My husband and I really enjoyed working with Wes. For one, he is very reasonably priced and provides a style of photography we both like. For two, his personality worked well with mine, and as a bride, that is very important. I am a high-energy, high stress, in-charge, pushy individual and having vendors with a calming presence around me on my wedding day was key. When I first met with Wes, I warned him there may be times when I needed to tell him to back off with pictures, and he assured me I wouldn't even notice he was there (and he was right). We received our previews within a week of the wedding, and our full album in just under a month. I am truly greatful that I found Wes because he was a consummate professional who was fantastic to work with.

If there could be only one thing I recommend to couples, it would be to hire Wes Shin for photography! My husband and I aren’t big on taking photos- but let me tell you…. He made it SO WORTH IT. Not only did he make us feel comfortable in front of the camera, he helped direct poses and made it feel more natural, as well as creat EPIC photographs. He also takes the time to sit down with you and get to know you and your style and what’s important to you. Cannot go wrong with Wes!

Wes was a dream to work with. His work is beyond amazing and he makes everything feel so effortless. My husband and i don't take many photos in our everyday life and were worried about taking professional photos but Wes made everything so easy and comfortable. He answered any and all questions we had for him and was able to capture our special day through his stunning photos. Couldn't recommend Wes enough!

Wes is fantastic, and his photos are, too. The quality of the photos can’t be topped. And more so, his approach and techniques and accessory equipment used makes for most dramatic, magazine worthy photographs that will leave your jaw on the floor. He’s very kind, timely, professional, personable, and takes the opportunity to get to know both my wife and I as a couple, and individually, and he made our individual personalities and special love for each other show in his photos. Working with Wes was comfortable and felt natural. He made sure my wife and I focused on being present with each other on our special day and he let that intimateness shine through. Prepare to be blown away with his close up, abstract, and detail shots! Five stars isn’t enough!

Wes did an amazing job photographing our wedding. We found Wes through The Knot while researching vendors and were sold as soon as we saw his work. We are thrilled with the quality of our photos. We received nearly 700 photos in total and loved the variety of them. Some are more stylized, using light, depth, and perspective in creative ways. Some have a more traditional aesthetic but are just as stunning. We even asked him to take some pictures of the dessert table (the bride put it together), which also turned out beautifully. As a bonus, Wes was a pleasure to work with. He was very professional and organized. He helped us stay on track throughout the day and was able to offer insight during the planning process. We appreciated the genuine effort he made to get to know us. There were times during the wedding when he felt more like a guest than a vendor. The delivery of the photos also needs to be highlighted. Wes provides you with a link to your online gallery. There are high-resolution versions for prints and web-resolution versions for social media. This gallery allows you to order prints, thank you cards, albums, etc. It also allows you to save favorites and hide photos from public view. Basically, you can curate the photos you want to share with family and friends before sending out a link. Wes also keeps your photos stored on the cloud permanently if you lose or damage your computer or hard drive. We seriously cannot recommend Wes enough. We already plan to hire him for any future photo sessions.

One of the highlights of this crazy year (wedding planning during a pandemic) has been the opportunity to get to know and work with Wes. A friend highly recommended him, and we are so glad! From our first meeting over FaceTime, to our wedding day itself, Wes was a reliable and trusted part of our wedding planning process. Wes is super responsive to any and all questions, and was very quick to share teaser photos from our engagement shoot and wedding day (because he loves his work that much, we know he was up late/early editing!). From recommendations on engagement photo outfits (yes, we are THOSE people), to checking in on us on wedding week just to see how we were doing, Wes' passion, talent, and expertise are unmatched! We were very grateful for the opportunity to do engagement photos in advance of our big day. Wes agreed to meet us in one of our favorite places (the Outer Banks), and from the very first photo (which he graciously shared with us in the moment), made us feel confident, strong, beautiful, and totally at ease. We were thrilled with the engagement photos and it made us even more excited he would be there to share our wedding day. Wes is an absolute wizard in his ability to capture our wedding day's special moments- from a first look with the "girls", my dad, and even our beloved Pup, to our first look as bride and groom, and all the magical moments as newly husband and wife. The photos are treasures we will cherish forever! We cannot thank Wes enough or speak more highly of him, and we whole-heartedly recommend him to be your photographer.

My husband and I hired Wes for our original wedding date of 3/28/20 - obviously that didn't happen due to COVID - Wes worked with us and was so gracious and kind during the entire process. He shot our "minimony" on 6/20/2020, shot our engagement photos in June, 2019, and will also be shooting our larger ceremony on 2/20/2021. We couldn't be happier with Wes, and our photos, and experiences with him during multiple events and photoshoots. He truly cares about his couples, and takes the time to learn and fully immerse himself in their unique love stories. Wes has an amazing artistic eye and can take something as simple as a dart board and turn it into something magical. We cannot wait to work with Wes again in February and highly recommend him to any couple looking for a photographer to tell their love story. Hire him, you will not be disappointed.

From our initial consultation with Wes we knew we were going to go with him as the photographer for our wedding. He was very thorough in his approach, his catalog was amazing, and what struck us the most was his passion for not only photography but people also. He genuinely wanted his work to reflect the joy we felt on our wedding day and he definitely exceeded our expectations. There will be many challenging decisions throughout this process but if can give two tips to help everyone out: 1. Grooms, make sure everyone on your side gets their suits early! 2. Hire Wes!

Wes is pure talent! We spent time getting to know each other before the big day and that’s a rare treat. He is a delight to be around. He is a genius with all the different techniques he used to capture a photo. Worked well with the other vendors and you see that he truly enjoys what he does.

Wes is beyond amazing! From our engagement pictures to our wedding pictures I am blown away! He is an absolute magician when it comes to photography and lighting. He knows exactly what he is doing and his pictures are like art work! He’s so laid back and made my husband and I feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera! Wes is an incredibly talented photographer and has a keen eye for beauty within various aspects of weddings. I had a traditional South Indian wedding ceremony followed by a fusion Cuban-Greek themed reception. He was able to capture the vibrancy, familial traditions, sentimental emotions, laughter, and love from start to finish – leaving nothing behind in between. He was punctual, reliable, flexible (i.e. starting at 5:30AM and ending at 11:00pm!!), and super friendly. He made everyone feel at ease, being professional & “in the zone” while also blending right into the festivities. He worked with me and my fiancé before hand to figure out specific preferences and needs but was also able to implement his own style and creativity, to capture candid moments. Wes is extremely gifted and 100% dedicated to making your event come to life through his photography. I am beyond thankful for his comradery and artistic mastery, and will recommend him to everyone!

Absolutely amazing is probably the easiest way to describe Wes and his art. Hands down, Wes was the best decision we made in regards to our wedding vendors. His talent and knowledge of photography is second to none and you can really see this passion showcased in his art. Not only is Wes an amazing artist, but he was absolutely wonderful to work with. Wes is truly the best!! Working with him for both our engagement shoot and our wedding was such a wonderful experience. Wes followed us on hikes and was even willing to wade through water and get a little dirty to help us get the perfect shots. His artistry and professionalism are really top notch. He's also just a great guy to hang out with. He's wonderful to have around and really takes time to get to know you. I can't recommend Wes enough! My husband and I were incredibly honored to have Wes as our wedding videographer. He was so kind, respectful, and personable. He actually arrived an hour earlier than I asked to get more shots and meet everyone, which I thought was really sweet and considerate. He and our photographers worked really well together, too. The video we received left us completely speechless! It was beautiful and perfectly captured our wedding day from start to finish. I have probably watched it three or four times every day for the last week and laugh and cry through it every time! His editing, music choice, composition, all of it captured the feeling of the day beautifully. It was perfect (and extremely high-quality!!) and we love it. I can’t say it enough. Watching it makes me feel like I am reliving that day over again. :) Thank you, Wes, for capturing our favorite day. It was an honor to have you as our videographer! Wes was great. He took the time to get to know my husband and I before the wedding so he could ensure that he captured our personality and what we wanted in the photographs. He was very attentive and you can see the passion he has in what he does. Wes is highly recommended.

Wes was literally the best we could have hoped for in a photographer! From the moment we spoke, he wanted to meet in person to get to know us as a couple. Then he wanted to do our engagement photos a little differently which we were all about. He is definitely creative and willing to go outside the box! The day of the wedding he went all out and use different gadgets on us to have the most beautiful wedding photos. Couples, you will not regret going with Wes, I can guarantee it!!!

Wes is SO. MUCH. FUN. He is literally hilarious and so personable. I am not a photogenic person, and am very camera shy but he made me look so beautiful in the teaser photos (oh yeah, bonus – you get teaser photos day of – outstanding!) Everything seemed just easy and effortless with him, and he has an obvious passion for what he does which is so refreshing. He also has experience so he knows exactly when to shoot certain items (i.e. classic wedding dress pics, ring pics, etc.) and does a great job capturing the little details of the day. I am so glad we picked Wes as our photographer!

From casual pre-event meetings to discuss vision/logistics and just to let everyone get to know each other, to quick and effective communication throughout, to the GLORIOUS photos... I just can’t read about him enough. He was punctual and his vibe was relaxed, excited, and 100% invested. He was a joy to be around on our special day. I am going to try to put the level of service and beauty that Wes provided us with his photography into words. Even before our wedding, Wes met up with us multiple times to get to know us on a personal level and really make sure he knew what we wanted for our big day. He never tried to push his ideas on us and gave us lots of helpful advice on other things like timelines and lighting. All the while, making sure he was meeting our expectations. Wes showed up early and was able to capture all the pre wedding moments, without being overbearing. He did an amazing job with time management and getting the shots we wanted, and even a lot we didn't even think of. He was able to pull us aside for some gorgeous wedding photos just as the sun was setting. His low key vibe and professionalism definitely fit our special day. And he stayed all the way til the end of our reception! The photos turned out way better than we ever could have imagined. We knew we were going to get some great photos because of our meetups and his extensive portfolio. What we got was something more phenomenal than our wildest imagination. I highly recommend him as a photographer.

Why can't we give six stars on The Knot!? Wes Shinn Photography was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding! Neither myself nor my fiance (now husband! :) ) had been to many weddings locally and didn't have any connections to wedding photographers. We searched for a few on The Knot and after reading a few reviews for Wes, we knew that we had struck gold. Not only were ALL the reviews amazing, his photography spoke for itself! His pictures weren't posed, stock images. They were creative, candid shots that showed people in love. After reaching out to Wes, we met at a local coffee shop and chatted for a bit. Hearing Wes talk about why he enjoys capturing weddings, we immediately knew that we had found what we had been looking for. We booked Wes and met a few more times before our wedding day to take engagement photos, have a walk-through of our venues, and go over the agenda of the entire day. Each time we met with Wes, my now-husband and I left feeling even more excited to have Wes there on our special day. Our wedding could not have been more magical. Having Wes take our photos just felt right. He went above and beyond to capture every moment we asked for and so much more. He somehow managed to take pictures of both my father and I walking down the aisle at the same time as my groom's first look when the doors opened. To put it simply, Wes is professional and passionate about what he does. He mentioned feeling honored to be welcomed into our families. This just shows that he knows the gravity of the situation when it comes to capturing once in a lifetime moments. Is there a special button on The Knot where we can make an exception to give Wes 10 stars?! Everything was wonderful from start to finish. From the initial email to setting up our first meeting, and throughout the planning process all the way to our wedding day, Wes' genuine enthusiasm for his work and what he wanted to capture let us know that he was the right photographer for us. We went through so many photographers, but no one's style appealed to us. We wanted someone with a creative eye for depth and color, and a unique style that would remain timeless. As soon as I saw Wes' work, I sent it over to my now-Hubby, and we already knew. His work is amazing, and once you meet him, you can instantly tell how passionate he is about his work and how he enjoys capturing these moments for people. His excitement is unmatched! Wes is also very thorough and consistent with his communication. We really liked his professionalism - he was very prepared (scoped out the venues early for lighting, ideas, etc.) and he was arrived early on our wedding day. And his prices are very reasonable. I am so thankful I found Wes for our wedding. Pictures were one of the most important things to me when it came to our wedding, and Wes more than held up to my high expectations. He did a phenomenal job with communicating prior to our big day and took a lot of time out of his life to meet with us several times prior to our wedding day to get to know us and for us to become comfortable with him. He blew us away with the time and effort he put into our engagement session and rehearsal dinner and turned our pictures around in a matter of a couple of days. His passion and love for photography clearly shine through in his work, and am so thankful that we found and selected Wes to capture our special day. The pictures he took on our wedding day were absolutely perfect and we could not have asked for anything more. Furthermore, what you get for his charges are more than well worth it. We thought Wes was awesome. Extremely professional while also displaying an obvious passion for photography. Wes is an amazing photographer! My husband and I were married April 14 2018 and the photos Wes took exceeded our expectations. He has a wonderful eye, especially in capturing sunset landscapes. The ones he took of us during sunset are some of our most favorite pictures. Wes is very professional and wanted to get to know us before the wedding in order to capture our personalities.
