Your First Dance LA is a dance studio located in Los Angeles, CA. This studio specializes in ballroom dance instruction for couples preparing for their first dance as newlyweds. Owner and instructor Lindsay Benay has the experience and expertise to teach students of all levels as they make wedding memories on the dance floor.
Lindsay began her career in dance in 2009 and later picked up ballroom style in 2011. After a rigorous six months of training, she became an instructor and studio manager. She has performed across the globe on stage and in competitions both solo and with a partner. Lindsay’s diverse background and passion for sharing her love of dance inspired her to choreograph bespoke routines for wedding couples.
Lindsay has carefully curated a team of professional instructors for Your First Dance LA. They feature a variety of packages based on your skill level and how elaborate you would like your first dance to be. Choose from basic lessons for an elegant and effortless routine or up to 20 if you want to show off your moves. Your instructor will incorporate your music selection into your choreography, and they can offer advice if you are unsure of your song. You can also avail of a professional video of your final routine with this company.

Thank you for considering Your First Dance LA to be a special part of your big day! As a small business it is of upmost importance that all parties involved are treated with respect and consideration regardless of age, race, gender, etc. We have the right to deny service to anyone for any reason.
Our cancellation policy is as follows: Cancellations and rescheduling of lessons must be done 24 hours prior to the day of the scheduled lesson. If cancellations are not made within this time- frame the lesson will still be charged at the per session rate.
All packages purchased are final sale. No refunds will be granted for any reason.
All packages expire 6 months after date of purchase.

Lindsay helped us put together our wedding first dance choreography! Neither of us had ever danced before, but she was patient and kind. She broke it down into small steps that we were able to understand. Our first dance was simply amazing and everyone LOVED it!
Our wedding dance was perfect!!! I cannot thank Lindsay enough for helping us with our first dance. We wanted something that was simple, elegant and yet still felt organic, and she listened and gave us so many options for ideas. The final product was exactly what we envisioned. We had so much fun learning to dance together. Not to mention that we got the opportunity to practice at two different studio locations, and I truly didn’t know that this city had such beautiful venues for dancing. I’m not sure if we will continue to dance or not, but we have talked about it and if we do decide to continue we will be calling Lindsay!!!
Lindsay was awesome. She was very kind, reliable, patient, and easy to work with. She took two beginners with two left feet and made us so comfortable in our own skin that we felt flawless on the dance floor. And we were able to have fun with it!

LOVED dancing with Lindsay! She showed me how to do salsa and bachata and then took me out into the wild for a night of dancing with a lot of people in a fancy hotel lobby. She’s fun and funny! She also knows everything that’s going on in the world of dance and can tell you about upcoming events!!
I have been taking private lessons from Lindsay for some time now. I started with her as a total beginner with 2 left feet. The thought of asking a girl to dance was terrifying. I am now a comfortable intermediate level dancer who is not afraid to go out social dancing. I am incredibly grateful to learn from Lindsay. She is very patient, kind, and down to earth. She knows how to break things down step by step and I feel that she has the ability to adjust to different personalities with different learning styles. Dancing has really been a gift to my confidence and mental health.

I have been learning from Lindsay off and on since 2016. Lindsay is not only extremely professional, reliable, and talented, but she is also just a lovely person to be around. Her calm and positive demeanor will lift your spirits. One of my favorite things about Lindsay is that she is always working to improve herself and has such an inspiring growth mindset. Dancing with Lindsay has really helped me build confidence and feel comfortable to go out and dance socially. You can tell that she really loves what she does and that she truly cares about her students.
I had been dancing for less than a year when I started working with Lindsay. I had just gotten out of the hospital two weeks prior to this video and was in physical therapy and she still managed to get me to this point! She is so patient and kind and supportive ALWAYS, and I am devastated that I had to move back to Indiana and stop dancing with her!
My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of having Lindsay teach and choreograph our perfect first dance for our wedding. We had 8 lessons with her, and she was incredibly professional, kind, fun, and collaborative. We are actually sad that our lessons have concluded now that our wedding is over, because we had so much fun!
We are not dancers at all, and it was both my husband and I's first time ever dancing with a partner. Despite that, we had some silly ideas to help personalize our moves. Lindsay was so collaborative, and was able to choreograph a beautiful dance for us that had our guests shouting and cheering the entire time! We felt so confident (we even had two lifts and two dips!) and truly had a blast performing it. We cannot recommend Lindsay enough!

We purchased the 10 pack and had so much fun learning how to dance for our wedding that we decided to continue our dance journey and learn new styles. Lindsay went the extra (1300) mile(s) to give my husband and me the perfect first dance experience. From song choice to challenge level, from style to finesse, she ensured every detail resulted in a final product that we could be proud of. I may not remember the steps anymore (that’s on me!), but I’ll always remember how it felt to have such a perfect first dance with my husband.
We wanted our first dance to feel special and we knew we needed help since neither of us dance very well. Lindsay was so patient and easy to work with, she choreographed a dance that we could do and it was super fun! We felt confident out there in front of all of our family and friends and they loved it:)
