Julia Naftulin is a digital-first health and lifestyle journalist based in Philadelphia. She has experience writing reported features, quick news, engaging service pieces, snappy e-commerce copy, video scripts, and SEO-driven content. Julia currently works as a Senior Health Reporter for Insider Inc., where she also writes a weekly advice column. Before joining Insider, Julia held positions with Health.com, Dotdash’s brands, and The Knot.
Experience
While attending Syracuse University, Julia completed digital editorial internships with The Knot and Rodale Inc.’s Bicycling magazine. Following graduation she worked for Business Insider as an Editorial Intern. Julia was then hired by Health.com as an Editorial Assistant. After eight months, she was promoted to Assistant Editor writing up to three news stories daily and three feature stories weekly. From 2016 to 2018 Julia worked as a Freelance Writer contributing content to The Knot, Apartment Therapy, A Sweat Life, and Health.com. Julia was then hired as an Associate Health Commerce Editor for Dotdash creating product roundups for Verywell Health, Verywell Fit, and Verywell Family. In 2018, Julia moved into a Health Reporter position with Insider Inc. She launched and wrote Insider.com’s first-ever weekly dating, sex, and relationships advice column, Doing It Right. She also wrote stories on recreational drugs, sexual health, relationships, public health, mental health, nutrition and more. In November 2020, Julia was promoted to Senior Health Reporter, and she continues her advice column.
