A Colorado native, Alyssa resides in the Denver area with her husband and their cat. When she’s not writing, Alyssa enjoys adventuring outdoors (hiking, paddleboarding, hanging out at the nearest park), yoga, reading her latest pick from Book of the Month and listening to podcasts (especially true crime).
Alyssa and her husband eloped in October 2020 on their 10th dating anniversary. They planned their day exactly as they wanted, and Alyssa hopes that she can help many couples plan the wedding day of their dreams through her articles on The Knot.
Experience
Alyssa’s always had a deep passion for writing. She began pursuing writing opportunities and contributor positions in 2019. She published pieces on Thrive Global, GenTwenty and Life Goals Mag, where she discovered her passion for productivity, personal growth and wellness. Over time, Alyssa began building a side hustle in freelance writing alongside her 9-5. She’s been a contributing writer for Insider, The Everygirl, Babes Who Hustle, Rewire PBS, GrasshoppHer and more. She’s also been able to subcontract for well-known freelance writers including Kat Boogaard and Kaleigh Moore, further developing her writing skills. She serves as a part-time editorial assistant and the first-ever employee of Life Goals Mag.
Education
Alyssa holds two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. During her time as a mountain lion, she dual majored in Criminal Justice and Psychology. While in college, Alyssa joined a number of clubs and was the recipient of the BACJ 2016 Outstanding Student Award during her final semester. She uses her education in psychology to connect with readers on a deeper level.
