Parable Productions

The first time I watched my video I was devastated. I bawled my eyes out and had to compose myself before getting ahold of Brandon. I couldn’t believe how much they completely ignored what my husband and I asked for. I put too much trust in them to capture our special moments so we could enjoy our day without any worries. When my husband and I first reached out and spoke to Brandon, we told him that our main focus is our family. We want our wedding to be just as much about our family as it is about us. My husband and I even honored our parents and grandparents by having them walk down our aisle and share in our special day with us. I still to this day do not understand how the majority of all of our grandparents, parents, and even the bridal party were completely and entirely cut out of the film. Not even a single second of the majority of them were in the entire video and mere seconds of some. My heart was broken. A big selling point Parable Productions had was their drone. We expressed our excitement over it and how important it was to us. My husband and I were married on his father’s property. So much has changed and will continue to change as the years go by. We were so excited that we would be able to capture all of that on film and have that forever. By the time we celebrate our one year anniversary, the location we used for the ceremony is going to be a greenhouse. Never to be the same again. That’s what we told Brandon as we expressed how much we wanted it. Day of the wedding, Brandon is having to get ahold of me to let me know he would not be there but his wife would be. That’s completely understandable, she was very pleasant to work with, but there was no mention from either of them they were no longer full-filling the drone service. It wasn’t until one of us had brought it up. They did bring the drone by the next day, but the wedding was already taken apart and they only barely captured a shot of the pond and the treetops, not anything of the property itself. After telling Brandon of our disappointment at the video, he remade it “per my feedback.” As if we asked him to do anything different than what we originally and continuously asked for. It took them almost 18 weeks to finish our video when the contract said ‘up to 12 weeks.’ Sometimes things take a little longer, but they never gave us the courtesy of reaching out to us. After 17 weeks had passed, I finally reached out to make sure they hadn’t forgotten about us. Brandon told us to give him 4 more days at the latest. A couple days after that passed and we finally got the devastating video and had to wait an additional 5 days to get what we had originally asked for. We fully feel that he was more concerned with other projects than ours and just slapped the video together, reusing multiple shots multiple times just to get it finished. We feel we were very much ripped off and should have at least been reimbursed for the lack of drone footage. Hiring someone with a drone to shoot videos is quite expensive and made Parable Productions price easier to swallow. Those memories would have been precious to us as we could always look back on how the property used to be while also being able to reminisce about our special day. From an outsiders perspective, the video does have beautiful moments. As thankful as we are that we did choose to get a video, we don’t believe we made the right choice with who we chose to do it.
