Born and raised in Kansas City, I started officiating weddings in 2009 after finding that several members of the LGBTQ+ community felt as if they were excluded or less than others. I quickly became requested to officiate the weddings of several family members, followed by close friends that had been at the weddings I officiated, moving more mainstream.
To me, this is by far, the best industry to be involved with. I get to play a role in making someone's special day all more that special with my words and ceremonies, and get to stand by as couples commit their love and life to one another.

Michael was our officiant through Wedley Weddings and he was AMAZING! He was so kind, personable and professional throughout the entire experience. Our officiant Emily was great! She wrote a beautiful service for our wedding and included various pieces that we weren't sure how to incorporate. We wanted to get married outside while still incorporating some religious aspects and include some Irish heritage. She added a beautiful bible reading as well as an Irish blessing and we felt it gave our ceremony a unique touch. Some family members that I know would have wanted a more religious service even stated how lovely and beautiful the service was. Overall, Wedley was great and Emily did a wonderful job!

Wedley Weddings made it super easy to find the perfect officiant for us. We got the joy of working with Lisa for our ceremony. She did a wonderful job getting to know our story and preparing a custom ceremony that we loved. All of our guests enjoyed the classy and personal ceremony she prepared. She made the process of getting the wedding license submitted very stress free for us and worked directly with the county following the wedding to get our license filed.

Josh was our officiant and we absolutely loved him! He was so organized even our venue team loved him and wanted his information to recommend to future couples. Communication was great and the meetings with him really helped him get to know us and what we envisioned for our ceremony. He ran the rehearsal and the script he wrote was beautiful! We recently hired Wedley Weddings to officiate our wedding. After reaching out to them they paired us up with who would be our officiant, Lisa. We were a little nervous about the idea of someone we don't know marrying us but we quickly felt at ease after our first conversation with her! Lisa asked us to meet her for lunch so she could get to know us... what was supposed to be an hour convo turned into over 2 hours of chatting! She turned our conversation into the most beautiful ceremony, made just for us. I can't recommend Wedley Weddings & Lisa enough!

Lisa from Wedley Weddings worked with us on our elopement ceremony and was fantastic! Although our ceremony was brief, she took the time to get to know us and did a wonderful job putting our vows together in a way that was meaningful and special to us. Our friends and family in attendance also commented on how the vows were nicely written. Lisa was also communicative and flexible with us as our ceremony was outdoors and down-to-the-wire on the final location due to the weather. I would definitely recommend Lisa and Wedley Weddings for your wedding ceremony!

We hired Lisa from Wedley Weddings to officiate our ceremony, and we are SO GLAD we did! Meeting with her to discuss our wishes for our ceremony went very smoothly. She was very welcoming of our ideas and provided many of her own when we had no clue what we wanted to say for our vows! She took the time to get to know us as a couple so she could write a ceremony that was truly representative of us. The day of the ceremony, she was perfect. She wrote such sweet words about us as a couple, incorporated our children and family into the ceremony at our request, and she spoke so eloquently. I can not say enough wonderful things about Josh. The way in our meeting he really got a feel for what we wanted and then executed so amazingly on our wedding day. People were laughing and crying it was phenomenal. This was also a destination wedding in New Orleans and he put in the work to make sure he could officiate there and guide us on what we had to do in terms of marriage licenses. HIRE HIM! Lisa Vanderheiden officiated our wedding, and I can’t rave about her enough. We met with Lisa for a one-hour meeting prior to our wedding to get to know each other. She has such a calming presence, and I felt at ease talking to her like she was a longtime friend. During that meeting, Lisa asked for our wedding colors, and I thought it was an odd question since she was focused on writing and delivering the script for our ceremony. Well I later found out that she asked that so that she could coordinate her outfit to match our colors which was incredibly thoughtful. She is a great public speaker and very experienced. She also filed our marriage license for us which was so helpful.

Our wedding planner recommended Wedley Weddings to us. Lisa was our officiant and we loved her! She took such a genuine interest in getting to know us and what was important for our ceremony. In both the initial zoom meeting and the final meeting face to face, Lisa’s laid back and welcoming demeanor was a perfect fit for our personalities. We used Wedley for their officiant and coordinator services for our April 2022 wedding. Lisa was our officiant/coordinator and we can't say enough wonderful things about her! Our original officiant cancelled on us in February so she was able to put everything together in less than two months! She created the perfect ceremony for us and incorporated everything we envisioned. As far as coordinating goes, we are so thankful we decided to use Wedley as our day of coordinator as well. Lisa managed the day of timeline and coordinated all of the details with our vendors. She kept everything organized and on time. She also was able to take care of ordering and delivering lunch for us and our bridal party. We are truly thankful to have found Wedley for our wedding!

When choosing an officiant for a wedding we were a little stumped. We’re not religious so didn’t have a church or anyone to go to to ask for an officiant. I found Wedley Weddings online and booked them. They were very reasonably priced compared to others I saw. We did run into a couple bumps and scheduling issues along the way but in the end everything turned out perfect! And, he even stepped out of our picture for our kiss at the altar! Even with the bumps in the road, I’d still book with Josh again. He did what he had to do to correct our mishaps, stepped out of our picture, and was in general a great guy! Thank you!

Josh was the best officiant we could have had!! As a person he is amazing, caring, kind, and hilarious. As an officiant, he is well spoken, professional, timely, and fantastic. What I am ultimately saying is that he is the total package and is SOOO good at what he does. He put together a fantastic ceremony for us that led me to tears just reading the first draft. My husband and I were so glad that we found Josh through reviews on the knot. He was the perfect officiant for us. He is extremely genuine, easy to work with, and very organized. He took the time to get to know us a few months prior to our wedding to learn how we met and special aspects of our relationship that would be great to highlight during the ceremony. Lisa was the most amazing officiant! My now husband and I wanted a ceremony that was not religious, and not super traditional and serious. We put off booking an officiant because we were dreading trying to explain that we didn’t want the traditional same old same old and we didn’t want to incorporate religion. We met with Lisa via video chat and immediately felt so comfortable!! We had a meeting in person after that and she really got to know us as a couple. We laughed and shared stories together and she wrote an amazing script for the ceremony that perfectly encompassed our personalities and our story as a couple. My now husband and I had an introductory meeting with Joshua and from that second we knew we wanted Wedley Weddings to officiate our special day. Our officiant was Lisa and I cannot be more thankful to her for the beautiful ceremony she wrote for us. My husband and I had a really hard time deciding if we were going to try to get a friend ordained to officiate our wedding or reallocate some of our budget to work with an officiant service. We switched our initial plans about a month before our wedding date and got connected with Michael at Wedley Weddings. He quickly was able to hop on a call, listen to our story, our expectations for our ceremony, and turn around a great wedding ceremony script for us to review and make any edits to. Josh was our officiant for our wedding and we truly can not say enough good things about him! He helped us in so many aspects including writing our own vows. We loved being able to customize our ceremony and make adjustments to reflect specific things we wanted to include. He made the ceremony short and sweet at our request and also when I made a mistake in the ceremony he quickly covered it up and played it off perfectly! HUGE thank you to Joshua and Michael!! From start to finish, they made our wedding officiant process phenomenal! They are both extremely friendly, funny, and kind! We met with Joshua and while he already had a wedding booked on our date, another of his officiants, Michael, was available and we are so incredibly happy for it!! He helped us come up with unique vows that were customized/personalized to our relationship story. It was the perfect mix of sweet, silly, and heartwarming. He talked us through all the official paperwork beforehand, and everything was taken care of timely after the wedding. My husband and I was looking for someone perfect to make our ceremony. We went through some websites pages but neither one make us feel like the right person. So we meet Joshua and we both knew he was the right person to marry us at the moment we finish our first call. Joshua was amazing with us! Our ceremony was perfect, the way he wrote it, putting some Portuguese on it since is my native language. He described us so perfectly! We hired Joshua to officiate our intimate wedding later in the process due to some last minute changes, but we wished we’d had him the entire time! Joshua easily jumped right in and learned all about us and our wedding plans, it felt like he’d been a part of the planning from the start. He was very quick to respond to emails/texts, incredibly personable, and professional. He completed our paperwork in a very timely manner so we didn’t have to worry about anything! Joshua was kind and funny with an energy that made everyone at ease. In a picture our photographer captured of our first kiss during the ceremony, Joshua’s face exuded genuine excitement and happiness. She said she normally cuts the officiant out, but it was so pure and sweet! This completely sums up Joshua’s presence on our wedding day. Highly recommend!!!

Wedley weddings is the only way to go. Joshua helped us plan out our ceremony, asked questions we didn’t think of and customized it perfectly to us and our needs. We mentioned we wanted a more unique ceremony with ribbon tying. He suggested the perfect way to “tie in” my husband’s six siblings - by giving them each a ribbon to add in. It made our ceremony that much more special to have our family involved.
We were so thankful he came to our rehearsal dinner and corralled our big families. Everyone asked a million questions, we rehearsed 2-3 times and it went very well.
His day-of services were amazing - he really took the time to get to know us, and got both our families laughing. He ran interference between arriving guests, the grooms suite and the bridal suite. He even put painters tape on the stage/platform floor because one of my bridesmaids didn’t know where to stand. He cut our ribbons to the perfect length. He printed out our vows on pearlescent paper as keepsakes. He ducked out of our first wedded kiss pictures, and stayed after to help get everyone’s signatures. He took care of all the paperwork afterwards. Joshua is the best of the best, look no further! If you’re still on the fence - schedule a call / meeting with him today.

Thank you so much for everything you do! We can't recommend Joshua from Wedley Weddings enough! After being engaged all through Covid we found a weekend that close family could get together safety. We made plans with two weeks notice and Joshua agreed to marry us on a weekend he had planned on taking a break before the busy wedding season! We're a blended family and Joshua put together a sweet ceremony that included our kids that was absolute perfection! Joshua is kind, funny, and committed to structuring your ceremony/vows to represent your love and devotion for one another. During the process of finding an officiant, we found it very difficult to find someone who wanted to be apart of our commitment instead of essentially a fill-in-the-blank ceremony. We truly wanted a ceremony that was specific to us and we found it with Joshua. He met with us and truly listened to our story and what brought us together. When we received the first draft of what he wrote for us, it was like he had been with us through our entire relationship and knew everything about us. The deeply personal words we spoke to each other and that were spoke about our relationship will always be a fond memory of our day. Thank you Joshua for giving us so much of yourself and your talents. It was truly a blessing working with you!

Joshua was everything we could have every asked for on our big day. We were planning an elopement with just a couple of friends in the KC area and we reached out to him about 4 weeks before our date. It was a shorter timeline than he usually worked with but he never made us feel pressured about anything. He was super flexible with our schedules and made a point to remind us that he was there to make the day special and important for us. He took the time to get to know us and offered assistance with anything we needed. He was very personable and professional throughout the entire process. I couldn’t recommend him more!

This was the by far the best service I’ve Ever had. I contacted them right before the covid-19 stay at home order to come officiate our wedding in our home with under 10 people. Josh was so professional and was able to write vows and a ceremony so funny and personal for us and it was just perfect!!!

My brother was the officiant at my wedding in 2012. He was awesome during the whole process, picking which vows we would do, to a rehearsal of them, and then the actual ceremony. He was very involved in making our dreams come true and I'm so glad that he was such a big and great presence in my wedding! I highly recommend you using him for your wedding.
