I went into the Meridian rental shop with my mother and my husband, well in advance of the wedding itself, for some linens and table pieces. We were greeted and then promptly ignored for a while, until my husband got angry enough to start pull...ing linens himself from the back (a big no-no to them apparently).
We looked at several things, and because we wanted *gasp* colored linens for a wedding, they looked down their noses at us (snobbish much!). However, when my husband mentioned that he worked with their caterer (who is wonderful, use him separately and avoid these people!) they were all smiles and happy and accommodating-- it was seriously like someone flipped a switch when he said that. We asked for a price quote after our selections (which took 2 hours of me telling her "no, I really DON'T want white!", and left.
2 months later, we got an e-mail from her (after we called literally 6 times, and my mother went down there and asked, and got "oh we've been soooo busy, I'll send it tomorrow!") with the same information we already knew, not an actual price quote!
We found the SAME linens online for less than half their RENTAL price (35 bucks for a stained tablecloth-- seriously?!?), for purchase, with better service! They are running a scam, and are horribly snobby and rude.
I went in again later with my MIL for the rehearsal dinner decor (much to my dismay, and my prompting not to, but small town has little choices, alas) and they said "Oh, you. Did you find someplace for your linens? We remember you had such "odd" ideas..." Ugh. That is rude. Even my MIL agreed it was horrible of them to say.
The only reason they get a two is because they did help my MIL with the rehearsal, because she knows the caterer well and he snapped them into shape and told them off about our experience.
