Julie Evans is a contributor for The Knot, where she writes wistfully about all the amazing wedding options out there today, from the perfect earrings to honeymoon outfits and beyond. Though she’s been happily married for years, she adores weddings and would love to get married many more times. Instead, she writes vicariously about wedding topics, hoping to help others put on the wedding of their dreams.

When she’s not writing, you’ll likely find her on the tennis court desperately trying to perfect an overhead smash or walking her dog, Cooper. She has two kids and the aforementioned husband. Where they all live currently is a long story.

Experience

Julie’s career started on Capitol Hill where she served as press secretary to a member of The U.S. House of Representatives. She went on to work in public relations and internal communications for top companies such as Microsoft before diving into the world of online lifestyle publications. In addition to writing for The Knot and WeddingWire, she has been an editor and writer for USA Today, SheKnows, CafeMom, Realtor.com, Dictionary.com, The Spruce and many (many!) others.

Education

Julie got her undergraduate degree in journalism at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, where she served as managing editor of the student newspaper, The Antelope. She earned a master’s degree in nonfiction writing from The Johns Hopkins University.
