Your First Dance by Bud Walters has specialized in personalizing your wedding dance for 40 years and teaching dance for 66 years. Planning a wedding is often time-consuming and stressful ... take time for yourself and have fun learning your spotlight dance with your fiancé. No contracts, no high pressure sales. Success in just three lessons.
This is what makes me a little different from the rest of the studios. All lessons are private. No contract to sign or high pressure sales. You can learn a complete dance with turns and dips for $85 per couple for one full hour of private dance lessons. That is only $255.00 for a complete dance. Pay as you take each lesson. You can assure success , in most cases, in just THREE lessons. Most appointments are on Tues, Wed. or Thurs. 11am to 9pm I will teach you as fast as you are capable of learning. Your lesson should be fun not fear of high pressure sales. With over 66 years of experience I can teach you whatever you need . I hope this answers a lot of your questions. Thanks for your interest. He has taught for several large studios and holds a championship title. In addition to dance he is a professional actor and has taught modeling This certainly helps in giving good advice to all his students.

ars of experience and engaging teaching style, we were able to learn a lot in that short time. His humor and warmth made each session fly by and it ended up being a fun and memorable activity to do together during the busy lead-up to our wedding.
We felt confident going into our big day with what we had learned (plus some home practice), and Bud taught us dance steps we’ll continue to use in the future. One of the highlights was that Bud even told us the perfect moment for a photo, and sure enough, we got the shot he told us to pose for. It turned out beautifully and is one of our favorite pictures from the wedding!
We’re already looking forward to going back for swing lessons!

Bud also takes care to make sure each dance lesson is specific to you, the dancers. There's no blindly learning 1 or 2 moves here! Bud took the time to modify a turn to fit us better when one of them was not working, and the modified move was one of our favorites and got lots of compliments from our guests! Bud even taught us a bit of swing at the end of our third lesson which was also very fun and made us even more interested in continuing dancing together.
We left feeling very confident and excited for our wedding dance. Working on our moves with Bud was also a great distraction from the hecticness of wedding planning and something we looked forward to each week. Overall, we absolutely recommend Bud to anyone looking to learn dance for any occasion!

e is not to teach a thoroughly choreographed dance; rather, he gives you the tools to be able to move freely, together, in the moment. he does get busy. Neither one of us had any experience with proper dance steps, but he found a way to make us both feel comfortable and gain confidence during the process. When we struggled while practicing at home, he was happy to review our video and guide us to improvement. We were able to truly enjoy our first dance because of Bud. Stop reading reviews and call him now, you won't regret it. It was the best time and money invested into our wedding.

Bud exceeded every expectation. There's no intricate choreography here, which is good because I'm miserable a choreographed dancing, instead, Bud gives you the tools to move around...
the floor and have fun and look good while doing it. The instruction felt tailored to us and our specific progress which was great. By the third lesson we were really just focused on the things we wanted to fine tune.

ul BUT.... Trying to sueeze in dance lessons as well? Thant makes it even worse. I always recommend planning ahead to give yourself time to practice .Call at least 3-4 months ahead and take lessons 4 weeks before your wedding.

Bud was an outstanding dance instructor for us. We reached out to him just over a month before our wedding and out of the kindness of his heart he still fit in three lessons for us...
before the big day. He adjusted to some of our hang ups that we had while trying to understand formal dancing and on the day we absolutely nailed it. Our guests were all so impressed with what we learned and we were confident and happy in the moment. We will never forget that dance! Thanks Bud!!

cal of only needing 3 lessons, but if you practice at home like he recommends, you'll pick it up much faster than you might think! Neither of us were experienced partner dancers, but we looked polished and felt confident for our first dance. I also did dance lessons with my dad for the father daughter dance and that was a really nice experience for both us of leading up to the wedding. Make sure not to book too close to your wedding date; call 3-5 months in advance depending on if your wedding is during peak season. My husband and I actually used the skills we learned with Bud to do some dancing on our honeymoon cruise! These are definitely skills you can use beyond your wedding day!

I have suggested to many of our friend couples to take a lesson with him! He picks up on the relationship dynamic immediately and helps you feed into it in a healthy way! He is also hysterical and his honesty is something I wish all vendors had!
Even though our wedding is past we have every intention to go back and take some more lessons of different dance styles with Bud!

Bud made sure we felt ready, offered comedic relief when we needed it, and kept the lessons fun and very engaging.
