Taylor Carson is a contributor for The Knot, where she covers wedding venue roundups for locations all over the U.S. and beyond. Taylor has four years’ experience writing and editing wedding content, starting in her hometown of Philadelphia and now reaching a wider audience at The Knot. She loves writing about weddings in a down-to-earth and fun way because, as a bride-to-be herself, she understands how overwhelming the wedding planning process can be.
Taylor resides in Philadelphia with her fiance and two golden retrievers. When she’s not working on a freelance assignment, Taylor can be found planning her December 2022 wedding, scrolling on Instagram and TikTok, hanging out with her childhood BFFs, watching the latest bingeable TV show, or spending time with her fiance and dogs.
Experience
After entering Temple University with the intention of studying broadcast journalism, Taylor quickly fell in love with print—specifically, magazine journalism—so she switched gears. Her sophomore year, Taylor interned for Her Campus Media. Her most impactful college experience was reporting for the San Luis Obispo Tribune at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. Over the four-day event, Taylor interviewed California delegates and wrote stories about their experiences in Philly.
During Taylor’s last semester in college, she interned for Philadelphia magazine. After graduation, she was hired as Philadelphia’s Editorial Assistant, eventually becoming the Assistant Managing Editor. It was here that Taylor gained her first editorial wedding experience, overseeing the production of Philadelphia Wedding and contributing to the magazine herself.
Education
Taylor is a proud graduate of Temple University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in English. In addition to her formative internship experiences, Taylor was the copy editor of Temple’s yearbook and a member of the Delta Zeta sorority.
