The actor opened up about his relationship status during an appearance on CBS Mornings in June 2024. "This is a time where life is moving so fast that I don't even know if I could bring someone into it…in a healthy way, even if I tried," he told host Gayle King. When King prodded that he could for the "right person," he admitted that he's not "chasing love" but would be open to it if the opportunity arose.

"If love comes and hits me in the face and knocks me over, I welcome it with open arms because that's something I really want," he explained, adding that he dreams of having a family one day. "You know, it's like—even just being with my niece and nephew today, it's like, I really want kids."
He continued, "I really want that phase of life. It's not far away. And at the same time, I realize [that] it's going to take a very specific type of person to navigate this [lifestyle]. It's a lot."

Glen Powell's first notable girlfriend was Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev. Whispers of romance first picked up in 2017 when they were seen ringing in the New Year at a Texas party with friends. Just a few weeks later, Powell attended the premiere of Dobrev's movie xXx: Return of Xander Cage. Then, not only did they attend a Golden Globes after-party together, they also dressed as Mia and Sebastian for Dobrev's La La Land-themed birthday party.
In July 2017—around the time they were photographed kissing at Julianne Hough's wedding to Brooks Laich—a source confirmed their relationship to E! News. "Nina and Glen are dating. They were friends and it turned into something more a little while ago," the insider said. "They like each other and are seeing where it goes. Nina was just in a serious relationship so she's being careful, but Glen is the best to her and treats her so well. They laugh all the time! They are enjoying each other's company and the summer together so far. Both Glen and Nina are relationship kind of people."
Alas, the pair ultimately split later that fall due to their busy filming schedules. They maintain a friendly relationship to this day, though, and have been seen interacting at various events following their brief romance. Then, two years later, the pair posed for a photo with Dobrev's current boyfriend, snowboarder Shaun White, and her Vampire Diaries co-star Paul Wesley at the Omega Masters. In November 2018, a source told Us Weekly that Glen Powell and Renee Bargh had been dating for six months. Just before the news dropped, the actor and Australian TV host were seen together at his '80s-themed 30th birthday party (which was also attended by Dobrev). Not much else is known about their relationship, as they kept it fairly low-key.
Things ultimately fizzled out after a few months, and in 2019 Bargh confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that she and Powell were no longer together. "I am currently single. A good Aussie boy would be great, so if you know anyone throw them my way," she told the outlet.
Gigi Paris

Glen Powell's most recent girlfriend was model Gigi Paris. Fans began speculating they were dating after the two enjoyed a romantic vacation to Mexico in 2020, but they didn't hard-launch their relationship on Instagram until the following year.
Throughout their courtship, the pair were vocal supporters of each other. In August 2022, Powell told People that his girlfriend was loving his viral TikTok fame following the infamous shirtless beach scene in Top Gun: Maverick. "My girlfriend [Gigi Paris was] the first one to send me all the thirst trap TikToks that have come from it, which is all very flattering," he said. "My family and my girlfriend, they know how much this movie means to me and how much the cast means to me. Especially after we didn't know if we were going to get to have a premiere or put it out in theaters, to have that celebration together, especially with my family who sacrificed so much for me to even pursue this dream, [was] incredible."
Paris also shared her praise for the actor and his blockbuster film on Instagram after its release. "I can't tell you enough how special this movie is. Please RUN to see Top Gun Maverick, May 27th," she wrote in a now-deleted post. "I always thought @glenpowell was a little crazy for his obsession with all things @topgunmovie but now that I've seen it…I get it. Fangirling for life. So proud of you, Hangman 🤍."
In early 2023, though, sources confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that Powell and Paris went separate ways. "Glen Powell and his (now ex) girlfriend Gigi Paris broke up in early April. The breakup was amicable," the insider revealed.
Sydney Sweeney

Around the same time that Glen Powell and Gigi Paris broke up, fans theorized that he was engaged in a fling with his Anyone But You co-star Sydney Sweeney (who is currently engaged to Jonathan Davino). Rumors hit a fever pitch amid the actors' fiery chemistry on red carpets and in behind-the-scenes videos from the movie set—but this Glen Powell relationship was simply a rumor.
An anonymous source told People that there was no infidelity on set, further adding that Powell and Paris' relationship ended due to their demanding careers "Gigi and Glen had broken up several times. They had been on the rocks since Top Gun came out. Gigi was never happy with the long-distance filming and when she came to Australia [where Powell was filming Anyone But You] they both decided to break up for good," they explained. Separately, another source said, "It wasn't about infidelity. She's on different coasts modeling, he's on different coasts filming. When she left, they were on great terms."
As for those who were convinced Powell and Sweeney were a little more than friends? The insider chalked it up to their acting chops. "They're filming a movie that's a romantic comedy!" they said. "It's like when people say about movie stars, 'Oh, they have such good chemistry.' It's just their job. They're friends that met on set. They're costars."
