Wedding Cakes by Mezzanine Catering

We opted to do donuts instead of cake for our wedding and Courtney did a fantastic job! She was very easy to work with and even created a donut for us that wasn't on her standard list. Guests raved about them and they tasted fresh even the next day from the leftovers we took home!

We used Mezzanine catering for our recent wedding. Courtney was amazing to work with! I wanted a very minimalistic cake and Courtney nailed what I envisioned! We had carrot cake and everyone was raving about it! We also had a bunch of mini desserts that were so good! Mezzanine was extremely reasonable in price. Would definitely recommend!

We used Mezzanine for pies for our rehearsal dinner and for our wedding cake, as well as some other small desserts. Every step of the process was easy and delicious! Courtney is so sweet and was quick to respond and easy to communicate with! We had a tasting with her where we tried multiple types of pies, cupcakes paired with different frostings and fillings, and multiple small desserts. We had to take some of it home because she prepared so much! That made it easy for us to make a selection. We ended up having pecan, apple, and cherry pies for one night, which were all delicious. And for our wedding, we cake almond cake with raspberry filling and spice cake with cream cheese frosting and salted caramel - so delicious that we cut both tiers of the cake during cake cutting because I insisted we have them both! We also got chocolate cupcakes, key lime pie bites, confetti cookie sandwiches and coconut panna cotta. All delicious, but I think the panna cotta was the star of the show! Delicious and seamless experience!

We got cupcakes from Mezzanine and they were DELICIOUS! Everyone at our wedding told us how much they loved the cupcakes and how each flavor they tried (we had 4 different types of cupcakes) was outstanding. Very glad we picked Mezzanine!

We ordered a selection of miniature desserts with Mezzanine and they were absolutely beautiful! We particularly loved the mini whoopie pies, cheesecakes, cookies, and hand pies. It was so unique- just something we hadn't seen another vendor offer! They were beautifully made and a big hit- there were hardly any leftovers! We can't recommend them enough!

We had a fantastic experience working with Mezzanine for our desserts. They were super accommodating and listened to our special requests for a dessert bar and the options we wanted to offer. We wanted to provide something local for our guests who were traveling to the Seacoast NH area for the first time and we were able to serve mini cider donuts, Whoopie pies, and cheesecake! Would highly recommend working with them!

As a dance floor lover and cake hater, I knew I wouldn’t want to take time out of our wedding night to cut cake or sit down to eat it. Mezzanine worked with us to eliminate that step by providing the most delicious, beautifully displayed, cupcakes for our guests. They even made gluten free and vegan options for our guests with allergies/restrictions! I may not have eaten a single one on wedding night, but the following day I think I had no less than 3 for breakfast. Outstanding!

I cannot put into words how grateful we are to Courtney for making our wedding cake. My husband and I made the spontaneous decision to get married on our 8 year anniversary which was less than a month away. Courtney was able to set us up with a tasting and make our cake with less than 3 weeks notice. We knew we had to go with Mezzanine after the tasting- there were so many wonderful options and the hardest part of the entire process was deciding which flavor combinations to pick. She was kind, professional and full of ideas! The cake surpassed all of our expectations. It was beyond beautiful, exactly as discussed, and absolutely delicious. Our guests could not stop raving about it!

We highly recommend Courtney! She welcomed us with a beautiful and very delicious cake tasting, which made our decision to work with her very easy. We loved working with her, she made the whole process seamless and easy and she made our dream wedding cake come to life! My father in law is gluten-free and she offered to provide some gluten free cupcakes free of charge for him, without hesitation. We received a lot of compliments from our guests on the presentation and taste of the cake! Can't recommend her enough :)

We originally were hiring Mezzanine for the catering of our wedding and have a friend make the cake - the cake plan completely changed once we tried Courtney’s cakes at our food tasting! We ended up getting a cutting cake that was absolutely beautiful - we asked to be surprised and it was so amazing seeing her immense talent and artistry and was such a fun surprise on our wedding day! Not only was it beautiful but it was the BEST tasting. We opted for cupcakes as well and chose three different flavors and cookies. Our guests were raving about all of the dessert and how the cakes were the best wedding cake they had had. 100% work with her - she was absolutely wonderful, so kind and so humble. On top of all of this, my husband and I had to postpone our original wedding from July 2020 to September 2022 and on our original wedding date, Courtney and Mezzanine made us a cake to help us celebrate and brighten our day.

Courtney was absolutely amazing! Our cake was gorgeous and delicious. It was extremely difficult to pick a cake flavor because of how wonderful they all were. The week of our tasting my husband and I tested positive for covid. She was able to put everything into containers and leave it outside for us to pick up - this made it so much less stressful for the both of us. Amazing product and service!

I can't begin to explain how impressed I was with Courtney. It seemed like we could either find cakes that were beautiful but tasted terrible, or vice versa. Until we had our tasting at Mezzanine and she knocked it out of the park!!! My cake was stunning but I also was licking my fingers every time I ate some at the tasting, the wedding, and the leftovers we took home after! Very impressed. We also had a selection of separate desserts she created for us that were also a lovely addition. I highly recommend checking them out :) Courtney was also super responsive to my many questions which I am always appreciative of.

HIRE COURTNEY FOR YOUR CAKE! A direct quote from one of our guests: "Jaime, I need to tell you something. I'm 40, okay? I have been to a lot of weddings. A LOT. That cake is hands down the best wedding cake I have ever had in my life." We can confirm, he wasn't kidding! My husband's favorite cake flavor is carrot, so we chose one tier of our two-tier cake to be carrot cake with cream cheese filling. He hasn't stopped talking about this cake since our wedding day almost 7 months ago. It's his favorite carrot cake he has ever had. We didn't have the pleasure of meeting Courtney in person or speaking to her prior to our wedding day; we coordinated everything via Victoria. A week and a half before our wedding day, I sent over two cake inspo pics to Victoria asking if Courtney could maybe do something similar. When we saw the cake for the first time at our wedding, it was basically the same cake from one of the Pinterest photos but with colors that matched our wedding palette! I was blown away. So not only did it taste divine, it was also so aesthetically pleasing and pretty. You don't have to spend thousands of dollars on a wedding cake. This was affordable and everything we hoped for, and Courtney is a sweetheart to boot! Highly, highly recommend!

Courtney made our cake and donuts for our wedding; March 2022 Bedford Village Inn. She set up the most beautiful tasting for us, originally I wanted to do just donuts but her cake was so delicious we went with a small two tiered cake and three different flavor of donuts (She even created a flavor for us - Maine Blueberry Ale!) Our guests loved the variety and display! Courtney was easy to work with, would communicate quickly and is so creative. I see more and more weddings skipping the cake for different desserts and Courtney had so many options. She showed us the cutest fruit hand pies she made for another wedding. Cannot recommend her enough!

Courtney created my dream wedding cake. I originally booked with Courtney because her cakes taste amazing and she corresponded promptly, professionally, and she was so kind. But when I saw my cake on my wedding day I was in awe! Courtney far exceeded all expectations. I kept asking my guests if they saw the cake because it was a true work of art. We decided to get a small cutting cake and cupcakes at the last minute for our second covid wedding. Courtney was such a dream to work with! As a person, she was kind, responsive, and professional. As a baker, she’s immensely talented. Our cake was just as I envisioned and tasted impeccable. To anybody getting married in the Seacoast area, hiring her for your cake (or desserts) is a must!

Our cake was exactly what we wanted, and the tasting experience was DIVINE! We were able to get a dairy free frosting and a separate gluten free cake for those with an allergy <3 We can't wait to have another reason to buy another cake!

Courtney did and AMAZING job on our wedding cake, It was so beautiful and had everything we wanted while also being affordable (and tasted great too) I almost didn't want to cut into it it was so lovely

Wow! Courtney is an absolute master at her craft. We designed our wedding cake not after anything we had seen before, but completely from scratch and we invented the cake of our dreams. We expected it to be pared down into something more manageable and we would have been happy, but Courtney was able to create exactly what we had imagined - it was even better in person. Her skills with every cake technique exceed most dedicated cake shops. And it was freaking delicious to boot. There's nowhere better to get your wedding cake in the area. Period.

Courtney was absolutely wonderful to work with for our wedding day! She was very accommodating throughout our wedding reschedule due to the pandemic. The cake and cupcakes she made for us were absolutely delicious! Many of our guests complimented the dessert. She provided us with both gluten free and dairy free options as well. Courtney is phenomenal! My husband and I ended up scraping all of our original wedding plans and threw a celebration together in five weeks. We reached out to Courtney and she was up for creating a cake for us on a crunched schedule. The flavor selection was amazing and telling Courtney the basics of what we liked aesthetic wise and letting her run with it made for a beautiful surprise on our wedding day. Everyone loved the cake and I even had a slice for breakfast the next morning! Courtney is kind, creative, and a master of her craft.

Courtney made us a DAIRY-FREE wedding cake, and helped us cater to all allergens by making us a small gluten-free cake for the people we love who needed it. We so appreciate all she did for us (and the fact that she took a photo of the cake when our photographer didn't!!) <3

Courtney went above and beyond to make sure our wedding cake was exactly what we hoped for and more! Through our initial vendor search, she definitely stood out as someone who was willing to work within our budget and with our cake vision. The cake tasting was perfect and gave us the idea to actually have 3 different flavors of cake, which we never thought possible! We had a carrot cake for our beautiful 2-tiered birch bark cake we used for cutting, and then had 2 sheet cakes (one vanilla and one red velvet) so that guests could have options! We were more than happy with how all of this worked out and felt so at ease knowing that our cake would be delivered safely, look amazing, and taste delicious :)

Courtney was absolutely a joy to work with. She was extremely professional and responsive. We were married in the beginning of September and leading up to that point she reached out a few times willing to help support us should our wedding date change d/t COVID. It was a relief knowing we would be able to change things if need be without issue. We joined her for a tasting which was excellent and helped us to narrow down our flavors. We had a tiered birch tree themed cake it came out amazing! So beautiful and tasty. We also as a cost saving measure served sheet cake that the guests could not tell the difference the flavor was just as good! I highly recommend Courtney for all your baking needs!

Working with Courtney was an absolute pleasure! My husband and I did not want a traditional wedding cake and instead wanted to provide guests with a variety of our favorite desserts: pies, doughnuts and chocolate chip cookies! With COVID, we had to scramble to re-plan our wedding is just under 6 weeks. Courtney was happy to work with us under such a short time frame and provided the tastiest treats! Courtney was collaborative, very responsive and extremely helpful in pulling together the most perfect desserts for our special day!

I wanted to take a moment to let everyone know how amazing working with Courtney and Mezzanine was. They were on top of every detail and extremely helpful; from answering emails, to accommodating schedules (I live out of state so they worked with me in every way), to executing an amazing cake design! Even in the pandemic, they were able to work with us to create the best tasting and looking cake I've ever eaten or seen! I can't recommend Courtney and Mezzanine enough, and I will be using them again next year for our bigger reception!

My experience with Mezzanine Caterering was phenomenal! My daughter’s dream wedding was cancelled due to Covid 19. Two weeks before her wedding day, she and her fiancé, decided on a small, intimate wedding with only immediate family. In a bit of a panic to pull this together, I researched caterers in the area and emailed them. The next day I called Mezzanine Catering and Sally, the owner answered the phone. I had no idea what we wanted or could have, and worried if this could even be done in two weeks. Sally patiently answered all my questions. Her reassurance and her “no worries, we’ve got this” attitude helped to calm my nerves. Every interaction we had with Mezzanine was positive. Victoria, their wedding coordinator, communicated with us easily via email, answered more questions and assisted with planning the menu. She was very helpful and accommodating. At the last minute I ordered linens…no problem. Victoria and Eric arrived promptly and were so personable. She took charge in a very non assuming way, set the tables and added her special artistic touches to made the room glow while Eric prepared the food. Victoria’s enthusiasm was delightful. In fact, I think she was as excited to be there as we were to have her. At one point Victoria told me, “I love what I do!” The food was beautifully plated, absolutely delicious, and the service was impeccable. The scallops were the best I have ever tasted, the tenderloin superb, and chicken received great raves. The following day Brittany and Courtney returned for passed hors d’oeuvres, which were delicious as well. From my first contact to the last, Mezzanine Catering exceeded our expectations. If you are looking for an excellent catering company with affordable pricing for your special event, you will not be disappointed! I have already recommended several people to you and will continue to sing your praises. Thank you all for making our wedding weekend perfect.

I would highly recommend Courtney at Mezzanine Catering for your wedding cake! Courtney created a stunning sea-glass inspired cake for my elopement this past weekend that was as delicious as it was beautiful! All of my guests, including those who do not gravitate towards cake or sweets, could not stop raving about it. Courtney was easy to communicate with, enthusiastic, and is amazing at what she does.

I can not say enough good things about Mezzanine Catering and their wedding coordinator Victoria! We had a wonderful, easy going weekend full of events with Victoria and her amazing crew at Mezzanine. Prior to our wedding she was very easy to communicate with and timely with her responses, even up to the last week. They started our weekend off with our rehearsal dinner, they were prompt on time and did awesome with the crazy weather we experienced that evening from snow and ice, to rain. They catered two brunches for us and made sure myself as the bride got breakfast the morning of the wedding. I didn't have to worry about a thing the whole weekend. Victoria was on top of everything and had it looking beautiful even with the last minute changes of moving our ceremony inside and having to change the whole layout of how cocktail hour was going to happen. They made a tray up for my husband and I to eat after we were done with pictures so we could still enjoy the appetizers we picked. My husband and I are not huge cake people, we asked for apple crisp instead and they nailed it. They even decorated the small cake we had a family member make for us to cut. The bartenders didn't allow a long line to form and were able to make our signature drink and get my husbands favorite beer to serve. I would highly recommend Mezzanine to anyone that wants an easy going, friendly, and listens to what you want and can easily adjust to last minute changes!

Working with Victoria and the team at Mezzanine Catering was an absolute breeze and took a huge weight off of one of the biggest expenses of our wedding. We are a local couple in Dover, NH but got married in Wolfeboro, NH. Victoria went out of her way to set us up for success at a venue they had never worked at before, took the initiative to go on her own site visit, and worked with our new venue in their first year of business. Victoria also led our tasting which was delicious - and was very patient as we made several changes to our menu. They were able to execute a flawless service for a dinner of 120 from an outdoor catering tent at a new venue. They were extremely professional and easy to work with. Our guests were very pleased with the dinner and everyone said the food was much better than your average wedding. Highly recommended from an event planning professional. Thank you Victoria & Team!

I cannot recommend Mezzanine Catering enough for any event. Victoria and her team took on my wedding, and she literally tailored the menu to our wants and needs. That was a huge reason why we picked a wedding venue that would allow us to bring in our own catering. Our specific vision was carried out beautifully, and Victoria was eager to listen to our opinions, offer constructive feedback over what was feasible, or things that might not work so well. Victoria was literally communicating with me via text the week or two leading up to my wedding. Any questions I had for her, she responded pretty much immediately. And she was super organized. It was amazing, and oh so comforting from the bride's standpoint, to know that my wedding was in the best hands. I never had to worry about anything being on time, or the food being good or not. The food was INCREDIBLE! The presentation of the food was excellent. We are overall very happy with Mezzanine Catering and if we ever need catering in the future, we will be calling Victoria personally :)

From our first meeting with Victoria, we knew having Mezzanine cater our wedding would be an incredible experience. It was clear from the initial food tasting that Mezzanine cares as much about their customers as much as they do about their food. Emily has Celiac disease and was quite sure she would not be able to eat at our own wedding, but Victoria was so knowledgeable about food allergies and safety protocols, we ended up doing the entire wedding gluten free! Emily was able to eat everything, and our families absolutely loved the food (they still can’t believe it was all gluten free)! From the incredible appetizers to the delicious main course, our wedding meal was a total hit. They even did our 100% gluten free dessert buffet (which our friends are still raving about). Choosing Mezzanine was an obvious choice from the get-go and now after having them cater our shower and wedding, we will be using them for every event in the future. -Chris & Emily

The easiest and most-thoughtful vendor we worked with for our wedding. If you're considering anyone else, don't! We had met with several bakeries in search of a wedding cake/dessert vendor, and emailed even more than we met. Every bakery was the same...they had two types of desserts that you could choose from and a set list of flavors. When I reached out to Courtney, I instantly felt less stressed about planning. She doesn't give you a list of what she can make, she asks you what you would like at your wedding. We had a lot of Californians, so we asked for some classic New England desserts. She went above and beyond at the tasting, and offered desserts (like mini boston cream pies) in multiple ways for us to decide which one we liked best. Way better than the "tasting boxes" we've had to pick up at other places. All in all, we ended up with a small two-tiered naked red-velvet cake (that was beautiful and exactly what I imagined), whoopie pies, boston cream parfaits, apple pies, blueberry tarts, and apple cider donuts. She does it all, and she does it all really really well! Everyone loved every single thing! Courtney is so great, that even the coordinator at the venue loved working with her, and wants to put her on the preferred vendor list. From A to Z, she was amazing, and our favorite vendor of our entire wedding. If I had to do it over again, I would choose her every time, and spend less on other things to spend more on desserts!

My husband and I LOVED our cake that we got from Courtney at Mezzanine Catering! She made a beautiful 3 tiered cake with peeling birch bark, leaves, our initials in a heart, and a small nest that we put a pair of birds in. It looked amazing, and was perfect for us! It was also delicious! We were so happy with our cake, it was absolutely perfect!

Courtney was warm, professional, and capable. Several of my other vendors needed constant management, but she did an outstanding job anticipating our needs and making the cake totally stress free! When we went to the tastings she developed a whole new cake flavor at our request and gave us a box of baked goods to bring home just for fun! She is super responsive to emails and had already addressed transportation, delivery, and timing based on the (admittedly limited) information we gave her. The cake was gorgeous and delicious, and my husband and I ate wedding cake pretty much nonstop for the few days between the wedding and the honeymoon. I couldn't think of any way we could have had a better experience!
