Kristen oversees editorial content for The Knot’s national magazine and TheKnot.com.
Kristen represents The Knot at industry events, as well as in the media and has appeared on shows including TODAY, Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight and more.
Kristen has also held editorial positions at People StyleWatch, Ralph Lauren, Shape, InStyle and MTV.

As the former editor in chief of The Knot, Kristen set and oversaw content strategy for both The Knot magazine and TheKnot.com. Kristen is passionate about inclusivity and representation in the wedding industry and works to foster that message throughout all of The Knot’s content.

Originally from Saint Louis, Missouri, Kristen has lived in New York City for over 14 years. When she’s not thinking about weddings or hanging with her husband and two children, Kristen enjoys Cody Bigsby’s Peloton classes, watching Kansas Jayhawk basketball games and a chilled Sauvignon Blanc.

Experience

Kristen wanted to be a writer from a young age, but narrowed in on magazines after working on her high school yearbook. She interned at Dance Magazine and InStyle during college before landing at MTV, where she worked on the digital content team and saw the rise of such shows as Laguna Beach. From there, she worked as the assistant managing editor at Shape before moving to Ralph Lauren, where she helped to establish the brand’s editorial voice. Following her love for fashion, Kristen took a senior position at People StyleWatch spearheading celebrity fashion coverage and working with celebrities such as Tim Gunn, Kourtney Kardashian and Kate Hudson.

Education

Kristen attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas and is an avid Jayhawk basketball fan. She holds a bachelor of science in journalism with a focus in news, information and magazines. While at KU, Kristen worked on the university’s magazine and was a founding editor of Chalk Magazine.

Kristen was also a member of the University of Kansas dance team (Rock Chalk Dancers) and served as co-captain her junior year.

Kristen was featured on Good Morning America with model and body-positivity advocate Hunter McGrady to discuss size-inclusivity and reveal McGrady’s The Knot magazine cover.
Kristen has served as judge for the American Society of Magazine Editors’ Ellie Awards, which celebrate excellence in journalism across print, digital and social media.
Kristen has shared her expertise on weddings with various media outlets including TODAY, Daily Pop on E!, Cheddar TV, Daily Mail and more.
