Maria Bouselli is an experienced managing editor with a demonstrated history of working in digital and magazine media and a strong background in copy editing. She is a strong media and communication professional with a Master of Science focused on Magazine Writing and Editing from Northwestern University. Maria spent almost six years working for The Knot before transitioning into her current position as an Editorial Copy Manager for Dotdash. 

Experience

Maria began her career at the Pocono Record as an Advertising and Journalism Intern while completing her undergraduate degree. She returned the following years as the Assistant to the Advertising Director. Maria then attended Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism for her graduate degree. After graduating, Maria was hired by 9Threads as an Assistant Editor for Footwear Plus and Earnshaw’s. She was later promoted to Associate Editor. Maria joined The Knot team as a Copy Editor in 2013. After two years she was promoted to Senior Copy Editor where she oversaw and enforced a style guide across the brands. Maria was then promoted to Assistant Managing Editor and then Managing Editor. In this position she managed magazine, online, and social editorial teams, among many other responsibilities. In 2019, Maria was hired by Dotdash as an Senior Managing Editor, overseeing all of the company’s brands. 

Education

Maria graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with a focus on Journalism. Maria also holds a Master of Science in Magazine Writing and Editing from Northwestern University. During her last quarter at the Medill School of Journalism, Maria was peer-elected as the Managing Editor of Hinge, their magazine innovation project.
