Carli Lloyd Marries Brian Hollins in Intimate Beach Wedding in Mexico

Marriage goals! Olympian Carli Lloyd is officially married to her high school sweetheart, Brian Hollins, she confirms exclusively to The Knot.

The bride and groom exchanged vows on Friday, November 4, in Puerto Morelos, Mexico, before 75 of their closest friends and family members. The intimate ceremony took place beachside along the picturesque Mayan Riviera.

Lloyd, 34, looked stunning in a strapless gown from couture bridal designer Matthew Christopher's fall 2016 collection. Her five bridesmaids donned Amsale dresses from Bella Bridesmaids.

The self-proclaimed "low-key bride" opted for an easy-going, destination wedding, which she previewed to The Knot in a November 2015 interview.

“I’m not really that difficult. I just want to have a good time with everybody, I just want to have a good night,” Lloyd said at the time. “I want my hair and makeup to look great [and] my dress to be beautiful. But other than that, I’m not too particular.”

Prior to the wedding, the couple's photographer, Mike Morby of Morby Photography, captured a serene, seaside shot of the couple on Thursday. In the sweet engagement session, the future spouses stare lovingly into each other's eyes as the sun dips below the horizon.

Hollins, a professional golfer, proposed to his love of 15 years in January 2013. He surprised the superstar soccer player with a cushion-cut engagement ring that was set on a triple-shank, diamond band.

The duo enjoyed an extended engagement, choosing to marry after the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where Lloyd competed with the United States Women’s National Team. The bride was named 2015 FIFA Women’s Player of the Year, and she’s in the running to defend her title as this year’s winner.
