The Chocolate Rose

The most delicious cupcakes of my life!! We took a chance for our socially distanced last minute wedding- we ordered them just based on reviews. They were Spectacular!! Delicate Butter cream succulents atop Lemon-lemon mouse and Chocolate Cannoli cupcakes were sheer perfection- artistic and delicious. I wish we could order them to SF right...now.

Right of the batt I am not a cake person, but OH MY GOD! The cakes made by Vanessa are to die for. The cake itself was beautiful! We were so happy to be able to choose three unique flavors! The cake went so fast that there was none left to even take home! Luckily Vanessa and her shop make a 1 year anniversary cake for us.... we got married a month and a half ago and are already looking forward to that day!

We recently used The Chocolate Rose for our wedding cake. Vanessa did an amazing job. The cake was stunning but mostly importantly it was delicious. We had three flavors and there were all incredible. Vanessa is very helpful. Her sense of design and attention to detail are terrific. I recommend her without hesitation.

The Chocolate Rose was the perfect match for our wedding day, we chose a dessert bar theme and the desserts exceeded our expectations. We met with Vanessa early on for a tasting and we were blown away by the quality and taste of the cakes, especially the GF cake. We chose a selection of cupcakes (the red velvet GF was the best!), smore's cones, key lime tarts and chocolate covered strawberries and our guests raved how wonderful they all tasted. My only complaint is that we should have ordered more because they were so good! Vanessa went above and beyond and I would highly recommend The Chocolate Rose!

Vanessa was a perfect choice from the get go. We were working on a tight timeline and she was always easy to communicate with. She executed our cake and cupcake choices beautifully and they were absolutely delicious. I plan to use Vanessa again in the future for smaller requests (since I hope to not have to get married again) but would recommend her to anyone looking for a great, professional baker that truly listens and delivers!

There are no words to describe how amazing the cake was from The Chocolate Rose!!! Vanessa took the time to ask my husband and I questions and find out about us and who we are and she incorporated that into pur cake. We knew the cake was going to be beautiful and delicious, but we were not prepared for what we saw at the reception....everyone was in amazement with the cake, it was the focal point of the room, we are still receiving compliments on it, even the venue said it was the most beautiful cale they have seen there. I like to say that it wasnt a cake, it was a work of art, We actually didint even want to cut it lol. Thanks Vanessa, for making our day perfect!

The Chocolate Rose came highly recommended to me by the Popponeseset Inn, and what a great recommendation it was! We began planning our Cape Cod wedding from half way across the country, which was not an easy task, and Vanessa immediately put us at ease. She was informative, helpful, and extremely kind. We were impressed with her experience and knowledge in the "industry." Vanessa is not just a baker. She is truly an artist who helped create a gorgeous, unique, and tasty cake that exceeded our expectations. She has creative ideas and was beautifully skilled at her craft. Our cake was three tiered and each layer was something different and deliciously exciting. Guests were raving about all the different flavors and enjoyed sampling each kind. She even made a yummy gluten free cake for guests who had a GF allergy. She was really able to showcase her versatile style! We cannot wait to eat our wedding cake all over again on our first anniversary, as Vanessa bakes a fresh cake, free of charge, for us to enjoy in a years time. I recommend Vanessa without reservation!

I had been looking forward to our cake since the taste testing. It was as good as I remembered. Vanessa was great to work with and made the cake look just how we wanted it to. It was a great size and bigger than I expected (we had it for 75 people since we got a sheet cake for 50 to provide a different flavor and save money). Even though the contract had the sizes, I was nervous it would be small. We were lucky to even have some left over to take home with us. She also worked with us to provide some cookies to help out with our traditional Pittsburgh Cookie table. Everything came out great.

I highly recommend using Vanessa! She brought my vision to life and we got SO many compliments on the cake. She went above and beyond and I couldn't be happier with the result! She helped make my wedding the best day ever. THANK YOU!!

I am so happy I found Vanessa at the chocolate rose. I knew what I wanted for my wedding day dessert table but I didn't know how to make it happen. Luckily, this was Vanessa's speciality and she perfectly brought my vision to life. Not only was the array beautiful and a perfect compliment to my wedding decor but everything was also so yummy :) I met with her to sample some desserts and talk about what I wanted, and after that she completely took the reins and I didn't have to worry about a thing! She coordinated with the venue for setting up and did so very discretely and without an issue. All of my guests thought it was such a cool idea to do a dessert table instead of everyone getting the same piece of cake. So thank you Vanessa- you helped make my day perfect and I would love to work with you again.

Vanessa's passion and excitement is contagious and is reflected in each of her cakes and pastry items! She is attentive, caring, and her attention to detail is second to none! Be prepared to be blown away by her talent as she makes the process from sketch to conception absolutely seamless! Vanessa was phenomenal to work with. She is incredibly passionate about her business - from the design of the wedding cake to the taste - she 100% knows desserts. After meeting her in person, I became more and more excited about our wedding cake and our surprise dessert table because she was incredibly invested in every detail of our wedding. Vanessa wanted to ensure that the deisgn of the cake and desserts tied in perfectly to the theme of our wedding. Wow, we had an all around wonderful experience with The Chocolate Rose Cake Shoppe! The cake tasting was so much fun, and delicious! Vanessa's cake flavors are so unique and tasty, which made it quite difficult to choose! We ended up choosing 2 flavors for our wedding cake and our guests were raving about them! Vanessa was so great and easy to work with. She truly has a passion for what she does and cares for the happiness of her customers. Our wedding cake was GORGEOUS and we couldn't have been happier. We love that for our one year anniversary, Vanessa has an option where she gives you a new top layer of your cake, instead of freezing the one from your wedding day. She cares about your experience and wants you to have a fresh cake to celebrate your anniversary. We can't wait to have another bite of Vanessa's delicious cakes!

I had a wonderful experience with The Chocolate Rose Cake Shoppe, from the moment we met Vanessa (owner/baker) we felt so comfortable with her. She was a joy to work with. She was accommodating when we asked to taste additional cake flavors (we picked 3 at first and we wanted to taste 3 more after the initial tasting). She worked closely with us to ensure that the flavors, décor, and themes were exactly what we were envisioning for our big day. We ordered 19 dozen cupcakes (5 different flavors) and a smaller 2-tier cake for the cutting ceremony. Vanessa went above and beyond and made us vegan carrot cupcakes for our vegan guests. They were a HUGE hit among the vegans and “meat-eaters” alike! She hadn’t been asked to make vegan cake before, so she baked a few test batches of cake and frosting to ensure that she created a product that she felt happy standing by and serving. Our guests raved about the other flavors too and at the end of the night… there wasn’t a single cupcake left (we had 140 people)! We were so lucky to find Vanessa and so pleased with her cupcakes and the service she provided.

My wife and I were very happy with out experience using The Chocolate Rose for our wedding desserts and cake. All of the guest loved the spread blown away by the flavors and it was everything my wife and I could ask for and more. I would absolutely recommend their services and I plan to do business with them again in the future!

The Chocolate Rose Cake Shop in Sandwich Massachusetts did both my wedding cake and cake pop favors. They were absolutely AMAZING!!! Vanessa the owner and baker is so talented, creative, and wonderful to work with I would recommend the Chocolate Rose to everyone! Not only was everything absolutely beautiful and far exceeded my expectations but it was also VERY delicious! Her prices are very reasonable and her work is top notch. Guests were asking me where they can buy the cake pops I had at my wedding :) I just can't say enough good things about the Chocolate Rose!!!

Vanessa from The Chocolate Rose Cake Shoppe completely blew my expectations out of the water. Somehow, even with my inability to show exactly what I wanted, Vanessa was able to take my blurbs and pictures and create something beyond my dreams. Beyond being a fantastic baker, she has an extraordinary talent for art. Her creations are not only extremely delicious, they also look so amazing you don't want to eat them! I also give her a lot of credit because she was able to do all of this for me 1800 miles away. We lived in Texas while planning our wedding back home on Cape Cod. She was able to handle this task in a way that I completely felt stress free of it! It was so fun on my wedding day walking in to see this beautiful creation. I cannot rave enough about how phenomenal The Chocolate Rose Cake Shoppe is. You're not only getting quality of taste, but also quality of presentation. I can't wait for the next event that calls for yummy treats!

I HIGHLY recommend the Chocolate Rose. Vanessa is wonderful - she is easy to talk to and seemed really excited about our ideas. The dessert table and cutting cake she did for our wedding looked phenomenal, she really understood the vision we had in mind and everything was gorgeous. I didn't have a chance to try any of the other desserts on our table, other than our cutting cake (yum!) because our guests (and some of the hotel staff, haha) devoured everything! Another thing I really enjoyed in working with Vanessa was our cake tasting - the sample cakes were larger than we expected, so we were able to take the rest home for our family to try. She is a true professional and a creative, incredibly talented baker. Thank you Vanessa!

AMAZNG.. AND DELICIOUS! Vanessa is a genius with baking and a true artist at designing the most gorgeous desserts. I had a vision in my head of our cake, she did exactly that and more! expectations were exceeded. We received so many compliments on how beautiful our cake was and yummy it was! Another thing that was a must for me was a football cupcake display. We are huge football fans and i wanted to incorporate that into our wedding some how! After i got to see our cake for the first time and was already taken back with happiness for it i went to our cupcake display and could not believe it.. blown away it was the best thing i have ever seen! Just goes to show Vanessa can create anything you want and bring your visions to life AND have it taste amazing. We loved working with her, she is so kind, so thankful for her!

I chose the Chocolate Rose Cake Shoppe for our Wedding Cake and Vanessa ended up being a joy to work with. To begin with, she offered a tasting and the flavors were so scrumptious the 3 flavors on our cake became one of our hardest decisions!! Vanessa also worked with me on the cake design. She took one look at the ribbed design on my Wedding Dress and was able to incorporate it into the cake...both the ribbed effect and the lace! The Cake turned out wonderful and my husband and I are looking forward to the first anniversary cake she provides! From the amazing cake testing to the cake designs and my bazillion changes, Vanessa was so easy and accommodating to work with during our wedding planning! I loved that the flavor choices weren't just the typical vanilla and chocolate that have been done over and over again. Our Fireside flavored cake was perfection and worked in perfectly with our S'mores theme. I cannot wait for our 1 year anniversary so we can taste it again! I have recommended Vanessa and The Chocolate Rose to everyone I know because they will not be disappointed!

I have to say that Vanessa did an amazing job with everything I asked for. All of my guests at the wedding raved over the cake and desserts and the quality and way it was displayed was more then I ever thought possible. Vanessa was absolutely fabulous from the beginning! We had cupcakes and then a cutting cake....there was not a single cupcake left and my guest raved about them. Vanessa was easy to work with, yummy cakes and cupcakes, and beautiful design. She also help me with some other decorations I needed...truly went above and beyond. I would highly recommend her!

Not only did the cupcakes look better than I could have imagined! (She matched the frosting to look like the flowers we used for the wedding), they tasted even better! I would definitely use The Chocolate Rose Cake Shoppe in the future for other events and recommend her to all my friends!!

I used the chocolate rose for my wedding. At cake tasting, the owner brings you a small cake of as many flowers as you want to sample. They are delicious and all made with fresh ingredients. I ordered a small 2-tier cake with several cupcakes and did many different flavors. From what I hear, they were delicious (we kinda forgot to try the stuff, except for the cake cutting portion). She also will make you a fresh cake for your 1 year anniversary instead of freezing the top. She has many different flavors of cake, and will make you something on request if its not on her list. I highly recommend.

We hired Vanessa from The Chocolate Rose to do our wedding cake & cupcakes. I am gluten free & often times I am less than impressed by GF baked goods. The Chocolate Rose is definitely an exception to that rule! Initially, I was planning on doing a combo of GF & regular cupcakes, but after doing a tasting that included only GF, we decided that all of them should be. All of our guests were floored by the fact that they were GF & you couldn't even tell. On top of the taste, the presentation was gorgeous & the price was very reasonable. Rather than eat stale cake on our 1 year anniversary, Vanessa is providing a fresh cake for us to enjoy!

The cake was beautiful and delicious. Venessa was easy to work with and unbelievably creative. Everyone loved it! And she provides a new cake for the one year wedding anniversary instead of having to freeze and store a piece/tier of my wedding cake. Fabulous!

I contacted Vanessa with only a few months before the big day with really no idea what we wanted. She met with me, showed me ideas, brought me flavor samples and we figured it out together. She was really great about communicating in a timely manner and always double and triple checked details with us (delivery time, address, date). I also added a groom's cake about a month before the wedding and she delivered with perfection! Our wedding cake was so beautiful we didn't want to cut into it and our guests are still raving weeks after! We also love that although she will freeze the top tier, she offers the alternative of contacting her before the first anniversary and she will make you a new "top tier" at no additional charge!
