Laura is the Associate Editor, Performance Content at The Knot Worldwide where she covers everything from what gifts to put on your registry to where to go on your honeymoon. With nearly a decade of editorial experience, Laura is an expert in all things weddings and travel.

Based in London, UK, Laura recently got engaged in the Scottish Highlands and is about to start planning two (!) weddings, in both the UK and in her native New Zealand. When she’s not thinking about what font to use on wedding invitations, you’ll probably find her reading, hiking, baking or booking a weekend break to the seaside.

Experience

After editing her high school newspaper, Laura knew journalism was the path for her. Wanting to work in magazines, Laura moved from New Zealand to Australia to study journalism. During this time, she interned at Cosmopolitan Australia and Cosmopolitan Bride where she caught the wedding bug.

Upon graduating, she was offered a role as editorial assistant at Mamamia, before being promoted to site producer and entertainment writer. After moving to London in 2016, Laura was appointed as the digital travel and lifestyle writer at the Daily Star, before moving to the Evening Standard where she covered all things lifestyle and travel for three years. It was in this role that Laura went back to her wedding roots, leading content coverage for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding as well as Princess Eugenie’s wedding back in 2018.

At the end of 2020, Laura went freelance and was published on sites like Culture Trip, Glamour, BA High Life, Sydney Morning Herald, The Independent and Yahoo Style before joining TKWW in mid-2021.

Education

Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Media (Communications and Journalism) from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.

During her time at college, Laura interned for Cosmopolitan Australia and Cosmopolitan Bride for two years where she was brought on as a freelancer. She also interned for Mamamia, Dolly magazine and Shop ‘til You Drop.
