Emma Baty is a passionate editor who loves covering film and television. She also has previous experience covering fashion and lifestyle topics. Emma is currently an Associate Entertainment Editor for Cosmopolitan. Her favorite part of the job is writing celebrity profiles. She and Louis Tomlinson have bonded over their mutual quarter-life crises, and she and Handmaid’s Tale’s Madeline Brewer once mutually fangirled over Jennifer Lopez. She is an aspiring wine connoisseur and a studier of art.
Experience
While attending Syracuse University, Emma interned with ELLE Magazine, Hamptons Magazine, and The Knot. Following graduation she was chosen as an Editorial Fellow with Redbook Magazine, covering parenting and pop culture. In 2017, she joined the Cosmopolitan team with Hearst Magazines as an Editorial Assistant. She was promoted to News Writer before landing her current role as Associate Entertainment Editor. She helps form the brand’s movie and television coverage, conducts interviews with celebrities, and covers live events like awards shows.
Education
Emma graduated from Syracuse University, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Magazine Journalism and Art History from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
