e added into our headcount. We were not issued an apology, as I guess we were told guests took more than they should have. But I don't see how we can monitor that? I thought that would be the caterers job. I am not saying I don't recommend them, but I would for sure make it clear that you will have enough food for all guests!

g. They totally met all of our expectations and then some. They were courteous when we called with questions, made suggestions if we were unsure about something, were very reasonable for per plate costs and the day of the wedding they went above and beyond with customer service. We had repeated comments from our guests that it was hands down some of "THE best food" at a wedding they had ever had. Can't thank the staff at McElroys enough for helping make the wedding day for our daughter and new son-in-law even more special. Would HIGHLY recommend this catering company!! :-)

pensive place settings we ordered they brought the cheap styrofoam ones with plastic knives and forks. This made our reception look more like a picnic than a formal dinner. We brought up the issue and they told us they would make a revised bill. When we got the bill they only changed the price of the settings and did not compensate anything else (they were very thankful that we didn't make an issue out of it). We sent an email back right after saying we were a little disappointed that they did not compensate for their mistake and they did not reply for 1 month. When they did reply, they seemed very frustrated by the fact that we were asking for compensation, and were very pushy about getting the payment (after it had taken them a month to reply to us) and only took off $100, stating that they "already took off the difference for the place settings". So, our final revised bill had a reduction of $100, but then they added in $100 for gratuity which wasn't on the bill before. So, as long as there are no mix-ups made for your dinner you will have a great experience.

f meals we requested such as vegan and gluten free meals in addition to more traditional meals. We took a look at their website to come up with some ideas and they took it from there coming up with our menus for the duration of the caterings. The turnaround time was quick as we needed catered meals for 6 days in a row. The food was always on time and kept hot even in the cold temperatures in Iowa at that time. The cost was more than reasonable and the caterers were friendly and cheerful. If you are looking for a caterer with good food at good prices you don't need to look any further than McElroy's Catering.
