Our experience with Village Catering was disappointing to say the least. Our wedding was on 9/12 with early setup planned for 9/11, which the company confirmed over email. Unfortunately, they didn’t arrive until about 30 minutes before we had to leave the venue, after we had paid extra for that setup time. Betsy, our contact, was apologetic and offered to refund the setup fee, which we appreciated even though it didn’t offset the added cost and stress. Things happen, I understand that signals can get mixed with evening planning - they offered to make things right, so we moved on.
The actual wedding day itself went smoothly! The food was good and service went as planned. Which makes it so weird that they would then choose to ignore us following the event.
Following the wedding, our emails following up on the promised refund went unanswered. When I finally called last week I was told someone would “figure out what happened” and get back to me. It's been almost two months of minimal communication. Personally I would never recommend a company that fails to honor what they say and can't show up on time. Why a company would ruin an otherwise successful experience is beyond me.
5 star review, seriously. We just married this past weekend and I’m still getting messages about how delicious the food was, and hot! The Village was perfect from day one. The tasting was set up to our preferences and had an abundance of options to try. Our coordinator from the team sat with us and listened to our wants and assisted (in a non pressured way) us in creating the perfect menu for our day. As the bride, of course I changed my mind about things once or twice along the way, and they were pleasant and extremely responsive via email to any question I had. The day of, the food had to come from nearly 40 minutes away, so to say the buffet was hot food, is incredible! The team did a wonderful job in setting the linens and tables, along with a rapid teardown of the buffet table to make room for dancing! Not a detail went missed, not a service incomplete. We couldn’t be happier!!
Village Catering did absolutely amazing the whole day. From set up, to food, EVERYTHING was amazing. Not one single person said anything negative about our food choices for apps & dinner. 10/10 recommend. The absolute best food- then everything was professionally boxed up at the end. They also made sure we had apps since we missed cocktail hour and had our plates made and served at the table. We also paid extra for tear down and they did EVERYTHING.
I wish I had read these reviews before we signed with Village Catering. We hired them for my daughter's wedding last weekend and over 50(!!!) of our 200 guests didn't get the vegetable and potato sides. It was incredibly embarrassing. The Village rep in charge at the wedding apologized profusely and seemed horrified - he kept saying "this is not acceptable." He took my number and assured me the CFO would be calling me Monday morning. But, like other reviewers experienced, crickets.... I can't believe the unprofessionalism of them not addressing this major problem immediately. When *I* called *them*, the lady was rude and told me that they left pans of food back at their prep kitchen and that is why they ran out. We paid for water service at tables, including refills, but this was not done well, if at all. As far as the food quality, the fried chicken breast was delicious at the tasting and lousy at the reception - very dry and not at ALL like what we were served at the tasting. Our wedding day was perfect except for this terrible experience with Village Catering, and they don't even seem concerned with resolving the issue, which to me suggests maybe this is not a rare occurrence. Beware.
Village did an amazing job catering my wedding! Got so many compliments on how tasty the food was, and really appreciated the fair pricing.
We were so happy with our experience for our wedding going through Village Catering! The planning, from being able to attend a tasting, choose our menu for our reception, and be able to customize all of our food choices was exactly what we were looking for. They made the process simple for us and we really appreciated how thorough their communication was. They really take care of their clients and make sure that everything turns out as smooth as possible. Our guests loved the food too!
AMAZING!! We got SO many compliments on the food and appetizers all night. Many guests stating it’s the best they’ve ever had!! I wish they had a restaurant because my husband and I would be regulars. Service was amazing at the head table and easy to work with!!
The Village Catering team is absolutely wonderful! We used Village Catering to cater our rehearsal dinner. Two Village Catering employees came, and their service was incredible. They were kind, hardworking, and very helpful. They even helped us set up tables and chairs which wasn’t part of their job. They set up linens, tableware, and the buffet efficiently and with attention to detail. They were very professional and knowledgeable about the food that was served. The food was also delicious! We received many compliments about how tasty it was. We would definitely recommend Village Catering for all of your catering needs!
We had a wonderful experience with the village catering company! The communication was great, they allowed us to pick up dishes early because we wanted to place them ourselves the day before the wedding. Pricing was reasonable and the food was amazing! We got so many compliments on the food! The employees the night of the wedding were wonderful and did their best to make sure it all went well.
We just got married in Wooster a few weeks ago and we used Village Catering and they were great. Very affordable, great communication, got lots of compliments on the food, it was hot and fresh, and they even sent us home with leftovers. The staff assigned to us were very kind and hard working. We even had a couple of special diet requests, which were accommodated with no problem (yes, there’s an extra charge, but they’re making specialty meals outside of your menu, of course its not going to be free). They accommodated a special request for two to go meals for our ring bearer and flower girl, as well as pulling aside appetizers for the bridal party since they were missing cocktail hour.
I had zero issues with communication, invoicing, price transparency, etc. My only complaint is that their travel fee is a little steep since we were literally 7 minutes down the road from their location.
A friend used them last year and had a great experience as well.
Village Catering really hit it out of the park with all of our selected dishes for the day of our wedding! Everyone we've talked to has complimented the food and the Ice Cream Brownie Bar. The employees working the buffet and the bar were awesome and made sure everything ran smoothly.
If I had one area to recommend improving, it would just be communication. The first individual we worked with was great, but I believe he left or moved departments and when that happened, some things got lost in translation. We had to remind them several times we added the bar service and when we got the final invoices, things were more money that originally invoiced. When we brought it up, they were fixed, however if you're giving a quote, I'd think keeping it the same would be best!
I’m not sure what has happened to this company but a decent amount of recent reviews echo my same issues. I would not trust the 5 star/overall review score of Village.
Village was the one vendor we were highly disappointed in throughout our wedding process. On the wedding day itself, things went smoothly for the most part with your employees and we are super grateful for that! Judy and Bob, the bartenders, were great and I really enjoyed them! It was the correspondence with Bri and the sales/invoicing, etc. team that was infuriating.
It started with our first quote being way higher than we were expecting so we had to make adjustments which wasn't a huge deal. When we asked to remove the setup and tear down fees ($700), as we had a day-of coordination to help with both of these, we were told we would have the pick up, clean, and return the china rental ourselves. This was a surprise to us because the setup and tear down are described as "Linen Placements, Table Settings, Napkin Folding, Complete Table Clearing, Clean Up After Event, Staying till The End, etc." in both the quote and invoice. It wasn't communicated to us that removing set up and tear down would result in a change in the china. Being from out of state, we weren't able to wash all of our dishes and return within the 48 hour time requirement. We were also told that removing the water, tea, etc. would "unbundle" our meal prices and each person would cost a couple dollars more - something else that wasn't communicated until we tried to remove it.
During our tasting, we liked the employee we worked with a lot! She said to request her specifically if we wanted to work with her on wedding day. I mentioned it once on a phone call and then followed up with them in one of the emails that followed. They responded that they would be sure to let her know since “I’ve asked twice now.” ??
Village has a steep 22% service fee that is applied to the whole bill - even to the other fees - bartender fee, travel fee, and set-up/ tear-down fees. I questioned this and was told it was accurate however at this point, I didn’t trust the employee I was working with at all and it felt like she was trying to get every dime she could out of us. There was 0 understanding or customer service.
When I had my final guest count and list of allergies from guests, I needed 4 specialized meals. We were then informed that because we had items on our buffet that these guests could *technically* eat, the specialized meals would be $25 each on top of the $21.99/person, making dinner $47 for those people. 1 guest has a serious gluten allergy, the other 3 did not eat meat and we did not have any entree/protein items they could eat. I felt like that was extreme to expect our guests to eat sides as their meals unless we paid $47 pp.
On the day of, none of my allergy/restriction guests were given their meals. I requested a refund for these meals and was denied.
When it came to paying our final invoice, we had to request it. It was then sent incorrectly, as we were told we had a $0 balance. After questioning it, we were told we had a $1400 balance. The link to pay was then sent incorrectly. We finally got the link and paid out of honest on our end even though they were negligent.
All in all, it felt like every step with Village came with added steps, complications, and frustration. Bri's responses were curt, not understanding, and horrible customer service at best. Would NOT recommend to my worst enemy.
Village Catering was recommended to us by our venue and we had a great experience with them. We went to a tasting and loved all of the food options especially for cocktail hour. Everything was pretty easy and stress free. We did have to make some last minute changes but nothing major.
I do NOT recommend using this catering company! Shady is the best way I can put it kindly. We were very impressed with their menu selection. As our wedding was getting closer, we went to one of their tastings. Their communication was amazing at the beginning. We were told to select any of the linens in their side room and we picked our favorite. We sat, wrote up a contract and decided on a tentative menu. Leading up to the wedding, again, great communication. DAY OF OUR WEDDING!!!! Picked up our linens, got to our venue to find table cloths VERY obviously labeled "STAINED", yet they gave them to us, we also were told about 2 weeks prior to the wedding that the linens we picked were not an option, even though we were told the day of the tasting they were and they were in the original contract. Again, at our tasting, we were told we would get the Brownie Ice Cream bar complimentary due to the fact our wedding was a week day. Our options were, get a percentage off, or do the "complimentary" Ice cream BROWNIE bar. If you look at the menu, that comes with all types of crumbles of toppings to put on top of your Ice cream BROWNIE..... Well..... nope, no brownies in site or crumbles for toppings. I reached out on the way to our honeymoon in hopes that they would work with me considering. Got passed on to Kimberly Siracuse, Director of Human Resources and Client Services. She listened to everything, then stated it was "Complimentary" so they could make any changes they saw fit. I reminded her that we took that rather than a discounted price for being a weekday wedding. She then came back saying they would refund me for the linens to try and make up for their mistake. I was told on July 29th that I would have a check mailed to me by end of August. I have reached out more than once to see what happened, trying to NOT leave a bad review, I have now gotten no responses to my last 2 emails checking in on the status. It is now the end of September and our wedding was in June!! I would NOT recommend them due to them being shady/not honest/ and they clearly do not care about customer satisfaction. I even advised I would wait to leave the reviews to see if they would even attempt to make things right. I have now been ignored so this is my actual one and ONLY negative review of our wedding!!
Highly recommend using the village for your wedding! You get so much food for the right price, and it all tastes amazing! We had so many people complimenting the food. Staff was excellent to work with and very professional.
Service was prompt and the food was amazing. Loved that they offered gluten free options! super affordable too.
one thing I'd recommend is taking into consideration the number of guests for cocktail hour and the number of appetizers. we ran out fairly quickly.
I cannot recommend this company enough. We used Village Catering Company to cater our wedding this past weekend. They exceeded all expectations on every aspect. Melissa was our head caterer and she was AMAZING. She was personable, experienced, on top of things, and the sweetest woman I’ve ever met. The food was absolutely delicious and made the evening. Every single guest came up to tell me how good the food was, the DJ even gave a shoutout to the food and caterers because it was that delicious! They brought the wrong chargers on accident and that problem was fixed within 20 minutes by the amazing team. They did everything from bartending to cleaning up the venue at the end of the night and it was totally worth it. Highly recommend this catering company!!
Village Catering did and AMAZING job! They came right at 9am to start setting up, so everything was ready for cocktail hour and dinner. The alfredo pasta was sooooooooo good. I got tons of compliments on the food, several guests said it was the best and most tender beef they have ever had. I would highly reccomend using them for your next event!
We had a pasta bar and the food was great and everybody enjoyed it. We had a tasting before hiring them for the wedding and the food was great then too. Unfortunately they were over an hour late getting to the venue and then they were rushed and flustered to get set up. They provided champagne flutes for our toast and poured the champagne for our guests but then started clearing the glasses off the tables before the drinks were even finished. They brought the wrong tea and when they cut our cake they did not cut all of the layers and flavors so we had to cut it ourselves. I had to call to initiate the finalization of the menu and contract right before the final payment was due because I wasn't getting any response from emails or texts. Overall, the food was good but working with them ended up being more stressful leading up to the wedding and the day of.
Village Catering's food was absolutely delicious! Our guests raved about the tender meat, delicious potatoes and pasta dishes, and fresh salad and veggies. The day-of staff was very attentive, kind and helpful. We had a troubling experience with their admin team, who two days before the wedding stated that our invoice had not included the correct cost of a hot chocolate bar and that we still owed them money even though we had already paid the finalized balance two weeks prior. The issue caused us to have to scramble to fulfill the hot chocolate bar needs that were not going to be covered by the catering team due to this mistake. We were disappointed that the admin team did not own up to their mistake and only brought this to our attention with 48 hours notice. Despite this set back, we were still very impressed with the overall quality of the food and the service at the event.
Village Catering's food is fantastic, staff is exceptional, and the experience working with them was almost perfect. It was very hard to give them four stars because they went above and beyond to make sure my Taco Bar dreams came true. They had a special sampling for me and my mom visiting from CA. Everything was perfect until our wedding. Our dinner arrived over a hour and a half late. As anyone knows the timeline for your wedding day is very important. In order to keep on time we had to do our first dance, mother son dance, and cut our cake at the beginning of our reception, and it just threw the whole timeline off. Luckily none of the guests noticed, and all of the guests absolutely loved the tacos and all of the food. The staff at the wedding were so kind and helpful. I really do wish I could give 5 stars, but having food arrive late was just a huge stress on a day that I did not need any extra stress.
I think the wedding food was what I was most nervous for, but Village Catering did not disappoint! We got SO many compliments on how delicious the food was. The beef and cheese stuffed chicken options were so good, the potatoes were delicious, lots of compliments on the veggies too! The woman who was in charge on our wedding night was so kind and polite and kept making sure we were good!
I did feel like the communication was a bit of a mess because it felt like I talked to so many people throughout the process, but it wouldn’t deter me from using them! I also couldn’t be given a concrete time for day-of set up, which was a bit stressful because of centerpieces and decor, but they ended up doing everything on time and it was all hot and delicious and ready to go! Totally worth it for the food!
Thank you Village Catering! 10/10 awesome food!
Where do I start. Their response time averaged between 1-2 weeks. The menu and price did not get finalized until 2 days before my wedding due to poor communication. We had our menu planned as all vegetarian. When we scheduled our tasting they said nothing custom-made, just what they had on site. So when we got there they had pasta, potatoes, and salad for us to try. No main entrees that we selected - had we tried the eggplant parm we would not have ordered it. It was squishy and dry. I repeated the same information probably 10 times to 10 different people every time I tried getting ahold of them- including the allergy of one of our guests - and they still forgot his plate. Then the worst part - all the food they served was cold!! I thought it was just ours because it sat there a few minutes but I had multiple guests say the same thing. The apps were all cold too. There is also a $5,000 MINIMUM which wasn't disclosed until months after we had been planning. We had 50 people. We ordered cider/coffee/donuts for before the ceremony - the donuts didn't get put out until the ceremony began. In the first quote they charged us $150 for the cider/donuts, the second had $200 and the 3rd had $250. So I'm not sure why the same thing went up. I didn't get an arrival time until the day before. Still never received a contact person. I have no positive things to say about this company.
We hired Village Catering for our wedding at the Mohicans Treehouse Resort in Glenmont, OH. We ordered hors d’oeuvres, a plated dinner, and a dessert bar through Village. The food was delicious and well plated, the staff was pleasant, and communication leading up to our wedding day was great. Our guests LOVED the grilled cheese shooters during cocktail hour, and so did we. Highly recommended!
I hired Village Catering for a private 70 person house party and was SO impressed by this companies services. Village Catering and my coordinator Ashleigh was responsive with my initial inquiry (other companies were not) and communications throughout my 3 month planning process was excellent. On the day of the event, 2 sharply dressed caterers appeared with the most delicious food. The guests raved about how perfect every looked and how delicious the food tasted, everything served on time and in the most professional manner. I highly recommend this company and will reach out to rehire for my next event.
Thank you! Michele D - Wooster, Ohio
Got tons of compliments on the food!! We did their Summerville salad, French roasted potatoes, red pepper penne pasta, and asiago Crusted Chicken. All of it was awesome. I also asked if I could have a late night pierogi bar, they said yes and it was a hit! They were very quick with set up (the napkin folding was gorgeous) and everyone got their food in a timely matter, no hiccups or complaints!
We used village catering for our wedding last weekend. We first experienced their food at Today's Bride Bridal event in downtown akron. We sampled their food at a few events and their food was always consistent in taste and quality. Their customer support staff was helpful throughout our planning process. The servers at our event were very professional and efficient. We couldnt have asked for a better catering company to cater our wedding!
Village Catering was truly amazing and went above and beyond for us! They were incredibly patient every step of the way with all our changes and questions! Allison was super responsive and awesome! We hired them for both the rehearsal dinner and for the wedding day, and the food was delicious and well organized! We even had a miscommunication on the rehearsal dinner menu that I totally missed, but Melissa went above and beyond to fix it for us! She was so incredible! Both her and John, our event day coordinators, were incredible and super sweet! And I love that they are a Christian run company! They are extremely respectful and it’s clear they hold themself to great moral standards, they’ve been so great to work with! Highly recommend!
Village Catering was everything we could’ve asked for for wedding catering! Leading up to our wedding, communication was great and VC staff were more than willing to change and adapt as our wedding day details shifted. The food was hot and delicious and the staff was friendly! Everyone left our wedding feeling full and happy. As soon as the first table finished their dinner, we began getting compliments on the food and we’ve been getting them ever since! We barely had any leftovers because people jumped at the chance to get seconds! We would 100% hire this company again!
I had to caterers lined up for my wedding reception, but the Village Catering company blew them out of the water. Ali Sprague was my go-to person and answered so many questions most dutifully and respectfully. The tasting that was set up for my partner and I was very well done. All the food was delicious! We received so many good reviews for our choice of beef medallion, mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, apple pecan salad, and the tea we ordered for the tables was delicious! The day of the helpers were respectful and outdid themselves in being helpful! They did more than asked. Thank you.
Village Catering did an awesome job for our wedding day! The food was delicious and served efficiently! The staff was so helpful and friendly at our reception. We got compliments about the asiago crusted chicken and the beef medallions!
The communication leading up to the day was not as perfect as I would have liked and the week before they told us they were no longer able to deliver our sheets cakes for us, which was planned several months ahead of time. However, Brian, the President of Sayre Hospitality Group, called me personally to address my concerns and he made sure that our wedding day was perfect!!!
Our experience with Village Catering Company was nothing short of amazing. Between the communication and food, it was perfect. We had Village Catering at a few weddings in previous years and remembered how wonderful their food was! It was only fitting that we were able to have them cater our own wedding in October. Ali was extremely sweet and very easy to reach out to any at time. The food was exceptional and left our guests pleasantly fulfilled! We are so thankful that we were able to have this company cater for us. Thanks for being such an awesome part of our big day!
The Boxlers
They made the whole catering process easy. The staff that was there the day of the wedding for set up, serving and clean up was helpful, kind and professional. They handled everything that day without any issues. We had so many compliments on the food from wedding guests.
Village Catering Company catered our wedding on 11/18/22 and did an amazing job! Food was sooooo good everyone kept talking about it after. Everything went so smooth the service was fantastic! Would recommend. Thank you! (Allison Foster & Trish are the ones you want to work with, as they are the ones that helped me the most. Both very kind /knowledgeable and on top of things)
The only reason they received the second star is because of Allison, the contact that helped me to gather all of my information. She was very kind and very helpful in anything I needed. If it wasn't for her, they would have only received one star. They were an hour and a half late the day of the wedding, they didn't come prepared at all! They didn't have enough napkins for my place settings, they were wiping plates off because they were oily as they were setting them at tables, I had several of my guests tell me that the sour cream they brought for my baked potato bar was expired or didn't taste right. They were supposed to bring HOT water for my hot cocoa bar which I paid them to take care of and they came with no water, interrupted my father/daughter first look to ask if the water at the venue was drinkable then used MY decorations to fill their water pots with luke warm water...it wasn't even hot. My maid of honor told them that they were using my decorations and that we were going to be using them for an activity and their smart remark was "We'll clean them out". I also paid them extra to tend to and refill my cookie table which they also didn't do because at the end of the night the table was practically empty, but I found 3 full boxes of cookies sitting at the back of the table that were never put out, but could have been. I was told they would offer seconds and they never did. I was told if there were any leftovers we would receive those as well and they never left those either. I had approximately 5-7 guests not attend because of last minute things that came up so in my opinion there was no reason not to call for seconds or have leftovers. I did however see their staff indulging in the food, which is fine, I knew my payment went towards their food too, but they had larger portions than they provided my guests with which I didn't feel was right. This was the worst experience I have had and I would NOT recommend them to anyone. I have reached out to see about correcting the problem and all I get told is, we'll be in contact. My wedding was a week ago and I haven't heard anything from anyone.
VCC was great to work with from start to finish! They communicated well and were responsive through the process. They accommodated to my gluten free needs & dreams for my wedding day!
Our photographer’s assistant (who has been to lots of wedding) - raved about the food & said it was “the best food she has ever had at a wedding” .. now that’s saying something!
We had so many complements on the food on our wedding day and the friendliness and efficiency of the staff! Highly recommend!
The food was delicious, and the staff was great! But I would not recommend renting any linens through here… I arrived to pick mine up only to find they did not have the color that I had requested (discussed much before then), with no notice or call given to me beforehand. I could’ve talked it out with my now husband on the colors and instead had to make the decision without him. The staff was helpful in helping me pick out a replacement color, but I still ended up with three mismatched table clothes.
The food was great, and the tasting when we first tried here was amazing! They also knew my venue already, so it was nice to not have to worry about familiarity.
When we did the tasting for our wedding they only had us try the "popular" items, not which items we were serving at our wedding which I found to be very odd. We were serving steak as one option (which is very expensive) and I had asked prior to try it since I would like to taste what I am paying thousands for. The day of my wedding I had called early in the morning asking for one piece of plan chicken to be set aside. ( We were serving both chicken and steak so I didn't think it would be a huge deal to just have one piece of chicken plain-less work for them). I do realize I called extremely last minute so that is on me. They were extremely accommodating when I called with the last minute change. However they charged me $30 for one single piece of chicken with nothing on it which after the $6,500 spent on the food total, I found to be absolutely absurd for one piece but I do know I asked very last minute. The pasta we got was to die for. The chicken was amazing and got many compliments. Salad and everything else was great. However the steak was not. It was cooked very inconsistently. Some had it cooked perfectly and said it was amazing, mine was way too overcooked, and some were very undercooked. I don't know the first thing about catering and making that much food with having to keep it warm and if it gets cooked more or not while being kept warm but that is just what my experience was. The staff has been fantastic through the whole process though which is a plus. Very helpful and friendly the entire time. Most of the food was great, I just really wish after spending thousands and thousands of dollars we would be able to try exactly which items we want to serve, and not have gotten charged another $30 for one single piece of plain chicken.
I really can’t say enough good things about this company. I struggled a lot in the beginning of my wedding planning trying to find a caterer that could meet all my needs at an affordable price, and Village Catering did just that! They had a wonderful wide variety of food options to choose from. I myself am vegan and had several guests with dietary restrictions and Village Catering had such excellent options. Usually at weddings, the vegan option is some form of a plate of vegetables, but I got to have a delicious butternut squash ravioli! It was great to work directly with them for desserts and my cake as well. The buffet tables were decorated beautifully and the staff were so professional and kind. I also need to give a special shout-out to my main contact Allison F. I lost track of how many times I reached out to her with questions and she was always so quickly responsive and helpful. It made the entire process very easy. Thank you again for all your great work and help!
We highly recommend booking with Village Catering for your wedding day, we promise you won’t be disappointed!! The pricing is AMAZING in comparison to the other caters and honestly the food was DELICIOUS, the service was impeccable by the staff too. When we went for our food tasting to pick out our entrees for wedding day we were blown away by all the samples we were able to try. Wedding day they ran everything smoothly and our guests said it was some of the best food they ever had at a wedding !! Working with Madeline was super easy and we couldn’t be happier we chose Village Catering for our food vendors !!
Madeline at Village Catering made sure every aspect of my precious sons wedding was nothing short of amazing. From the beautiful décor to cocktail hour to the main course. We are so blessed to have found Village Catering, we had a very large amount of guests and everyone raved about the food
thank you Madeline
Village Catering Company offers a wide variety of dinner options, most of which tasted great during our tasting. However, the quality seemed to drop off when it came to the day of our wedding. Our guests did rave about the beef medallion roast being the highlight of their meal, but that's about it. Melissa and her team did a wonderful job accommodating our requests the day of our wedding and that is the only reason this rating isn't lower. Leading up to the event was stressful due to the inconsistent communication we received. In addition to this, we felt like VCC was more concerned with getting every last dollar they could, rather than focusing on making us happy with our caterer decision. Overall, this company isn't worth the value you'll pay.
Village Catering was fairly easy to deal with, considering that I live 3 hours away from where we hosted the rehearsal dinner. The manager at the hotel also communicated with them to ensure the tables were set up in enough time for us to put out centerpieces. The wait staff did a very good job of serving and cleaning up. The food was as expected and tasted good. No complaints—I would use them again.
1 star is too many. Never would use them again. They lost our account, told us to pay what we “think we owe” and once they find it they will refund if we over paid. We choose items like chair covers but was never charged for them even though it was discussed verbally so they never arrived. Since we booked during the Covid pandemic Ali have me the choice of colors of silverware with no additional charge but the wrong color was delivered “she did not recall this conversation” so apparently it didn’t happen and told me it would be a additional charge .75 per set of silverware. We paid our bill off in march and they tried to say we increase the number of people coming to my wedding 3 times and send us a bill for $219 even though we never changed guest count and my venue director told her the same thing multiple times. This place is awful and the food you sample taste nothing like the food the day off. Chicken was incredibly dr. I would never recommend this place
Do not use this company.
Village Catering offers so many items that the hardest part is choosing what to enjoy. The food was outstanding and many guests commented on it. The appetizers were fanciful and delicious. We didn't even notice all the work going on in the background. We highly recommend this group for your event!
I was honored to be apart of a beautiful wedding for a perfect couple and, unfortunately Village Catering tried ruining the BIG day! Typically you should be able to go off of online reviews but, this is DEFINITELY NOT THE CASE! The company(if you want to call them that) was over an hour late to the venue, the bride and groom paid for them to deliver the wedding cake and Village Catering thought it would look better smashed on one side. On top of all that the bride specifically requested for them not to make Alfredo pasta but, once again Village Catering new what the newlyweds wanted and it was obviously Alfredo pasta. Along with the wrong pasta they did not bring enough for the event! I wish I could give them negative stars because they deserve every bit of it with the services they gave the bride and groom. Please stay away!
Overall horrible experience. They were an hour late for dinner, their food was horrible, and they didn’t have enough to feed all the guests. I was one of the last ones to get in line for food and I barely got enough to feed a toddler. The wedding cake they charged to deliver, arrived smashed and almost inedible. Took things that weren’t theirs as well. Don’t waste your time or money on this unprofessional and underprepared company. TRASH
Save yourself a headache. I was a groomsman in a wedding last weekend and this catering company was the only issue. When the bride heard the dinner was going to be late I asked the lady that was serving appetizers and she told me they were only running 15 minutes late. Dinner proceeded to be over an hour late. The cake was smashed and they didn’t even cut it until the last song was playing. Not to mention the bride and groom told them they wanted to save the top of it and they cut it and served it. The last thing you need on your wedding day is to worry about the caterer. Save yourself a headache and choose elsewhere.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Only leaving 1 star because I can’t leave zero. I was in a wedding party last weekend. Dinner was served an hour late. They brought the wrong appetizers and Alfredo pasta which the bride and groom did not order because the bride hates Alfredo. They charged $250 for the delivery of the cake and the cake was smashed when it arrived to the venue. Food also looked nothing like the pictures it was very poor quality and THEY DID NOT BRING ENOUGH FOOD! To top everything off they took zero accountability when these issues were addressed after the fact by the groom to the owner of the company and had nothing but excuses and blamed everyone else for he and his company’s utter incompetence. The owner more rude and company more unprofessional than you can possibly imagine. Do not let these people ruin your wedding too. Do yourself a favor and use someone else.
