This situation started out well, but became problematic as we got closer to our event. The positives: the food was delicious! The servers were great. The negatives: Their accounting team can't keep their amounts straight. You will need to double and triple check every payment along the way because they can't keep the amounts right and they will lose track of what you've paid. Additional fees were added toward the end for small things that added up to a few hundred dollars more the days before the wedding. Katherine is very responsive, but we ultimately ended up well over $5000 beyond our initial contract and budget. Also, there was a lot of pushback for the room flip. They kept insisting they needed more than an hour for 170 people. All of our other vendors said that was nuts, so just be sure to stand your ground on what YOU want. If you're organized and willing to hound them for specifics, then you'll be fine.

We are so happy that we hired Jewell Catering for our wedding and cannot recommend them enough! Jennifer was incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning process and made sure our wedding went off without a hitch! We received countless compliments from our guests on how great the food was and the entire staff went above and beyond the entire evening to ensure that our ceremony and reception were flawless. We highly recommend working with Jewell - you will not be disappointed!

We had a very positive experience planning our wedding with Jewell Events Catering, which we hosted at the Rookery Building. As we worked through all of the many details for planning a wedding - food selections, dietary restrictions, table layouts, bartending, event timelines, linens, flatware, silverware, etcetera - the folks at Jewell Events were always very easy to work with, even though we were planning the wedding from the other side of the country. We originally scheduled our wedding for August 2020, but we ended up rescheduling twice (first to 2021 and then to March 2022) and Jewell worked with us and always gave us reasonable options for rebooking, without adding any additional fees or trying to hold us to anything we did not feel comfortable with. Compared to some of the horror stories we have heard about other catering/venue companies, we are so extremely glad that we worked with such a well established, customer-focused company in Jewell Events Catering. When it came to finally hosting the Wedding, Jewell really pulled everything together beautifully. It was a fantastic feeling to walk into our wedding venue on our wedding day and know that we were in good hands; with seasoned pros handling all of the little details of our event and executing them wonderfully. The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all happened without a hitch; plus the food and bar were a specific highlight of the evening. We had multiple compliments from guests about the delicious food from Jewell, including those with dietary restrictions (one friend was shocked that her meal was actually dairy-free since it tasted so good). We’re very grateful for all that the team at Jewell (including Dana and Jennifer) handled so expertly for us in hosting the wedding of our dreams; it was such a special event!

Jewell Catering provided such a great meal and planning service. Everyone keeps raving about all of the food that we had at our wedding. We had a simple cake for cutting which was delicious. The team was incredible, and they were very professonial and helpful throughout the event. Our ceremony went very smoothly and the staff did a phenomenal job.

Jewell was the perfect caterer for our lovely winter wedding at the Newberry library! We especially appreciated how accommodating they were. Every time we got excited about an idea—from having mini donuts and a hot chocolate station to doing something different with our table linens—they came up with solutions on how we could implement it within our budget. We also loved how special they made us feel during our two tastings—they were genuinely our favorite part of wedding planning, hands down!

We couldn’t have had a better experience working with Jewell. Kristin was extremely helpful throughout the planning process and the food turned out amazing! It tasted just like what we had at the tasting and our guests loved it. They were also very flexible with any special requests and really catered to our specific needs. They are a great company to work with and I would highly recommend!!

Everyone we met from Jewell was so friendly and accommodating. We were able to specialize our menu to our tastes. We heard from several guests that it was “the best food they ever had at a wedding”. We also had a custom wedding cake and it was beautiful and better than anything I found on Pinterest. 10/10!!

So happy we went with Jewell. Our guests loved the food (tenderloin was spectacular, also lemon chicken, and veg option were delicious) and the service could not have been better. Dana was so thoughtful about everything in advance, and Jessica and Michael made us and our guests feel so pampered the night of.

Kristin Kramer and the entire Jewell Events Catering team made our wedding planning so much easier! From the very beginning, the tasting was personalized and thorough. When my father flew in from out of town, they even brought us in for a second tasting so that he could experience the wedding food. The communication was on point throughout the whole process - we didn’t use a wedding planner, and we were able to lean on Kristin and the Jewell Catering team to give us advice and seating chart templates. Finally, and most importantly, the food was delicious! The food came out promptly, everything was organized, Kristin took special care of the bride & groom and made us feel taken care of. Thank you to Jewell Events Catering - and if you have the recipe for the whipped cheese mashed potatoes, we would love to have it!

My husband and I were between a few different caterers and reached out to each for more information. It was clear right after contacting Jewell that their professionalism and kindness could not be beat. We had the wonderful opportunity to work with both Kristin and Jessica when planning our wedding. They made sure that we had everything we wanted for our wedding day and offered small customizations that really made our menu unique. They responded to our many e-mails very promptly and were almost like a second wedding planner. They made sure that everything went as planned on our wedding day and we could not be more grateful. We would recommend their team to anyone!

We are so glad we had Jewell Events cater our wedding! At the end of the night all of our guests raved about the dinner. And not only did they provide amazing food, they also set up our ceremony and reception space beautifully. All along the way Dana was a huge help and went above and beyond!

Our wedding consultant Dana get's things done! She was such a big help every step of the way. The staff overall are all amazing! We got many compliments from our guest on how helpful and polite all of the servers and bar tenders are. They are worth every penny, you won't be disappointed with the service you get!

My husband and I were very happy working with Jewell Events for our wedding reception back in June 2019. They are a large company, which gave me confidence in their ability to complete the needed tasks, but they also individualized everything just how we wanted it and always made me feel like more than just a number. Working with Dana through the planning process was awesome and Rachel was wonderful as our day of coordinator! The staff at the reception were very professional and we felt like the evening moved smoothly along and they weren't any delays with getting the food passed on schedule. Our venue also allowed us to BYOB from an outside vendor and Jewell helped to coordinate the delivery of all the liquor/beverages to and from the wedding reception at the end of the night so we didn't have to worry about it. We were able to pick up the unopened liquor the following week when it was convenient for us. The only unfortunate thing that happened was our cake topper broke during the caterers moving everything around at the end of the night and the top tier of the cake was not saved as requested; however, Jewell was quick to help remedy the situation by shipping us an exact replacement cake topper and covered those costs. They also provide a free anniversary cake to eat on the first year anniversary. I highly recommend working with Jewell!

From the start, Jewell was outstanding and a pleasure to work with. Our situation was a little different since my wife and I were responsible for most of the planning since our daughter and now son-in-law live out of state. When we first walked in for our tasting, our coordinator Kristin was very easy to work with. She made sure no details were missed and made excellent suggestions. At the wedding, we didn't have to do a thing. Everything was taken care of. The food was great and we received many compliments. I'd highly recommend Jewell!

We loved working with Kristen from Jewel! She was super helpful throughout the planning process, in responding to our emails and jumping on quick calls to answer our questions. She was very knowledgeable, organized, and easy to work with. The food was delicious and the room looked beautiful. We've had many guests comment on how good the food was, including quite a few of our vegetarian guests, who commented that it was one of the best meals they've had. Definitely recommend Jewell!

Jewell was absolutely incredible. They were so responsive to every single question. Their food was absolutely delicious and guests were so satisfied. The presentation of everything made for a beautiful meal and event as a whole. As a bride without a wedding planner, they made everything so easy and were extra helpful. Delicious food: Our guests RAVED about the food so no need to worry about "generic wedding food" with Jewell. Best thing is that Jewell is very willing to work with you to design to your needs (we designed our own salad and customize options for guests with dietary restrictions). Presentation was artistic and taste... well, I'll let guest feedback such as "fancy restaurant-grade beef tenderloin" and "best vegetarian option ever at a wedding" speak for themselves. Seamless execution: Jewell team's extensive experience shows. Kristin helped us anticipate the details that we didn't even think of (e.g., meal service timing for bride & groom so we actually got to eat during our own wedding). They also pulled off an epic space flip in an hour. From beginning to end, the team was on-time, on-point, and very very detailed- and guest-oriented. THANK YOU to Kristin and the entire Jewell team. We couldn't be happier with our experience!

Our guests are still talking about how great our wedding reception meal was, three weeks later. Kristin was attentive through out the planning process and always answered our questions. On the day of, she and her team did an excellent job flipping the room between ceremony and dinner and making sure our guests had everthing they needed. Food is an extremely important decision because it's one of the parts of your wedding that your guests will remember and what you'll spend a good chunk of your budget on. As such, we extensively researched caterers and reviewed numerous proposals before we made a final decision. What set Jewell apart from the other caterers in our city (other than the amazing food) was their staff, attention to detail, and the care they put into every aspect of your wedding to make sure it all comes together perfectly. We had the pleasure of working with Dana during the planning process and have nothing but amazing things to say about her and the entire process with Jewell. Dana is hands down one of our favorite people that we had the opportunity to work with during the planning process. Her knowledge of not only the catering industry but the entire wedding planning process made her such a valuable asset. She was able to work with our wedding coordinator to create the perfect menu and table settings. On the day of our wedding, we worked with Rachel who was also amazing. Everything was set up as scheduled and turned out perfectly. We cannot recommend Jewell enough. They're an incredible company who clearly hire some of the best people in the industry.

Jenna and the Jewell team delivered the best wedding food our friends have ever had. Even two months after our big day, friends and family continue to ask about our caterer. Jenna was a dream to work with, the price was very affordable, and the delivery was exquisite. Would highly recommend to all!

Jewell Events was by far the best decision we made for our wedding and Dana was amazing! They ended up being so much more than a caterer. You get amazing food (we still get compliments almost a year later) and wedding coordinator (we had one hired and I wish we had saved the money Dana was so helpful every step of the way!) and amazing staff that takes care of everything day of from food to decor. Seriously you cannot go wrong with them! My only note is make sure you take all your decor home immediately following the wedding (which they recommend), don’t do delayed pick up because things will go missing. We didn’t really need 200 votive candles so it doesn’t effect my opinion of them but still I’d hate if it happened to someone else with a more valuable item.

I cannot say enough great things about Jewell Catering, and neither can our guests! I worked with Jessica and Kristin and they are truly the dream team. From the food tasting, to cake tasting, to final walk through they were our biggest supports and made us so comfortable with how our day would turn out. They went above and beyond just organizing our meals, they contributed to executing our vision for the day. Our guests are still talking about how great the food was, three months later. So much thought and detail were put into each item and were fantastic. And there was no better way to end the night then with a chicago dog. I can not imagine ever working with a different group and will continue to praise them.

My wife and I married last month and had an amazing reception at the Bridgeport Art Center due in large part to what Jewell Events brought to the celebration. They had sat with us to figure everything out from the chairs to the linens and, of course, the food and what kind would be served. Dana helped us all the way through and was invaluable for how everything was set up. She aided us every step of the way in talking us through food recommendations, linen colors, changes to the food offerings, and our own centerpieces that we made and she set up for all the tables for a crowd of almost 100 guests. We had not expected that level of involvement and are extremely grateful to her and everyone at Jewell for helping my wife and I in making our wedding reception and unforgettable one for those attending.

Dana was our coordinator for our wedding in October and she was outstanding! We had such a great time working with her and she made everything so easy. From the tasting, to the emails back and forth, Dana was so welcoming and organized and so nice! And let's not forget the food- everything we had at the wedding was awesome. Some of our guests said they have never been to a wedding with this great of food. Some still rave about the late night snacks! We can't thank them enough for everything they did. If we could get married again, this would definitely be our first choice in the wedding planning process.

Dana from Jewell was fantastic. She was prompt with responses to questions, she was knowledgeable, friendly, professional, really an ideal person with whom to work. Moreover, our guests raved about the food! The little we ate, we also enjoyed, but many of our guests made a point to let us know how yummy it was. Jewell also did our cake. I actually squealed when I saw it, it was elegant and simple, fitting right in with both our taste and our venue. It was also SUPER tasty. Highly recommend both Jewell and Dana.

I cannot say enough about Kristin and Jewell. I will never forget the first time we met with Jewell, of all of the vendors we met with - any couple can attest to this - they send you a questionnaire before hand asking questions about your color palette, other vendors etc. Well, for the FIRST time in our wedding planning process Jewell was the first vendor to actually use the information we provided them. For example, we walked into the tasting room and they had chosen linens, charger plates, votive candles, and even a little cookie take-away to match our color palette which really made us feel like they cared. As a very detail oriented person myself, that was enough for me to book them. But it didn't stop there. The food is absolutely INCREDIBLE, and easily competes with some of the best restaurants here in Chicago, as well as its presentation. The amount of thought they put into every item on each plate truly makes a difference - for example, just adding a small cruton in the shape of an "R" for our new last name - all of the details were so thoroughly thought out it made working with Jewell so incredibly personal, they feel like family. Once our wedding day came, we had given Kristin several personal items to set up and let me tell you - they weren't easy! We had several boxes of picture frames, signs, placards for each place setting, handmade garlands for centerpieces, a donut wall and GIANT seating chart display and they never once told us no. Every last detail was executed exactly as I had imagined it and none of it would have been possible without Kristin, Jewell, and their amazing attention to detail. They truly made our wedding day an absolute dream and something we are happy to say we got to enjoy. Thank you!!

If I could give Jewell Events 10 stars I would gladly do so!! Our daughter and now son in law chose Jewell as their caterer for their wedding at the Rookery. My husband and I had the pleasure of accompanying them to the cake testing. When we arrived for the cake testing it was clear as to why they had chosen Jewell as their caterer. We were introduced to Kristin their wedding coordinator at Jewell. The presentation of the cake choices along with their table linens and so forth were all presented to them. From what they had chosen for their appetizer, salad, main entree to late night snacks and wedding favors. Kristin had every little detail covered. My husband and I were more than impressed with to say the least. I remember when they were looking at caterers for their wedding, after they had their dinner tasting with Kristin at Jewell our daughter said that" No one would even come close to the experience that Kristen had given them at Jewell". Well Jewell Catering delivered exactly what was promised. A PERFECT wedding experience from beginning to end . The appetizers ,the salad ,main entree , the cake and the late night snacks were beyond delicious . The food tasted like something at a 5 star restaurant . It definitely didn't taste like your typical wedding food. What we were most impressed with was how everything ran so perfectly . Kristin was in total control and she took care of every last detail. Not only does Jewell Catering give you outstanding food and service but they have people like Kristin making sure that everything was PERFECT! Jewell Catering Events is the total package !! Thank you Jewell and Kristin and your entire team for doing such an IMPECCABLE job at our daughter's wedding ! Your team is AMAZING!!

We worked with Jenna for our wedding day catering services. She was incredible to work with - very organized, calm, and knew exactly what she was doing. She was so wonderful about taking in our input and our families' input and making last minute changes when necessary. She also had a hand in helping to create the vision for the perfect wedding that we could only dream of. We loved working with her and Jewell - I felt zero stress the entire wedding day thanks to their amazing team!!

I've been in the wedding industry for over 20 years (and a former vendor on the KNOT). My son got married this September and he and his wife chose Jewell Catering for their wedding. To be honest, they blew us away ... simply fantastic! I have worked with Jewell catering over my years in the industry ,so I was well aware of the excellent service that they provide. But the tasting was amazing. Kristin had the most accommodating spirit! She made their vision a reality and did it effortlessly. The food was so wonderful that guest were asking for seconds. We are all still getting compliments on the delicious food. So wonderful!!!

They were Great with making all the preparation easy for us! Although, services like this are pricey, Jewell was the best price out of our top choices!! We would recommend them to anyone looking for catering for their wedding!!!

Could not have been more pleased with the professionalism, service, and quality of the food from Jewell Events Catering for our wedding on September 22, 2018. From the moment we met Dana we knew Jewell Events Catering was the place for us. She was so warm, welcoming, timely with emails, organized and just overall amazing to work with. The day of the wedding we worked with Jessica who was fantastic as well! She was so on top of it! Everything turned out beautifully and the food was INCREDIBLE. People are still talking about the unique appetizers and many have told us that their dinner was better than any dinner they have ever had! It was the best experience ever and I would genuinely recommend Jewell Events Catering to anyone!!

Kristin and Jessica & their team were awesome for recent wedding. They helped with all details and everything ran flawless. The catering meeting at their office was very comfortable and made us review the whole setup including cake selections and other items. We highly recommend Jewel Catering!!

Very responsive and informative, especially since I did not have a dedicated coordinator of any kind. Dana Konya is wonderful, I would have loved to have had her the day of the wedding. The food was fantastic. We received a ton of compliments on both the beef and chicken dishes. We were grandfathered-in to BYOB. It was so convenient! Definitely a brag-worthy experience. Rachel was very attentive the day of the wedding; I even received compliments on her from my parents. My only "criticisms" could easily be attributable to the venue rather than the catering. The venue itself was hot. I was dying in my dress and our pictures on the staircase at The Rookery were a bit miserable because we were dripping in sweat. We let Rachel know and she quickly worked with the engineer to rectify the issue – it just takes a while to cool a building of that age/size. The bridal suite was lacking in chairs and my bridesmaids just needed to be able to sit down and rest. Overall, I am very pleased with our decision to go with Jewell Events Catering at The Rookery and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

ewell catered our wedding at the Cheney Mansion in Oak Park in June 2018, and they were absolutely perfect! The food and drinks were delicious and the service was incredible, both day-of and during the year-long planning. Dana was consistently so thoughtful and responsive and really went the extra mile in taking care of every detail and special request. I loved working with her, and because of her and the Jewell team, did not have to worry about anything the day of my wedding except to have fun! I cannot recommend them enough. You can tell even from the initial contact and first tasting, Jewell really stands out as exceptional.

Kristin at Jewell was amazing to work with! From the initial tasting to meeting me at the venue to pick out linens (I didn't know what I was doing and wasn't sure I particularly cared, but she was so helpful in steering me in the right direction!) to the day-of, she was calm and organized. The timing of our wedding was a bit off because of weather and a shift of dinner to the indoor space, but Kristin and her staff kept cocktail hour flowing right into dinner without seeming frantic or anything. The guests had no idea we were off our timeline. Everything was delicious too!

Jewell events exceeded my expectations. I was paired with Jenna, she is truly a rock star. She was able to put together my jumbled up ideas and make them a reality. No trouble with last minutes food additions, creating a custom cake, or signature drink, it didn't slow her down. Taste and presentation was exceptional, from what little food I did eat (oops) and Jenna made sure that I was fed. Everything was delightful, the guests loved everything. Service was friendly, and fast; they floated around the venue like they'd been there a 100 times.

Jewell Events Catering was great! We wanted to do something a little untraditional and they got our concept right away and made it work so well! Kristin and Jessica were the best to work with and made this part of planning the wedding so much fun! They were integral to the entire day running smoothly. They thought of everything and were so on top of it and professional. And the food was great! Living in London and getting married in Chicago, we had to leave the tastings to our maid of honor. She chose Jewell and we're very glad she did! The food was delicious, in particular the steak which was cooked to perfection, I'm just annoyed I was too nervous about my speech to finish it all... As well as the food, the service from Kristin and Jessica was fantastic. We met them at the venue a few days before the wedding and having organised everything from another continent were worried there were a ton of things we'd forgotten to do. Kristin immediately set our minds at rest, we dropped the table decorations and seating plan with her and she took care of everything. On the day itself Jessica was a star, helping us feel really relaxed and going above and beyond what we expected from a caterer. If you're getting married in Chicago, hire Jewell!

This past Saturday, 8/26/17, was a dream come true. Jewell executed the exact vision we had for our wedding. In 3 days we have received multiple messages about how great the food and service both were the entire evening. They were very professional and offered phenomenal service throughout the planning experience and day of process. Jenna has the calmest spirit of anyone I’ve every worked with and because of this we were reassured with no worries the day of. My parents and I knew we were in for an experience when we met the owner, Mr. Jewell, at our tasting. I would recommend Jewell Events Catering over and over again and also say that if you can work directly with Jenna (although I am positive anyone you work with would be amazing) you will not have any regrets at the end of your event!!

We were so impressed with Jewell Events as our caterer for our wedding at Harold Washington Library. They were so organized, easy to work with, full of suggestions, and best of all had delicious food! They partnered with us like a wedding coordinator on certain aspects of our wedding, which was not expected at all. If we were to do it all over again we would hands down hire them again in a heart beat. We narrowed our options of approved vendors down to two choices when going through the tastings, and the combination of food taste and client service made it a no-brainer to choose Jewell. You won't regret working with them! Kristin, Melanie, Jessica and Stephanie were all fabulous.

She accommodated last minute guest cancellations, allergies, decor changes, etc. and was always so gracious in responding to our questions. We are still getting rave reviews of the food weeks after the reception. Everything was delicious and the service was outstanding. The late night Chicago style hot dogs were a huge hit! We are so glad that we chose Jewell for our wedding. They exceeded every expectation we had.

I had an absolutely amazing experience with Jewell Events Catering and, more specifically, with Kristin! She was extremely patient throughout the entire process, with us changing our menu options a few times and the end product being exactly what we were looking for - an upscale, urban BBQ. We received tons of compliments on the food! Kristin went above and beyond, providing priceless advice throughout, helping us set up decorations, handing out ice cream at our ice cream cart and much much more. I highly recommend!

We used Jewell for our wedding at Loft on Lake this past May and they were wonderful! Jenna was very professional and responsive to all of my questions during the planning process and was happy to provide assistance in areas that I wasn't sure about (timeline of events, standard sizes for menus/posters, how many of what to order for decorations etc). We had wanted our menu to be Vietnamese inspired and Jewell delivered! During our tasting we had a few tweaks we wanted to some of our dishes to align with our tastes and they were happy to oblige. They also provided our cake which was delicious and beautifully made. The day off staff was professional, prompt and our guests mentioned how the staff was so well organized, detail oriented and kept everything moving along smoothly. Hiring them was a smart decision on our part to minimize stress during the whole planning process.

Jewell Events (specifically Kristin) was a fantastic choice for our wedding! The food was delicious and prepared in a beautiful way. But most importantly, the service was phenomenal. From our first meeting, Kristin was so helpful and felt more like a wedding coordinator than just a catering coordinator. She was patient with us when we asked a million questions leading up to the big day, and she kept us calm and kept everything running smoothly at the wedding. I would have been so stressed without her by our side. Highly recommend Jewell for any event!

We used Jewell for our wedding at Venue Six10. Dana and Jenna were amazing to work with from the start. Our dinner and cake tastings were so much fun and it was an easy choice for us to go with them for our wedding. Everything was executed to perfection on our wedding day thanks to their great staff and attention to detail. We highly recommend them!

Jewell Events catered our daughter's wedding at the Rookery this past October. The cocktail hour, the bar service, the food, the cake--everything was outstanding. Dana and Jenna were wonderful to work with. Some guests said it was the best wedding they ever attended. If our other daughter gets married in Chicago, it will be a Jewell wedding for sure. They are first rate!
