But other than that, The White Room (Rooftop and Lounge) is a great place to get married. Great service, good food, and beautiful location.

ke with was helpful and friendly, and the venue was absolutely gorgeous the day of. After I initially toured the White Room, I knew there was no other place I would have my reception. I did the reception in the Grand Ballroom, and it was absolutely perfect. I didn't have any "bridezilla" moments at all working with Meghan & the White Room. So many services are included when you book with them--it is absolutely worth the cost. It made planning easier for me, which every bride wants. If I did everything over again, I would keep it exactly the same.

he classic and elegant style of the venue makes it perfect for any type of wedding. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Our wedding coordinator was Jen Givens and she did an amazing job. She was always available when I had a question and was very helpful with advice for the wedding. You are able to coordinate your own vendors or The White Room can coordinate them for you. They were very easy to work with and very pleasant. I would highly recommend them to anyone who asked.

te Room were always there for me. I moved back and forth from the east coast to the west coast and while being a full time college student, they made everything so simple and easy for me. Meghan always got back to me right away and the receptionst Hailee was there to answer questions for me. Not only is it an awesome venue but they provide amazing extras; sparkler light exits, trolley ride pick and drop off for guests! I had so many guest and friends come up to me and say that it was the best wedding ever. Thank you so much the everyone at the White Room and especially to Meghan!! You made it the best day of my life!

here are two floors that can be rented out simultaneously, but it was all managed very well, and we didn't run across the other party. A helpful hint for this venue -- it operates based on minimum catering orders since it's run by OC White's. The most expensive season is in the fall, it seems, with Saturday nights running highest. If you love this venue but have a limited budget, consider doing a Thursday evening wedding, getting wed in January, or if you can stand it -- see what's free four months out. I did the latter.

for a phenomenally beautiful sunset ceremony. The loft space, which we also had for the affair, was warm and inviting with its brick walls, french doors, columns, wood floors. My florist, Kristen Hendrix of A Happily Ever After Florist (reviewed separately) was easily able to transform this venue into one of elegance and romance given this great base. My guests are still raving about the food which was five star restaurant fare rather than catering hall food. Their set up and service was excellent as well. I'm not sure what other venues charge because, honestly, I didn't look any further but there is a fairly high minimum to pay whether you have 20 or 150 people. If you're on a budget and having a smaller wedding you might want to look for a place at which you just pay per head. But although my destination wedding dwindled to 50 by the end, the beauty, service, and food of The White Room was well worth it to me. My guests use the words - exquisite, magnificent, perfect - to describe my wedding! :)) I'd also like to review my wedding event planner, Meghan Berman, separately in this review. Fortunately, Meghan answered my inquiry and I felt an instant connection. I'm glad I went with my gut and started working with her. From start to finish she was a joy to work with. I never felt as if I were a bother and Meghan, ALWAYS pleasant and reassuring, handled every "problem" with ease and professionalism. She has a smile in her voice. Meghan even called me to let me know that I could reallocate funds to get "my money's worth'. She held my hand through it all and helped to make my wedding an awesome event! :) Get her if you can!

say after all the contracts were signed I did feel a little nickel and dimed for things so be prepared ahead to ask how much is this, is this inclueded(most of the time it is not)and that they charge tax and gratuity on EVERYTHING. We chose the place because we attended our friends wedding and everthing was stellar that time too. You do get what you pay for. Many of our guests told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to.

n the area but when I visited The White Room, I stopped shopping around as they offered everything that I wanted and so much more. My wedding coordinator was Meghan Berman. I honestly couldn't have asked for a more professional, kind, patient and absolutely lovable wedding coordinator! It can be very overwhelming to plan a wedding but Meghan was there to answer all of my questions, no matter how ridiculous, and help to contact me with the best vendors in town to make our wedding perfect. I live in Washington DC, so contacting vendors and planning a wedding from 5 states away could have been a complete disaster! However, there was not a moment that I was concerned about the planning. I knew that Meghan and The White Room staff would make sure that everything went seamlessly. I had my ceremony at The White Room as well as the reception. As I have a little bit of Type A personality in me, I had to tell myself to relinquish control and let Meghan and The White Room take care of the event. As fellow Type A's can attest, this can be a challenge, however, I can assure any new brides that The White Room staff and coordinators will make your day not only the most special and fun day of your life, but also a day where you can relax and enjoy all of the amazing moments without having to micromanage the night away :) I am so grateful to have found the absolute best venue for my wedding. I will cherish the memories of the night forever. Thank you so much to my great new friend Meghan, and the rest of The White Room staff.

00 guests in under 10 minutes) and it was hot when served! Everything ran very smoothly the day of the ceremony and they worked well with our other vendors so we didn't have to think about that. The only issues we had was the night of the rehearsal they asked if we wanted to move the ceremony outside on the roof since we had so many guests and it would be easier to set the room up for the reception. It is Florida in July so we did not even want to entertain that idea which was a little stressful. But they worked it out and it turned out beautiful.

as our coordinator . I admire her patients. In the last month I began to get worried about the little things. I feel like my husband and I called or emailed almost daily. Courtney came through and was very helpful. There was a time that I was worried about my local florist and getting contact, she even helped me with reaching out to her. The day of the ceremony I had nothing to worry about but to enjoy the experience. The loft was so gorgeous! I felt like I was married in a Fairy tale! I could not have wished for anything else!

I never once felt worried about a detail. They took care of it all! We had 150 guests, a day wedding on a Saturday and the room was a perfect size and everything flowed like a dream!

On the day of the wedding, the staff was helpful on making sure that I was taken care of, however, that is about where the positive comments stop on service. I am not originally from St. Augustine, and I had little to no help from my wedding manager through out the whole processes. She would take weeks to email me back, hardly ever returned my calls, kept us behind on payments due to her lack of organization, and left me a lot of organizing on my own at the last minute. She always had an excuse for not returning emails, but I missed out on tasting and other events at the venue due to poor communication. On the night of the wedding, hardly anyone ate cake or even grabbed their name places off the board because she was not helping our guests move along through the events. If I could do it over again, I'd still pick this venue because it is beautiful for an outdoor wedding, but just be prepared and get on your communication ASAP!

And they really care about what each couple is looking for on their special day. I loved the Loft/Rooftop space in particular because we got to use the beautiful indoor space for dinner, and the incredible rooftop for drinks and dancing. Our wedding day was drizzly and windy, and I was very worried about not being able to use the rooftop. But like everything else, the White Room took it in their hands without fuss and rented a stunning tent for the roof. It allowed us to still enjoy the outdoor space without a worry. Price wise, it's definitely a bit up there. But I would pay what I paid again for the high caliber party and service that I got. Most places at this level are probably even more expensive. My guests are still talking about how I had one of the best weddings they have ever been to! I was thrilled on my wedding day!

o make sure everything was going to work just right  When we first went to the White Room I was sold on beauty alone, but it was more than beauty that makes this place the perfect place for a wedding. We had our ceremony on the rooftop which made for an awesome backdrop. The theme of our wedding was vintage so the grand White Room was the best place to have our reception. We had fried chicken, mac and cheese, green beans, potato salad, cornbread, and blueberry cobbler on our menu. People are still talking about how great the food was and some even want the mac and cheese recipe. The service staff was also so pleasant and so nice to all the guests. Everybody was always smiling and asking if they could help. Meghan was also great in helping keep me calm the day of and made sure everything was perfect before, during and even after. She even made my plate for me! If you are looking for a wonderful place to have your wedding and reception, the White Room is awesome. I’m so happy I chose to get married here!!!

er took a fast turn toward cold and they quickly provided necessary heaters. The food was great and the venue was beautiful. It was verrry expensive for the quality overall. I think that part of the problem was that they were so efficient in answering all my questions that I had thought I had nothing to worry about, when in hindsight, I would have pushed to make things go in the direction that my husband and I wanted. We were originally told that family pictures would be taken directly after the ceremony and that the wedding coordinator would announce for them to do so. During the rehearsal the night before, that was changed to "You can do them later in the night." It caused the night to progress without another thought of those pictures, instead of getting them done first. I can't get that back and do not a single posed shot with either side of our families. We also heard from several vendors in our search that the White Room was extremely difficult for them to work with and set up at. This was true. There was a morning wedding before my Saturday night event and my vendors were told 1:45pm arrival time. My event began at 4:30 and they were not able to enter until 2:45pm. This cause them to not only wait an hour but the rush to get finished. Dinner was fantastic and not a harsh word said of the food quality (delicious)- however, my brother's table had half of the table served and half had to wait a significant amount of time for their food. 85% of the guest were completely finished with the meal and my father was making his speech when the other half of the table was finally served. This was the table with my brother, cousins, and maid of honor. The wine service that we paid extra for was seen only once at several of the tables. My husband and I were visiting the tables and were not given any direction of what time it was or when to make our way to cut the cake or toast. It was much less organized than we were led to believe. We were under the impression that our White Room coordinator would make all the scheduling and announcements throughout the night. The firework exit was very unorganized and was barely ready for us. Hors d'oeuvres and late night munchies- My husband and I were given a sample plate because we missed cocktail hour of course(which was great!) but it came after we had been served our salads. We chose french fries in a cone for a late night munchie and I did not even know that they actually made it out to the guests until I asked the next morning. All in all, it was a wonderful day and I would certainly recommend this venue to others. In the grand scheme, we had an amazing night- I just would like others to remember these things in planning their own event. Some of these things I wouldn't have known about if not told after the fact- which is nice that I was blissfully unaware. But I feel that I should share. Have somebody else there as your back up to remember the things you and your mother's scrambled wedding brains will forget or not think of.

entrees a week before my wedding and I was stuck because of the language in their contract. The beef was not prepared as I requested. They showed me nice table numbers in picture frames during the planning but they did not use them...they had folded pieces of paper on the table with the numbers. I was told that they would save planty of appetizers for the bride and groom but they gave us a small plate and not everything was on it. I regret using The White Room for my big day!!!

It was just one less thing to worry about on the day of the wedding. The food was absolutely delicious! And they even accomodated a request to get my husband's favorite wine for him. or rooftop.It was amazing.Jen was my event planner and she was the reason my reception was perfect.I must have sent her 100 emails, and everytime she responded immediatly.She was so willing to help me, and so proffesional.She was able to awnser all my questions and help with any suggestions.The food was awsome.The White Room holds a food tasting so you can try different foods, and some of their drinks.The food is made on site, and was fantastic.My guests are still talking about it.We had a sit down dinner.The servers were great,they mingled and were on top of everything.The venue itself is breathtaking.They include all furniture inside and on the rooftop, and it is beautiful.There are no hidden costs for furniture rental,tables and chairs,cake cutting,dishware,linens,clean up, or other fees that other venues charge.The space is so beautifuly decorated that you do not need to spend money on extra decorations.The inside were we had dinner had exposed brick,and you felt like you were in a amazing loft in New York City.The rooftop is amazing and they have the bar there.The views are unbelivable.You see the whole downtown and the river.My guests could not belive how amazing the whole reception was.The reception and venue felt like we were king and queen.The value of what you get is amazing.They have the best prices and it is worth every penny!During cocktail hour the servers passed around our signature drink,which everyone loved, and houdours.Everything had such an amazing flow.From cocktail hour,to inside for a butler passed seated dinner,toasts,cake cutting,to dancing.At the end of the night Jen arranged our grand exit.Everyone was escorted outside, and had sparklers lit while we got in our getaway car. Amazing.The White Room should be the only venue you look at and chose.I am telling you, I could not have asked for a more perfect choice!!We felt like royalty and the guests could not belive how amazing it was.They had every detail perfect.They were so knowledgable and proffesional.I recomend The White Room to everyone!!It really was perfect!!

r enough for pulling the Pronovias dress "Adela". It was SO flattering, in our budget, and it seemed as if the dress was made for me! It was the exact style I wanted and fit the "feel" of my venue perfectly. It is so timeless and classy, and I have received *endless* compliments on my dress. I would have never tried it on had it not been for Tara. Also, Tara helped me choose a gorgeous veil, took care of the bridesmaid dress and shoe order (for 9 bridesmaids that were mostly out of state!!!), and the the flower girl dress order. She was also responsible for submitting my measurements to the dress company and when my dress came in....it FIT like a GLOVE!!!! The only alteration I had was to bring up the hem a couple of inches! It was perfection! She was there during the fitting and offered some helpful suggestions (like double stick tape for my lacy cap sleeves) ect. She was also great about corresponding with me and keeping me in the loop with orders, via phone and email. I thought my wedding day was PERFECT, and one thing I did well in the planning process was choose GREAT people with great reputations. My vendors were EXCELLENT...and the White Room....they were among the BEST. Choose the White Room....and ask for TARA!!!!!!! :)

It really captured the simple beauty of the historic city and gave them more than just another wedding to attend. I can honestly say that the white Room dint just give my husband and i a memorable wedding. They gave it to all of our guests too.

s 2 job day I quickly realized was more than I could handle. Meghan Berman our event coordinator and The White Room staff stepped in and made it fantastic. Not only did the night go as smooth as possible, but they went out of their way to help us out. When my dad realized the battery in his camera remote was out, a staff member ran out to get a new one right in the middle of the party. That was more than we could have asked for. I had trouble letting go of the control for the night, but I was put at ease with Meghan and the staff and I was able to relax and have fun. Being the wedding planner I was so appreciative of Meghan's quick responses to all of my millions of questions I had the year prior to the event and she really made me feel that no question was too small or silly. From one wedding planner who has seen her fair share of events, good and bad, I highly recommend this facility if you are trying to figure out a place for your reception in St. Augustine, Florida. o do with money. Otherwiswe, it always took two emails and a phone call before I could get answers to my questions. That led to a little frustration before the wedding day. On the wedding day, the table cloths were not ironed. Even though it was mentioned to them prior to the wedding, they remained as is. I must say that once the wedding started they were very attentive and took care of everything. They worked well to make the evening go smoothly and it did. The evening was beautiful! The most positive thing I can say is that almost all of our guest said that the food was the best they ever had at a wedding. So, even though it was pricey and stressful leading up to the event, they made the event beautiful in the end.

I had emailed them saying I was unsure if they were within my budget - they said they could work with brides and their budgets. We looked online and thought we could make this work - they have all their prices (or so we thought) posted on their site - all it listed was a $40/person minimum for action stations - which we planned to spend more than that plus a bar. When we had the meeting we were shown around then sat down. We were told for the month we wanted there was a $12,000 minimum for food/drink. Didn't matter how many people you had (which we were looking at around 100 people). This was the minimum. But wait - if you spend $15,000 you have the room fee waived - which you will buy $15,000 on food bc either way you're paying that much might as well get the food for it. But don't forget that didn't include 22% gratuity and 6% sales tax. So, all together the MINIMUM you had to spend was just shy of $20,000. We all sat speechless and stunned. When I told her that was my budget for the entire wedding she responded with "have you considered getting married on a Friday?" which wasn't meant to be but in the moment felt very condescending. The place is nice and has a wonderful view - and I had a great time there as a guest. However, if I was going to spend THAT much on a reception it better be more elaborate than that. It just doesn't look like a $20,000 venue. Also, another interesting point - my dad's co worker had her wedding there 9 years ago for 80 guests. It cost her $1,800. As long as there are people willing to pay it I guess!

I've never seen a building so beautiful. The loft overlooking the bay is the most beautiful backdrop for a wedding. And the food is so delicious! My photographer said the food at our wedding was the most delicious food she has ever had at a wedding. I highly recommend The White Room! (PS: Ask for Jen!)

Unfortunitly it rained on wedding so we could not use the rooftop as planned but the staff moved everything so quick and quietly that my guests never noticed, and they let me make the final call instead of telling me what would happen. The over all cost wasn't that bad, and in all fairness we did opt. for the highest package they offered...and i was worth every penny. I really wish I had made my reception longer there, but the memories will never be forgotten.

Our guests could not stop appaulding the roof top! My husband and I are already trying to figure out how we can have another party in the Loft at the The White Room!!

From the exposed brick walls, floor to ceiling mirrors and curtains, a wall of windows overlooking the Matanzas Bay, and dark wood floors, this space can compliment any color scheme or design theme. There is also an intimate 3rd floor loft that is great for smaller affairs. If you are wanting to enjoy a great view, then the rooftop space is for you. It overlooks the St. Augusine marina, the bay and the newly renovated Bridge of Lions. Throughout the entire planning process, the staff at the White Room, especially Shannon Walters, were wonderful. They were able to answer any of our questions, settle our nerves, and handle any complications along the way. Come the day of our wedding, I knew that there was nothing to worry about. The food was amazing!! We did a buffett style reception, but they offer several different options to cater to everyone. All of our guests loved the potato martini bar (highly recommended). So if you are looking for a space that as character with elegance, then this is the venue for you.
