I was really struggling with how to have a religious ceremony, without going “overboard” and making my husband and his family uncomfortable (for lack of a better word). We found David through a quick search on the Knot. It was clear from the first 3 minutes of the call that he was the person we wanted to officiate our wedding. Both of us were immediately comfortable with his demeanor and the way he made us feel at ease about how the ceremony would go. He made it easy to find middle ground to have the ceremony we both wanted. We did go with the premarital counseling as well, and I would definitely recommend that to anybody and everybody, just to really take the time to learn about each other if nothing else. David talked through a lot of things we knew about each other but had never really learned to handle and I can honestly say that has eased a lot of tensions between us. Reminding us to take breaks from wedding talk and continue to prioritize our relationship was one of his key points, and that definitely helped alleviate a ton of stress and made us check in with how we were both feeling along the way. David was personable, easy to talk to, and consistently adjusted his schedule so that we could have our appointments during times that worked with ours (we live in OR, so we’re 3 hours behind his time zone and are only both available in the evenings).
