We were fortunate to also have Olive as our day-of event manager due to the unique logistics of the backyard setup. Olive knows her stuff and provided great practical advice on best practices for how to make the event go smoothly. Olive and her team handled a huge amount of the logistics including vendor coordination and rentals. Olive came to the property several times, including when vendors were setting up on site. My husband and I pay incredible attention to detail and yet Casual Gourmet, and Olive in particular, went far above and beyond our expectations. There were one or two times in the planning process where Casual Gourmet was a bit rigid but this is primarily because they have been doing this for years and they tend to know what will work best. That being said, they did graciously accommodate several special requests (e.g. boxing up extra cake for guests to take home, special arrangements for food allergies, etc.) On the day of the event, the servers, bartenders, and staff were incredibly hard working and friendly. There was never a line at the bar and the food was truly phenomenal - many guests commented the best they had ever had at a wedding. In addition, there were bountiful appetizers and the presentation was flawless. Finally, Casual Gourmet did a special surprise groom's cake that was incredible - and received dozens of compliments from guests for its design (and the three cake flavors, fillings, and frostings were delicious.) They are worth every penny and we could not recommend them more highly. They are the best in the business.

the choosing of linens and accessories, Olive and Kelly inspired confidence and excitement. Olive never tried to "up-sell" us, but instead had excellent practical advice that was incredibly helpful and just spot on. We had our reception in a hall where we had to bring everything in, and it all worked like a dream. I designed my own centerpieces and Olive's team executed them so beautifully that the room was transformed. I sent Kelly photos of the kind of cake we wanted, and she worked with the CG cake designer to make something truly exquisite that had our guests oohing and ahhing. The food was outrageous - people talked about it the whole weekend. Our serious gourmet friends from New York were raving about every bite. My husband keeps saying one of his favorite moments of the thole day was exiting the church to be greeted by Olive with champagne, and being whisked off to the reception hall, where we could see the beautiful room and have a few (perfect) hors d'oeuvres before being overrun by the crowd. Olive andKelly are consummate professionals, and there isn't one thing, not one tiny thing, that we would have changed. The servers and bartenders were fantastic - so friendly and professional and nice. The cocktail hour, dinner, and dessert were timed beautifully. It was all just perfect. I cannot recommend Casual Gourmet highly enough. If you are having a wedding on or near the Cape, call them!

My wedding day went off without a hitch (even in a tropical storm!) with her and her team: the bar service was insanely fast with never any lines, our buffet was the fastest anyone had ever seen they said, their menu to select from was out of this world (and the tasting with Olive was SO fun!), and the breakdown and clean-up of the tent after was phenomenal. Honestly I don't think my husband and I could be happier that we went with Casual Gourmet - cannot recommend them enough!!

needed a dairy free cake she immediately extolled the virtues of their chocolate WWII cake and how many ch she loved it. My husband is a chocoholic so we were planning on chocolate anyway--fate! For our tasting Marcie made a special batch of soy free frosting to see if it would work for the cake (my family has a variety of food limitations). The soy frosting wasn't strong enough for a tiered cake so she offered to make a few cupcakes for those who needed the special frosting. Our second favorite part was this amazing raspberry preserve frosting she made--the same fresh raspberry taste but softened with the frosting. We chose it for the inner layer and, since it had a beautiful dusty rose color, some of the flowers. I'm thrilled to have a bunch leftover so we can pull it out of the freezer throughout the year and remember our special day.

Everyone we spoke to at the wedding said it was the best that they had ever attended and without Olive and her amazing staff at Casual Gourmet I am certain it would have not been as flawless and from my perspective not as easy. If you are a parent and what that amazing day for your child you will not have time to cover every detail, nor know which level of importance any detail requires. I can not speak anything but the highest praises about them. On a scale of 1-10, they are 15. After having evaluated food from other caterers we saw no option even close to the variety, quality, the presentation and the taste. We were well rewarded by this decision. The bartenders, professional, quality cocktails and excellent oversight towards those that perhaps had a tendency to empty their glasses too quickly and return for more. Thank you. Even though we also had some traditional European wedding cakes, the one prepared by Casual Gourmet was wonderful. I know this sounds like Im a fan, which I am. However, if you are considering any event, wedding, etc. it should be a MUST that you at least evaluate Casual Gourmet and their services, you would be doing a diservice to yourself, your loved ones or your clientele. A final item, their cost was completely in line and I very much feel that if you take into consideration the quality and professionalism, you are getting a bargain. I have one daughter left and sometime in the near future I will be back at Casual Gourmet, having Olive and her staff helping me to plan and execute another phenomenal wedding. Thank you Olive. hey were all in tears, of happiness. The design of both cakes were what I had envisioned, or really, just awesome. This was a destination wedding so we worked via phone and email and the communication was wonderful. We had leftover and everyone was fighting over it the next day, it was so delicious! any restaurant tasting meal in January, to the truly amazing hors d'oevres that every guest praised and the delicious dinners, delivered quickly, and warm and that were consumed with gusto. The serving staff was attractive, well trained and so pleasant to deal with. Olive herself was more than helpful. A true Queen of organization and fine dining. The cleanup at the end left our yard immaculate. There was literally nothing to complain about. We were totally delighted with the entire experience and can recommend Casual Gourmet highly.

e wedding coordinator that worked with us throughout planning was sick the day before the wedding, so another filled in, which was somewhat stressful trying to get up to speed the day before the wedding, and working with a very different style of coordinator. I'm sure this is a very rare occurrence, and would highly recommend Casual Gourmet's food and cakes!!

a great time at the cake tasting and chose white vanilla cake with raspberry filling and vanilla frosting, then chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and vanilla frosting. The fillings are totally worth it! We had leftover cake and served it at the day-after brunch and it was a total hit two days in a row! They have a wide variety of cake designs- we picked the sandy/shell design that had white chocolate sea shells as well as some real sea shells too. Definitely recommend!

The food is incredible, and both my husband and I come from large Italian families who are very picky about food, and we are still hearing from our friends and family about how it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. On top of that, I have celiac disease and a dairy allergy and Olive and her staff made it so easy for our wedding food to be allergy friendly, and they even made me a vegan/gluten free wedding cake tier which was AMAZING. But honestly, when you hire Olive and her Casual Gourmet staff you are getting so much more than incredible food, you are getting the support and organization from one of the most respected caterers on Cape Cod, I would even go as for to say all of New England. Olive has incredible relationships with all of the vendors we worked with (all of them LOVE working with her), and was able to make sure that our wedding day ran so smoothly. We got married at a private estate, so there were many moving pieces, with many vendors. For over a year Olive and her staff worked with us to make sure everything was being arranged and planned well. She was honest with her opinions when I maybe had something in mind that just wasn't realistic, and I think that really helped me stay on track, and plan a wonderful wedding. Olive was also there with her staff days before our wedding making sure our vendors were staying on track, and things were running according to plan. I knew that because we had Casual Gourmet working with us that there really was nothing we had to worry about on our wedding day. I could go on and on, but honestly there is no one better than Olive and Casual Gourmet, I can't recommend this company highly enough.

We were able to be carefree and completely enjoy ourselves at our wedding because Kelly had everything running so smoothly behind the scenes. Additionally, the staff was wonderful. Passed apps were never far from reach, meals were cleared quickly, and the bartenders and waitstaff were really friendly. It's no surprise that Casual Gourmet comes so highly recommended - they are exceptional!

I had zero worries about officially handing over the reins to my big day, and Olive helped it go off without a hitch. I could not have done it without them and I couldn't recommend them more.

o one ever would have been able to guess that what they ate was gluten free. It was moist and flavorful and not at all like some of the heavy/dry gluten free cakes out there. Plus I LOVED that lemon cake was available as a gluten free option! Most bakeries only had vanilla or chocolate. We did lemon cake with lemon curd filling!! Yum!! It even tasted good after a year in the freezer when we had it again for our anniversary. As for decorations they had a ton of pretty options, but we just wanted a simple, elegant white cake with real flowers (from our florist) on the top. They did a beautiful job with this as well. I would highly recommend Casual Gourmet to anyone looking for a wedding cake on Cape Cod... gluten free or otherwise... I only wish I could click my heels and transport myself from NJ to the cape for another slice right now!

ur venue came with nothing but running water, so it was extremely helpful having Casual Gourmet to make recommendations for things like tent, tables, ceremony benches, bathroom trailers and more! We also used their advice on things like DJ and florist since they are so experienced and have done so many beautiful weddings on the Cape. Over email, phone calls and multiple face-to-face meetings, Olive helped us structure the schedule for our day, pick an amazing menu and even came to the rehearsal. Wedding planning can be stressful since most of us have no experience planning this type of event -- but Olive's extensive experience put us at ease with so much of the decision making. The wedding day went flawlessly and all our guests were raving about the hors d'oeuvres and entrees. Not sure what else to say, Casual Gourmet is amazing and I would recommend to anyone having a Cape wedding!

Casual Gourmet helped to make our wedding beautiful, worry free and tasty from beginning to end. Mary Lyons, our coordinator, was fantastic! Always helping to guide us through the process, but also letting us decide on the things we liked and preferred for our day. That made me the happiest! All of the staff are extremely professional, talented, and courteous. Bon Appetite!

us, delicious, and fun. The Casual Gourmet was AMAZING. We had our wedding at a cranberry bog / barn and the decor that The Casual Gourmet came with was absolutely fantastic! They worked with us through meetings planning our menu, visiting our venue, and walking us through a an amazing rehearsal! We wanted to have food stations instead of a buffet line or a plated dinner, because I wanted my guests to be able to customize their food. The Casual Gourmet totally delivered! We had a self-serve garden station with fresh salads, Mediterranean tastings (hummus, tabouleh, pita), and a smorgasbord of grilled vegetables that I fell in love with. We also had a "make your own chowder" station -- which got complements (and tons of visits) all night! Guests loved the ability to customize their vegetarian cream based chowder with scallops, shrimp, clams, chourico, different types of potato, corn, onions, and more! Our main station was a taco station due to my LOVE for fish tacos. The Casual Gourmet set up the station so that people could make their own tacos with grilled white fish, turkey, or no meat at all. There were so many toppings (black bean salad, corn salad, cheese, grilled peppers and onions, pico de gallo, cilantro creme) that I can't remember all of them off the top of my head. It was fantastic! For cocktail hour, The Casual Gourmet provided us with so many assorted cheeses that we have a ton leftover and are excited to eat for the days to come, as well as vegetables and fruit. We also used their coffee and tea service for dessert. We had a friend make our wedding cake, but if I didn't have her make our cake, I would have certainly gone with The Casual Gourmet. I can't say enough for how much extra effort they put in!

The staff on the big day and our wedding day coordinator Kelly were terrific. Kelly kept everything running on time. She frequently checked in with me during the day to be sure that all was going according to plan and to our wishes. The serving staff was attentive and very professional. All of our guests commented on the incredible meal and the staff. The wedding cake was also supplied by CG and was awesome!!--not only beautiful but also delicious. Casual Gourmet also had suggestions for other reliable vendors, eg the tent company, transportation, etc. We found that the pricing was very reasonable and fair, especially in view of the very high quality of the service provided. I have no hesitation in recommending Casual Gourmet for any event and certainly for one as important as your child's wedding!! They are terrific!

less - she knows her stuff. The tasting was excellent! Definitely do the tasting if you book with them. I had an 80 guest wedding so not very big and at the advice of Kelly and Olive I did not hire a wedding coordinator because Kelly essentially acted as one! She led the rehearsal and was there from start to finish on the day of the wedding to orchestrate that everything went well. Multiple people commented on how great the food was - we did a buffet style and one option we chose was the Beef Tenderloin and it was some of the best I (and others) had ever had! The best part was, since it was buffet, they wrapped up the leftovers and we enjoyed all the food for the next couple of days! My one small complaint would be the wait staff that day. They weren't very friendly, appeared mopey the whole evening, and for some reason I barely saw them during the cocktail hour but I may have just been in bad spots. Most did not engage when walking around but rather held out trays and said nothing. I usually like someone to present what the food option is that they're holding but maybe that's just me. A couple people commented on them as well so it doesn't sound like I was the only one who noticed. There was one older woman server with glasses (unfortunately I do not know her name) who was excellent so I want to give her credit! Overall, I give Casual Gourmet 5 stars and Kelly in particular 10 stars. Work with Kelly - she'll take good care of you! Kristy & William

incredible. The shrimp were huge! The bar and bartenders were great! The dinners were so good. I had the steak and I absolutely loved it. I ate my whole dish of food. Not many mothers of the bride actually sit long enough to eat. The desert bar was also delicious. My mom said the ice cream was the best she's ever had!! The cake was scrumptious! The servers were wonderful and worked very hard. Casual Gourmet planned and put the day together for us better than I could have ever imagined. You really know your stuff! We appreciated every detail. I can't say enough great things about the Casual Gourmet. Highly recommended them.

My husband and I wanted two types of cake and Olive and her team had an easy compromise in differing the layer flavors with the same outside icing (which is soooo good!). We also worked with Olive to coordinate our linens, barware, flatware, plates, etc. which looked amazing and perfect. Olive and her team know what is involved in throwing a great event. We had lots of fun at the tasting and always felt well taken care of. Olive and Kelly know their stuff, know the Cape, and know how to deliver on amazing food. We are looking forward to using them again in the future or just stopping in for some yummy cake!

When you hire them, you are hiring a wedding coordinator as well. We had the pleasure of working with Mary from the beginning. She was there on our wedding day, making sure things went smoothly and everything happened as it was planned. She did everything from organizing the servers to facilitating decorations to coordinating guest arrival to bringing a nervous bride oyster crackers and water. :) She was wonderful. I highly recommend Casual Gourmet for your wedding (or any event for that matter)!

alcohol, and CG provided the bartenders. It worked really well. Stephanie more than just provided the food, she also acted as a planner and was instrumental in our wedding going seamlessly. She provided input and advice from her experience in the industry and helped us plan a great event. We were in constant contact up to the wedding and we all felt very safe in her hands. The CG is the one and only choice for catering, you will not be disappointed. Stephanie even brought me food and champagne after the ceremony while we were doing group photos. She would bring me food (gluten free options because I am gluten-intolerant), offer me a champagne, and then take the champagne back when photos were being taken, and hand it back to me in between photo groups. Her service was worth every cent and we couldn't be more pleased with the CG!!!

r. Every time you call the bakery they seem to know you and your plans, all the employees seem to communicate very well with one another. I know they are handling so many events and it is easy to feel like just one more of those brides, but the team at Casual Gourmet has made me/ us feel special and heard every time. I remember reading through their reviews online while deciding who to go with and now I know that they are all true. It will be the best decision you have made to get them take care of your wedding or event! In regards to all the food; the food is amazing! It was amazing at the tasting and and amazing when they cooked it in my backyard. Our guests were so excited about the food, explaining they have never had such good food at a wedding. I thought as long as the food is fine it will be fine, but the food from the Casual Gourmet was amazing! (lets see how many times I get to use this word in my review :) ) No seriously, the food was so good, imagine the best restaurant food you have had and now add the difficulty of let them serve that to a huge group of guests and cooked in a backyard. I am very impressed! Yes, it will cost you plenty of money, but if you can I would recommend taking advantage of it! Thank you so much Olive, Mary and the team!!!

Beyond this, she was great with helping out with the timeline and ensuring that we were set up for the day to run smoothly. Her abundant experience in the industry was extremely helpful throughout the process. It was a huge help that she had worked with our venue before, too, as not many other vendors could say the same. I can't say enough positive things about Olive's staff, too. Stephanie was our day-of manager and we could not have asked for a better one. She went above and beyond to make sure we, along with all of our family members and guests, were satisfied. She even made sure we got to try the oysters from the raw bar since we weren't able to attend the cocktail hour. My mom is still talking about how Stephanie would check in with her throughout the night to make sure she was happy. Even on the day after the wedding, when we had a small mishap, Stephanie was responsive to our concerns and needs and made sure that everything was taken care of and fixed. She was not satisfied until we were, even if it meant working outside her hours. We are so happy that we went with Casual Gourmet. They are well worth the money spent!

I went with the lemon cake with raspberry jam filling for my late summer wedding and it was the perfect finish to our clam bake reception.
