Hi, this is DJ Jon, owner of Event Mix DJ. I appreciate you taking the time to visit my page. For most people, planning a wedding is uncharted territory and can be daunting. You want to research as much as possible in order to get the most for your money. You may have heard the horror stories from friends, or your wedding planner about typical "Spotify" DJs, who charge a couple thousand, but underperform. I heard of one who had a computer with a CD drive that literally inserted CDs in order to play each song. Countless times, I hear about DJs who start a playlist and walk outside to smoke for an hour. The bottom line is, you get what you pay for and proper budgeting is definitely something to consider. At some point in the evening, the "fun-ness" will fall on the shoulders of your entertainment vendor and if they don't have it, your party will suffer. I don't know how many times I hear about clients, who had made the mistake of exhausting their budget so there was little left for entertainment and their event was unsuccessful, due to the quality of the DJ. My goal for clients is all about a successful event. One, where everyone has the time of their life, which in tern, means the client is happy. I aim for "happiest". In my experience, your guests are the key to making the party successful, so, to me that means taking care of them as well as the client. edding being on an island in Maine had a ton of logistics not typical to weddings. Between traveling, taking a ferry to Islesboro, setting up 4 separate sound set-ups, and all the hard work he put in, he made it extremely easy on us and was a constant source we could depend on. His performance was freaking awesome. He set up for our ceremony, cocktail, dinner, and reception/party (4 spots). So many of our guests came up to us praising how great he was: he got everyone dancing, he worked with one of our best friends a sax player on a set together, and was entertaining and kind to all our guests and other staff On top of your exceptional talent and skill as a DJ and all the logistics he managed, his presence as a kind, caring, and a joyful person made us enjoy the moments even more and it was really nice having him part of our celebration. We look forward to seeing Jon at one of his performances/gigs in Portland or elsewhere in the future!

ance floor full all night. He was also a pleasure to work with in the months leading up to the wedding, providing great advice, responding quickly, and taking our requests into account. The ages of our group ranged from 20 to 70 and there was really something for everyone. He was incredibly kind and attentive to all our guests. This was the best vendor we hired for our wedding by far. If you are getting married in Maine, there is no better option than DJ Jon. We will recommend him without hesitate to every friend and family member in Maine for years to come!

To this day my husband is sad we didn’t somehow record the whole set from our reception because the way Jon mixes together older classic dancefloor jams and today’s hits is just so impressive. The video we have of our guests on the dancefloor really says it all, we danced our butts off. I’m SO glad we hired Jon for our wedding, I just wish we had another occasion for him to DJ a party for us. We could not recommend him more. hen told, DJ Jon to turn down the volume, nothing was done. Requests from the Bride and from the Wedding Planner were similarly ignored. He only seemed interested that the younger guests were having a good time dancing and older guests could wear earplugs (he literally offered them to me!). I would not recommend DJ Jon!

d groom and everyone who was dancing and having a good time. You probably couldn't see my smile through my mask when we spoke. I did turn the volume down, when you asked me to and was surprised that you kept sending people over, so I kept turning it down more. I'm used to this kind of tug of war with the volume. When it's not your favorite song it's too loud and when it is your favorite song, its not loud enough! Other guests were telling me to turn it up, and I actually had to tell them I was asked to turn it down. The only time I ignored you was for your request for cheeseburger in paradise, because I knew you would love it loud. And I was right. You seemed to enjoy that, so I was really glad. Then i was asked to turn it down, with some of Mary Kate and Josh's (the bride and groom) requests. I was very happy that both of them and many guests clapped at the end and gave me very nice compliments after. Not to mention the fact that the entire rest of the wedding went flawlessly. I thought your speech was great. One thing I would like to point out is that the table in the other room, where older guests went to sit when they were done dancing after about 20 minutes was literally 6 feet from the sound system. Through the thin barn wall, it could have seemed loud at any volume especially for a quiet conversation. I figured this out later when I read your review. In the future at that venue (Tops'l Farm), I will have to remember that with that setup, the entire adjacent room turns into a bass trap and plan accordingly, or at least warn guests that they are sitting in the hot spot! I wish you had a better experience, and I know nothing I say will probably change your mind about it, but please know that I am sincere. - we cannot think of a better person for the job, and we cannot recommend him highly enough. So when we say DJ Jon is the best, we really mean it! He kept the dance floor packed and played excellent music, and we heard many rave reviews from our guests – one even commented, “I’m dancing more at your wedding than I did at my own!” Jon really knew what he was doing, created a wonderful dancing experience, and knew what we and our guests wanted even better than we did. Jon was also very easygoing and fun to meet with. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced, and lets his work speak for itself (rather than using a microphone a lot, like some other DJs). Near the end of the reception, he had all our guests gather around us as we slow danced to one of our favorite songs, and he recorded it for us – this was one of our favorite memories from our reception that Jon made possible. We hope to attend another wedding where he is the DJ again soon! Without a doubt, he was the perfect choice for us.

t day, I mentioned how great it would be if we would be able to find a DJ that made us dance that much for our wedding. So I found his contact information, emailed him and BAM - it was locked and loaded. He responded right away and was very communicative from there on. It has been over a month since our wedding and at least once a day I hear from one of our guests mention how great our DJ was. From the VERY first song, to the last song (over 3 hours) - all of our guests were on the dance floor. Jon played a wide variety of music from all genres, which kept everyone dancing. He was so perceptive of the dance floor, and read the crowd perfectly. When he could feel the floor winding down from one song, he would immediately transition to another tune that would blow everyone away. I truly do not have enough good things to say about him… he really made our wedding feel like one big party, which was exactly what we were looking for. When anyone asks me what the best part of the wedding was, it is and always will be the dancing. It is a rare opportunity to be able to dance and let loose with all of your family and friends and DJ Jon was able to make that happen. You will not regret the decision using him as your DJ - he is an absolute master.

Many music / DJ companies now have multiple DJ's working for them and you are not guaranteed to work with a specific person, just who they have available. 2) Jon is professional, friendly, well spoken and very polished in appearance. 3) He is easy to work with before and during the event. 4) He listens to your needs and wants and follows through with them. 5) He is able to read the crowd and get people up dancing!!! No matter the age of guests and if it is a small event. We hired Jon to play the ceremony music as well as at the wedding reception. He exceeded my husband and all of our guests expectations!!!! Our wedding was on the smaller size of 80P and honestly, he had almost everyone on the dance floor the entire time. We needed a bigger dance floor!!!
