I don't know what your level of planning expertise is, but I can tell you this. Hiring someone to oversee the details of your wedding the day of (including a few days ahead of) your event is well worth the memories you'll make instead of the h...assles you'd deal with otherwise.
Leading up the the day of the event, you'll meet with one of Event Directives staff who will meticulously go through all of the details of your plan from timelines to names and pronunciations. Every single one of your vendors will know your wedding coordinator by the night of the event and will have strict instructions not to bother you the day or two before the event, so that you can take the time to enjoy your family, your guests, and most importantly, your new spouse!
There WILL be something that comes up during the rehearsal, or the ceremony, or the reception that needs quick action or correction, and you will rest assured that your coordinator will either not let you know anything is wrong, or will just be there to smooth things over when needed.
Even with our wedding very well planned and coordinated, we had a special dance arranged with the brides sister and the father of the bride, an occasion the sister of the bride never got to have. Unbeknownst to another family member, they thought it was open dancing. When faced with having to ask a family member to please leave the dance floor, believe me you'll be relieved you can send someone else to do it!
Event Directive was incredible and whether you use them, or someone else, I highly recommend having a day-of coordinator!
Big shout out to Jessica Ray who was a rock star for us, even 7 months pregnant! People still ask who the pregnant lady was that was keeping everyone in check all night, and we're so glad we had you! Thanks!
