Wedding Dance Vows

I cant speak highly enough of my experience working with Kalli at Wedding Dance Vows in lead up to our wedding day in April 2024. As an extremely uncoordinated stressed out soon to be bride and non dancer, Kalli transformed one of the tasks I was dreading most about the wedding planning process and made it an activity my fiance and I looked forward to most! She blew us and our guests away with the choreography creating a dance for us that felt both authentic and special (not just a lot of swaying!). She edited the music, worked in partnership with our band and planner, and she ensured we felt supported each step of the way! Our first dance was beautiful and what she achieved could in no way be replicated by a few one-off classes or YouTubes. The consistency in working with Kalli over multiple weeks with practice sessions at home really makes a difference and it’s worth it if you want a special first dance. Over the last 2-3 months in lead up to the wedding, we met with Kalli for a total of 8-9 sessions and not only did she teach us how to execute our first dance in a way that delighted us (and our guests!), she helped us enjoy and cherish the process in a way we wouldn’t have otherwise had we not worked with her! Our weekly sessions were a great opportunity to slow down in the midst of wedding planning madness, connect, and remember what really matters most in the exciting season of engagement. We are so grateful to Kalli for all she did to make our first dance special.

Kalli was the absolute perfect choice to choreograph my first dance with my husband for our wedding. We wanted a "wow" dance and she made it possible! Kalli made every dance class fun and enjoyable and created a special and unique dance for us that was extremely impressive! With the multiple lifts, my husband literally swept me off my feet and our guests loved it! If you're looking for a very impressive first dance that is sure to have your guests remember it forever, Kalli is your answer!

If you are thinking on taking dancing lessons or having a choreography prepared by and with Kalli, think no longer. Meeting her and taking 8 dancing classes with her was one of the highlights of our wedding experience. We are very happy we found her, because really it made our wedding and the wedding preparations much more special, interesting and fun. Not only is she a professional dancing instructor and an outstanding choreographer. Of course that is what you expect of anyone you might hire to help you with your first dance at your wedding. She is much more than that. A couples therapist, a relationship builder, a support person and a friend. She knows dancing and she knows what each of us can do and she can read into what each person in the couple likes more and feels more comfortable with, and her recommendations and choreography reflected this. Of course you might come into this thinking that you want and can do a La La Land type of performance, that will awe all of your guests. But unless you are already a pro, or unless you have tens or hundreds of hours to spare, you should lower your expectations. However, what you learn with Kalli is that even the most simple of the choreographies, when danced with love and amusement will have the same effect on your guests. And she was right! Our guests were so amazed by our performance! They could not believe we were able to do what we did with just 8 lessons of dancing. Tom, my husband did not want to do it, he thought it was a waste of time and money. But after the first lesson with Kalli he turned around and confessed that he really liked it. Mostly because Kalli made him feel very comfortable. Now I do not think he will take dancing lessons from anyone else but her. After the wedding we both agreed that we would do it again, not because it made our celebration better or because of all the compliments we received . The learning was a process that helped us to get closer and we were the ones that really benefited from it. Even if we would have done it without a single guest, we would still do it again. So, as I said, think no longer and talk to Kalli. Everything she said was correct. Trust her 100% and you will have a fabulous wedding dance experience, one that nor you nor your guests will ever forget.

Kalli was a fantastic instructor for our wedding dance. She understood our vision for a lively first dance and tailored each session to meet that goal. Her feedback was invaluable, and her availability outside of lessons was a testament to her dedication. Highly recommend for any couple wanting a memorable dance experience.

Kalli quite literally swept us off our feet! We met Kalli as quite nervous dancers, in the run up to our much postponed wedding without a plan. She eliminated our worries and worked with us hand in hand, custom designing a dance that felt like the perfect representation of us. While we were of course looking forward to our big day, we enjoyed every class we had with Kalli throughout our journey together. If something didn't feel exactly right, we'd nix it and make anew. Kalli is wonderful to work with, punctual, kind, flexible, creative and talented. She somehow (through hard work and magic) helped us transform into dancers, floating across the floor under our big tent in the Catskills this past summer. Our dance together felt like the truest representation of us - fun, silly, quirky and somehow elegant!

Kalli is incredible. My husband and I have no dancing background and were nervous about our wedding first dance. She put us at ease. She was very easy to work with, flexible, patient, and a great teacher and coach. She helped us become comfortable dancing, and even enjoy it! She is also creative and will make your wedding day special. I highly recommend working with Kalli and Wedding Dance Vows!

Kalli is the one of world’s most patient, sweetest, and genuine people and instructors. My husband and I chose Kalli to help us with our first dance for our wedding. We had about 8 dance lessons with her. Upon our first dance lesson, Paul and I were the most uncoordinated, unconfident dancers, but Kalli turned it all around for us by the very end. By lesson 4, we felt like best friends. We had such an amazing experience with Kalli - she really took the time to get to know us and our story, which she incorporated into our first dance. We were amazed at how personalized the dance choreography was and how creative Kalli was in adapting it to our abilities and preferences. She always gave us her undivided attention and would individually address our weaknesses. In the process of helping us improve, she never made us feel bad. Her advice was so constructive and personalized. If something wasn't working, she would improvise and never force a dance move. It’s safe to say, our wedding guests were BLOWN away by our dance. We would recommend kalli a hundred times over!!!

An instructor’s job is to teach you the best they can in the allotted time frame you have given them. We had four or five sessions before our wedding and kali exceeded our expectations. She is so kind, patient and helpful. We wouldn't have felt nearly as comfortable during our first dance if it weren't for all her coaching and encouragement.

Wow! Working with Kalli was WONDERFUL! We are absolute beginner dancers (actually, we don’t dance at all!) who just wanted something simple for our wedding as we didn’t want to look too stiff. She was wonderful at listening to what we were looking for and gave us options, as well as great guidance on what she recommended. We’re incredibly glad we went with Kalli for our first dance at our wedding and have no regrets nor reservations about her! Thumbs up!

Where do we even begin? Working with Kalli was easy and an absolute blast - she was communicative, organized and professional and most importantly, listened to what we wanted to bring our vision to life. Working with Kalli was one of our absolute favorite parts of wedding prep! She’s friendly, engaging, and so much fun to work with. My husband had 0 dance experience, and in just a few lessons, Kalli created a full dance for us (including lifts!) that our guests loved. Highly recommend!!

My now-husband and I definitely are not musically inclined and after watching several awkward first dances between family and friends, we decided to look into getting a few dance lessons before our wedding. I can say with 100% certainty that hiring Kalli was one of the best decisions we made in planning. She worked within our budget as well as our comfort level and current dancing ability to come up with a nice, simple, and fun first dance. We got so, so many compliments and it was a really fun activity to do together as a couple in the weeks leading up to the dance. Kalli made the whole experience fun and was great to have as a teacher. Highly recommend!

My wife and I were looking for a few dance lessons for our first dance at our wedding. Kalli went above and beyond our ask! We took 3 1-hour lessons with her which was perfect for the type of semi-basic routine we were looking for. Kalli edited the song we used to fit the routine perfectly, added new moves throughout the lessons based on how well we were progressing, and she was always around throughout the week if we ever wanted to send her videos of us practicing. She is extremely professional and very instructional! She is very flexible with time and location - all we had to do was bring our shoes and our moves! Overall, the dance on our big day was spectacular and we’d highly recommend Kalli!

Kalli is AMAZING! We found her a month before our wedding and, in that time, she helped us devise an exciting new plan for our first dance, she edited together a three-song medley, choreographed it, and got us dancing it flawlessly in time for our wedding. On top of that, we had a blast working with her and she always managed to calm our nerves as the wedding got closer. She was flexible, exceedingly generous with her time, and is an incredibly gifted dancer and teacher. Our wedding guests truly could not stop raving about our dance, and Kalli is the reason why.

Kalli was our wedding dance instructor and she did a great job. While I have some dance background, my husband and I were both new to ballroom dancing. Kalli helped us pick a song and was willing to work with our budget, meeting with us about once a week in our apartment and once over Zoom to help us avoid having to pay to rent a dance studio. She helped us learn the steps and technique and if we found a step too hard she changed the routine to accommodate. I wish I had taken her advice about practicing the dance in my wedding dress (a typical ball gown with quite the long train) as that was my biggest challenge on the day of. However she had given me advice to hold up the side of my dress while dancing if I had to, so that is what I did. I recommend working with Kalli if you want to do more than just slow dance and really wow your guests with the perfect, romantic first dance. I love watching the videos guests took of our first dance! My husband even enjoyed it so much he wants to go out dancing with me sometime!

Kalli prepared all of the guests at my daughter's wedding to perform a dance flash mob. I was very happy to see how happy the couple was as they watched all of their friends dance on their favorite song. They ended up joining and cheering. This happened outdoors, and a lot of people coming by stayed to watch the exciting dance! I would trust Kalli with any important dance event. She is very professional and trustworthy and she will make sure everything is ready on time and looks perfect.

Kalli was absolutely amazing !! She helped my wife and me with our first dance choreography. She made sure that everything was perfectly planned and worked with us on structuring a dance of our taste. Thanx a lot for your friendly pure mood.

Kalli is an amazing instructor! Not only did she choreograph an original, accessible, and beautiful routine for my wife and I, but she made the whole experience stress-free and so much fun! Our guests told us they were blown away. I can’t recommend her enough!

My wife and I were absolutely delighted with Kalli’s dance instruction. We had always dreamed of doing knockout first dance for our wedding, and Kalli made it come true! Kalli is one of the most experienced and versatile dancers I have met. She choreographed and taught the first dance at a wedding where I was the maid of honor. The result was amazing and I was able to observe some of the couple’s lessons and they were having a blast! I would totally recommend her to any couple searching for their dream wedding dance!

Coming out of the City Hall after our ceremony we saw all of our guests and family dancing on our favorite song "La Bomba". Kalli did an amazing job teaching everyone the moves and it brought my wife and me so much joy seeing everyone dancing and having fun on our special day. Best gift from our wedding party to us!!! <3

Kalli helped us clumsies overcome our shyness and conquer the dance floor on our wedding. She has deep knowledge of so many different dance styles and is an experienced teacher who knows how to help you relax and enjoy your moves😉

Kalli is amazing. She is so patient and her communication skills are phenomenal. I’ve been a dancer my whole life and my husband has two left feet. Kalli breaks things down better than any dance teacher I’ve ever had and even made my husband feel comfortable out on the dance floor- which is quite a feat! I was so nervous about our first dance because I wanted something more complicated than just swaying back and forth and my husband is absolutely not a dancer. Kalli made it happen! Our first dance turned out better than I ever could have hoped, and now my husband actually feels confident enough to dance with me anywhere. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. My wedding was a dream come true. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I would be able to dance in front a crowd people, much less for such a special, important & emotional moment in my life. The lessons were professional, detailed, & helped us create a moment that we would never forget.

Kalli choreographed a dance on our favourite song and taught it to all of our guests creating an unforgettable flashmob right outside the city hall. While we were walking out everyone started dancing for us and we had the time of our lives! We can't thank you enough for giving colour to our special day!
