Intelligent Lighting Design + Austin Wedding Lighting

I hired ILD to supply some string lights and 10 up lights for my wedding. Had a great experience until I got to my venue and only saw 6 up lights (which thankfully ultimately didn't have any major effect on my enjoyment of my wedding day). There's a dispute about whether my coordinator "refused" four of the up lights as ILD claims, or if my coordinator was advised that we didn't need all 10 up lights, as my coordinator contends. Regardless of whether ILD was contractually able to keep my money for those four lights (they probably do), I was satisfied with the products we rented. However, I was and am DEEPLY dissatisfied with how I was treated in trying to understand why I didn't have what I had paid for. The last I heard from them was a threatening email from their legal department accusing me of "theft of service" if I discussed pursuing a potential refund with my credit card company. I would not trust them ever again, and I urge you not to give them the opportunity to treat you as badly as they treated me. There are too many other good lighting companies in Austin.

I rented an LED dance floor (and tree lighting) from ILD. It was the rental I was most excited about and the next thing I secured after we chose our venue. I had a great experience with the sales associate in the months leading up to our wedding. I still don't know exactly what happened on their end but 2 weeks before my wedding the general manager called to tell me there was a concern regarding my space all of a sudden and tried to sell me on a different service, after explaining I would pay whatever it cost to make it work, I was told I could not have the original dance floor I had a contract on for 8 months. At that point the conversations grew heated and instead of working it out with me, I received an email 1 week out cancelling the dance floor all together on me. I was devastated and had to spend the week before our wedding finding a replacement, luckily we did with another company out of McKinney and our day ended up perfect but I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Their rentals look beautiful but it was a brides worst nightmare and the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The only positive is they did send me a total refund since they were the ones who cancelled on me.

We used ILD for their twinkle light package at The Winfield Inn. We chose the package that had twinkle lights around the perimeter as well as each post. It added a special element to our big day that we wouldn't have had otherwise. We were very happy with how things turned out. Especially with them coordinating their arrival and set up time with the venue manager. We got to the reception area and everything was set up, just how we had envisioned.

ILD was professional, easy to work with and set up lighting for our wedding exactly as we envisioned. We were coming in from out of town to Austin for our wedding and were able to talk with ILD representative to walk us through all of our options, pricing and timing. We arrived at our venue with everything set up like discussed. It was a pleasure to work with ILD for our wedding lighting needs.

He worked with me on my budget to make affordable decisions and was very patient through the process. I am very pleased with the service provided, the team truly cares about their customers!

My wedding was an outdoor wedding in May of 2014. I had called several companies for both outdoor lighting and an outdoor dance floor. I had a lot of trouble getting in touch with people with this company and when they did get back in touch with me after a lot of phone tag, I decided to use them based on their reputation and price. Everything was set several months in advance - price, date, location, time, details etc... I was called 3 days before my wedding that someone had given me the wrong quote and if I didn't come up with an extra $600 within 24 hours they would cancel my event. The phone person had even told me they made a mistake when calculating my amount but never apologized, just threatened to cancel days before my event. This was all the while I was soooo busy with work and family the days leading up to the wedding. With no other options that close to the event, I was pressured into paying the 'ransom money' despite their mistake and this having been quoted and planned months in advance. It was a very negative experience for myself and my wedding planner. I believe my venue even removed them from their vendor list following multiple negative interactions with people within the company trying to figure out this last minute issue. I tried to block the experience out to keep positive memories only of my wedding - most all others were indeed positive. I was later contacted about 6 months after the wedding by someone from their company to see if they could use promotional photos from my wedding. I then responded with a thank you for reminding me how I would like to address the very negative experience I had with their company prior to my wedding and honeymoon. I received no response as clearly they did not want to deal with any 'problems.' Just more marketing and photos. I would not recommend this company. I had a very negative experience. Very poor customer service and communications with multiple layers of the company from the ordering to pricing and billing and even 'marketing and customer service' months down the road.

ILD provided all of the lighting for our wedding - uplighting, pinspots, monogram on the wall, and pattern on the dance floor. Lighting can truly transform a space. I am so thankful we chose to add lighting to our wedding decor because it made a HUGE difference in the feel of the ballroom. ILD has high-quality lights and great technology. ILD offers tons of colors to choose from, the ability to change colors throughout the night, and allows you to custom-make a monogram. Katherine is so easy to work with, very responsive, and truly wants your event to be lit perfectly. ILD is amazing at what they do!

For the last 15 months, I have been single handedly planning what I hope to be the FIESTA of the decade! Our wedding will be at Camp Lucy's Ian's Chapel this November. Luckily Camp Lucy is filled with many beautiful scenescapes, however, because I am a big fan of Pinterest, I just so happen to come across ILD's page and saw that they had done quite a few events with Camp Lucy. Established vendor relationships with Camp Lucy was something very important to me from the beginning. Now because the theme is Fiesta, I wanted to have festoon lights, along with our personalized "papel picado" strung from the banisters inside the reception hall. This was something I knew hadn't been done before at Camp Lucy. When I approached ILD with the concept, they met it with great enthusiasm and as a fun, new challenge for them. They pretty much handled it from there. Their representative, Jamie, contacted Camp Lucy and discussed the plans with them and called me back within 48 hours to tell me that everything was approved! With everything on my plate, this was such a relief! Within a week, details were discussed and (electronic) contracts were signed! I will say that I was extremely tempted to throw in their illuminated, disco dance floor! Great website, even better staff and ever since I added ILD to the mix, I've easily become more excited about the atmosphere. I know my guests are in for quite an experience that day and ILD's contribution will only make that evening that much more memorable!

What more do you need in a lighting company than helping you pick your color and showing up without you knowing setting up and it looking wonderful. I completely forgot about them because there was no fuss like there was with other vendors on my wedding. Loved it! :)

I worked with ILD as a wedding planner and designer for a client this fall. They had an intricate, fun paper lantern canopy to construct. They were well prepared and able to make it happen from scratch, though they'd never done anything like that at the venue before. It's always nice to work with vendors that consistently do great work and make things happen, especially when there's no room for error during wedding setups. It is also fun to dream up fun lighting concepts and installations with them, they always go above and beyond. Definitely check out ILD for your event lighting installation needs!

Several vendors I contacted and inquired about lighting directed me to ILD. I was an out of town bride in NC, planning my wedding in Austin. ILD was great to work with and they provided up lighting, pin spotting on the cakes, and a monogram that shined onto a stone fireplace. I would highly recommend ILD to anyone.

The ILD Team sure knows how to keep a smile on your face. Every interaction I had with them left me more delighted about the day. Bigger and bigger smile with each email, phone call, walk through, and then seeing the final results. ILD lighting was amazing right from the beginning! To be honest I contacted a few different lighting vendors and from my first correspondence with ILD I knew they were the right fit. They were totally open to our rustic style and seemed to understand that for us lighting had to be perfect! We feel that lighting is almost the most important part of an outdoor wedding, after a few conference calls with ILD (since we were planning the wedding from a different state) they put all our ideas and references into reality! We discussed so many different lighting options and they mastered all the things we dreamed up together perfectly! Our wedding location had very strict time constraints with set up really late and break down the same evening of the wedding, however ILD worked directly with our location and made the process so smooth and amazing! I was blown away, and we heard a lot of our guests say it was the most breathtaking wedding they had ever been too! We had beautiful soft amber light everywhere, zig zag string lights over the dining tables, beige paper lanterns over the dance floor, paper bags with leds all along the paths leading to the reception, it was perfect!!! Thank you Katherine and everyone at LED for making the lighting look and feel like a magical fairytale!! We will never forget that night and the beautiful glow that surrounded us!

I can't say enough about how much the ILD team cared about making me and making my event a success. I know they would do what ever it took (long hours, several meetings and even creating some new furniture) to make my event look better in real life than it did in my dreams. We have used ILD Lighting for many weddings and we are always blown away by the results. It is unbelievable the impact that lighting has on an event! It takes your day from being just a wedding to being an event that people will be talking about for years to come. Not only do they have a ton of lighting options, from uplighting to pinspots and chandeliers, they have great customer service to back it up. We have been able to have lighting even in places where there were no outlets by using their wireless LED lights. ILD was hired to do lights for a wedding I was photographing last weekend (She-N-He Photography and Design.) I knew the location needed lighting, its all outdoors and the venue provides just a few festoons. ILD's display was so spectacular, the kind of lighting where you don't even realize you're seeing it. But if it wasn't there you'd miss it. It's a brand new location so the lighting design was something they had never done before and they had to provide two separate lighting designs for both ideal and inclement weather conditions. Even with all of the plans up in the air, they never broke a sweat. Great job. I'll be pleased to work with you guys anytime.

ILD did an amazing job with the lighting design for Jena's wedding at Brazos Hall. The lighting accents made such a difference and really highlighted the head table and lounge areas. They listened to the vision we had and even custom designed a lighting accent for one of the lounge settings. The techs did such a great job with the execution and staged everything so perfectly that everyone thought they were permanent fixtures. Every detail was carried out and even exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend working with them.

ILD did the lighting at our wedding and it was magical. We had an outdoor ceremony and reception, and Katherine completely understood my vision of zig zag festoon lighting and a grand outdoor chandelier. She was so sweet to work with and was very responsive. I was planning the wedding from out of town so she met up with me at the venue the few times that I was in town so that we could play around with lighting ideas. We couldn't have been happier with how it turned out!

We got married at a venue with a beautiful outdoor space. Without lighting it is unusable at night because it is so dark, but ILD provided festoon lighting and it looked incredible. It was exactly what I had envisioned. By the time I arrived, everything was set up and ready to go. The service was impeccable and there were no hidden charges. Great value for this service. I can't wait to see the photos, because I know that the lighting will look awesome in the pics.

The lighting in the reception venue was perfect and exactly what we planned! I could not have been happier. However, the lighting in the tent was not at all what we planned and honestly a bit disappointing. ILD sent pictures of lighting in tents and we purchased lanterns, lighting believing it would look like the pictures. It did NOT!! I wished they would have told me along the way that I need more lanterns, more lighting, etc. to look like the pictures they had sent and to get the same effect rather than just letting me figure it out on my own at the reception. It was pretty pricey to not get what I thought I was.
