OUR METHOD & APPROACH We strive each day to create photographs that reflect the beauty in both the world around us and the people who we get the honor of photographing. We want each image to embody an aspect of fine art that each family would be proud to pass down from generation to generation. Photography captures moments that might only last a second, but documents them for a life time. Those are the moments that we hope to capture - the ones that emerge effortlessly and authentically. We strive to create beautiful photographs straight from our cameras and capture the moments just as they unfold before us. The inspiration for the name originated from Luke 13 where Jesus described Heaven to his disciples: "It is like a mustard seed which a man took and sowed in his field; it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air came to find rest in the shade of its branches." These words describe the experience we want to create with every single client we photograph - a restful experience where our focus is on capturing moments in lives that are ever changing and growing. We selected an intimate wedding package for our 15-count garden party wedding. The booking process was user-friendly and paired well with my a la carte mindset — super easy to add on additional time, bridals, etc. Ashley is an excellent communicator and very well organized. She anticipated our needs and queries. I felt well-informed throughout the process (and almost like she was reading my mind at times!). We fell into a communication lockstep, which was most appreciated.
Allyn is the whole package — a true artist and an altogether lovely person. She is incredibly professional, perennially cheerful, and personable. She utilizes topnotch interpersonal skills and EQ to connect with clients. Her verbal affirmations and visible excitement increased my confidence during bridals. Neither my husband nor I are spotlight people, yet we neither looked nor felt stiff or awkward during the wedding day. Allyn’s warmth and demeanor made us feel calm, comfortable, and at ease throughout. Sessions are time-efficient (yay) and well-executed (double yay), but also super fun (triple yay)!
The images we received are absolutely stunning. Our favorites are the unscripted, intimate moments — a shared giggle here, a forehead kiss there — that are beautiful yet feel so very “us.” We were also surprised and delighted by the unexpected gems of our dearest loved ones living in the moment! The collection is a treat and a true narrative. The images tell the story of a perfectly elegant, auspicious day iced with bubbly effervescence. Floating away on love, joy, or champagne? All of the above. Allyn captured it perfectly. We look forward to reminiscing for many years to come!

When choosing a photographer one thing I was very nervous about was choosing a photographer that could not only take great outdoor photos but also indoor, since we were doing the traditional church setting. Allyn and her team went above and beyond. They were able to capture the beauty of both the indoor and outdoor spaces without making the indoor photos feel dark and cramped, and by not just making all the indoor photos black and white.
Furthermore, I would highly recommend Allyn. Her upbeat and loving personality made taking photos (something I often dread doing) such a fun and uplifting experience. I cannot express how highly I would recommend her as a photographer.

We had Jess for our engagement session and both Kat and Jess for our wedding. To begin, I cannot speak highly enough regarding their punctuality and professionalism. Moreover, both a so personable! My husband and I had never had professional photographs taken before our engagement session, so we were both a little nervous. Jess treated us like family from the start, and helped us both relax and just have fun! We felt like it was just the two of us out there.
Our wedding was scheduled for late May, and with the COVID-19 pandemic, it was cancelled two months prior. We were heartbroken, but also concerned about rescheduling and deposits. The Mustard Seed gals took all the stress out of that! They stayed on standby for our original wedding date, and contacted us every couple weeks just to touch base. They promised it would be no issue if we had to reschedule. And we were thankful they were so flexible, because one week before our original wedding date, we decided to move forward with a zoom wedding and the Mustard Seed gals were ready to
step up and be there!
After getting the jitters out at our engagement session, our wedding was the most fun we could have ever had! Kat and Jess felt more like our wedding guests than our photographers. We were so happy to have them both there! It was a night we will never forget, and their photographs captured every one of our favorite moments, and then some! After the fact, Ashley helped us organize our wedding album and made all the edits we requested in the photographs. Ashley was so easy to reach and quick to respond with any questions and all requests!

of the way from engagement photos, to bridal portraits, to boudoir photos and the wedding day. The editing, finishing, and number of photos exceeded my expectations. They helped me look my best for the camera and even made the experience enjoyable for my husband! Planning the shot list and executing it on the wedding day was extremely organized and not rushed. They always made me feel at ease and had fun with me during our sessions. I received several compliments from my wedding party on how easy the photos were to take on the wedding day. The credit is due all to Kat and Jess and their team. Their work is consistently flawless and their sweet personalities lift you up.
Customer service is sometimes lacking in the bridal industry but that is absolutely NOT the case with Mustard Seed. Even though Kat and Jess own and manage the studio, they always responded promptly to any calls or texts. Their entire team’s energy is so positive and professional. We had some issues with my videographer overstepping boundaries (getting in front of them to get video shots and not following church guidelines). Mustard Seed Photography handled those challenges very professionally and managed to get all the pictures that were important to my groom and I. Also, they were extremely prompt on delivering fully edited albums after each of our sessions.

nt photos and she ran with them and delivered! She immediately had several locations in mind and didn't mind traveling far and wide for the perfect spot. She made the experience so much fun and allowed the love my fiancée and I have for each other shine through in every photo. She captured many deep, passionate moments and even allowed us to get some awesome shots with our two bulldogs! Everything flowed so well and nothing was too posed; she just allowed us to interact the way we do and turned it into an amazing photo. Her prices are reasonable and she is creative and so fun to work with. I cannot wait to see how she does my wedding!
