I could write a book about what an amazing experience working with Averie is, but I'll spare you all and just say that if you want truly incredible photos to remember your wedding by, hire her *immediately*. From the engagement shoot to the day of our wedding, Averie (and Monnelle!) was an absolute dream, capturing every moment we requested in the most beautiful way possible. I'm already trying to figure out which wall in our apartment to cover with her photos from the day. Can't recommend enough!

Averie is more than just a wedding photographer/videographer. She is your advocate. From day 1, Averie has gone above and beyond for us. When we first got engaged, we went on a search for someone that would capture the authentic us. We did not want pictures that were overly posed. We wanted to feel true to form. She is the one wedding vendor that we felt was worth transporting from our home area (NYC) to the Catskills (where we are getting married). We only took our engagement photos but we cannot wait for Averie to capture our Big Day. We would recommend her time and time again.

We hired Averie from Towards the Moon as our videographer for our wedding in May. When we came across one of Averie’s videos, we fell in love with her style and booked her immediately! We watched a lot of videos to try to figure out what we wanted and no other videos would compare. Her style is so artful and unique - it certainly doesn’t follow the usual script for wedding videos. When editing, she has you fill out a questionnaire to make sure she takes your exact preferences into account: slow and romantic, fun and upbeat, quirky, etc. On the wedding day, she took a journalistic approach to filming our wedding, mostly giving us the space to enjoy our day, and VERY lightly directing us when needed to help us get those gorgeous shots. We were blown away by our wedding video - we were so happy with it we were willing to pay for an additional dancing montage, but Averie threw it in for free! It was such a lovely surprise, and we watch both videos over and over. She also includes raw footage with her packages, which we’ve watched bits and pieces of already - it’s so fun to see all the raw and unfiltered parts of the day too. Hire Averie - you can’t go wrong with Towards the Moon!

Working with Averie and her team at Towards the Moon was hands down one of the best decisions we made on our wedding day. Averie was professional, responsive and an overall pleasure to spend our wedding planning process and entire wedding day with. Book Averie and her team right now!! It gives me such pleasure to write this review. Averie and her team were truly one of the highlights of our big day. When looking for a photographer/videographer I came across Averie on the Knot and I loved her style of photos and how she poses her clients. Her photos are very natural and don't appear staged in any way. Another reason I chose Towards the Moon is because I wanted my video to have the same vibe as my photos. Monnelle's videography blends seamlessly with Averie's photography. I was fortunate enough to have the entire team of kick-ass women (Averie, Leslie, Monnelle & Alena) work my wedding. I advise setting up an engagement shoot. My husband and I have not had professional photos done together so the engagement shoot helped work out any kinks and awkwardness. And on top of it we got to know Averie even better! She drove out to us and took our photos in two separate locations. We wanted our dog in some of our engagement photos so we shot some near our apartment and then drove over to a park to finish the photos of just Connor and I. I had been in contact with Averie a lot throughout our year and a half of wedding planning and she was always prompt and sincere in all of her responses. My bridal party and so many of my guests came up to me saying how much fun her whole team was. They were snapping photos/video all night and even dancing along with us! If there was any certain photo/video clip I wanted the team came right over and shot it. Her team has a vision and makes phenomenal suggestions on different shots. Averie suggested we do a sparkler exit at the end of our reception and I am SO happy she did. She showed me a few of the pictures at the end of the night and they were beautiful. I can't wait to see all of the photos and video. I honestly cannot thank Averie, Monnelle, Leslie and Alena enough for helping to make our big day absolutely perfect <3

Averie is talented, lovely to work with, and most importantly - kind and patient. We initially reached out to Averie when we had planned to get married at City Hall; she was honest about how much time she thought we needed and did not try to up sell us on her services. We later decided to have micro-wedding, and she worked with our wedding planner to get everything together for our wedding day. Averie arrived early, and she started snapping pictures even before I was aware of it -- she caught some beautiful pictures of the bridal party while we were rushing to wrap up our hair and make-up and to get dressed. About half an hour before the ceremony, I started to panic because I thought we were running late; Averie was super kind and calming, and suggested that she take photos of me holding my dress so I could have a few minutes to gather myself. Those photos turned out amazing! Once we were on location for our ceremony, Averie took our first look, family portraits, and bridal portraits - she captured many sweet moments, and lots of silly ones too. She did an excellent job documenting everything. No details were missed - from capturing all of our guests, to the little party favors, to the details of our micro modern tea ceremony, and our ceremony. We are so thrilled with our final product! In fact, I immediately emailed Averie and asked her to photograph our post-pandemic wedding reception celebration later this/next year.

So thrilled we were able to work with Averie! Her flexibility and patience with us as we pivoted from traditional wedding, to scaled down backyard fete, to last minute elopement was incredible. She brought much needed emotional support as well as her out-of-this-world talent to the day and made us feel totally at ease. We have gotten so many compliments on our photos and can't stop staring at them ourselves! She had photos for us crazy quick, even during the holiday season. We knew that our photographer would be the most important vendor for our wedding and we are so glad that we chose Averie! Thank you for everything!!!

My husband and I were in a mad rush to find an amazing wedding photographer that was able to capture actual feelings and moments. When we found Averie we had just one call and knew she was right for us. We ended up eloping at the NYC court house in December while it was pouring rain. In times were we just needed a minute to ourself Averie felt that stepped bad and some how managed to get incredible shots. Then when we go more comfortable she was able to give us tips on what we could try next. While leaving us at ease. We loved the experience so much that we booked here to shoot us again 2 years later for a like where are we now. I still to this day have people commenting about our wedding photographer. Her work just speaks to people. Even if you don’t know the couple, she has a way of capturing there own person magic.

Averie made our elopement so magical and effortless! She was kind, professional, accommodating, and best of all fun! She has an innate ability to capture special moments through her lens that I have never seen before. Her talent truly speaks for itself and every photo is a work of art. We were blown away by the stunning portraits and candid shots she took. My main goal was to capture our love and happiness in it’s truest form and she absolutely nailed it! To be honest, we have not been able to stop staring at our pictures! As a bonus, the turn around time to getting the images back was remarkably fast! Averie and her team have been absolutely amazing to work with! Averie did our engagement shoot, which was the first time my husband and I took professional photos together, so it took a minute but she helped us get comfortable, and made the gloomy day work in our favor. She was very understanding when we had to upend our plans (not once, but twice) because of COVID, worked with us on rescheduling, and the finished products are creative, beautiful, and meaningful. We were still able to have a socially distanced, intimate ceremony on May 24th this year, and the TTM team blew it out of the water! We got our pictures back and she had captured the day so beautifully. We thought we wouldn’t see any video footage until after our postponed reception in 2021, but Averie just surprised us the other day with a stunning wedding film that I cannot stop watching! They were very professional, inspired, and supportive throughout the whole day, and this entire process. Her work clearly speaks for itself, and I have no shortage of romantic, artistic pictures to frame and I am beyond thankful that we chose Averie, and Towards the Moon, to capture our beautiful day(s). Averie did an incredible job taking photos of our special day. We've been thrilled with them and our whole family is raving about how gorgeous they are. She really captured the spirit of the day in its best angle! She was very professional throughout the whole day - I especially appreciated Averie wearing a mask throughout the hot day during covid19. It was lovely to have her gentle guidance during the celebration. Afterwards, she edited the photos and gave them to us within the week! It was a super fast turnaround and super appreciated.

Averie and her team were absolutely wonderful to work without throughout the entire wedding process. Averie first impressed us after our engagement shoot, when she somehow managed to get stunning pictures of an awkward couple on a rainy afternoon. We knew then we had made the right choice. We then dragged the entire TTM team to our wedding in upstate NY, where they were extremely accommodating about a non-traditional venue location and wedding that was to last two days! They took the time to scope out the venue, scenery, and come up with a vision for the entire weekend so we could get different shots. They were extremely professional and understanding throughout the weekend, especially when we were running short on time, or even if I just needed a few minutes away from the camera. They were constantly thinking of new ideas-like creating late night portraits with cool bright lights, taking moody bonfire shots, or walking us into the middle of a field for our first look. I love that they are true artists, always looking for inspiration. We received our sneak peek just days after our wedding and the entire gallery around a month after. The final result was AMAZING, with Averie showcasing a variety of styles from moody, airy, dramatic, candid, etc- she made our wedding look like an absolute dream! Even when I felt that I wanted a few more pictures of certain moments throughout the weekend, Averie very kindly and patiently fulfilled my request, which just proves that her team truly captures it all. Her work is beyond stunning, and I highly recommend the entire TTM team- I can’t wait to hire them again in the future!

Where do I even begin? Averie has been beyond phenomenal through the planning and wedding day! I was lucky enough to see her in action before I was engaged at a family friends wedding. Her professionalism but calm demeanor and her photos had me sold on hiring her for my day! When Averie arrived at the venue she instantly meshed into our fun chaos and even felt like family! She asked if there were any specific shots we wanted and even suggested shots. She takes creative leaps, for example at my wedding she wanted to try out throwing confetti... so far that is my absolute favorite photo!! It brings out the pure joy and bliss of love and that was all from her creative eye!! During the reception she walked around taking candid's but also helped family members who haven't seen each other in a while, take new updated photos which was a big hit! I'm absolutely blown away by Averie and Towards The Moon's professionalism, creative ability and friendliness! I cannot recommend her/them enough! Luckily, I get to see Averie and her crew in a few weeks at my sisters wedding!

What can I say about Averie and her team? I was blown away by their photography skills, from my engagement shoot to wedding day photos. The dreamy-style brought tears to my eyes. I don't even know how to properly describe how amazing Averie and her entire team were. My husband and I are both so uncomfortable with getting our pictures taken so we were alittle worried about how we'd do with wedding photos...but some how Averie gave us the most wonderful wedding pictures we could have ever imagined. Insane credit due to this phenomenal photographer and her talented staff. We hired Averie to shoot our wedding in Los Angeles, getting ready in Hollywood and then Downtown LA for our wedding night. Her artistic eye is what drew us to her shooting style and she delivered every bit of it to us in our wedding photos. My now-husband and I are two awkward-photo-taking people and she made us feel as comfortable & natural as we could, with minimal double chin photos. We got a wide variety of photo backgrounds and looks because of her vision and her uncanny ability to direct us when needed. Her turnaround time for photo delivery was unreal. We were able to use our photos for our custom thank you cards, with printed photos for our guests, and delivered our cards within 6 weeks of the wedding date. That made us feel amazing and like we were on top of our neverending wedding to do list (which continues long after the wedding is over!). Averie is an amazing professional, don’t look anywhere else for all your visual needs. We are eternally grateful for her delivery of these amazing photos and memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. My fiance and I hired Averie to help us shoot our engagement photos in New York City and the outcome blew us away. We could not be happier with Averie and her work! Averie was a wonderful wedding photographer. My wife and I had a very intimate ceremony and dinner—only 12 people total—and Averie fit right in to the group. Our settings were tricky—on the streets of New York, on the subway, in a public park, and in a private room lit almost entirely by candles. Not only did she seamlessly navigate all the changes in scenery and lighting, she got some shots we never would have even thought of—subtle moments with our family on the cab ride to the dinner and interacting with random strangers on the subway. All in all, we had hundreds of beautiful photos to remember the day by. She was a complete pleasure to work with—very clear in all communications, kind and considerate with everyone, able to wrangle a lot of different people and situations—and totally worth every penny. She even got us our photos while we were still on our honeymoon—way earlier than we anticipated! If you’re looking for a great photographer who will roll with whatever you throw her way and really capture the spirit of your celebration, look no further.

I had a small elopement and booked Averie after speaking with her on the phone. Though we had not met in person she made me feel comfortable immediately when we met on my wedding day. We did a small elopement in Grand Central Station and she was so good about seeing different/beautiful/creative spots for us to take photos in (there and Bryant Park). She is also great at directing and making us feel comfortable in front of the camera. My husband can be a little stiff and we were able to get amazing candids. Our photos speak for themselves truly. I'd highly recommend her. Her style is absolutely gorgeous.

Averie is extraordinary – and her work speaks for itself. There's something so special about the moments she captures, and you can see the magic instantly. Averie shot our engagement photos for us, our first ever professional shoot. I was nervous about whether the pictures would turn out just since it was our first go, but when we received the pictures (just 1 day after our shoot), we were blown away. Averie does not retouch or modify the moments she captures - she has an impeccable eye for beautiful snapshots, and she has a knack for bringing out the best features of her subjects. Our experience with Towards the Moon was beyond perfection. The entire team that worked our wedding day was kind, professional, and really talented. Our wedding photos would not be what they are without the effort of this team. We hired Towards the Moon for two events- my rehearsal dinner and the wedding. Averie makes me want to hire a photographer for every event that I have! My sisters hired her for my bridal shower and she took the most amazing photos. She captured extremely authentic and emotional moments throughout my special day. You wouldn't have had to be at the shower to understand the vibe of the day. She even stayed a bit longer until some of the speeches were done. Not only is her style of shooting authentic and candid, she is super kind and gives off a great vibe. When we were searching for a wedding photographer, we were hoping for someone with a more aristic and candid approach to their photos. We searched for a photographer who's work was the perfect combination of edgy and traditional. When we came across Towards the Moon photopgrahy we knew pretty instantly that Averie was the photographer we needed. Averie is amazing and so easy to work with. She blended in when she needed to and was readily available when a photo needed to be taken. We couldn't recommend her enough! My wife and I thought we would be very awkward on camera since we don't take pictures of ourselves very often. Averie accommodated our last minute request for an "engagement shoot" that turned out to be a "pre-wedding" shoot. Averie made us look and feel like rock stars. By the time our wedding rolled around, we were so comfortable with her. She was able to capture us and our guests in the moment which will make our pictures timeless. Averie got everyone's good side and her editing skills are incredible. Every picture has such a distinct feel to it and we absolutely adore the work she's sent us.

We originally contacted Averie through Thumbtack and from the beginning she was so professional, lovely and flexible. Planning a wedding long-distance can be complicated, but Averie was always flexible with scheduling phone or Skype calls and emailing, and we really felt like we understood how she worked and her vision even long distance. We immediately fell in love with her photos and style and on the day of our wedding, we saw it for ourselves. She made us feel comfortable and let us be natural with one another, even during the portrait session and captured the moments as they happened. Averie was excellent at rounding up our bridal party and family, even when she had to manage almost 70 family members into one photo singlehandedly. She was prompt with getting our highlights and full album to us, and the pictures truly came out incredibly, both the raw shots and editing. We really are so lucky that Averie captured this amazing day for us!

I am so glad to have found Towards the Moon. Averie worked hard to customize a package for exactly what we were looking for, prioritizing the things that we really cared about in order to stay within our budget. I had done a lot of research to find a photographer who was in the artistic style I was hoping for and also within our budget, and was convinced that I was going to have to sacrifice something, until I found Towards the Moon. If this is something you're struggling with, I recommend having a chat with Averie! We also were not planning to hire a videographer in order to stay within our budget, but Averie and her team do both photo and video and I LOVE the short highlight films they produce! We love our photos and can't wait to see the video! Averie was also super speedy in sending back an incredible set of around 80 photos just two days after the wedding (!!) as a preview gallery, which was so fast and so fun to be able to share photos with our friends and family almost immediately!
