She has written about weddings for more than a decade, both in New York and Washington, DC. Kim loves guiding couples through their wedding planning journey, and making the process stress-free and fun.

A New York native, Kim currently resides in the suburbs of Washington, DC with her husband and two children. When not scrolling through Instagram for the newest and latest in the wedding world, Kim enjoys baking, yoga, listening to podcasts, and rocking out to Hamilton with her kids.

Experience

As a child, Kim dreamed of becoming a CNN news anchor. After beginning her career in television journalism, Kim quickly pivoted to magazine and digital media with a particular focus in service journalism. She interned at Washingtonian magazine and was soon managing the publication’s fact-checking department. It was at Washingtonian that she started writing about weddings and loved how the subject matter combined many of her interests—fashion, music, decor, food, relationships, and more.

After receiving her masters degree from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism in New York, Kim landed a job as an assistant editor at Conde Nast’s Brides Local magazines and Brides.com, where she worked for five years, eventually becoming the publication’s associate fashion editor. Kim then returned to the DC area and Washingtonian, where she was the magazine’s associate bridal editor.

Education

Kim is a proud graduate of Williams College in Western Massachusetts (Go Ephs!), where she majored in English. While in college, Kim interned at News 12 Long Island and Good Morning America. She also spent a semester at Boston University’s Washington Journalism Center, where she covered politics for the Keene Sentinel and interned at Hearst-Argyle Television.

Kim also has her Masters of Science degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, with a concentration in magazine journalism.

I know it’s totally overplayed, but I’m a sucker for “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey. It was the last dance song at my wedding and I’ll never forget that moment.
