Evan, the hands-on owner, is EXTREMELY knowledgeable on all things wedding related. He explained the pros and cons of choosing certain items; be it the paper type, envelope size, ordering from a certain company, to what is necessary and what is an add-on you can pass on. He came highly recommended from a friend who needed invitations in a pinch, and I quickly refered him to another friend, who ordered their invitations from him as well. I sent him sample layouts I had designed elsewhere, and he knew exactly where it was from and offered lesser priced alternative. His honesty in an industry that tends to overcharge because they can, was refreshing and made me feel like we were not going to spend money on stuff we didn't need, or additional stock we wouldn't use. For a small operation, he works quickly and efficently, knowing which companies have a faster turn around time. I plan on going back for more items soon.

Evan seriously saved my sanity when planning my wedding. He knew everything I'd need to include in our wedding invitations (from reception cards to transportation info) without costing an arm and a leg. He gets that you don't want to spend a ton of money but still want quality invites, and that is what you get. He's also extremely accommodating and patient when it comes to last minute changes and additions, something we had a ton of! When it came to other wedding materials such as favors, table cards, etc. he gave his opinion on what was worth spending on, and what wasn't. Much faster and easier than using on of the online sites or another vendor - save yourself the stress and go to Evan!

We decided to walk into Unique Unusuals to check out some invitations for our upcoming wedding. We were very lucky to have Evan Binder help us, without an appointment. Evan was simply wonderful. I wasn’t overly excited about the invitations, but I knew it had to be done. Evan helped us pick out and order our invitations, response card and accommodations card. He made sure that we got the best possible price. He proof read our guest list and addresses and printed them. After we had them printed, we decided to add a few more invites. Evan printed more envelopes for us without hesitation. When I picked up my invitations, I was blown away. They were beautiful! I couldn’t believe how impressed I was & I could hardly wait for my fiancé to see them! After all of the planning is finished, I look back and realize that this was the easiest, most stress-free & pleasurable experience of all the wedding planning. I owe this to Evan & I cannot thank him enough. My invitations were beautiful & truly exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend going to Evan at Unique Unusuals for your invitations – just make an appointment first!

HORRIBLE. STAY AWAY. I had the most miserable and unprofessional experience here. Besides June being completely condescending, unpleasant, and horrible to deal with, she also withheld our money! I was short on time and had designed an invitation. When the proof came back it was entirely different than what I had designed. June told me at that point that I would need to come back to the store to redesign the invitation I had already designed. Without time to do that, I had to quickly find someone new. In the meantime, June had overcharged for a deposit and when I requested the deposit back after I found someone new I was told there were all these charges that the store keeps from the deposit even though I was never told about these charges before June charged my credit card. Short end, Unique pocketed much of my deposit even though the only work done by them was a a bad design. If you want your money pocketed by this place go here. Otherwise stay away! I have never had a more unpleasant and unprofessional experience in my life!

I had been searching for weeks online for invitations and frankly I was overwhelmed. I found Unique Unusuals on the Knot and figured I'd give it a shot. Evan was incredibly helpful in narrowing down the vast selection of invitations into one or two books based on our style/budget. He was also very upfront about certain things we were thinking about including that would bring us over. After an appointment that ran over (and we never felt rushed to leave), we managed to create a custom invitation from multiple samples of other invites. It was also really fruitful to see and feel the invitations in person to get a better sense of what you wanted, which was a huge drawback from trying to pick items out from online invitation places. During the proofing process, Evan was very quick to respond to emails with questions and concerns. I was stunned at how much nicer the invitations turned out than I originally anticipated and my custom response cards were a big hit with our guests. I would highly recommend stopping by if you are a Manhattan bride planning your wedding and was overwhelmed with the entire invitation process like I was.

The best experience out there! We did everything from save-the-dates, programs, place cards, invitation at Unique Unusual and couldn't have been happier with the service. They have a huge selection of everything that you're looking for wedding related and Evan is extremely professional and personable. He knew exactly what we were thinking and was helpful with the little details that we would've forgotten about. Thanks again for all the help!!!

Unique Unusuals did our wedding invites, rehearsal invites and thank you cards. Besides everything being absolutely gorgeous, June and Evan were a pleasure to work with. They were patient, helpful, and guided us to choosing the most beautiful invitations that represented the look we were going for. They guided us every step of the way. We were so happy with how everything came out and are so appreciative of all of the work they put into helping us choose our invites. Such great people, beautiful work...we couldn't have asked for anything more.

When my fiance and I first started looking at invitations at the big department stores, we were quickly turned off by the impersonal service and pushy attitudes. I had come across Unique Unusuals from online reviews, and we decided to stop by one Saturday when we were out running errands....I'm SO SO SO glad we did. Our invitations recently arrived, and they are exquisite - beyond my expectations. Aside from the beautiful finished product, I found the entire process to be enjoyable (not stressful) and thoroughly enjoyed working with June and Evan. They were extremely knowledgeable and professional, attentive, very patient, offered great suggestions and never tried to up-sell or push us into a decision. I was very impressed with how non-stressful the whole process was and really appreciated their responsiveness to our questions and emails. Truly the best experience out of all our wedding vendors thus far - which makes all the difference in the world. We are so thrilled with our invitations and plan on using Unique Unusuals for our guest cards, programs, etc. If you are looking around for invitations - do not waste your time looking around. Trust me, you will leave happy!

My fiance and I could not have been happier to work with June + Evan at Unique Unusuals. Not only did our invitations come out perfect and incredible beautiful, but they were a pleasure to deal with. They are honest, helpful, and truly help you make decisions that make sense. In a market where people are learning to do this for the first time, it makes sense to pick a vendor that can hold your hand a bit through the process. They are both amazing, and we'd work with them over and over if we could. A month after the wedding, we are still getting calls about how gorgeous our invitations, programs, menus, and place cards were. Our goal in searching for a stationer was to find people who would be fun to work with while putting out the best product possible. We succeeded and love Evan + June!

I used Unique Unusuals for my wedding and they did my invitations, place cards, thank you cards, menus, programs, addressing of envelopes and place cards, and gifts for the bridal party. Using them as a vendor was one of the best decisions I made. Evan worked with me from the very beginning and he was a true resource. He offered great suggestions and helped me stay on budget while getting exactly what I wanted.I kept going back and forth between two invitations and with his help I made the best decision. I never thought i would get as many compliments on my invitation as i did. He was extremely responsive throughout the whole process and very patient with me. He reminded me about things that I would have totally forgotten about. He was a lifesaver! For all those type A people who want exactly what they want, then i absolutely recommend you stop in the store and see for yourself. They also have fun gifts and nick nacks too!

I worked with Evan & June at Unique Unusuals from the start to finish of every aspect of my wedding. From save the dates, to invites, to menus, programs & place cards they were there to help the whole way. They made everything so easy and kept me on a timeline and guided me the whole way. My fiance and I needed to print out wedding papers last minute and I came across Unique Unusual on yelp. We needed to print out wedding menus, program sheets and placement cards and Evan is very professional and super responsive. We finalzied all the design within 3 days (emails back and forth) and was able to pick up everything the next week. I truly enjoyed working with Evan and he is very reliable. Would recommend the store to anyone preparing for a wedding.

The best wedding invitation experience I could have wanted! Don't waste your time and the other stores, go straight to them. After my original company fell short, Evan was able to see me immediately and had my order good to go within an hour. He really knows what he is doing and gives great advice throughout the entire process. I told him what I was looking for and where other places barely listen and then leave you alone and overwhelmed with literally dozens of books to look in, he heard what we said and narrowed it down immediately. If we wanted to look at everything, we could have but the fact that he could pinpoint and make something that was so unpleasant become enjoyable was awesome. He communicated everything throughout the entire order time and was professional and always pleasant. Plus, they have a really cute storefront and if you are a sucker for that kinda stuff, you are not leaving that place empty handed!

I worked with Evan on a variety of printed materials for my wedding. I came to him with a lot of nutty ideas, and he made them happen! He had great suggestions when I was a bit overkill, and was willing to work with me when my mind was made up. He also had some great ideas that I had never thought of. I purchased place cards, menu cards, cocktail napkins, yarmulkes, a customized card for our flip book booth, and labels for our welcome bags. We hadn't purchased our invitations from Evan (sadly, we found the store a month AFTER that purchase) but when I ran out of envelopes, he was able to get extras for us. Evan was extremely knowledgeable on all things wedding. I plan to use Unique Unusuals for any future party needs that I might have!

My experience with unique unusuals was fantastic. Evan was so helpful with every aspect of finding the perfect invite. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted and Evan did not rest until he found the perfect invite within my budget. Evan really provides personal attention to help you navigate all the options. June and Evan made picking out our wedding invitations an absolute pleasure. Unlike the big shops where you are just directed to a table to peruse a number of big albums with little guidance, Unique Unusuals is committed to providing individual attention, helping you make each decision along the way. We ended up using them for all of our paper needs during the wedding; menus, placecards, programs, etc., and everything turned out beautifully! They were detailed, reliable and creative and I would encourage anyone who wants a personalized expreience to use them!
