Libby McCarthy is an urban planner turned writer who splits her time between the East Coast and her adopted home of France. After completing internships in city planning, she transitioned into editorial positions focused on sustainability, fashion, lifestyle, and travel. Libby has written for The Knot, Brit + Co, The Nest, and Food Network. When she's not on the hunt for the latest trends, you'll likely find her plotting her next adventure or nose deep in a book.

Experience

Following graduation, Libby worked as a Planning Intern for both the City of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and the City of Portland, Maine. She was then hired as an Editorial Assistant for The Knot. After this position, Libby started freelance writing for The Knot, Brit + Co, and The Nest. She also took on an Editorial Assistant position for Sustainable Brands. In 2018, Libby assumed a Sustainability Communications Coordinator role for sustainability consulting group, Quantis International.

Education

Libby received her dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Environment, Society, Sustainability and Sociology from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada. She attended University College London for her Master of Science in Sustainable Urbanism.
