Rebecca was everything we needed in a photographer. From the very beginning she put in extra time to help us figure out what style of photos we wanted. As the day got closer she worked tirelessly with our day of schedule to make sure each and every moment counted. She was able to capture all the big moments you don't want to miss, but she also made sure to respond to special moments that couldn't be planned for. When my spouse and I were looking for a photographer, we wanted someone that will go above and beyond the standards! Rebecca was just that! Great communicator, on time, and made sure every picture was the best. At our wedding I remember she was doing a ground up shot and she literally laid down on the dirty ground to take the shot with the background in it. That was dedication to our photos and our memories! Thru out the special day she was always making sure we were okay and if we needed to change anything up... With our wedding it was multi locations, summer heat, and 10 people in the wedding party. At the end of the day, we know we had some awesome photo shots and felt great about the catchlight experience!

We are so lucky to have found Rebecca! During our wedding preparation we reached out to a photographer and upon meeting them realized that they seemed rather cool and aloof, as though it was merely a business transaction. After the dismay of that meeting, I asked a friend (who was also planning her wedding) for advice and she told me about Catch Light Photography. I emailed Rebecca and found that she was quick to respond and happy to meet us at a Panera in between our homes. When meeting Rebecca for the first time, I can vividly recall how warm and friendly she is. She spent the better part of an hour with us discussing her years of experience and what she had learned - as well as helping us develop a photography plan for our big day and really nail down what was important to us. Even though I think we waited a day or two to ask her to be our photographer - we knew right after that evening because she is a spectacular person as well as an artful photographer. Throughout the planning process, Rebecca was attentive and accommodating. She responded to emails quickly, answered many questions, provided advice when asked, and was available for calls/meetings in the evening. This really made her a joy to work with. In every interaction it was clear how much she enjoys her career and working with her clients. We had a lot of fun with her during our complimentary engagement photo shoot and it helped us prepare for our wedding day. When it finally came around, Rebecca was like a constant in the eye of the storm. Through all the nerves and wedding day shenanigans, she captured our most important moments with professionalism, kindness, and rapt attention. It was such a joy to work with her and her team. She has a very fast turnaround time for the photos and we were so very happy when we got to look them over. There were so many lovely moments that she helped us preserve - and so many of them were images that only an experienced photographer would know to look for. We had the pleasure of Rebecca's expertise and professionalism in capturing our memories on our very special, fun filled, wedding day, Aug 4 2016. Our ceremony was at the Pilgrim Chapel, Kansas City, MO. This historic chapel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, located in the Hyde Park Historic District of Kansas City-- north of the Country Club Plaza. It is beautiful! With the amazing original stone construction of the chapel, this would create a challenge for photographers I'm sure with the lighting. Rebecca nailed it! Our photographs are amazing! The church is all stone which could have created a yellow hue/reflection, we saw this on the cell phone pics that were snapped by others. This is something to think about when selecting a venue, how the shades and colors of the environment will reflect/ and potentially affect your photographs. Rebecca has photographed many many ceremonies here and we felt confident about how our images would turn out! We are beyond pleased and just simply ecstatic over our special, intimate, funny, and pure fun moments! Real quick..1 of our funny moments was that my husband picked up his wedding band from the Pastor's hand (for some reason?before we started reciting the exchanging of the rings), he went to put it back in the Pastor's hand & pick up mine & dropped his wedding band!..it went rolling down the aisle of the chapel! Rebecca captured this moment! She caught the ring falling and hitting the floor, rolling! In focus! Just amazing, we couldn't stop laughing during the ceremony. These are the moments to cherish. Laughter!! There were many, many more fun and funny moments and we are just so thankful to have had her share them with us and provide us a lifetime of moments to always remember..and laugh with!! Rebecca captured our engagement photos and wedding photos. She did a great job and was flexible with our style. We aren't the most comfortable couple in front of the camera, but Rebecca did a great job making us feel more comfortable as she captured wonderful photos. On our wedding day, her second photographer came into the room where we (the guys) were getting ready and she made it fun and effortless to get the shots. She was able to capture a lot of candid shots that we really enjoy. During the ceremony and reception, she was able to take lots of photos but not be in the way at all. She did a great job and my new wife is very satisfied with the photos!

Rebecca was the photographer for my sister's wedding in Kansas City and did an exceptional job! She was prompt and so friendly when she arrived at the hotel to take pictures of us getting ready. She kept everyone moving and on schedule for the day to make sure everything went just as Michelle wanted. It was fairly hot outside and she made sure to be quick so it wasn't miserable for everyone. Even though it was quick, she didn't sacrifice the quality of the pictures! She joined us on the party bus to capture some pictures that will be treasured forever! At the reception, she captured many detail shots as well as dance party shots. Overall, she was a wonderful photographer and anyone would be lucky to have her!

Rebecca did a wonderful job of capturing our special day. Her communication prior to and after the ceremony was superb. Her professionalism ensured that the photographs were one facet of the wedding I didn’t have to worry about. We had a specific request to include our children in photos and she was very accommodating. She was also very creative in the way she incorporated our desire to include water. She found a lovely fountain close to the chapel and those photos are some of our favorites. I plan to utilize her services again in the future for other photography needs.

Rebecca did an excellent job getting to know us before the sessions so that she knew exactly what style we would like from her. Both the engagement session and wedding session went smoothly! She and her assistant arrived early to our hotel on the wedding day and gave us plenty of time to get acquainted. We had 12 hours (noon-midnight) with her and she was nonstop shooting film to the very end. We are very pleased with the quality of her work and her service. DEFINITELY recommend!!

After a lot of research into photographers, I contacted Rebecca because her prices seemed quite reasonable for the quality of images that she gets. Not only is her work top notch, but her knowledge and expertise in weddings helped her become much more of an asset in the entire planning process. She was able to help me understand not only what type of photographs I wanted, but what kind of timeline I needed and how to achieve the best pictures. She became a calming presence for us the day of the wedding and we both could tell right then and there that we made the right choice by selecting Catch Light! Rebecca captured our wedding day perfectly! I knew I wanted catchlight photography to do my wedding before I even met my groom. I first met Rebecca while doing hair for a friends wedding years ago. Her ability to keep the day on track without being the center of attention impressed me so much. As I looked at my friends wedding photos I could see how well she captured their personalities, and that someday that would be exactly what I wanted. As Paul and I planned our wedding, Rebecca's availablity was right up there with the church (we could find a hall anywhere, but this type of photographer was one in a million). The engagement session was so much fun. We were in "our" element, and she gave us both so many tips on how to look good in pictures. At first my parents were a bit unsettled about the cost (photography was our one splurge on our "we actually have a budget" wedding) however, about ten minutes into the family pictures portion of our day, my mom leaned over and told me that she finally understood why I wanted her so much. Brilliant attention to detail! Our wedding photos captured "us" so well, and because of her coaching during the engagement session there are very few photos where I am dissappointed with how I was positioned. After seeing our pictures I have no regrets on spending the money for such amazing photos! At this point catchlight photography has been our wedding photographer, but little does Rebecca know; she will be taking the pictures for our family for years to come!

Rebecca did our engagement pictures and will do our wedding in June. I have been impressed with Rebecca since the first meeting with her. I am impressed with her photographs and I love her story books. She listens to everything we say and really gets to know us to make the photographs reflect who we really are. During the engagement shoot, she made us feel so comfortable and relaxed so our pictures turned out very natural. She had our pictures edited to show us within a week which was great and of course all of them looked so good! We are so excited she will be there to capture our big day and I have no worries about her capturing all of the moments!

We had a very small (less than 25 people) wedding in a small venue so were not interested in tons and tons of photos and propped shots. Rebecca was very relaxed during our initial consultation, getting to know us and our families, our history and what we wanted out of our wedding experience. As the wedding approached we continued to stay in touch, finalizing shots and requests, times, etc. The day of, Rebecca really flowed with our casual approach, took some awesome interior and exterior shots, caught some great posed and spontaneous shots. After the wedding, we received an email with a preliminary link and shortly after that, got the flashdrive with all the proofs. I knew I wanted a professional photographer but nothing that felt rushed or that we were "a bother" with our small group. Rebecca was great to work with on our small scale and budget and I would recommend her anytime :)

In our opinion and in researching for our photographer, it seemed that anyone could line up the wedding party behind a beautiful backdrop, stage props or shoot the wedding decorations with various aperture settings to give the photos a professional feel. It was however, a different story when it came to capturing the feelings and emotions of the day in the eyes and faces of the subjects being photographed. That being said, Rebecca & Catchlight Photography was absolutely fantastic with the formals and getting what we termed as the, “documentary shots.” These are the shots where we can say, “these are the people who came, those were our flowers, that’s how the tables were set” or, “look at our cake!” Where she definitely met, exceeded and surpassed all expectations was capturing how my spouse and I felt on that day and in that specific moment. From getting ready, followed by our first look all the way to our last dance; the images captured when we didn’t realize she was there are the ones we LOVE! Her calming personality and artistic eye definitely made it much easier for us to fall into more of these moments on our day increasing not only the quality of the images but the quantity as well. There are only positives to tell as she delivered on all of her timelines and deadlines set by her and us, told us what to expect so we could make realistic decisions on everything from how long certain shots would take to helping us order and prioritize what we wanted from her and our wedding day through the images she would be taking. We highly recommend her for anything one needs a photographer for and we plan on using her again for our future special occasions!

Choosing Rebecca to photograph our wedding was the best decision we made. Rebecca took the time to get to know us so that our photographs were something special and personal to us and not just standard or generic photos. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, I was very flustered about our timeline for the wedding day, and having no wedding coordinator to fall back on, I had no idea how the day should flow. My husband, sister, brother in law and I were truly lucky to have Becca as our lead wedding photographer! We had a fairly complicated wedding as it was a double wedding. My sister and I are half sisters and so we share some family members but not all. This made our wish list of formal shots for Becca long and complex but she rolled through it like it was nothing out of the usual. She also worked with our more difficult (but extremely loveable ;) family and friends with care and consideration. I couldn't believe the level of service she was able to provide on this aspect. My husband and I reflected on Becca's family management skills with so much relief after our big day had passed. She made the time spent on pictures fun and relaxing. She even made time for a few special requests my husband and I had like a "carrying the bride over the threshold" shot at our nearby home. The end result? Amazing pictures! There is a photograph of my very reserved grandmother gracing us all with a rare moment of dancing to Twist and Shout that will be one of my most favorite photographs of my life. She looks so happy and is having a wonderful time and Becca captured it perfectly. The couple's dance and father/daughter's dance also were photographed in a way that I will be able to look back at the photos and remember the emotion I had in that moment. Becca tells the story of your wedding day through her pictures and she is a wonderful narrator!

Catch Light had a fairly unique and daunting task in May; photographing a double wedding! I am the sister of one of the grooms and my hopes and expectations for the day were high. Rebecca and her assistant did a beautiful job maintaining a professional, calming, and fun atmosphere despite melting heat, two brides to "win", and giant parties, families and numerous important friends to capture. I was enraptured by her ability to "get" the essence of the couples, the specialness of the venues, and the spirit of extraordinary love afforded by a double wedding. I've used Catch Light for my own photography needs, and I always will.

We used Catchlight for our two daughters who are married for both their wedding and engagement pictures. I think the best review I can give Rebecca is that I wouldn't think of using anyone else if our third daughter gets married. We had a big wedding party with lots of small chidren, and she did a wonderful job staging everyone for the formal photographs. Her candid shots were fun and imaginative, and everybody who saw the pictures loved them and asked about the photographer. The bride and groom look great, and really enjoyed themselves while she took all the shots. All of us will treasure the photographs for a long time to come. Rebecca was my saving grace for my wedding. She was so incredible. She was willing to fly to Chicago to shoot our engagement pics as that's where we currently live and only asked for flight/hotel accomodations. Other photographers we interviewed wanted to charge thousands of extra dollars! Rebecca made us both feel so comfortable and relaxed throughout the whole process. The wedding I was in involved a very large wedding party and both the bride and groom had very large immediate and extended families. To compound the situation, the church where the wedding was held only allowed a half an hour for photography. Despite these challenges Rebecca was able to quickly and efficiently capture all of the formal photographs that the bride and groom had requested. She had the rare ability to be commanding and assertive while maintaining a pleasant demeanor. I have no doubt that whatever challenges arise during a wedding, Rebecca can handle them in stride. Very impressive!

Let me start this off by saying the photographer was one of the most important elements of our wedding to me. I took months to research photographers - meeting each one and grilling them with questions. As soon as I met Rebecca I was at complete ease because I knew I was in the hands of a professional. From start to finish, Rebecca was absolutely wonderful to work with. She worked with me to ensure the spots for all my photos would be perfect - I do not live in Kansas City and she scouted out every area in KC I asked her about and reported back to me on which locations would be the best. She also had excellent suggestions on places I didn't think of. She and I exchanged well over 50 emails in the months leading up to the wedding and Rebecca was sure to always get back to me immediately. On the day of the wedding, she devoted over 12 hours to my husband and I - capturing every moment of our day. She was extremely unobstrusive and just let the day happen and captured the true emotion. Before the wedding day she went over in extreme detail how we would like the formal photos to go with wedding party and family - on the day of the wedding she was so organized that the formal pictures went so fast, smooth, and everyone had a genuine good time. On the day of, Rebecca organized what I consider now to be the most intimate moment of our wedding day - The First Look. Rebecca took such care to ensure the moment went perfect for us. My heart was beating out of my chest when she told me to open my eyes to see my groom for the first time. She captured the entire moment and I will always cherish those pictures. As most brides and grooms are, we were a little frazzled at times on the wedding day and Rebecca had such an amazing way of calming both of us. She helped us to relax during the picture taking sessions and truly aided us in enjoying our day. Rebecca took my husband, our wedding party, and I to the most unique spots in Kansas City and captured the true spirit of our day. She had everyone in our wedding party laughing and having a genuinely good time. I even heard two of the groomsmen commenting that wedding party pictures are usually never this fun. In comparison to other KC photographers that I researched, Rebecca is very reasonably priced for the amazing talent she provides. If you are a picky bride that wants perfect pictures for your wedding day, I would say look no more. Rebecca is the real deal - talented, professional, creative, attentive, upbeat, and always eager to go that extra mile to ensure your wedding day and pictures are nothing but the best.

My wedding would not have been the same without Rebecca as the photographer. She captured that most special day perfectly, and I have the photos and album to forever remember the happiest day of my life. Once someone sees a wedding she has done they are quick to meet with her. Her professionalism is outstanding and she delivers product in a very timely manner. I have been in MANY weddings and a majority of the brides seem to have a negative experience with their photographer - this even happened to me. However, I have been a part of at least two of Rebecca's weddings and she acts as the calming and reliable medium that helps move things along while delivering the exact vision of the Bride and Groom. Rebecca has a great way of catching the moments as they happen. I'd seen her work in the past and knew we had to have to her shoot our wedding and engagement photos. Rebecca of Catch Light Photography did an outstanding job of capturing all the precious moments of my daughter's wedding in July, 2010. This was the third wedding in our family, my second as mother of the groom, so I was mostly an observer, but I could tell that Rebecca kept my son and his bride stress-free, which is huge! She took a gazillion pictures with such quiet competence that you knew it was getting done, but she wasn't underfoot. And even better, she "posed" each one so quickly, with just the minimum of explanation but she communicated well what she wanted in the picture, and ultimately what she knew the bride and groom would be happy with later. We would definitely use her again, as the end product was a beautiful and accurate portrait of a very special day!

Catch Light Photography recently shot a wedding at my venue, The Cotillion in Blue Springs. Rebecca was very kind and professional toward all guests throughout the evening. From a wedding professional standpoint, Rebecca was very cooperative to work with. After a few weeks passed from the event, Rebecca followed up with me to provide pictures for promotional material.
