icing on the cake by that point.
So ultimately, I was able to get the wedding gown of my dreams, and it was altered very well. My bridesmaids were also able to order beautiful dresses through their shop. However, the entire process was extremely frustrating and I believe that if I had gone elsewhere, it would have been handled much more smoothly. The staff at Ve'Lace seems to value their own time much more than that of their customers.
